Sorry, but even with all the spraying, those juju musicians (sunny and obey) still carried lukudi back in the days whn no one seemed to care  embarassed
dunno what lukudi is,but if you witness the kind of money sprayed on these fuji and juju artiste its not out of place, and is within their means to buy luxury vehicles and build houses with what they make.imagine someone like king sunny are who can make upwards of 1 million naira just on spraying alone and he will do like 2-4 parties every single weekend

what else and the female among them sleep around with politicians
bunch of bad role models
i tire o,i can excuse the likes of the juju/fuji musicians because we all see where they make money they are sprayed wads of naira notes by their fans but for an hip hop artiste like kc fresh or whatever i am struggling to see how they are able to build houses in a prime location in lagos running into millions if not tens of millions and also using not one but several luxury vehicles?all this without an album selling in the market or getting regular shows or concerts

Romance / Re: Why Don't Women Go Back Home To Marry? by lucabrasi(m): 4:23pm On Oct 13, 2011
@coogar
reading your responses i couldn't help but make a comment to correct your impression about nigeria and nigerian men generally.
from what i have read of your comments it seems you have not been to nigeria in a long while hence are suffering a partial or total disconnect from what is on ground.i live and work and studied in the uk both undergrad and post grad but i do travel to nigeria at least once a year.

first of all the reason you don't get more women getting married to nigerians resident in nigeria has nothing to do with the reasons you have mentioned,it is because of the different cultures, most women who have lived abroad are used to the behaviour of the western man i.e being caring, helping out and stuffs as opposed to the average nigerian man who is still conservative and old fashioned in their outlook they still expect the woman to cook and clean and do the necessary house wife duties.

the second reason is because most men who are even averagely successful have already being hooked in nigeria, the chances of finding a man who has an ok to good to excellent job without a serious relationship is next to bill. i know a couple of my female friends actually who went to nigeria to join their husbands one of them is divorced now after 2 yrs due to the first reason i adduced above and the other has not been able to hold down a relationship.
by the way both of them have british passports, they are well off financially with well off parents and even got good jobs when they got to nigeria.one of the them man was not even bothered about applying for the british passport she actually forced him and did all the processing.

on a last note,go and find out any nigerian guy you find that is doing ok the chances of them grabbing an opportunity to travel above is average 50% before now it is even lower like 40% the ones who do just come here on holidays and go back who wants to leave a good quality of life and for the sake of a better life in uk come here and rent a single room, start hiding for ukba and eking out a living doing odd jobs?nigeria is not that bad.

my dad brought my brother here just last month and already my brother changed his mind about staying after going round london and seeing what people are doing in the name of earning living he is going back out of his our volition next week according to him he has a much better quality of life in nigeria

don't make blanket generalisations about nigerian men when you only know a handful
Celebrities / Re: Comic Actor Baba Suwe Arrested With Cocaine At Lagos Airport by lucabrasi(m): 3:56pm On Oct 13, 2011
this is a huge shame on the man, what else is he looking for in life??
by virtue of his star status the man commands hundreds of thousands per show and he is easily making at least 1 million a month, politicians and the wealthy fans in the society give them millions he has built houses, has cars and businesses so what else is he still looking for??

when he was arrested and put in belmarsh i got ppl who worked there who actually saw him but he denied it lets see how he will deny this now

on the same note i really hope this is not what all these nigerian hip hop artistes and actors/actresses do to fund the purchase of the lekki mansions and range rovers

i v been following this thread since the first page and was on the verge of getting in touch with the man for a boQ for 4 flats in ogombo but i think i will quietly withdraw with all these drama going on.
the client lives in nigeria and all this is going on,i live abroad and i am not ready to buy 1000 phone cards and start shouting my lungs out over the phone.
i really don't phantom the reason why artisans in nigeria frustrate ppl in these kind of situations,a white man will put a clause in the contract for him to cover any over costs and also a penalty if he/she doesn't deliver on time we nigerians will hide behind GOD or destiny as soon as we want to start acting funny.
2million might be chicken change to most of them like they always boast but the client worked damn hard to make that money and no one should be going through all these

