Ekaka1:
Dude, that man is not a Thief!
Segun told His side of the story on social media. The Guy is not media suavy or as powerful as Mr Arinze who is a local movie hero in Nigeria.
However, Segun has carelessly put the guy's details out there. Please call him like I did and hear his side of the story, incidentally, the guy is a banker too and said He's made every effort yesterday to pay the Money but there isn't any Authorisation coming from "Oga seguns " back. That was his last request before banks closed yesterday plus Segun has been very impatient with him since he refused to take instruction from any "Segun" talking to him on phone....you see his point?
logica:
So why was Segun not informed by his bank (through Lola) that the guy had contacted them and they were handling the matter? And why couldn't the guy (being a banker himself) not COURTEOUSLY informed Segun how the matter was being handled? If his story is indeed true, maybe it simply further exposes the ill-mannered disposition of most NIGERIAN bankers as we have all experienced.
You can further see the reason why Segun is apprehensive when you take a sample of the responses on this thread. Although I have to say putting the guy's information online may seem to indicate the man is prone to making mistakes. wink

Look, let's get things very straight here. What you see here is a clash of cultures. It underlines the fact that we don't share the same culture as we want to believe. Certain culture believe in "finders keepers". Apparently in their culture, when you lose something, don't bother looking for it. Another culture believes in "what is your is yours". So when you lose something, you expect it to be returned. That is what I can deduce from this thread.

Ekaka1:
Ladies and Gents,
I think people like Segun Arinse should stop abusing the use of social media just because he's addicted to being in the news. This thread could become more damaging to himself than the poor guy-Monso whom I just spoke with. The fellow has been inundated with calls over this matter simply because Segun tried to bully him into returning the money without following procedures and the guy is saying:

1. I got an alert , informed my bank
2. Was instructed not to touch the money and I have complied.
3. Calls to say, I'm "Segun Arinze".....pay the money back into xyz account
4. The guy is a banker as well and from his experience any body can pose as Segun Arinze. So he says, he went to Segun's bank branch at Mbaise and told Lola that Segun's bank in Lagos should do him a mail instructing him to return the money to His account rather than somebody calling on phone and dishing instructions saying He is Segun.
5. All This happened just yesterday and now the social media is awash with a one-sided story from Segun because Of His local influence in Nigeria.
Please if anybody want to hear from Nonso you can call him to confirm his side of the story as well and not crucify the poor guy who is completely frustrated as we speak.
Please note, the guy wants to return the money but not until he receives a formal instruction from Segun's bank!

I've always wondered how, according to Nowa Omoigui, B.S. Dimka was able to run after Samuel Ogbemudia in a car from Kano to Owo in today's Ondo State in order to kill him. Was there no hold up on the roads or bad spots?
You forget this was in the dead of night. They even stopped to refuel if you read the story well. Dimka was a very vindictive and unfortunately, also very undisciplined army officer. You may need to know he got a lot of perks from the same Murtala he eventually assassinated (he was an "untouchable" despite his high level of indiscipline and should long have been dismissed from the Army). What goes around comes around you may say.

' bros will that be the name you give something you are using to chop money? bros in summary, N78mil cannot even pay for maintenance of a website. i do IT business and can comfortably tell you that. i bet it cost unilag more than this for every 2 to 3 years
LOL. No wonder Union Bank is lagging behind. Anyway, you said portal, not website. Maybe even you don't know the details; but a portal might include things like integration such as SAP. GTBank did their WHOLE website for 5 million. Please tell us how much Shell pays for their portal annual renewal. And I hope you know the difference between a PORTAL and a simple content management system (CMS) like Fashola's website.

What if it's the other way around and funding stays forever? We want it to be around forever so it makes great sense to lock it down forever so where is the sense in awarding 2 years contract while at the same time fearing cancellation by the state?

We have a lifetime guaranteed service without any additional cost or burden to the state so where is the sense in your 2 years contract?
Mr Man, what is there to maintain on a website when the website is to track the activities of a government with an expiry date? Are you telling me the guys are still posting photos and press releases of Fashola's activities? Long and short, this is a scam. Yes, there are guidelines on which contracts are awarded. No serious minded government will award a life-time maintenance contract for a website. Shikena.

The website is not going anywhere even after Fashola passes on unless the state legislature withdraws funding..
...and that, Mr Man is the reason a "life-time" maintenance contract makes no sense as nothing guarantees the website will continue to be funded. As I pointed out, 1 or 2 year contracts or even less are customary for contracts awarded by governments. This is not the maintenance of an airport which for obvious reasons may be long-term (though still not without a defined end period).

Why do you people keep coming up with personal apples and oranges stories?

If you are going to bring up cost and charges, you should start by telling us how much it cost to not only build the multiple websites, but also upload and itemize 1,844 videos, 34,381 photographs, 2,531 Press releases and 595 speeches among other items of public communication and service and maintain it for the rest of your life.

Please state categorically your cost for doing this job for the rest of your life.
Life-time contract? LMAO. Where and who comes up with such a contract (especially for a government contract)? That is the more reason to smell a rat. Maintenance of a website should be a short-term contract of no more than 2 years; except you are telling us Babatunde Fashola's government was going to last forever like Camelot. In fact, someone on here already stated that the contract was for a year (though I never bothered to confirm).

The story is FAKE!

The video being circulated is that of a man who died of an apparent suicide on a Saturday afternoon after jumping off a 25th-floor balcony of the Embassy Suites Hotel in Center City, Philadelphia police officials said Monday.

Police declined to identify the individual but said he was a 37-year-old white male. It is not a Ghanian Lady. He did not leave a note and was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:23 p.m., just 12 minutes after the incident was first reported, police said.

Management at the hotel at 1776 Benjamin Franklin Parkway did not immediately respond to a request for comment Monday.

Career › Re: Please Advise. We Were Told To Resign by logica(m): 10:10am On Aug 10, 2015
Check your employment letter. It may give a clue why they would rather have you resign than sacked. Usually when you resign, you are not entitled to benefits (and you may even end up paying the firm as much as 3 months of your base salary). On the contrary, usually when you are sacked, you get benefits (as much as 3 months of your base in some cases).

Basically, an employment letter is a contract; and it states the terms of the contract. The usual thing is the contract "punishes" whoever terminates the contract. If you resign, you terminated the contract so you pay a fine to the firm. If the firm fires you, they terminated the contract so they pay a fine to you.

It all depends, though, on the terms stated in your employment letter.
