looool i can imagine, how many phone cards are you going through in a week now?lool i have been there o not nice at all naija ppl can frustrate you!
don't worry now, is it not una area?they can't do without multiple parties at least every weekend, any excuse for party

with the way the guy is going,i have concluded that my few pounds savings is safer in guarantee trust bank than in this country,so i am really working on my nigeria project now more than before i don't want to start developing emergency grey hair on account of stress.its people who are subject to immigration control i feel for see as theresa may in her scare-mongering at the tory conference started lying through her teeth, immigration is being blamed for their failures now.

nigeria was awesome and stressful o,i was able to get some foundations laid soon as i cut out all those daily alcohol and clubbing sessions, a lot of ppl were disappointed but i don't care na dem get their mouth lool one thing i discovered with the charity thing is that,

.it will require much more time and commitment than i though at first if i am to do it right, but i was able to secure some commitment from my dad and a few ppl close to me so what i am doing now is to sort of weave it into my own personal business and other small small ventures i am involved in. you know like a skills workshop offering free training in photography when i am on ground and my studio set up properly, its an hobby but turning into a business so anytime from 2013 any wedding, burial e.t.c don't forget your paddy o i will be fully on ground 10% ref feral fee to you grin

working on 2 other projects as well presently but being very very cautious and taking my time especially with nigeria and money issue. one has to be extremely cautious they don't want to know we are struggling and not dangote or otedola level lool

everything being equal by GOD'S grace,i will be making an extended trip again this time next year to coincide with my dad's big birthday party and a cousin's wedding for a couple of months to put some stuffs concerning the above projects in place,so no nigeria from now till then na to dey save money.in fact my hand will be tighter than bank of england now grin

you need to make an unscheduled visit at least once to be sure your project is going according to plans o,if not you will be courting disappointment you can't effectively monitor naija people with phone calls only unless you have someone absolutely honest and upfront which is like finding £50 note on the street of london
Politics / Re: Shameful Culture Of Prostitution Among Nigerian Females In Europe by lucabrasi(m): 10:02pm On Nov 17, 2011
eGuerrilla:

There are so many casual factors as others have already mentioned on this thread.

But even so, it is hard to deny a common denominator to all these cases is a desire to break out of poverty at ANY cost.

Prostitution, in the minds of most of these women, is seen a means to achieving a veritable end, to begin with.
It is common knowledge that the proceeds of this profession - certainly in the early years when it first took hold in Europe - birthed many sprawling mansions all over Southern Nigeria, with extended communities benefiting from remittances sent by its practitioners.

@bolded
this is precisely where the problem lies, like i stated in one of my previous postings, riches or a good quality of life is relative to an individual's interpretation of it.when a lady is looking to build a mansion or four flats within 3/4 yrs of her sojourn in europe within whatever means she can, that becomes pure greed.in this situation it starts bordering on crime in which case poverty cannot be used as an excuse.because lets be honest where really does it end if poverty is used as an excuse??
there was a time when these women were exploited and trafficked by organised gangs in the 1990s but in the 2000s until the present moment the awareness is so great now that no one can come up to say they didn't have an idea of what they were travelling to europe especially europe for.
eGuerrilla:

How do we break the cycle now?
in my own opinion, the causal effects starts from their immediate family and their core values, this has to be tackled because when parents begin to think the only way their female children can survive in europe is through prostitution rather than working hard at a career or business something is fundamentally wrong somewhere, its not like there are no nigerian females in italy and other eu working hard to earn a living, but they more often than not are tarred with same brush due to the activities of the ones prostituting.
eGuerrilla:

The Nigerian Government needs to make a clearer commitment, rather than abnegating its responsibilities and leaving the task of educating local communities to NGOs.
It is also time the Diaspora, which contributes so much FDI annually, gets proper representation and not simply a non-functioning house-committee.
totally agree with this, but the problem again are the nigerian madams who live in italy, they go back to their home states flaunting their wealth to entire the young impressionable girls.the funny thing is that young men are also trafficked in italy as well according to my friend.
the older rich nigerian madams bring young virile men from nigeria lock them in their houses and then buys them clothes ,feed and house them e.t.c their only jobs is to be used as sex objects and then taking them to show off and compare at parties.
eGuerrilla:

