tomber:Although in all my three assertions I used the words 'objective' and 'informed', none of the assertion implies what you get stunned about. In other words, I did NOT claim that Buhari's supporters are objective and informed, though one can easily be tempted to think I did. To let me break it simpler here: !. whether GMB supporters themselves are ACTUALLY objective and informed or not; !!.whether they THINK they are objective and informed or not; !!!. whether I myself am ACTUALLY objective and informed or not: !V. and whether I THINK I am objective and informed or not, All these four situations have NOTHING to do with the VALIDITY or OTHERWISE of my assertion, which goes thus; V. Every objective and informed observer knows that ----. My claim here, which can be true of false, is that WHOSOEVER satisfies the requirements of being objective and informed would know that -- - - -- - . |
1. Every objective and informed observer knows that GEJ has never been fully and whole-heartedly committed to fighting corruption. Evidence: Farouk Lawan, Bankole, Oduah, Diezani, Bode George, Aalamieyeseigha (and the near extinction of the EFCC, which has now been reduced to arresting petty criminals) 2. Every objective and informed observer knows that GEJ has never been fully and whole-heartedly committed to stopping the insurgency in the north. Evidence: right from the very first bomb he saw it as an opportunity to exploit to silence the Northern leaders, blackmail them and give them so much to battle with; the insurgency that started with a few largely unarmed ragtags was allowed to develop into a conflagration that is consuming the North. 3. Every objective and informed observer knows that GEJ has never been fully and whole-heartedly committed to rescuing the innocent CHIBOK GIRLS. Evidence: It took his government ten days, and the internationalization of the girls plight and the spontaneous global outrage, to make GEJ and his goons to even believe there was any kidnapping. And today the poor girls have spent 261 DAYS IN CAPTIVITY, and yet GEJ and his cohorts would prefer we ALL forget about them so as not to 'embarrass' his government! |
egift:It's so pathetic, the way these PDP goons display their moral bankruptcy for all to see! They seem to have thrown all their decency, decorum and virtues to the dogs (and the dogs seem to have completely eaten them all), thus leaving them incapable of feeling any sense of shame at all. They can fabricate even the most outrageous and most outlandish lies and all sorts of blackmail and mischief against some of the best of our society yet without feeling like they have done anything wrong. And they seem to have completely lost their inbuilt capacity to feel any embarrassment or remorse for what they are doing. And to be honest with you, we have to brace up for even more, not less, of this their pathetic show of shame as the D-Day approaches, and the defeat of the clueless becomes almost a foregone conclusion. |
Poorly cooked up story, with imaginary characters, 'Zamfara Muslim youths'. Only the gullible can believe this crap. Imagine the following: "Why should we support the General? He has never told us to go to school, we see you guys in the South going to school The General never tells us how to be better. Our young ones were roaming the streets, some of our mates joined Boko Haram, because they are not inspired". If anything, this bullshit only shows the extent to which the writer considers northerners to be so dumb. Imagine the creator of this fictional piece portraying the 'Muslim Zamfara youths' so dumb that they would blame general Buhari for 'never telling them to go to school'! And worse still, they were even so pathetically moronic that they blame him for not 'telling them how to be better'! OMG! Even when the fictitious 'Zamfara youths' complained that their mates were roaming the streets and joining Boko Haram, they were not intelligent enough to blame the unemployment on the clueless and corruption tolerant govt of GEJ; instead, they blamed Buhari for not making them 'inspired'. As Buhari failed to inspire them to go to school, according to the fictional piece, they started going to schools when they 'see you guys going to school'. Desperation, bordering on absurdity! |
GEJ supporters becoming objects of ridicule without them realizing it! Why couldn't you provide the link to this story, if it wasn't one of the recycled old lies, half-truths, conjectures and outright criminal impersonation that you have been so relentlessly filling up this forum with? |
Ayed44:I think you have provided some food for thoughts here which the APC campaign strategists should look into. The gist of your post is that although the STYLE of the Prof's campaign may be good and effective, its SCOPE should be widened, which makes a lot of sense to me - even though you seem to be a PDP supporter. |
