Politics › Re: What Happened To The Nigerian Army . by logica(m): 8:51am On Jul 27, 2014
The Nigerian Army lost their discipline in July of 1966 (often referred to as the "counter coup") and has since not recovered. Once you have a situation where superior's orders are being shunned and superiors running for their lives from their subordinates, then you no longer have an army.

Not really. His itinerary (he was not even carrying any luggage) and the fact that the explosive had been sewn into his underwear ensured he wore it for that long.

They didn't need a test to confirm that. It is pretty obvious he doesn't think before executing a move; he just goes with the flow. Freestyle. That's why he frequently beats defenders because they never know what to expect. Thinking the results will be the same for Messi and Ronaldo is quite silly. With Messi, his brain activity will probably be on the high end because his mind is processing so many different stimuli (inputs); with Ronaldo definitely average because he always has one thing on his mind once he receives the ball - to shoot.

Guy don't waste your time arguing with this dude who obviously doesn't know Nigerian History. The dead giveaway was his claim that Banjo was part of the coup plot of January 1966; when everybody that knows history will tell you that Banjo had been in detention long after January 1966 coup on a completely unrelated matter.

Apparently you never heard of his father; he was Ajax captain in the days of Finidi and Kanu and won the Champions League in 1995. Of course he was Assistant Coach of Netherlands at the 2014 World Cup. So, "Blind" is not a new name. By the way, till this day, the Ajax team of 1995 remains the only team ever to win the local league and Champions League without a single defeat (1995); the real "Invincibles". Not bad for a blind guy eh?

That's like me explaining how Messi, Maradona etc came across the skill you see them exhibit. It is both talent and work. They did it with mathematical ingenuity and inborn spatial analytic reasoning.
Science/Technology › Re: Time Travel : Real Or Fictional .. .?(how Possible) ? by logica(m):
ghostofsparta: So since you believe if a subject approaches or attains the speed of photons, the subject will increase in mass, mmmh interesting but kindly explain to me how they came about this fact, could it be because they've observed partcles to gain mass when accelerated in Hadron Collider? Explain to me, I want to learn. Also explain to me how so or how will time travel occur if the speed of light is exceeded?
If indeed you want to learn and not just being sarcastic, then Google what Einstein's Theory of Relativity is about; and of course you will see the Mathematical equations which predict these facts. And yes, they are facts as they have been backed up by experiments long before the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) existed. Of course LHC has been useful in recently proving the existence of the "God Particle" or Higgs Boson which Peter Higgs had predicted.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_dilation

Clocks on the Space Shuttle run slightly slower than reference clocks on Earth, while clocks on GPS and Galileo satellites run slightly faster.[1] Such time dilation has been repeatedly demonstrated (see experimental confirmation below), for instance by small disparities in atomic clocks on Earth and in space, even though both clocks work perfectly (it is not a mechanical malfunction). The laws of nature are such that time itself (i.e. spacetime) will bend due to differences in either gravity or velocity – each of which affects time in different ways.[2][3]

In theory, and to make a clearer example, time dilation could affect planned meetings for astronauts with advanced technologies and greater travel speeds. The astronauts would have to set their clocks to count exactly 80 years, whereas mission control – back on Earth – might need to count 81 years. The astronauts would return to Earth, after their mission, having aged one year less than the people staying on Earth. What is more, the local experience of time passing never actually changes for anyone. In other words, the astronauts on the ship as well as the mission control crew on Earth each feel normal, despite the effects of time dilation (i.e. to the traveling party, those stationary are living "faster"; whilst to those who stood still, their counterparts in motion live "slower" at any given moment).

With technology limiting the velocities of astronauts, these differences are minuscule: after 6 months on the International Space Station (ISS), the astronaut crew has indeed aged less than those on Earth, but only by about 0.007 seconds (nowhere near the 1 year disparity from the theoretical example). The effects would be greater if the astronauts were traveling nearer to the speed of light (approximately 300,000 km/s), instead of their actual speed – which is the speed of the orbiting ISS, about 7.7 km/s.[3]

Time dilation is caused by differences in either gravity or relative velocity. Both factors are at play in the case of ISS astronauts (and are actually opposing one another).

I mean why can't you or Einstein himself didn't explain or point to that thing that would pause or slow down everything predicated on time around us if one attain the speed of light. Maybe I'm ignorant or haven't read that deep as to know how it would be so for I know no wesrern scientist have so called time travelled to be certain everything around will pause or slow down like speedstar in the Heroes series...
If you are indeed a scientist and with sound Mathematical background, you would understand the implications of The Theory of Relativity. The simple implication is, we can never reach the speed of light. It is like the speed limit. And as you approach the speed of light, your mass increases further making it near impossible to reach the speed of light. The implication of the theory is if you can surpass the speed of light, time travel can be achieved. Reaching the speed of light itself is an impossibility today. Not even an electron can reach the speed of light. And about "time slowing down", this has been VERIFIED in actual experiments. It is not just a theory.

zendy: I want to clarify something's that certain ignorant Yorubas have used to justify the senseless assault on Igbos.

1) The January 1966 coup was not an Igbo coup. At the time, the majority of Officers were Igbos and thus why most of the officers were from that part of Nigeria. It should also be pointed out that 2 leading members of that plot were Yorubas (Ademoyega and Victor Banjo). One last thing about this coup which Yorubas might find interesting is that the plotters had no desire to take power for themselves ,they actually wanted to make Awolowo head of Government!

2) The so called invasion of Ore,which incidentally was led by a Yoruba man (Victor Banjo), was in response to the shelling of Garkem,a Biafran border town. The war had already been started by Nigerians and it was only natural for Biafra to invade Nigeria.