Personally, I would suggest appointing a Czar (it has to be a woman) with a proven track record in the area of women's rights, to head up a new agency with a clearly defined goal of reducing the outflow of young women from Nigeria.
lets hope the edo state govt will will begin to take pro active steps matching the european union efforts, hon abide dabiri erewa is supposed to be in charge of diaporean affairs in the federal house of reps but she seems lukewarm
eGuerrilla:

I held back from posting the following article last week, but consider it pertinent to the discussion on this thread.
Source: http://www.independent.ie/national-news/courts/motherofthree-who-sent-schoolgirl-for-sex-with-man-64-is-jailed-for-six-years-2927897.html
now that the authorities are on the case,I'm sure the girl will be fully rehabilitated and hopefully recover from the horrific experience having said that cases like this are gradually becoming the minority with the latter above increasingly being the majority

Bliss4Lyfe:

Look the Uk is not a place were crimes are covered up and if this couple have in anyway mistreated their kids we definitely would have heard about it by now and dey will never finish talking about it.
yea but they have placed an allegation of being a sex worker upon the woman, for them to have taken the children off them means they would have had enough evidence, remember these councils often don't take any action unless there is glaring proof that the children might be affected? the climbie case, the baby p case and several others comes to mind. the allegations against the council in these cases were that they didn't do enough on time.
while to an extent i am speaking based on a realm of speculations, nevertheless the onus is on the woman and her husband to prove the allegations wrong and show conclusib=ve proof that they are capable psychologically of thing care of the children which they are yet to do, crying wolf and playing the victim won't do much to convince.
Bliss4Lyfe:

I am not keen on speculations or quick to attach credibility to any government institution because we are all too aware of institutional racism in the Uk and the height bigotry can scale in the west, nobody is naive here.
well, with this kind of case where we are not being given enough facts to chew on especially by the  musas,we can only speak based on a certain level of speculations since we are not present there or privy to the facts of the case.
but there are measures in place to tackle institutional racism in any organisation in the whole of the uk,besides at every step in the council/govt bureaucracy there is always someone who has to okay any action, hence the reason some officials resign when something happens on their watch, in this case i believe that for such action not only to be suggested but okayed means there is probable cause to resort to such.
lets be factual here,in the uk we both know what council will send the police to seize a new born baby in the hospital from a minority ethnic woman knowing the likely backlash?
remember stepehn lawrence's case which highlighted institutional racism in the first place is still hot in the dailies this week in fact?
Bliss4Lyfe:

There is no case on this couple substantiated and hence no news or report. The only case seems to be that of the couple against the council all over the web. Do u care to explain that, Paediatrician eGuerrilla?(reindeer)
exactly this means that we can only comment, judge whatever based on what the council have alleged the muss have not shown any reason to disprove the council's allegation.
in their whole statement, all you will find there are just conjectures, playing the race card without any real retorts concerning the allegation brought against them.
what i was expecting to get from the musas was an introduction about how everything happened, the reason why the council came to such conclusions and then disprove every single point the council raised

i showed a nigerian work colleague who just arrived from italy this thread, and he couldn't stop laughing especially the part where some are making comments that the girls are being forced to prostitute against their will.
he said not only do the girls do it without any form of pressure, they jazz themselves up and charm mostly italian men who part with large sums of money as soon as they have slept with the girls, their parents prepare charms for them to use on their patrons and even other parents lobby for the established ones to take their daughter abroad to practice prostitution.

he actually got all this from a girl who was still actively in the business,he even catalogued how the craze to build four flats in nigeria drives most of those girls do some so many unprintable, anyone who thinks the girls are being forced needs to remove their rose tinted glasses and smell the coffee!!

