Abubakar Tsav
Former Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Abubakar Tsav has literally torn his Tiv kinsmen apart, describing them as bunch of parasites.

The elder statesmen was reacting to a recent statement attributed to some elders from his village, who disowned him over his recent attacks on Dr. Samuel Ortom-led government in the state.

In a statement issued on Monday, the former police boss warned his brethren to stop making comments that were only good for the recycle bin.

The statement reads: “I am amused at the press statement issued by the so-called Vandeikya Apc stakeholders allegedly condemning me for criticizing Gov Samuel Ortom for his abysmal performance for which they also claimed that they disown me.

“First of all, who are they to speak for the Kunav or Vandeikya people?
They are nothing but a bunch of parasites and self seekers who don’t even care for their own children, let alone care for the dynamic Kunav people.

“I am not in partisan politics and therefore not a card carrying member of any political party. I can not therefore be tied to the whims and caprices of a political party, I am therefore concerned about who rules us and how he rules us.

“I therefore have a right to criticize any Leader and politician who misrules my people.

“Furthermore, the Nigerian constitution allows me the right of self expression. No one has the right to stop me from excersing this right except a court of competent jurisdiction.

“If the so-called Kunav Apc stakeholders have sadly mortgaged their conscience and the welfare of their people for peanuts, then i am deeply in sympathy with them. No one can stop me from criticizing a puppet and corrupt Apc government of Benue state who are all out to subvert the CHANGE PROGRAM of president Mohammadu Buhari.

“I am deeply in sympathy with my people because we have no Leaders but sycophants, scavengers and self seekers.

“They say, I did not help any Tiv man when i was in police service, but also failed to say who their own parents helped.

“I was in the Police to arrest and prosecute offenders and I did that to the best of my ability and earned IGP’s commendation and monetary award.

“Others said I became a Muslim because I wanted to be IGP, I will not respond to this most idiotic and stupendous insinuations from idle and evil minds.

“When shall we grow and be civilized? When shall we stop being petty?”

Crime‘Abductors Of The Sun’s Deputy MD’s Wife Are Robbers’ •Gang Demands N100m by lolaxavier(op): 4:48am On Sep 15, 2015
The police in Lagos say those that abducted the wife of Mr. Steve Nwosu, the Deputy Managing Director of The SUN Newspapers, Toyin, from their apartment are robbers.

The state Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, added that the police had launched a manhunt for the gang, which he also said terrorised the Ago Palace, Okota area on Monday.

Owoseni said the police would ensure the release of the director’s wife, as well as apprehend the robbery gang.

PUNCH Metro gathered that at about 2am, the robbers stormed Baale Street, Ago Palace Way, in the Okota area, breaking into houses and dispossessing residents of their valuables.

It was learnt that the robbers also entered the deputy director’s apartment and robbed the family before abducting Steve’s 40-year-old wife, a mother of four.

Our correspondent gathered that the robbers thereafter escaped on a speedboat through a canal in the area.

Speaking with PUNCH Metro, Steve, who noted that the robbers scaled the fence into his compound, enjoined the police to ensure the release of his wife.

He said, “It was a robbery incident. They also got to other houses. The robbers came into my neighbour’s house through a ladder abandoned by a house painter. Then, they scaled the fence into my house.

“Let the police help to get my wife released.”

Our correspondent gathered that a suspected member of the kidnapping gang had got across to the family, demanding N100m.

A resident in the area, who gave his name simply as Felix, said, “The robbers stormed three houses in the area, shot for several minutes and dispossessed the residents of valuables.

“The robbers then entered the director’s apartment. They stole valuables from the house. But when they were not satisfied, they took away the woman right in the presence of the family members.

“The robbers later escaped at about 3am through the canal at the Amuwo Odofin area.”

The Commissioner of Police said the police were intensifying efforts not only to rescue Toyin, but also to apprehend the suspected robbers.

He said, “The area is still an active crime scene. The police have been there and realised that the robbers gained entrance through an abandoned ladder.

“Apart from my friend’s (Steve) apartment, two to three other apartments were robbed. It was not a stand-alone incident. The robbers then escaped through a boat. There is an element of error by neighbours painting their houses, one of who left the ladder used by the painter hanging there.

“The police had visited the crime scene, and I assure you that we will deploy all human and material resources to liberate the victim. We will also get the hoodlums.”

A Nigerian pastor based in Ghana who simply identified himself as Pastor Paul has declared that Dele Momodu, the founder of Ovation Magazine, is the next Ooni of Ife.

The pastor warned that if Momodu was not installed as Ooni of Ife there would be bloodshed in the country, he also added that, his proclamation was a prophecy he got from God.