1. When GEJ contested in 2011, did he not get 25% of the votes in some of the predominantly Muslim Northern states, I think including Sokoto the seat of the Caliphate?. 2. Like millions of other Nigerians, many Northern and SW Muslims believed in 2011 that GEJ truly represented a clear departure from the corrupt past, hence his religion did not matter much to them, but it turned out not to be the case. 3. Almost ALL the PDP northern governors strongly came out to support him against a fellow Northern Hausa-Fulani Muslim, because he made them to believe, albeit deceptively, that he that he would only serve for one time in order to assuage the sense of 'injustice' the north was rightly or wrongly feeling for not allowing a norther to complete the term of the late Yaradua. 4. Anybody can win an election on some sentiments for the first term, but winning a re-election, especially in a free and fair setting and where all rigging loopholes are securely plugged, is exclusively reserved for high-flying first term performers whose achievements would serve as their selling points. 5. Thus if you see Muslims who would not vote for GEJ in the coming election, do not see their decision as being based on simplistic religious considerations. Most of them would vote for Pastor Osinbajo or Pastor T. Bakare against Alhaji Atiku or Alhaji Babangida in an election, just as many Christians would vote for Alhaji Buhari or Alhai Ribadu against Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor or Diepreye Alamieyeseigha in an election. 6. So, although there would always be some pathetic brainwashed bigots who would always be swayed by mere religious sentiments in electing a candidate, I can assure you that more and more Nigerians, especially the young ones, are becoming wiser, putting candidates to closer scrutiny, and asking tougher questions than just looking at the religion of a candidate. And surely this is a very good development and positive sign that one day we would be there, Good willing. |
cooljude:Try to learn more about the Palestinian conflict, you would find that it is far less about religion than you think. |

HappyJoe:Your post generally makes a lot of sense, but with regards to the above, you should know that politics is not like mathematics or physical sciences. For instance, your calculation of having an Igbo president earlier under PDP than under APC is based on the assumption that PDP would keep winning elections until it gets to the turn of the Ibgo president in 12 years timei Although this is quite possible, it is very UNLIKELY, considering the current momentum the APC is enjoying across the country, which is being fueled by profound and widespread discontent and disillusionment with the PDP's 16 years rule, especially the not-so-impressive performance of GEJ. And the 'Christian north' you mentioned may not be a sure banker for the Igbo candidate that time, partially due to the gross failure of GEJ, again, especially his lack of showing enough commitment and leadership in protecting the lives and properties of thousands of innocent northerners, Christians and Muslims, who were being slaughtered almost daily by the BH savages. This means that in the future the Northern voters would be more critical in their appraisal of candidates, and less carried away by sheer religious or ethnic sentiments, as they must have realized by now that it is NOT in the interest of anybody to have an incompetent or unprepared leader at the top. And although relations between the Northern Christians and their Muslim neighbours have in recent years deteriorated to the extent that they hardly see 'eye to eye', a lot of the Christian minorities would be very wary to replace their northern 'masters' with a new set of 'masters' from across the Niger who they know to be so domineering by nature, so conceited, so pushy to the extent of being so inconsiderate of the feelings of others and, above all, who may be so unforgiving about a past of our national history that none of us can change!. |
Don't forget that this man is an academic and a pastor, two professions that have the capacity to produce TRUE champion of the ordinary people, a grassroots politician! All over the world, GOOD leaders who care for the welfare of the ORDINARY people often find some time off their tight schedules to GO and MEET some POOR and ORDINARY folks at the GRASSROOTS. They would eat and drink with them, listen to their problems, hopes, expectations, and explain to them their parties' programmes in a simple, ordinary language they would understand. Thus, FAR from showing his lack of optimism at the poll, as you wrongly interpreted it, what the highly respected and erudite APC VP did clearly shows his PROFOUND COMPASSION for the ORDINARY NIGERIANS and his GENUINE CONCERN for the welfare ALL CITIZENS, rich and POOR. This is unlike the self-centred clueless you support, who always seems to be at his HAPPIEST while in the company of the notoriously corrupt elements of our country! |