this again shows the futility and absurdity of relying on an individual or a set of people to change our fortunes.untill each and everyone of us makes the personal conviction rather than expecting one man or woman to fight for us they will make noise with one side of their mouth while feathering their nest with the other.
i always laugh when i read the sanctimonious speeches by the lady who heads the RISE organisation and her cohorts, i don't see them or their efforts touching the down trodden, vulnerable nigerians yet they will mount the soap box making noise taking photos with the rich, wealthy capons of industry and claim to fight for the common man/woman
Politics / Re: UK Police Seize Day Old Nigerian Baby & Five Siblings by lucabrasi(m): 9:48pm On Nov 16, 2011
i have read the issue in passing but as much as i have reservations about the authotirites in the uk,i know for a fact that they would never take such a sensitive step without some form of evidence directly linking the woman to said allegations.
the british police are not lawless like our nigerian police and every single order made by a constabulary has to be justified and defended hence they don't take it lightly.
same goes for the child services as well.

second why would a borough seek to hold on to ,feed and take care of 5 children including a new born baby in these era of recession when all the boroughs are trying to cut costs unless there is something behind it?

i find it totally funny that they would be given the option of applying for british passports so that there children can stay in uk, im sorry i don't believe that, not in this era of immigration clamp down, both adults and children who are non eu are clamped in different detention/removal centres so i don't see why they will single this particular family out to offer them british passports.

i believe it will give much more clarification if the husband and wife stated the true version of events,I'm sure the haringey services will have their faults in the matter but stating that they are completely innocent and the police and council services just marched in one day to seize their children in a law abiding society is not only mind boggling but totally absurd

i do not have statistics and cannot comment on it with real certainty truth is i do NOT know. wht i do NOT know is a lot more than what i know.
from what you have written it is clear you think you know so much and really know very little on the subject
you even pronounce on who is in the majority.

no i  do not know  you but you talk with so much certainty about what you know so little.
no one said prostitution is not rampant it is rampant worldwide. everywhere
you say majority .how do you know did you do a census? that is what you want to believe
you are so sure and certain and it is clear you know so little. that is not an assumption it is manifest in everything you say. i am not out to show myself so i will not say anymore
exactly what you accuse me of doing(making assumptions) is what you do for this girls.

you are a  one. i am done with you. write a book if you like
i really don't care one way or another what you think on the subject, all i know of the subject is what i have written,in case you have forgotten you responded to my comment not the other way round .
you are entitled to your opinion however valid or flawed they might be ,same has mine if yo can't stomach other people having a contrary opinion to yours then you might very well go live on a deserted island.
i will strongly advise you not to place blanket assumptions on any subject whatsoever,it highlights one's ignorance on the particular subject
Politics / Re: Shameful Culture Of Prostitution Among Nigerian Females In Europe by lucabrasi(m): 12:37am On Nov 15, 2011
^^^^^^
you seem to be making a whole raft of assumptions about an individual you know absolutely nothing about?

obviously there are real victims of child trafficking no one has argued that, this does not discount the fact that majority have a say/choice in what becomes of them.

dude, you don't know me so don't make assumptions,i am also making my comments based on those i have met who have either lived in italy or still live there or former madams.
how exactly did you conclude by a couple of comments that i have never been to italy before?
is it right for me to assert that you have never been to italy before as well based on your contrary opinion to mine?surely this doesn't make any sense

did you see the documentary i think on bbc or channel 4 sometime this year?the reporter told the girl in clear terms what she would be doing in italy and what was the girl's answer?she said she does not mind!you can still search for the documentary on youtube and watch it in your free time.
i will advice you to stop seeing things from rose tinted eyes as well and ask people who are indigenes of edo, benin and other places where majority of these girls hail from.
they own the mansions, luxury cars, shopping complexes even their parents help them with diabolical stuffs that will and are being used on european customers to make them part with large amounts of money.

pls go and find out how much these girls and their parents pay in the full knowledge of what they are going there to do,
lets forget about the madams sponsoring them for a moment, what about the girls who out of their own volition go through libyan deserts just so they will enter into europe through spain? were they coerced as well??

the university undergraduates who roll with aristos were they co erced?

by your handle i can see you live in the uk,pls go to university of kent in canterbury and find out how many young nigerian girls some not more than 22 who are being sponsored there by their aristos, if you know anyone who passed out or was in the university within the last 4 yrs i will name some girls and even a girl whose aristo bought her a flat in town

when you are looking at an issue you have to be balanced and not biased for every girl being forced to prostitute do you know how many do this out of their own free will?

