When I was In secondary school I remember seeing a lot of my classmates dating each other. It was really a thing then and if you didn't have a boyfriend or girlfriend you would be mocked and ridiculed. Many commuted abortions for their boyfriends and some guys stole for their girlfriends. where are the couples now? Most do not even talk to each other again so what was the point? Why date when you know the chances of being together in the future is very slim?

Least I forget,to the OP if your still reading this I have to tell you that your case is very delicate. The question is how much is 2.5k to you? If it is really little then I will advise you to take a leap of faith with your husband, pay the money and see what happens. I don't want to conclude that he is scamming you because he may genuinely care for you and maybe the reason he didn't tell you about the business is because he wanted to surprise you. But that's one theory the other is that he is a scammer and just wants to exploit you. But you also have to take into consideration the fact that you have been together for 8 good years if he wanted to he would have found someone that would have given him the visa easily years ago. This is really tricky and I don't blame you for having doubts cause 3 in 5 of cases like this are usually fraud cases but you also have to remember that the remaining 2 always end beautifully. Also nairaland is not the place to take your matters to most of the people here are frustrated people and would not give you good advice even I can't advise you. As for talking to your husband about this I think this would be the best cause everyone you tell will always judge this partially and would want to stand with their person. That's why you got the reaction you got on this thread. Most people read your story and didn't see it how you saw it most people saw a chance redeem their people of the fraud title attached to Nigerians.

I laugh in Spanish! Believe it or not 80% of the victims of yahoo are Nigerians. This is a fact most people like to ignore. This is a fact fraudsters like to cover up. How many of us here can say we have never received that BVN text message which tells us that our ATM has been blocked? Most of us are smart not to fall for the trick but we have to think about those that are not so lucky and get their whole life savings wiped. Peoples phones get stolen and their bank accounts hacked through their sims and all their money gone in this same Nigeria! Some peoples properties sold illegally to more that 5 people by fraudsters who claim to be them leaving them in a legal mess. A lot of Nigerians have committed subside due to this. So if most victims of the yahoo boys are Nigerians then how exactly do they bring foreign exchange to the economy? You to realise that the white people are not as dumb as before and do not fall for those tricks they try on them right? Let us be truthful to ourselves, yahoo boys are not better than murders.

If when america was an undeveloped and brutal country, all the Americans were looking for visas to travel out of their countries instead of trying to make it better, american and all the other developed countries would not be where it is today. One thing about Nigerians is that we only bark with no action. Most people want a readymade country but the truth is that until we stop licking our politicians asses and start taking actions Nigeria will never be great.

Because of a bully's words, he's allowed himself to be seduced/goaded into violence. Unfortunately, because he is black in a white country, he is going to suffer the consequences of this choice for a long time:

- he might be looking at suspension, if not outright expulsion
- they will mark his records as being violent
- if he complains in class, the teacher might write a note that she fears for her life
- if he so much as steals candy, they will look at his record and give him maximum jail time
- when it's time to look for work, get a mortgage, or run for office... guess what? Yes, there's a database with his record in it.
- if he dares make a police officer nervous, he will be killed.

So much for "winning" on the playground. Oyinbo may lose a fight to you, but they will make it their life's mission to destroy you over time.

Somebody very very close to me went through this same thing as a young teenager (letting his anger get the better of him in oyinbo land) and is still suffering the consequences as an adult.

Well I think in order to avoid a situation where there will only be one person with the accident victim why can't a bunch of people follow the person that is taking the accident victim to the hospital?even if the car is full why can't they use their car and follow the person ? If more than 20 people of all age group take an accident victim to the hospital the police can't possible say all of them killed and some should video the accident as evidence .

Am sorry but her story doesn't add up.if she truly copied the chats from her husbands phone and sent them to him pretending to be the woman's husband,wouldent the husband have known that the chats were copied from his phone? We news to understand that some spouses are unrepentant cheats. Things like this might put some spouses off cheating in their partner but to most, they will just avoid this person and continue to cheat.we need to stop condoneing cheating partners.
