solomonkane: Waste not your time, you are arguing with footballing neophytes. Gerd Muller played at club (Bayern Munchen) and national team level with star players like Wolfgang Overath, Berti Vogts, Uli Hoenesess, Paul Breitner, Sepp Maier, Jupp Heynckes et al.
A team that went on to produce so many world beating football managers!
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Messi Breaks Muller's Record Of 85 Goals In A Calendar Year by logica(m): 12:43pm On Dec 10, 2012
pazienza: A great player inspires his team to victory, messi has failed to do that so far for argentina. Go and and read about eusebio and his crappy portugal team, there is more to being a great player than just scoring goals. Cretin.
Um, firstly it seems you don't have current news. You are stuck in the past. Messi's goals this year for Argentina have inspired victories. And if you want to speak of the World Cup here goes:

Johan Cruyff
Ruud Gullit
Frank Rijkaard
Marco van Basten
Zico
Socrates

All great players, yet could not inspire their teams to win World Cups. Yet they are rated ahead of:

Paolo Rossi
Mario Kempes
Bobby Charlton

...who actually won World Cups.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Messi Breaks Muller's Record Of 85 Goals In A Calendar Year by logica(m): 12:29pm On Dec 10, 2012
pazienza: This is absolute trash, teams win trophies yes,but there are players a team can't win trophies without. And for spain, those players are xavi/iniesta. Xav/iniesta in barca as engine of the team, barca wins trophies, xavi and iniesta in spain as the team engine, spain wins trophies, it can't be a coincidence.

It's funny how you messi fan boys keeps shifting the goal post to suit your midget god,not long ago,you were trying to chalk up muller's achievements to benckenbuer, and when i did the same for messi, using xavi/iniesta,your tone changed. SMH.
I don't think you know how to read. In the same post in which I told you Beckenbauer was the star player of Bayern Munchen and Germany during the era of Muller, I also mentioned that teams win trophies not individuals. Muller's goals contributed to wins, but without Beckenbauer they were not enough. Likewise Xavi and Iniestas contributions would be nothing without the leadership and defensive acumen of Puyol. Kapishe?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Messi Breaks Muller's Record Of 85 Goals In A Calendar Year by logica(m):
pazienza: Hehe! Xavi and iniesta has transformed spain, previously known as perenial underachievers to a title winning machine, two euro championships, one world cup,and the title collection continues. All these they did without the midget goals and contributions.

Where as,the midget continues to struggle at argentina,in 2006 world cup,he had a star studded team with riquelme,in 2010 edition, same thing,at the last copa america same thing, yet the midget failed to impress.

So,that brings us to the question, who is really responsible for barca's trophy collections and success? The midget goals or xavi/ iniesta's, contribution? Who creates the spaces that allows the midget to score those goals?
That is why I told you teams win trophies, not individuals. Neither Xavi nor Iniesta transformed Spain. It was a team effort. And most of the kudos should actually go to the Barca management in the person of Guardiola who provided Spain with a crop of Barca players who had been well blended for years (right from La Masia).

As a matter of fact, check most of the consistent and dominant teams that won World Cups (or got really close as was the case of Johan Cruyff) and Champions Leagues (or the equivalent in South America - Copa Libertidores) and you will see the correlation between the same crop of players in the same club, and playing for country. Here is a quick list:

Santos/Brazil
Ajax/Netherlands
Bayern Munchen/West Germany
Inter Milan/Germany (the core German attack)
AC Milan/Netherlands (the core Dutch attack)

But has Messi set personal records? Yes he has. If it doesn't sit well with you, all I can offer you is my condolences.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Messi Breaks Muller's Record Of 85 Goals In A Calendar Year by logica(m): 11:00am On Dec 10, 2012
pazienza: Gerd muller goals that year won bayern the league, european winners cup(current champions league),and a euro championship. Messi's goals won barcan only copa del rey, something messi fan boys has failed to see.
LOL. Who was the star player of West Germany and Bayern Munchen in that era? Do you think it was Muller? Dude you need an education in football. West Germany and Bayern Munchen had a star-studded set and their star player was no other than Franz Beckenbauer (generally regarded as the master and first libero/sweeper); and it was his leadership and unique style of play that contributed more to both the wins at the World Cup for Germany and the Champions League for Bayern Munchen amongst other trophies. Not JUST Muller's goals. Without Beckenbauer, Muller would have been like Just Fontaine - a prolific scorer with no trophies to show. And to realize how important Beckenbauer was, he was the first defender to be considered "best player" - usually reserved for attackers. So you see; teams win trophies. Not individuals.