this is not about what human beings are capable of its about people making clear choices, some will reason that they will rather get paid for what they are giving out for free.
some will reason that fi they can make x amount of money in nigeria then in europe they will make x amount of money within a specific time frame
the same way a mechanic carpenter believes he is going there to practise his skills thats the same mind set some girls have.

go to unilag with a nice car in the evening without talking girls will approach you, same goes for many higher institutions
go to ogun state university undergraduates maintain hotel rooms paid for all through the month in lagos

prostitution is a vice which is rampant amongst nigerian girls so we should stop deceiving ourselves
Politics / Re: Shameful Culture Of Prostitution Among Nigerian Females In Europe by lucabrasi(m): 11:35pm On Nov 14, 2011
aribisala0:

plausible but i am afraid rather naive. truth is many young children are still sold across africa
many are in lagos as houseboys/girls. it is the same in gabon and ivory coast. a lot are used to work on farms or similar tasks. often they are sold by parents or so called guardians.
one doe not need to go to europe to see it. the money does not enter the hands of the kids.
in lagos there are places you can Be Intimate with kids of 10 11 12  for money
in many african countries like cameroun e.g white people come as tourists specifically for this . i am not saying everything is the same all i am saying is please spare us this sitting with my key board this is exactly how all of life is routine. there are hundreds of stories out there. quite often there are no choices. i know i have seen . i wasn't told
i am not burying my head in the sand saying child trafficking does not exist,it is obvious that it is going on and the most vulnerable i.e children and women are the victims hit hardest.however we must be clear and precise in our submissions.

first off,nigeria/african and the situations inherent concerning the issue of trafficking is totally different from that of italy and the rest of europe, clear distinction
second in europe don't forget there are several organisations, police squads put in place to combat child and women trafficking, there are also psychological help in place and safe houses precisely to help these women and children.the debate on here is not about victims in africa but in europe massive difference.

if you check the nairaland homepage you will see an article about a sister who murdered her blood sister over an aristo,

some months ago we heard of the banker who committed suicide because a rich aristo would not marry her,

on some blogs about 3 months or so ago there was a girl who was bathed with hot oil by her friend over aristo

and I'm sure you heard or read about the girls on twitter abusing each other and saying all sorts which became a massive thing online

the point of my preamble is that the girls doing this kind of job in europe had that mind set before they left this country.the few examples i have given above are young girls both in nigeria and abroad, many of them from well to do/wealthy homes who should ordinarily be insulated from poverty and any such ills which might push them to prostitution.

i will use a similar correlation like i have used before, when a guy before travelling out vows to build 10 mansions after 5 yrs abroad by any means,he gets abroad and becomes a yahoo yahoo or 419,will you accept an excuse as tenable that he was forced to it because he borrowed money to get a visa?or because he was threatened? its the mind set he left nigeria with manifesting in what he is prepared to do to get a lot of money within a short time with a minimal amount of effort

qadaffi developed libya and provided his people with the highest standard of living in africa, nigeria has been ruled for approximately 41 years out of its 51 years of so called independence by northeners who have done absolutely nothing for the vast majority of the population of nigeria, qadaffi was a revolutionary who liberated his country from a british puppet who collaborated with the british to steal his country's wealth, the northerners in nigeria smashed a coup orchestrated by a group of young nationalist majors who would have liberated nigeria from the british enslavement - i dont know whether you cant see that you are still in bondage - the only difference is that your slave master looks exactly like you.

qadaffi was overthrown by a group of al qaeda racists who were armed and financed by british and american intelligence agencies because qadaffi refused to allow the imf to reduce his people to slaves -

contrast that with how your govt has reduced its own peoples to slaves in their own land on behalf of the world bank, imf, shell bp, exxon mobil and all the western controlled multinationals

al qaeda now runs libya - these criminals are the arab equivalents of the ku klux klan or the nazis.