CHRISTALLITE:Please read my post again, and you would find nowhere I accused GEJ of being corrupt or 'corrupted' as you put it. I only stated that he encourages corruption by his attitude as a leader, either through his action or inaction and there are many examples of either case. |
Emmydo360:It's not only Nigerians that are greedy; human beings generally are by nature greedy and, in the absence of enough deterrence and reward for honesty, most humans may succumb to the temptations of being corrupt. That's where good leadership comes in. In addition to having adequate deterrence, a good leader who seriously wants to see corruption minimized in the society he leads has to show ZERO TOLERANCE for corruption, and MUST be seen to be dissociating himself from ALL those who are TAINTED by allegations of public corruption, no matter how much political/electoral benefits he thinks he can drive from associating with them. Most of us who support a change in government are in no illusion that a Buhari presidency would eliminate corruption altogether. What we know, however, is that under Buhari, corruption would be much LESS TOLERATED, less blatant and less bare-faced than under GEJ. And this is simply because while the body language of GEJ ENCOURAGES corruption, that of Buhari DETERS it!. |

kodded:You would be shocked to near-unconsciousness if you find out how many out of these 12 millions are real farmers, and how many are just using those grants for things that are not even remotely related to anything green! You would also be shocked to find out who have now become 'leaders' of the various agric associations that have sprung out with the sole purpose of grabbing those grants. I know of a deputy national leader of one of such crop-specific associations and he confessed to me that both he and the leader he deputizes for (one is from the north and the other from the south) have never owned an inch of a farm on which they cultivated that same crop before they became 'national leaders' of the farmers of that crop! |
kodded:A leader who is so tolerant of the kind of massive corruption going on in the country, and who is so openly and warmly friendly with the most corrupt members of the society, CANNOT take anybody to CANAAN, or any promised land. And any country where systematic, sustained, widespread and large-scale looting is allowed to continue with so much impunity, and the culprits feel so much unperturbed, because the leader is so unconcerned, that country CANNOT develop and be a promised land like CANAAN! So you can now see why we would all be stuck and remain stagnant if, God forbid, we do not vote out this clueless and incompetent adm in the forth-coming election. |
That's a very bad prayer for the country, Mr. President! Why would you wish us to replace you with a leader who would be so clueless, so incompetent, so unconcerned as thousands of his people are being killed and so friendly to the corrupt elite that we would feel like 'we miss you' and we start to 'appreciate' you?. God forbid! As we would surely and most sincerely wish you a happy, comfortable retirement with your family from May next year, we are confident that we would replace you with a leader who is much more passionate to lead, and who would be much less tolerant for to corruption than you. We would remember you as an accidental and grossly unprepared president who may sincerely mean well for the country, but who clearly did not have the moral courage to confront the corrupt and powerful elite who need to be confronted head-on and be told 'enough is enough' if this country is to ever move forward! |
NafeesaAA:This is exactly what I have been trying to drum into the deaf ears of the divisive and clannish SS/SE supporters of GEJ here who are so dumb, naive and detached from the realities on the grounds in the north that they still believe the Northern Christians would troop out in their millions to vote for their Christian 'brother' in the coming election, even though it is so clear even to the most gullible among them that the 'brother' president is more interested in their votes than in the security of their lives and properties! Even in the case of the helpless Chibok girls, did the Northern Christians not see how the clueless and all his rabidly hateful SS/SE goons insult, harass and intimidate all the decent men and women who wanted to see the government do more towards rescuing the hapless girls? Did the Northern Christians, and indeed Nigerians generally, not see how the clueless and his supporters were only concerned about the political implications of the kidnapping, rather than being genuinely concerned about the fate of the hundred of the innocent girls who are being subjected to such terrifying ordeal, and the emotional trauma and anguish their parents must be going through? Yet some dim-witted supporters of GEJ still think the Northern Christians would not be wise and enlightened enough to know and understand that an incompetent, clueless and prepared leader like GEJ is not good for anybody, Christian or Muslim, Northerner or Southerner!. |