I suppose you believe that, don't you? Apparently you will believe anything. There is a reason C Ronaldo does not play for Barca. Let's just leave it at that.

Let me just add that, most of Messi's goals are completely UNASSISTED. They are goals in which he beat 3/4 defenders. How many such goals have you seen C Ronaldo score? Also he scored a number of goals from FREE-KICKS. How many free-kicks has C Ronaldo scored from all season?

Johnnoah1st: I can see people tink he is great yes i tink dat too, but let dis guy get out of barca and move to another club even if not outside spain, barca is already made team even without him dats y he kip scoring, let him go to another club where players work 4 dem self u we knw dere is notin like messi u won't even heard messi again, and if ronaldo his in barca he would have break greater records dan messi, but he work 4 himself and yet he still score goals and dat is a true legend of football, from sporting lisbon to man u to madrid yet he still score goals, if dis ur messi his sure of him self let him move to another club in spain or better still let him go to england.
I managed to make some sense out of the jumble of words. Let's use your logic a bit; if Pele considered himself a great player, he should not have played for Santos his entire life (never mind he played for Cosmos after he retired from active football). Santos was a ready made team abi? And in the Brazilian national team Pele was always surrounded by fantastic players. Once his team-mates of '58 and '62 World Cup triumphs retired, Mighty Pele could not manage to win the '66 World Cup. So why is he called King Pele after all?

Finally, always think like a scientist.
I am a scientist. And you are not. That's why you speak of "they" referring to what so called scientists have done without a clue. And that's why you think "they" can actually build a "crash-proof" car.
Car Talk › Re: Volvo Develops Crash-proof Car by logica(m): 8:55pm On Dec 08, 2012
See these funny dudes trying to speak science. There are far more sensors on airplanes and airplanes undergo far more maintenance than cars; yet air-crashes caused by sensor failures are known to occur. A fault CANNOT under any conditions be predicted or avoided. The only fail-safe that makes sense is an override mechanism for manual driving when it happens. And that is if you are even aware of the failure in the first place.

all4naija: Yes! Those are part of it. The questions surrounding how much these emotions, inclinations to spirituality and others play in our daily lives or activities are enormous. They play very important roles in our society.

Now,I just included them as references nothing much telling as abilities as acquiring skills and knowledge. They are by no means less important but exigent in understanding what differentiates human from brutes or other animals. Then you will start to see intelligence in a broader sense!
Which is why I pointed it out to you that those kinds of "intelligence" are the creation of socialist psychologists who would rather perpetuate the illusion that we are all equal. The fact that you even speak of "Spiritual Intelligence" indicates you've gone into the realm of quasi-science/pseudoscience.
Politics › Re: The Average IQ Of Nigeria Is 69 by logica(m): 10:26pm On Nov 15, 2012
all4naija: No! Does something synonymous with another means it is the same thing as other in actual sense all the time? Just close. Just in close category - like in a family of people which is made up of father, mother, Son and daughter.

Online definition of Synonym:

1. A word having the same or nearly the same meaning as another word or other words in a language.

2. A word or an expression that serves as a figurative or symbolic substitute for another.
I am sure you know what "the same" means. The definition clearly tells you synonym is "the same" or "nearly the same" yet it is the latter you are grabbing a hold of. The dictionary quote I put up did not even go into much use of words and just put up one word as the DEFINITION of the other. Smartness = Intelligence. It is not complicated. It is as simple as that. WYSIWYG. IQ measures intelligence. Even if you claim it measures "smartness" which to you is a subset of "intelligence", then it still measures a subset of intelligence. Capisce? Who ever cares can go measuring useless indices like "Emotional Intelligence" or "Financial Intelligence".
Politics › Re: The Average IQ Of Nigeria Is 69 by logica(m): 10:15pm On Nov 15, 2012
all4naija: You didn't read to comprehend. I know my readers know what I am talking about. Smartness is characterized by quick thought as against intelligence as a whole. A smart person in the sense that he can quickly figure out something but in some areas might be lacking to exercise such wit.

