Zeus I: ... and he ended up commiting sucide.LOL. I have this weird feeling you guys are beginning to believe your delusions. Is this a sign of mental illness? Not only do you continue to hold on to fables your fathers told you about the civil war, but you need to believe a 79 year old committed suicide. |
AjanleKoko:I hope you read the post I responded to. |
COOLDUN: Western prisons change criminals positively while Nigeria prisons hardens the Nigerian criminals, they graduate from minor thieves to the hardened armed robbers and kidnappers. On the contrary. Just as in Nigeria, Western prisons are simply a forum to meet clever criminals, network and learn new strategies for future crimes. What makes it worse is, after your prison term, you have a "criminal record" and have become almost completely unemployable (you definitely will not get a white collar job). |
Stealthy: Excellent match.Adriano was picked over Song for pace. Song would've have been ridiculed by Benzema, Ronaldo and Higuain going by the way Sevilla scored their second goal a week ago. |
AjanleKoko: This lack of center-backs is taking its toll on big games. Ronaldo's goal and Trochowski's goal in the last match were very similar.Funny enough, both goals were caused by Dani Alves. His defending these days leaves much to desire. And that was why he was pulled off for Montoya. I learnt he was not really injured. |
Yujin: Well, if as intelligent as you are, you failed to understand that Banjo(a Yoruba) was asked to lead such an important expedition (capturing the capital and chasing the northern soldiers out of it) which would have necessitated a truce, I wonder what will convince you that the Igbos where never against the west. Awolowo succumbed to the threat from the northDude, I have analyzed the ill-conceived push towards Lagos several times and each time come to the conclusion that it was a very foolish move. Firstly, the plan was to reach Lagos via Benin/Ore making the way through Yoruba territories into Lagos. This in itself is very foolish as the path is a long stretch of land which the force led by Banjo could not have maintained control of as it was too small. They would eventually have been cut into small pieces along the path surrounded and obliterated. A more sensible plan was to land in Lagos through the sea with a light force and head towards Gowon's location since he was their target (interestingly enough even Obasanjo suggested this to Banjo when he asked Obasanjo for a free pass to Lagos). There was also talk of "element of surprise" but you cannot surprise your enemy by making your way over a stretch of land well over 500 miles. Secondly, the move was not sensitive towards the Yorubas. Ojukwu should not have been making such a move at a time when he was supposed to be building a firm relationship with the Yorubas as allies in the war effort. Thirdly, Banjo lost control of the force he was leading in Benin. They were lacking in discipline, morale and very unruly. There were reports of atrocities and looting committed by these men masquerading as soldiers. Now imagine the kind of bad press and propaganda that followed - the Yorubas had heard reports of what these "soldiers" did in Benin and they were matching towards Lagos. Which Yoruba man would want them on his land? Having realized that he could not achieve his target, Banjo decided to ask Obasanjo through Wole Soyinka for a free pass. He did not get it, and he ended up losing his life for accepting such a foolhardy mission. |
Aigbofa: You just made a fool of yourself. You are the dullard here, If I didn't know there's a Yoruba mor.on here, now I know. I understand you will like to turn this to an insult fest, because I just exposed how dumb you are you are. If you are dumb you are dumb. there's little I can do about that. The f00l who posted the above is the same one who had this to say thinking I was Igbo: Aigbofa: You are completely blinded by hate to even reason properly! Same thing afflicting Achebe.Draw your conclusions... |
Aigbofa: Whoa! Maybe I didn't know because your contributions are sub par without much sense. How I love some of you! That's another lesson to you about context. Being an id!ot and not realizing I was Yoruba, and I was not in support of Ojukwu, you spent the last few posts making comments attributable only to a dullard. There's something they say about f00ls rushing in; now you are committing the exact same folly of Ojukwu. |
Aigbofa: If you are going to present that statement to a foreigner as I suggested, I suppose you will also supply the context, are this dim? Why am I wasting my time with you?You see how dim you are? I am sure everybody on this thread (apart from you) know I am Yoruba. Most people who have seen my posts know I am not a fan of Ojukwu and may even be considered a fan of Awolowo. You are a special kind of id!ot. I held back so long but I just had to tell you as it is. Just take it as "doctor's diagnosis". |
