My God,this is barbarism, what are we becoming in this country of our's. |
Nice talking Boss,no military dictator will want to over empower the military for fear of overthrow, but a civilian president will strengthen the military because that's his backbone. |
Demdem: Of cos, an upright man can afterall an upright man isn't God that is completely perfect. A man of integrity is also a mere mortal prone to mistakes and mis-judgement. Me think u don't have a brain.OH,SO SORRY, I FORGOT,GBAJABIAMILA IS AN ACN MEMBER AND THEY PAY YOU TO DEFEND THEM BLINDLY,CARRY ON WITH YOUR WORK MY FRIEND,I GUESS IT'S TIME TO EARN YOUR PAY. |
Demdem: Of cos, an upright man can afterall an upright man isn't God that is completely perfect. A man of integrity is also a mere mortal prone to mistakes and mis-judgement. Me think u don't have a brain. My friend this is exactly what we are talking about here, the same house called for the sack of DIEZANI because of irregularities that happened under her in NNPC,If I remember correctly you were among those whose voice was heard the loudest on this issue, but now it is Gbajabiamila, whom I also remember accepted to misconduct and you ar here defending him, does this not show how biased you can be,imagine "HE TRUSTED AND SOMEONE BETRAYED HIS TRUST"so in order words if he was not caught then he should have carried on with his scam deals, dude if you support this move of the house then really you are as corrupt as the rest of them. |
Dis Guy: The big deal is that is being renovated every bloody year!!!Yes as it should be,do you know what a presidential villa is,that place is supposed to have the latest technological gadgets and equipments, that place is supposed to be the most modern, safest, and imposing structure in this country. |
By now all of you should know that NASS is very resentful to the presidency because some of them there have been there for like the past ten years, and they are used to being pampered and given preferential treatments and their choice of contracts,so it is very painful to them for this president and his minister of finance to just come and change everything on them,Jonathan forced the ciil servants to stop patronising the legislators,so no more cash gifts and co are coming their way again, especially as budget lobbying was once big business for them, why does Mark have to say that estimates that some individuals have put sleepless nights into mere figures.let them better just pass this budget for us,I can't shout. |
Nigerian and their ignorance.... Subsidizing pms is not ideal but for now, it should stay. If subsidy is removed, pms will sell for 250 Naira. For those shouting demand and supply theories or telecomms privatisation please stop showing your ignorance. 1)Demand and supply only works where you have a serious anti trust/regulatory agency. 2)Crude oil market which directly affects the price of pms is controlled by international politics not economics. 3)Refining as a business has very little profit margins hence the closure/ sale of lots of refineries in the last few years Point number 3 might not be valid in Nigeria because of point no 1 which also means the masses will still be fleeced.
In the case of Nigeria,if you were to build a refinery here in let's say KOGI,which is hinterland, the cost of transporting the crude from the well to the refinery is going to be very little compared to transporting it to let's say cote d Voir,so you see the cost of production will be next to nothing,so you see building a refinery here is a good business decision, but the only mitigating factor going against this is this subsidy being given out,it makes things too easy and not worth the stress of running a refinery. |
Subsidy is something that must eventually go,we know that we are blessed with crude oil,but the truth is that no govt which wants to grow its economy will be subsidizing petroleum imports, why not set in place policies which will boost establishment of refineries in the country, remove subsidy and subsidize the value chain of crude to fuel,so many job creation opportunities,so many entrepreneural opportunities for investors,i see a bright future and th beutiful part of it all is the fact that this govt is hell bent on getting it right, madam Iweala, more grease to your elbows, ride on. |
I mean, like seriously, these people(Sahara reporters)have actually become a joke, there is absolutely no iota of credibility associated with them again, please you people should stop posting them as links or sources of information, rather go to our fatherland.com,I believe they have better and more reliable and credible news there. |
MegaMan2020: The Igbos are a wicked people. They killed four innocent young men for NOTHING. Big shame on themWho told you Aluu people are Igbo,Abeg no more rough play, igbo's can never do what those barbarians did. |
Demdem: Crap. as miserably useless as the poster himself. What value does this add to this thread.Mr DemDem,welcome back I can see that you've logged in for the day,oya let your normal work day begin!!!!!!!start defending the indefensible.ciao!!!!!!!!. |