Now, as in definition:

INTELLIGENCE - The ability to acquire and apply knowledge and skills.
SMARTNESS - Characterized by sharp quick thought; bright. As in synonymous with intelligent doesn't actually mean it encompasses intelligence!

I hope that helps! I also give up on your understanding as well. It is surprising for you to be talking about intelligence yet can not differentiate between smartness and intelligence.
What is there to differentiate when a DICTIONARY has told you they are synonyms? Those definitions you put up there are from what dictionary? The ALL-4-9ja Dictionary? Dude give it a rest.

Or because some funny socialist psychologists have come up with the theory of intelligence speaking of "Emotional Intelligence" blah blah just to soothe the egos of people with average intelligence by telling them they have "VERY HIGH EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE", and which they would likely further say most geniuses have low "Emotional Intelligence"? Intelligence is there for all to see. WYSIWYG. It's all about being smart. Simples.

all4naija: I.Q is about comparison and time for whatever questions being asked. Two people of different I.Q might arrived at the same solutions but at different times. The truth is that I.Q is played out on people or over-exaggerated! Spare me this your biased excuse!
Japan has the highest average IQ in the World (last time I checked). What does that tell you speaking of correlations?

What is "played out" about IQ score itself is the actual singular figure. I believe IQ averages are more accurate than the singular values assigned to people (as the averages are computed from a large sample size). Singular (individual) IQ scores are not accurate and they are better expressed as a range of values; as the same person can retake the IQ test several times and score different results. But the score correlation will definitely consistently put the test taker within a particular category of intelligence. Basically, if you are a ret@rd, the test score will never put you in the category of a genius; and vice-versa.
Politics › Re: The Average IQ Of Nigeria Is 69 by logica(m): 9:28pm On Nov 15, 2012
all4naija: Do the lines in bold actually signify I.Q or something else to you? Please, if you don't know what intelligent quotient means then stop pointing out people's habits and manner as what is the consequences of poor I.Q. Even people with the very high I.Q still have some very bad habits and manner. Like using drugs and abusing people in the society. Please, steer clear of this gibberish you are spewing here about Nigerians!
Dumbass. Instead of you to ask what I mean you jump into an id!otic tirade. I am not speaking of people's habits, and I know what IQ is about. Generally speaking, IQ measures intelligence; something which you can even determine from how a person walking on the side-walk goes about it. I don't need to go into detail in any case to explain anything to you.
Politics › Re: The Average IQ Of Nigeria Is 69 by logica(m):
Average IQ they say is 69. This does not mean ALL Nigerians have an IQ of 69. As a matter of fact, a Nigerian could have the highest IQ in the World, but due to so many with lower IQs, then the average IQ is low. That's about average. For those saying this has to do with culture (I used to be of the same opinion but I have changed my mind), and that the IQ tests are not suited to Africans or Blacks, please explain why the highest average IQ in the World is found in Japan? How come Japanese are able to do even better at these IQ tests tailor-suited for Caucasians? And their high average IQ accounts for why a small country with little or no natural resources can become an economic and industrial super power.

The average IQ of 69 cannot be far from the truth; and we can see this for a fact all around us (here in Nigeria). The general "dumb" manner in which a lot of people go about doing things. You can see it in how people drive, how they even walk on the side of the road, and you can see it in the Government at all levels. The average IQ of 69 can account for why a country with an embarrassment of natural resources is an economic lightweight and industrially comatose.

But now the question is, why this low IQ average? What is the cause? For me I believe it has more to do with poverty and nutrition. You cannot expect a malnourished person to exhibit above average intelligence. You expect a hungry person who is constantly thinking of where the next meal to come from to perform well in an IQ test? And of course the majority of the populace fall in the "poverty stricken" category. For African Americans, the lower score (compared with Caucasians) has more to do with disinterest than our own case of malnutrition. Or you could say they suffer from malnutrition of the mind.