Aigbofa: Is the context also too convoluted for a non Nigerian to understand? Do you also need "Oxford English" to understand the context?Jezuz, and you type good English. Anyway, "context" here refers to the background: Ojukwu had no love for Awolowo; whom he of course blamed for his "treachery". That is the context. A foreigner who knows neither of the parties will not be privy to this background information and will therefore take it on face value. Is that so difficult to comprehend? I know your type though; sarcasm flies over your head. I am sure if an ugly girl posts a pic on the forum and I sarcastically reply to it saying "Nice", next time I respond to the girl and call her ugly you'd be wondering why I am being "two-faced". |
Aigbofa: It is amazing the extent you people will go to distort history and facts. Present that statement to a non Nigerian who is not biased and hear what they say. If they tell you that statement was made to disparage Awo, then Ojukwu was indeed speaking "Oxford" english. That's why in English (as other languages) there is a matter of context. You cannot simply bring a person who has no idea of the context of a comment to decipher the message. Again, do I need to explain that to you? |
Aigbofa: Really? Can you explain the irony please? The irony being that Ojukwu never thought much of Awolowo. And delighted in the fact that Awolowo died without actualizing his dream of being Nigeria's president. The same Ojukwu had referred to Awolowo as "a funny one". I really wonder, do I indeed have to explain this to you? |
Aigbofa: "The best president Nigeria never had" There is nothing convoluted about it except maybe in your fertile imagination.Dude. It was tongue in cheek. It was meant as irony. I am surprised I need to explain that to you. |
chino11: Ojukwu as an Oxford scholar cannot speak in the plain language people understand easily. You are correct to an extent; irony/parody is alien to most Nigerians. But it's not as complicated as you made it to be. Just that majority are not sophisticated enough. |
Yujin: A man who said he(west) would be neutral but later cowardly renegaded to join forces with the north.Dude, he was right. The West was very much neutral (and as a matter of fact was leaning in favor of Biafra) until the ill-conceived push towards Lagos. All Biafra had to do was hold on tight as up till that move, the war was in a state of doldrums. |
logica: Can anybody in here please tell us what the Biafran "Liberation" Army did to the residents of Benin City on their "liberation" match towards Lagos? Anybody? |
Billyonaire: Thats some mad concealment strategy. Drug boys keep breaking records on how to conceal. For this to be concealed right from factory shows that some powerful merchants are involved. As stated, if Nigeria is a transit route, The question is why Nigeria, why not another country ? They keep ruining our names for no reason.By the way Nigeria is just one of the many transit hubs in West Africa. And don't be surprised if the drugs were imported by a Lebanese "businessman". Also, maybe I should inform you about the correlation between dealing in weapons and drugs (which is usually as a result of trade by barter in which drugs are exchanged for weapons; so the gunrunner delivers the guns and collects drugs as payment). In other words, a gunrunner will most likely deal in trafficking drugs at some point or the other. Should I remind you of the nationality of a gunrunner caught with a large consignment of weapons in Lagos? He was Iranian. |
Yujin: Awo is the culpritCulprit of what? Does Awolowo owe the Igbos anything (especially considering how he had been treated by Nnamdi Azikwe and co)? And please don't come up with the oft-repeated myth of "promise to secede" if Igbos secede. Yorubas have never been follow-follow as we think independently. |
The simple fact that the boys were not allowed to speak in their defense is all I need to know a great injustice had been witnessed. |
Eagles man: Are they the Only students in uniport?behind every rumour there must be an atom of truth. Are you so reta.rded that you've never heard of "malicious" rumor before? Don't worry; hopefully it will happen to you or your family member soon. |
Can anybody in here please tell us what the Biafran "Liberation" Army did to the residents of Benin City on their "liberation" match towards Lagos? Anybody? |
chucky234: E be like say you dey involved for this deal ooo,I don dey suspect you cos of this your analysis.Your line of reasoning is not new; but attributable to low intellect. I could be one of the 3: 1. A drug dealer. 2. A law enforcement officer. 3. A person who simply knows things you don't know (simply because you don't read enough). Now for you to know which of the 3 applies, I will suggest you find a way to h@ck into my computer so that you can get to know me more. Who knows, you may end up much more educated simply by sticking to me for a few years. |