Oh yeah, exactly my point. Neither of us were called. Those called know about football; of course being the typical Nigerian, you would think you know more than they do. They've made their decision so YOU can go home and...QUENCH.

PS: The technique you refer to as "simple-minded" logic is no worse than the stats of goals and assists to determine who did better. Yes, football is very complex but it takes simple techniques to try and make sense of it all.

But introduce you to how people who know more about football than you weigh the importance of goals and players. There is a reason you were not called to vote. End of...
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by logica(m):
*Sigh*

OK, do this experiment:

1. Take away all of Messi's goals.
2. Take away all of Muller's goals.
3. Take away all of James' goals.
4. Take away all of Robben's goals.

What did you observe?

Well, I will tell you what I observed:

1. Argentina does not make it out of the First Round: they draw Bosnia, draw Iran and lose to Nigeria. (2 points total).
2. Germany STILL wins the World Cup: they beat Portugal, draw Ghana and draw US still topping their group and all other results remain the same (even beating Brazil 6-1).
3. Columbia STILL qualifies from the First Round: only result that may change is against Uruguay in the Round of 16 (and even that simply goes to penalties).
4. Netherlands STILL qualifies from the First Round: beat Spain 3-1, draw Australia 2-2 and beat Chile 2-0. after that, no other results change.

Now, I am using PURELY goals to judge; and the weight of the goals scored by the Golden Ball contenders (imagine if I added assists). You can then see whose goals carried the biggest weight. That of Muller is most telling as it clearly indicates Germany would STILL have won the World Cup without him. And if I remember, the Golden Ball winner was supposed to be the "most valuable player to his team". Those who chose Messi knew exactly what they were doing. Ces Fini.

iwonbaoko: Funny but ignorant.

FIRST REPUBLIC
The very first government after independence was formed of a coalition because no one party got the majority.
It was a coalition between Zik and Ahmadu Bello (NPC + NCNC) Awo and his party AG were in OPPOSITION

SECOND REPUBLIC.
NPN did not have a majority in either the Senate or house of representives. Again Zik went into coalition with NPN positioning himself as a "BRIDE" (the cartoonists of the day responded with apt caricatures) and as a consequence an Ibo man (Ume Ezeoke) was the Speaker of the House of Representatives and another Ibo(Ekwueme) was Vice President. So from all the historical evidence it is clear that the Ibos are the ones who have "sold out" to the North and less willing or able to stand on principle or in opposition.
What is the case today. Is the SW with PDPhuh Yorubas are not opportunistic or easily bought and more importantly we know exactly what we want which is true federalism while you clowns just wear striped red baby hats and make shrieking noises

The Yoruba have consistently in our politics refused to align with the North or to play second fiddle to anyone and that is why we have always been in opposition politically when the North have been in power while you lot grovel at their feet for scraps

chic2pimp: No be only you sabi watch clip. Mesef don watch am. You really do need to watch it again. Maradona needed no wingers to act as decoys as he waltzed through the belgian and English defence. That was all him.
That was why I say you don't know how to read plays. The wingers' runs were enough to worry and confuse both the Belgians and English. And it almost worked out exactly the same way against the Germans as well; only this time he decided to make a through pass to Burruchaga after having drawn in 2/3 Germans for the 3rd goal.
chic2pimp: His performances up that point were astounding. Although he had an average finals compared to his 2 goals heroics in the QF and SF games, He still proved decisive.
Once again, Maradona did NOT have an average Final. People like you only measure performance with goals. I was using the same metric you guys used to measure Maradona in the 1986 Final. And in the Final, which once again I watched live, Maradona definitely did not have an average game. And neither did Messi.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by logica(m): 11:53pm On Jul 15, 2014
A40: All of Messi's goals came against Bosnia, Iran and Nigeria. Only 1 assist in the knockout stage! Even if Maradona didn't win in 86 its bleeding obvious he did a lot more when it mattered compared to Messi in 2014
Right. If he didn't score those goals, sebi Argentina would've miraculously appeared in the Round of 16 not so? And the way you are even implying that Bosnia, Iran and Nigeria are no competition shows how you are not keeping with the times. We all saw how Costa Rica got Italy and England out. So maybe Messi's goals against Bosnia, Iran and Nigeria should've been awarded as half goals? Or what do you think?

And then to point out how ridiculous your point is: Maradona only scored one goal in the Group Stage in 1986. Using your logic, his contribution to Argentina qualifying from the Group Stage was minimal.

Which wingers did you see him use to distract the English? .

Again I ask which wingers?

If's and but's ........All hypothetical situations. Fact remains whilst one performed, the other failed to.
If you can ask me "which wingers he used" I don't think I even need to "argue" with you again. I watched the games live, and even today I still check the clips. If you don't know how to look for the videos (and I doubt that will even help you because I doubt you know how to read a game or play) I cannot help you.

Secondly, if all it takes to perform in a WC Final is to make one assist, then I can name many more names who "performed" far better than Maradona.

chic2pimp: Whilst also forgetting to post Maradona's stats come the business end of the competition

Let me post those stats for all to see
chic2pimp: QF - 2 GOALS
Uh huh...with 2 goals if he was playing handball combined with football. Yes, his "best goal of the century" even got plenty of assist from his wingers whom he used to distract the English all the way to the goal.

chic2pimp: SF - 2 GOALS
As in above, his wingers useful runs contributed.
chic2pimp: FINALS - CREATED THE WINNING GOAL!!!
Oh, now what would've happened if Burruchaga had missed?

Long and short, the contribution of Valdano and Burruchaga cannot be underestimated. If Messi only had one winger in their mould (like Di Maria) in the Semi-Final and Final, then we can compare to Maradona.