ahaika23:I was going through the posts before making my contribution, and then I came across the part of your post in bold - Buhari hates trains! I burst into laughter - and forgot about contributing to the thread, in a more meaningful way. |

theV0ice:She might be interested in the office, but surely not confident in winning it on the PDP ticket any more!. Clearly, that epic APC conference, which would go down in our political history as one of the greatest displays of our democracy in actions, has had a lasting effect on her, like it did on millions of people across Nigeria, and even beyond. In fact, since that historic APC primary election, the change momentum in favour of APC has never slowed down, just as the shattered confidence in the 'incumbency factor' in the PDP camp has never been fully recovered! |
mikeansy:You got this completely wrong! Although Buhari is a Hausa-Fulani, it is an open secret that the corrupt and morally bankrupt northern Muslim Hausa-Fulani elite hate the general and dread the prospects of his second coming as much as any rabid SS/SE ethno-religious bigot would ever hate him. So, Sule lamido was only exhibiting the venomous hatred and vile desperate mischief that a corrupt panicky character like him is expected to spit as the electoral victory of the general is becoming imminent. And you do not also seem to understand that when it comes to protecting their self-centred interests, the corrupt Nigerian elite easily jettison all their ethnic, religious and regional differences and work in amazing unity and harmony! Hence, Sule Lamido would prefer to see an Ibori, an Alamieyeseigha, an Nzerebe, a Bode George, or even a Tompolo, as the next president rather than a Buhari who would not allow not allow business as usual for the likes of Sule Lamido - and whether they are Hausa-Fulani Muslim Northerners would not matter. |

agabusta:Well, the answer is simple; it is extremely difficult for supporters of a president as clueless as GEJ to find anything else to base his re-election campaign on, apart from exploiting religious, ethnic or regional sentiments and creating fear among the people, and cheap blackmail and mischief such as this! But unfortunately for them, none of these cynical tactics seem to be working, as a result of which they get more desperate by the day. Pathetic lot! |
History will NOT be kind to GEJ for letting so many members of the cabal and the super-corrupt to get away with so much, so easily under his watch! |
Achutebe:Can you tell us the name of the person in the video? What is his position in the APC? Where was the video recorded? People would like to know answers to the above questions so as to judge for themselves, because There is nothing the GEJ supporters would not try in their desperate but futile attempts to slow down the change momentum, especially since there are no enough concrete achievements to hinge their so-called 'issues-based campaign' on. |
Abati, Okupe, Omokri, FFK and Metuh are now reduced to 'diggers' of old stories that they hope could eventually stick against Buhari and make him look bad enough in the eyes of Nigerians. But unfortunately for them, Nigerians aren't buying any of such malicious propaganda against the general. Instead, the people's general seems to be winning more hearts and minds every day. You cannot stop a surging wave of change; the same wave of change that brought GEJ into power in 2011 is exactly what will SWEEP HIM ASIDE in the forth-coming election!. |
The shameless imposter and his clueless principal know very well that NO ANY OTHER NIGERIAN POLITICIAN enjoys the amount of WIDESPREAD POPULAR SUPPORT the people's general enjoys at the moment. And they also know very well that NO AMOUNT OF MONEY can buy a politician this kind of support, otherwise BUHARI and his supporters would have been EASILY OUTPRICED by the super-corrupt. The good news for those who are yearning for change is that EVEN RENO OMOKRI is being so OVERWHELMED and OVERAWED by the HUGE and UNSTOPPABLE MOMENTUM of CHANGE that he is now showing SIGNS OF GIVING UP before the contest even starts! |
LordDarius:Don't mind the unscrupulous character. This absurd allegation is going to BOOMERANG hard on RENO and his CLUELESS PRINCIPALǃ. It would GALVANIZE even more support for Buhari, as it would INFURIATE all DECENT SUPPORTERS of the general who, contrary to this mischievous allegation, SPEND THEIR OWN MONEY, TIME AND ENERGY to bring about the change that we so desperately need. If Reno needs to be told, MOST of the young men and women who so ACTIVELY and so ARDENTLY support Buhari, and who are SO DETERMINED to vote him in as the new president of our great country, are mainly young men and women who are DISAPPOINTED by the first term performance of GEJ. They now want to TEACH a HARD LESSON to the clueless that he cannot IGNORE THE INTERESTS OF THE ORDINARY PEOPLE and so openly be SERVING THE INTERESTS OF THE CABAL and the super-corrupt, and THEN expect the SUFFERING MASSES to be supporting him as overwhelminɡly as they did in 2011. No way! |