In a telephone conversation with Bayo Onanuga, the CEO of PM News/TheNews he said: “If the Ife people refuse to crown Momodu, there will be bloodshed,” the Pastor said.

But Onanuga disagreed with him, saying: “Although Dele Momodu was born in Ife, his connection is as near as Gbongan and as far as somewhere in Edo State.”

Momodu a graduate of University of Ife, (now Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife) 1982, holds a degree in Yoruba and a master’s degree in English Literature in 1988.

In 1986, Momodu served the late Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade Olubuse II, managing the Motel Royal Limited owned by the monarch.

3. because although #DeleMomodu was born in Ife, his connection is as near as Gbongan and as far as somewhere in Edo State.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo said he left in the national treasury over N287bn, made up of $2bn, £100m and N10bn in cash and property, being the loot recovered from the late dictator, Gen. Sani Abacha.

Obasanjo left office as President in 2007 after serving two terms of eight years and handed over to the now late former President Umaru Yar’Adua.

The N287bn figure was arrived at using an average exchange rate of N125.88 to a dollar in 2007 and an average exchange rate of N247.99 to a pound in the same year.

The former President said the funds were paid into the treasury through the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Obasanjo’s revelation was contained in the Vol. II of his memoir, My Watch. His take on the Abacha loot is slotted under the sub-heading “Recovery of looted funds” on pages 494 and 495.

He said, “In total, by the time I left government in May 2007, over $2bn and £100m had been recovered from the Abacha family abroad, and well over N10bn in cash and properties locally. All were paid to the public treasury through the Central Bank.

“Enrico (Monfrini, a Swiss lawyer) told me by the time I left government that if he continued to get support for his work, there was still about $1bn he believed he could still recover from the Abacha family and cronies.”

The former President said that there was a time he got a report that £3m cash was seized from an agent of the late military dictator by customs officials at an airport in UK and that the British authorities asked the Nigerian government to prove ownership of the money.

He said the British government however refused to release the money to Nigeria despite showing details that it was taken from the CBN.

“I went to London to have a meeting on another important issue with (former British Prime Minister) Tony Blair and I took the opportunity to raise the issue of the £3m, using the Yoruba anecdote of the thief who stole palm oil from the ceiling cupboard by getting somebody to help him so as not to spill the red palm oil on himself or the floor. The man who assisted became an accomplice. Tony got the message and the £3m was released to Nigeria the following day,” Obasanjo stated.

A former finance minister in the Obasanjo administration, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, told The PUNCH last year through her Special Adviser on Communication, Mr. Paul Nwabuikwu, that contrary to reports that the sum of $2bn was recovered from the Abacha’s loot, only $500m was recovered under her as Obasanjo’s finance minister.

The minister made the clarification amid differing figures on the actual amount recovered.

For example, the pioneer Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, had in November 2006, in London, said Abacha looted over $6bn from Nigeria and that $2bn of the loot had been recovered.

He mentioned same figure in the same month during the 12th International Anti-Corruption Conference in Guatemela and later in Dakar, Senegal, at the 2nd Annual High Level Dialogue on Governance and Democracy in Africa.

Immediate past Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babatunde Fashola, SAN on Saturday drew attention of members of the public to the antics of hackers, who compromised his twitter account @tundefashola and posted four tweets in a language that resembled Japanese.
https://www.vanguardngr.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/fasho1.jpg
Early this morning, Vanguard gathered that all posts on Fashola’s official website brfashola.org, and feeds redirected to the his Twitter account, @tundefashola appeared in a similar foreign language (Japanese).

The website as at the point of gathering this report can not longer be accessed due to ‘unknown technical problems’.
https://www.vanguardngr.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/website.jpg

However, a statement signed by his former Special Adviser on Media, Mr Hakeem Bello on Saturday, revealed that the twitter account must have been compromised on Friday, as members of the public, who follow the former Governor, started calling to draw attention to the strange tweets in the early hours of Saturday.

It would be recalled that Governor Fashola also recently dissociated himself from a facebook scam, whereby some unscrupulous persons use his photographs and ascribe fictitious statements to him on fake Facebook accounts aimed at defrauding innocent people.

The call became necessary for the umpteenth time, the statement said then, in view of the activities of scammers who have been issuing out series of Facebook comments and information in his name with the intention of during unsuspecting members of the public.

The truth is human must die, but how, where and when is the issue.
Death comes even in that comfort zone.
That is not the point or lesson here. It is mainly about saving lives when there is an opportunity to do so. Negligence / poor attitude of hospital officials have cost many lives than you can imagine. The question you should ask is if you were a doctor in the hospital and your child was rushed in, would you ask that his or ID card be provided before you carry out any treatment? There should be room for sympathy, especially being a school clinic.