america and britain dont give a f.ck about you all they want is your oil and even if it means imposing a gang of genocidal maniacs to rule over you they will do it in order to achieve their aim, you do not have democracy in nigeria - you are living under a tyrannical system of govt which is aided and abetted by the europeans and americans.

i only used ghadaffi as an example, however while i also admire a lot of gbadaffi's political beliefs the stark truth of the matter is that if his own people albeit a section f them did not kick start the revolution as it were, then al qaeda will not have been able to get a foot hold in libya talk less of infiltrating or leading any revolt.

i also disagree with you that al qaeda is ruling libya simply because the likes of usa and uk,france will not sit by and let libya be turned into another pakistan or worse iran it is obvious that libya is going to be a strong ally in the middle east just like qua tar and will be used as a launch pad and also to checkmate iran and any other middle eastern countries that might have ideas, the western conquest is much more than oil but political ideals, they have egypt now libya, iraq very soon syria and so on practising democracy/capitalism

going back tot eh question of nigeria,in my opinion nigerians might appear docile and resigned to their fate but when push comes to shove they always manage to stand up and fight for what they believe in a few instances,

obasanjo's third term agenda, apart from the political manoeuvres,a lot of protests and shoutings

m.k.o abiola's annulment

ibb,s transition to a civillian leader until he was forced to "step aside"

revolutions don't take a day,in fact they might take years festering before exploding, so the fact that all these are happening in nigeria doesn't mean that the average nigerian can't do anything.

who belived the niger delta could do anything/remember some of their leaders were hanged by abacha yet the sky didn't drop down, but when they started even the while world took notice of them

it is easy to be smug in front of a computer. the real world is different.
not every LovePeddler does it willingly.
have you spoken to or interviewed any. some arrive in europe at 13,14 and their passports are seized. some are locked up. some have babies seized . etc many of these girls come direct from villages in Edo state after swearing oaths with their parents' consent. it is not as simple as you think
the analogy with armed robbery does not work.
prostitution is legal in most european countries

the real issue is that many of these girls are illegal migrants brought in by gangs and so they cannot work legally
there are lots of brazilian and polish LovePeddlers just like there are nigerian farm workers. in london all nationalities are represented in prostitution
difference is many nigerians are brought in by human trafficking cartels who can and do kill to set examples .
they spend money on travel documents and airfare and they intend to be paid typically up to $80000 per girl over many years. of course not every girl they bring in is rewarding ; some are deported, run away, die etc so they have to be ruthless
so find out more so you can talk from an informed perspective.
in italy it is very serious business involving the camorra mafia they take a cut . much of this information is on the internet and you can talk to naija guys on ground too

in the early days this scenario you have painted was rampant especially in italy and this is basically because it was an underground thing that the government did not know existed. now the italian government know this exists and are pro actively working to nip it in the bud. the italian government have structures in place specifically to safeguard vulnerable girls besides this, unless a girl is blind, deaf and dumb in nigeria of 2011 there is absolutely no way she won't know what goes on in italy, hence saying you were told that you are going to get a proper job is being economical with the truth, a woman comes into your village and picks only girls no men for years on end to italy and you have no idea whats going on?

its just like the over used excuse prostitutes give when asked why they are in prostitution, they say they are using it to fund their way through school or have to take care of their family or because there are no jobs.

i agree with you that a lot of money is involved, however this is precisely what attracts those girls into doing it,especially as employment is hard to find in italy, spain e.t.c a self respecting girl will rather do any menial job rather than sell herself for thousands of dollars.the point is that there are choices and they have simply decided to go for the more lucrative choice.

no one is judging them but the simple fact of it is that there is not excuse for prostitution.if polish, estonian, brazillian e.t.c girls can work in factories,in farms to earn money without resorting to prostitution then nigerian ladies have absolutely no excuse.its like saying an armed robber has an excuse for involving him/herself in that vice

How many are there from the uk sef? undecided [/color]
exactly my point, the fact that he was able to overcome the discrimination artistes of colour face in the uk,go to the states and then achieve success there says a lot about his acting abilities.if hotness was the yardstick for his success then I'm sure there are more than enough in the usa 1 million times better than him.people like chiwetel ejiofor and this dude that was in blood diamond and i think east enders tried but they didn't achieve elba's level of success at least so far so in my book i believe the guy has earned his pips

LOL. You are comparing 9ja with Arabs? Na OYO o. They will accompany you to the location where you set yourself ablaze. And they will all go home to discuss what they witnessed and laugh about "that ode that burned himself like suya".
well when push comes to shove don't be surprised that nigerians will even do more than the arabs.where you in nigeria during the abiola/hope 93 riots?
besides look at libya, they allowed a single man to rule them for over 40 yrs something that will never have stood in nigeria yet when they rose up they defeated ghadaffi

Where are their fathers and brothers?