packman: wat an idiot in the form of human skin you are the most annoying ting about you is you read the full post yet you cant seem to understand my concernPunk, you can't even type a straight sentence of correct English and yet you come here to try and engage in issues with people who are far more intellectually advanced than you can ever be in the next 10yrs,please don't come here to spill balderdash,go and learn good English first then you can come back let's discuss. |
Dpeacemaker101: Moderator this post never reach to dey front page, abii na because say na Sahara reporters? I sense foul play oooooooooNa wa oh!!!!!me I tire o,what's with all the name calling here, dudes this forum is supposed to be for grown ups,you hear GROWN UP'S,Haba,Sahara reporters lied simple, why do some people here want to kill themselves,so dem dem,you are beign paid for real,Na wa oh,no go give yourself high bp say you dey fight cyber warfare. |
chucky234: Is Nigeria the only country importing rice? Nigeria is not on the list of Thailand's top rice buyers,GEJ should put rice facilities in place before stopping the importation of rice.Just reading this makes me want to flog you,are you even listening yourself, please tell me,which country in this modern age imports what it can produce domestically,Nigeria does not only have the capacity to produce locally to satisfy local consumption but also export and earn hard currencies in exchange,if more mills are set up to cope with the demand do you know how many jobs will be created,do you not know that this is also one of the most effective ways of creating wealth in the grassroots? I mean are you this blind? |
Late budget presentation has always been one of the excuses that everybody been giving for poor implementation, this is one area that this govt recognized and decided to set things straight,at least now that GEJ has identified this problem and has successfully solved it like he said he would,I believe this is a strong indication that he wants the budget to succeed and impact on the lives of every Nigerian, because this is a challenge that he is giving to his cabinet, they have no excuse not to implement fully now, see, the man really wants things to work in this country. |
Demdem: Am yet to see any news media (online, paper, electronic etc) that has always gotten their facts right ALL the time. Is it tribune, thisday, channels, NTA, SR or even Businessday etc U all should know that Humans like us are in charge of these facilities and are prone to error. Its left for we that consumes such info to be able to sieve whatever info we get from them.Hahaha, now that's a laugh,a one time mistake thing, yes acceptable, but two three times, now that is no longer a mistake but intentional gaffes, this is not about them making a mistake anyways,it's about them sponsoring a few individuals to try and scatter a well organized event, this is a matter of them trying to create the negative news they will post on their site by themselves,is that not desperation and hypocrisy of the first order. |
But like seriously am surprised at all you guys,is it today that you people got to know that Sahara reporters know how to publish unconfirmed stories,It seems like the money paid to omOyele sowore to blackmail this govt and so in extension this country's international image is so huge that he just sanctioned his writers and reporters to just make up any fallacy and publish.the painfully part is that some individuals will not know that they are beign purposefully deceived, and they will still believe anything they read on that web page. |
taharqa: The National Assembly Resolutions should have the force of law? Are there actuali ppl in d National Assembly arguing this?..wondas have finally endedWonders have ended bro. I thought David Mark was the only person who was dumb till I came on Nairaland. People who ordinarily should know better are wasting manhours over something as clear as resolution. If I were Maku, I won't apologise jack. Let them come and remove me. They know they can't. It's beyond their powers. After all the noise about sacking The DG of SEC, Arunma Otteh, the woman is still there. That one should be enough to teach them that their resolutions don't have weight in law. They should stop overreaching themselves. If they are serious about any change, let them pass a law to that effect and it will be obeyed. |
Bukkyade: @Op, where next do we expect the tour to berth? Keep us updated.Maidugri ![]() |
BasH Ali finish work. The guy went hard on Bala Mohammed accusing him of dodging him severally in the office. Oga Bala nearly piss for pant ![]() |
engineerd: Idiotic president blowing his own darn trumpet! Bloody fool!...This just rinks of government propaganda. As if they are doing the Nigerian citizenry a favor by building good roads and providing a decent infrastructure nationwide!!!! I don't blame them at all, the citizens deserve what they are getting. Perhaps when Nigerians start realizing they are human beings, they will rise up against the incompetent and clueless leaders imposed on them every four years! This is just preposterous....... National Good governance tour my butt!!!!Pls don't let yourself to be consumed by hatred and malice. Look at the amount of venom you are spitting over a govts decision to showcase their achievements. What is your grouse? You are not happy over these projects or what? If you are sad and live in Abj, I suggest you go and hug the new power sub station built by Jonathan in WUYE. In case that one will not serve, you may also jump into the new water treatment plant built by Jonathan. If you are still not satisfied, you may climb to the top of the World Trade Center under construction by Jonathan and jump down from there. Another easier way to show your beef for Jonathan's achievements is to go and stand in the middle of the 10 lane Airport road project or the inner southern express completed by Jonathan. Finally, you may go and lie on those railways presently under construction. BAD BELLE PEOPLE |