proudlyafrican: I have 351 Million naira and still in drug business??Then one must be under the punishment of the gods. That is the street (retail) value. It will be a lot cheaper on wholesale (from Pakistan where it's coming from). |
azeezakande: I don't kno Nigerians uses heroin. What don't we do in9ja this daysDude, Nigeria is a hub for drug smuggling. Meaning drugs coming to Nigeria from the "factory" countries like Columbia and Pakistan are actually in transit to other countries (like Malaysia he he) carried by mules. |
Billyonaire: You are wrong my friend. You cant defeat the gods, you join the order of the masters once you defeat their set of rules. You become a god. But one man cant conduct a revolution, only the populace can but with leadership. If you attempt to defeat a government alone, you end up like Okah, or at worst, MKO!You can't defeat the gods? Why do you think we currently speak of Ancient Greek Mythology? Answer: The Greek gods were defeated. If not, today you won't be shouting Yaweh and Allah, you'd be paying respects to Zeus and Aphrodites. Now the gods from the middle-east are about to be defeated. Surely Okah was not operating alone, or was he? Yes, one man cannot conduct a revolution but he can provide the leadership; such was the case of Jerry Rawlings. |
Mcleo007: That game at the Camp Nou was not lost because of absence of regulars, rather, it was an unfortunate result of a team play kicked to doom. The selection and formation was wrong to start with. Tello in the starting line up and playing a 3-4-3 albeit 3-5-2 as against a transient 4-3-3 was our undoing. As a matter of fact, it was silly gamble. Whatever made Pep think winning 1-3 with that formation at the Bernabeu is guarantee to toy with it at home can be questioned on the issue. We are still close to saying the same thing. He was at his wit's end. Some of the "absent" regulars were on the bench. |
AjanleKoko: Who were the regulars missing? Apart from Pique and Iniesta, everyone else played. David Villa was already out.I'm glad you mentioned Pique and Iniesta after you asked me which regulars are missing. So you consider Tello a regular? Who did he replace? And in your mind, missing Iniesta is not a big issue? Did Dani Alves play that game by the way? Not to mention Alexis not starting the game, and Xavi being pulled out early. No, it was not just a lost game. It was a game that showed Guadiola was at his wit's end but it was a culmination of his many mistakes; and he didn't know how to juggle that Clasico match with the impending match up with Chelsea. |
Billyonaire: There are only two entities you cant toy with; The Government and the gods. When you "toy" with the government and you defeat the government, it is called a revolution. When you toy with the gods and you defeat the gods, it is called rationality. |
usbcable: CR7 actually lifted a trophy in august after beating a catalan club by 2-1 in madrid. If you noticed, I also said Barca won a single, almost inconsequential trophy last season even though Barca also won the same redundant trophy you speak of here, as well as the World Club Cup. So what does that indicate to you? |
AjanleKoko: Puyol played all 90 minutes when we lost to Real Madrid last year in the Camp Nou, and subsequently lost the title....and you consider the "loss" to Real Madrid at the Camp Nou unexpected when 3/4 regulars were missing? In any case what does win/loss have to do with Puyol's absence or presence? Once again, when Puyol is absent, Barcelona is more susceptible to conceding goals from set plays. And, Puyol keeps Pique alert; as Pique has a problem with concentration. |
AjanleKoko: The truth is, Messi doesn't have to score a billion goals to win the Ballon D'Or. It is more important if he wins trophies for FCB and his national side. If he wins the Champions League again, wins La Liga, and manages to win the World Cup with Argentina (that looks almost impossible with the current generation), the Messi vs Ronaldo debates will die. How many goals did Maradona or Zidane score?Yes o! A player of Messi's stature doesn't need that "na-me-score-am" attitude; he should leave it for C. Ronaldo. Hopefully C. Ronaldo will score 120 goals this season (100 from penalties), and his team will win NOTHING. |
ddippset: fine. but what are you gonna do when there is a free kick or a corner kick? you then have five footers like alba, alvez, mascherano, xavi, and co up against six footers like benzema, higuain , ronaldo, khedira, alonso, kaka and co. and then the ball keeps getting looped over?Without Puyol, Barca will always be susceptible in dead-ball situations. Pique without Puyol is mostly useless because Puyol always snaps his fingers to wake him up. The guy falls asleep right there on the pitch and day-dreams (maybe he has ADHD). He said as much himself (Puyol helping him to concentrate). At least Song can win headers. I wouldn't bet on Busquets doing same. |