It takes alot of self disciple and a lil' of fear of God for a poor young lady in Nigeria to be able to say pros.titution.

No jobs, getting basic education or handiwork is expensive, uncles wont even help without getting a piece of the pie, boyfriends wont help either(some guys actually encourage their babes to do it) plus the general rot in our culture, the rot of worshipping money and affluence.

@Lucabrasi,You are so mistaken if you think those your babes @ ikeja under bridge are innocent.Whoring get levels for naija and some of those P's have a sort of day work or the other. They braid hair,do sales girl, sell cigar by day the hawk their kini by night.

Greed,IMO is the main motivating factor.Poverty comes close though to some extent.

Anyhoo, its simple law of demand and supply. We can snort here all we want but when its dark, all men are black
.
im not saying all the girls working at a normal day job are innocent, after all prostitutes can be found amongst the hollywood artistes, bankers, even the medical profession but they are in the minority same as the girls under the bridge e.t.c
my point is that it is a conscious choice which those girls have made for easy money.its the same thing as a guy taking to armed robbery or yahoo yahoo to make ends meet.what i don't buy in the least is the often over used excuse that they are doing it due to the economy.they are not the only girls suffering you need to see how hard working girls from the eastern block work in europe and the uk they will do any job at all factory, cockle picking strawberry picking e.t.c while our own nigerian girls want to build ten mansions in a year

even though i have a job paying what you and your whole family can only dream of ,i will rather be jobless here than be a local thug-for hire, failed entrepreneur soap maker in a run down area of ikorodu.
I'm sorry i will have to decline, the left part of yaba is meant specifically for insane people which you qualify for but i don't.
i dont blame you for not reading cause there is a limit to your reading capabilities and you have gone past it since the second page which is patently obvious by your disjointed comments and retorts

Phenomenal success? Uhuh.  Ok grin
didn't realise you were on about women, and btw all i did was help you to clarify your comments rather than generalising it.though we are referring to a specific person here??
success is relative so maybe he isn't a success or a phenomenal success in your own estimation until he wins 10 oscars.how many black actors are that successful in the united states from uk?

richard branson said this himself in an interview.he said he will only fly first class or whatever equivalent it is on his plane if there is a spare seat.there is absolutely nothing wrong in flying first class but when it gets to the stage where you disappoint your fans and organisers who have been waiting for you then it becomes arrogance.
i know dbanj in the days of hoping on london buses, cabs and even don jazzy in the days of sleeping on sofas e.t.c so its not like he was born with a silver spoon or he is totally used to first class travel all his life, he only attained this level of success about 5/6 yrs ago for crying out loud

wyclef is richer than the whole of mo hits, same as bono of u2,same as cold play's chris martin and a host of others but they are so real and down to earth and don't make these sort of outrageous demands

totorimi:

The greastest enemy we have in this country today are the youths of this nation. They have failed woefully. We sit back and blame past leaders for our situation. Unaccomplished dreams, bleak future and all. We curse and swear for them to die a painful and bitter death. Does that solve the problem. Even if they die now I mean IBB, OBJ, Buhari,Shonekan, Abdulsalam and the rest of them have they not all attained the biblical age of 70, in other words they have ran the race and fought the good fight and they can all beat their chest and say I have etched my name in the sand of time.Forever and ever their names will go down in history whenever and wherever the story of Nigeria is written. Today the average youth of today will count him or hrself blessed to reach 70 with all the challenges of our time. I say again the youths of Nigeria of today are the greatest threat Nigeria has. Todays youth are a disgrace and a big let down be it the elites amongst us or the everyday youths on the street. We have been brainwashed, interested in the fake life and hiding under mask to throw tantruns, they throw bombs, write all sorts without making any positive move to guarantee our future and the coming generation. At the present we have seen what is happeneing in our nation, what contributions have the youths made both those within and outside the government. Yes we do have youths in government where is the youthful zeal, where are the youthful ideologies, none rather we see complacency both within government and outside government. Those outside are afraid they are grumbling without taking any action for positive change. Those within are stealing and not bothered about the future of the coming generation. So sad indeed, all we do is live our fake lives and make empty threats of been the future of Nigeria, what future if i may say a bleak one indeed. The youths yes all of us should go bury our heads in shame, because we have failed the country. We have the power, we have the strength, we have the know how to fix Nigeria once and for all. The youths in the Arab world have shown us the way to do it. We can collectively make that change we want for our country. I recall how the youths of Nigeria of old stood up in one voice and said no to OBJ during the ' Ali must go' era at the end of the day we got the change we needed. Yes sacrifices must be made for our freedom. There is no peace without war. The youths of Nigeria must stop lamenting and rise up, its our future its our country we have no other we must fight for her future and progress. We cannot continue to wallow in self pity and allow wasted people to mislead us with religious and tribal sentiments. We must unite as youths and make that positive change we need. The mistakes of the past have gone and we have learnt our lessons. Never again should anyone say the youths of this country cant rule Nigeria, never again should anyone shut our universities and have their own kids abroad, never again should anyone ignore the potentials of the youth, never should people steal our money, sack the youths from work while they and their cronies are looting the treasury, never again should our wives and children die in our hospitals while they fly abroad for the slightest ailment, never again should the youths of Nigeria be looking older than their fathers. Never Again. So let us confine the old brigade where they belong, ignore them let them live with their concience let them see where they have led us to. This is the present, those who are there today let us hold them by the jugular to deliver on their promises or we use our strength to show them the way out. No time for dolling. Thats my own take on this thread. IT is well with Naija.
its not enough to blame the youths for the myriad of problems besetting nigerian presently,it takes a single person to kick start whatever revolution to take our destinies back.rather than your comments why don't you volunteer to kick start and see if people will not follow you.it took a single individual setting himself on fire to kickstart the middle east revolution.
let us stop this shifting of blames and take pro active steps,

what i am not confident enough or prepared to do,i don't blame other people for it

If u feel its bad 4 these girls 2 hustle abroad, y not create jobs in Nigeria. I hate dis topic because @ the end of de day 'man must wak'
are they the only ones feeling the effects of the downturn in the nigerian economy?
what of the young ladies under the ikeja bridge braiding hairs?
what of the young girls hawking food, the ones washing mud off peoples feet e.t.c
my paternal grand parents died when my dad was only 10 years old and his junior sister 8 years old and they both did all manner of works and got scholarships till they acquired an education why didn't she go into prostitution?
if you have been to all these european countries and seen what our nigerian ladies do you ll be ashamed
strangest:

@poster
so you saw a group of 20 women and you concluded that they are all nigerians, How did you reach to that conclusion? Did you go closer to them as in patronizing them? Or maybe you went through their passports? There is still a part that is missing in your story, No offence
i have been to italy before so its true they are nigerian ladies.if you go to all these european countries you will be ashamed to call yourself a nigerian because its a real shame nigerians are not the only people suffering the eritreans are more than nigerians in italy and suffer worse than they but you don't see them on every street corner
Pharoh:

So on point but the Nigerian mentality will never let them see that.
true its an inborn thing for instance the americans and the british govt warned of an impending book haram attack, instead of nigerians to take steps to safeguard security wise they are arguing with and questioning the alert.

go for it,nigerians love trying out new stuffs especially if it already exists abroad my brother and his wife runs a few outlets of healthy shakes in lagos airport and movie theatres in lagos, not only are they successful but they both said the average nigerians, politicians, even one or two governors have stopped over to encourage them especially once ppl learn they relocated from abroad the only problem you might have is with staffs and sustainability