I stay in Kubwa. I must confirm that the FG did a good work on the outer Northern expressway a.k.a Kubwa express. It has decongested the usual vehicular traffic that we experience on a daily basis. It takes less than 30 mins to get to town as against the 1 hour plus before. The road is now always free. kudos GEJ. |
But seriously this govt is working. Let's shun sentiments. In every area of governance they hve something going on. I feel the subsidy withdrawal thing gave them a bad name. The policy was just ill timed. Aside the subsidy thing, they look impressive. Railways that have been forgotten for ages are being revived. See new metro line tracks under construction. Power is a bit stable more than before. GEJ might just be it finally |
Wow! Nice projects. If only they can successfully complete it in record time, it will ease the transportation problems of Abuja residents. Countries all over the world have efficient railway system. The military just came in and ravaged whatever was left of the railways bequeathed to us by our colonial masters. I commend Jonathan for paying serious attention to this all important mode of transport |
jmaine: OBJ and Yar Adua made more noise without result and GEJ is making lesser noise with tangible results, well laid out and followed plan for all to see . . .The only noise they said the man is making is that he lets the general public know what the govt they elected into power is doing,he carries the populace along like a democratic president is supposed to do.And by the way when it comes to making noise is it not the opposition parties that ran to pay agents to invade the social media and start creating negative hype, are they not the once attacking every step that GEJ takes, the man only comes out to defend his policies only when he has to.When it comes to noise PLEASE we all know who the loudest noise makers are. |
But on a serious note, anybody who refuses to acknowledge the fact that the GEJ administration is actually doing its utmost best to get grinding this Nigeria of ours that had previously grounded to a halt and shut down and even rusted, they are simply oiling the wheels by putting in place the right policies and measures,it might seem slow at the beginning but I believe that as things get along the momentum will pick up and everything will begin to become vivid,I believe that by 2015 we might actually be congratulating this admin. |
My area for kubwa dey get light 24/7. The only time that light went off for a day was due to the transformer. After PHCN came and repaired it, we are enjoying constant light. Kudos GEJ. |
uzomagic: To have a rethink, one must first be capable of thinking. That said, a rethink for kobojunkie is impossible. To tell KOBOJUNKIE to stop telling lies is like telling a fish to breathe outside water, how do you expect him to survive, someone whom you can see has been made lying and false propaganda a profession |
VoodooDoll: If GEJ does even half of those things I will open bottles of Bollingers and Crystal for pro GEJ people, but I know that he wouldn't, and that the situation will even be worse with even more poverty, more dead, and more terrorism. You are a prophet of doom,it won't work for you, your plan has failed. |
The willingness and the accelerated approach of the govt in respect to the PIB shows that this govt really wants to sanitize the oil industry, because the simple truth is that despite all said and done if that bill was not submitted to NASS for passage into law then everything being said to be done in that sector could as well be said to be null and void, with this bill comes the transparency and accountability that we as Nigerians crave for in that sector, this could be said to be another step in the right direction by the executive,it is now up to the legislative to give this bill an accelerated hearing. |
It's too bad sha o,but the TWITTER MALLAM has discredited himself that people have gotten tired of listening to him,he doesn't take his time to actually criticize policies but just hurls abuse abuses at the person of the president which is something a statesman would never do,the republicans hate obama's gut like hell but none of their leading politicians will ever come out to publicly abuse him not to talk of hurling insults at him on twitter like our childish MALLAM does here like a primitive man who just discovered twitter yesterday and then he wants to tweet his life out inorder to catch up with those people that we're tweeting since.very soon if people see his tweets they will just hiss and move on to the next one. |

I can see that you've logged in for the day,oya let your normal work day begin!!!!!!!start defending the indefensible.ciao!!!!!!!!.
