Family › Re: As I'm Enduring This, Am I Really Making My Children Better? by loswhite(m): 3:45pm On Dec 23, 2023 |
Greatmind653: Pls, if you don't really understand this post, don't comment please. If you're gender bias, pls, read and ignore.
Good morning kind hearted people in the house. Pls, I need honest and matured advice from experience and knowledgeable people in the house.
How can I train my sons especially my 11yrs old boy into a good, respectful, well behaved young man in a situation where he constantly see his father in gambling addiction, and the house is not always peaceful because of this?
How can I make them believe that the fact that their father does not provide anything for them nor anything in the house, does not mean they're not good enough? My son has learnt the habit of not asking his Dad for anything no matter how little because he knows the answer already. He would rather starve than ask him for anything. Every of his needs, he will patiently wait for me.
I practically provide everything in the house and he knows. Infact my husband and my two sons can be in the house hungry for the whole day if I'm not around. Any money he has is strictly for betting. He wouldn't even use it to feed himself not to talk of his children. He eat anything I provide in the house without him providing. Most times it's very annoying. Most times, we don't talk to each other in this house, yet anything I cook, he must eat. I'm trying my best, because I can't watch my kids go hungry or stay without light, water, TV subscriptions and the rest. But once he's holding TV remote, no one dare change the channel.
How can I train well behaved young boys in a home like this? I'm so lonely and worried for my children too.
I'm no longer traumatized by his gambling addiction, because I have tried everything, and it didn't work if this is the life he wants, then fine.
I'm traveling with my two boys for the Christmas and I intend to stay in my family house for a very long time. Maybe not to return back here. This house, I shoulder the house rent, all the bills all for the sake of my children. I don't want a broken home. I don't want my children growing up lonely without the presence of their both parents. But, am I doing the right thing here? My husband has refused to change for years. all efforts, complain, family intervention all failed. He's been in gambling even before we got married. I have endure for so long and I'm scared if what I'm enduring really worth it.
I've given up either.
Am I making my children better by staying together here or they could be better when we're apart? Anyone experience this before?
What's the right thing to do here? Madam is your husband jobless? Why are focusing on gambling? You should just tell us that you are married a jobless husband madam and stop attacking gambling. |

Jewessgratitud3: Why is this a problem and why are some of you feeling so entitled and wanting to be in the know of other people's private life and plans?
The other day it was a friend complaining that his friend didn't tell him he was building a house. Abeg, Shey Dem collect money for una hand take build the house nii?
A person has the right to conceal his plans from the public until he has accomplished it and you have no right to condemn him for it. He even told you people after successfully completing his project and instead of you to be happy for him you're angry. for what? Did you have plots to t.wat his plans.
Please, never divulge your plans until it is matured and successfully accomplished because some people are dream killers and will destroy your plans even before you accomplish it..
Be happy for him. He owes non of you any explanations. When you too build your own don't tell him. To whom much is giving much is expected. If I share alot things with you I also expect the same energy...if you.like call it entitlement mentality. I can't control what ppl chooses to do in any of my relationships but I will respond appropriately. I will not complain but trust me our relationship will definitely change. It is as simple as that. |

Peter532: I don't know if I should be angry or just smile and take it as it is. This is someone that I fed, I clothed despite us being closed friends since we were kids. He knows everything about me that my parents don't even know till dates..We could go to a gathering together and I will be the one ordering and paying for everything we bought even recently because I always acted like the big bro and he accepted I guess .. Just last week I saw it on his status about is house opening invite. I later got a dm from him that same evening telling me about it that I should come through.
It came as a surprise I admit, even though I know he was doing quite well for himself. I know some will call it entitlement mentality but since I considered we were close like a brother we even ate from same plate last 2weeks, I thought I should have known atleast.
Note: I noticed so many people will come in here to call me names, even some accusing me to be someone with bad motives and sort I smile. Not everyone has a evil mindset like you or some persons you know, It's just that when you expect so much from people you hold very close to your heart you might get disappointed and it hurts badly.
Especially when you know you can't do that same thing to that person. I only brought it out here because I wanted to know maybe I'm overreacting because I feel a deep level of betrayal but hey I am happy for him and I will attend the house opening tomorrow.
File Photo for Illustration I understand the feeling but it is what it is....Next time you don't tell him anything about your private life again. |

Secondly, US do force weak countries like Nigeria covertly to take the loan.

Basicend: Through out 8 years of Buhari tenure, he never completed the rehabilitation of any of the national refineries.
He gathered all the dollars in Nigeria and gave it to Dangote to go a float a new refinery.
Buhari is hyper-miles the worst vegetable a President can be. So poor and terrible in competence.
If we can get like 3 or 4 vibrant refineries working in Nigeria within the next 2 years, perhaps price can reduce. Is it not obvious that Nigerian refineries not working is clear sabotage? Is it difficult to know that? Have you asked yourself why is the refinery suddenly going to work as soon as Dangote Refinery is coming up stream? Instead of hating on Dangote be thankful because he is the only reason the saboteurs are allowing the refinery to work finally. |

nairalanda1: We saw what happened when Saudi overpumped in 2014....oil prices crashed and put our economy in serious issues by Jan 2015
And that was because Saudi overpumped in response to the US oil industry improving production...to the point that the US no longer needed Saudi oil.
Anyway, OPEC is even becoming more irrelevant because it accounts for one third of oil production now. EVERYONE is producing oil, and EVERYONE IS pumping out oil. You skipped the question. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Angola Exits OPEC by loswhite(m): 11:36pm On Dec 21, 2023 |
nairalanda1: Anyone hailing Angola on leaving OPEC...should know it is bad news for Nigeria.
Oil prices fell on the news. Know what that means? It means Angola is free to produce and pump as much oil as it wants without any pesky OPEC quota...which means lower oil prices long term because of the resultant glut.
Angola is also free to sell crude at a lower price than the OPEC benchmark if it wants...especially if it needs the money now. (That's part of how Russia survives US sanctions, sports fans).
This weakens our revenue stream drastically, meaning we have to take more and more loans, or the government would have to raise your taxes well well, in the short term at least.
So, don't rejoice.
Modified
The thing that even scares me is the fact that everyone is discovering oil. Zambia, Uganda and even Benin have all found oil. Yes, it is not as high as Nigeria, but more oil in the market means lower prices for oil...which means lower revenue.
Modified 2
Know who benefits from a glut induced low crude price? Europe and the USA. It enables fuel prices there to fall, and their governments benefit as a result. So who benefit when Saudi pumps 10 million and other opec members are doing 1 million? |

The President intervened as a concerned citizen who wants peace. He was publicly begged by the Rivers Elders who are loyal to Fubara to intervene. If he wants to intervene as the President and Commander-in-Chief , he will just declare a State of Emergency, and appoint a Sole Administrator.
If he appoints Wike as the Sole Administrator, the National Assembly will approve it. Anybody wey wan die, make e die, the President has spoken. This was what Wike was working towards, that was why he went to Rivers State to cause himself to be attacked and chaos will start, but Tinubu cautioned Wike to let Fubara be. If not, Nyezom Wike would have returned as the Sole Administrator of Rivers State and INEC will conduct another election which will be won by Wike's new stooge.