Education / Re: Solarin's Widow Locks Mayflower School In Protest by lucabrasi(m): 10:34am On Sep 18, 2011
my dad was one of the recipients of the return of formerly public schools to their owners in lagos state and in my objective opinion i believe it has been the right step to take.prior to these schools being returned to their former owners the schools like most public schools were in a terrible state of dis repair, half baked n.c.e qualified teachers who could hardly construct a sentence in english and thugs who are students who openly fight and stab each other on inter house sports days.
since the schools were returned the standards have risen considerably and while they pay tuition fees they don't pay the same rate as the already established private schools but get qualitative teaching and over all educational experience unlike the times in was government run.
what is the point of the government running schools if it can't be run properly,if i was a parent i would rather pay a bit to have a properly run secondary school where i was sure my child/ward was receiving quality education than a state run school where i was not paying anything and my child/ward is not getting taught properly.
a school like mayflower by its antecedents should be returned to the owners in order for them to properly run the school and bring it up to the exacting standards it was prior to the govt take over
Crime / Abia State University Students Gang-rape Girl! by lucabrasi(m): 10:20am On Sep 18, 2011
i dont do postings on here that much but on;y do my normal brow sings and a few postings but i am surprised that no one has posted what has been circulating round the social media and online blogs on here.

please this is important not only to read but to see if you can identify the perpetuators because this is truly inhuman.

My whole weekend messed up. I saw a video that has messed with my head. A rape video. One hour of five boys taking turns on a girl. So heartbreaking to watch! One woman I showed it to today cried for three hours straight, it's one of the worst things I've ever seen in my life

A female student was gang raped by five boys in Abia State University. This incident happened Tuesday August 16th , 2011. These boys raped this girl, recorded it, passed it round their friends, who then passed it round ABSU campus.

And do you know what her offense was, why this girl was raped? She supposedly insulted one of the boys, that was all.

In the rape video, which lasts for over an hour, the girl cried her eyes out and tried to fight them off in the first few minutes, after a while they subdued her; by slapping her, rough handling her, threatening to kill her and having rough sex with her. After a while she gave in and instead of fighting, she started pleading, and after her pleas fell on deaf ears, she begged them to kill her that she couldn’t take the pain anymore. These boys laughed at her, made fun of her and told her that if she didn't co-operate, they would keep her in the room and continue raping her for two days.

Please continue to read this horrid story ,

Then she starts mentioning names, saying ‘What did I ever do to you’, (they spoke in English and Igbo language) she mentioned at least two names.

And in between, you will hear her scream out in pain as one guy stands up and another penetrates her, and all the while, these boys are laughing.

In the video, you can clearly see the girl’s face; the boys faces you really can’t see clearly, but they talk a lot and one of them said he’s a 4th year law student, another one said he’s an IT student, names were mentioned, these boys can be fished out.

This girl is someone’s daughter, someone’s sister, someone’s friend, and God’s creation. You cannot do this to another human being and get away with it.

I have the video, one hour of it on my laptop, and 10 minutes of it on my phone, but the rape was more than an hour, she went through this ordeal for several hours. Uploading this video online is not an option, but I want people who can do something about this to see it.

These boys can’t get away with this. Please if there’s any Women Rights Group, police, lawyers, journalists, who can take this up, please contact me; I will bring the video to you, wherever you are or send via email.

Meanwhile, a friend and I contacted one of the aides of the Governor of Abia State today, and he told us categorically that the Governor of Abia State, Theodore Orji, has seen the video and plans to take it up on Monday Sept 19th. I’m in touch with them – let’s see what they do about this.

And whoever you rapists are; you don’t mess with God’s creation. The God I serve will never let you get away with this. HE is coming after you! Just watch! You bastard animals

Business / Re: Unoccupied Houses In Lekki: Built With 'Corruption Money'? by lucabrasi(m): 9:47pm On Sep 17, 2011
Sisi_Kill:

The only acceptable excuse for this idiotic write up is that it was written by a 7years old child (no offense to the smart 7 years old children out there). How on earth did he come to the conclusion that the owners of these homes looted money. . .did the he make any attempt to find out who those homes belong to? How they made a living? Find out the circumstances behind the homes remaining occupied? Did he even attempt any form of investigation before flexing his fingers?

Sigh! Guess anyone can be a writer these days. Damn you wordpress!!  angry angry
while there might be some generalisations and conclusions without evidence in the write up,nevertheless it doesn't warrant the amount of venom you have cast upon it in your comments.more over in your follow up you stated that you know people/families(certainly not every single landlord of unoccupied luxury mansion) who have left it unoccupied due to family squabbles however what the writer is saying is simply that knowing what it takes financially to erect these edifices,on the balance of probabilities no legitimate business person will leave a house worth hundreds of millions sometimes billions unoccupied rather than accept what they feel is not worth paying as rent.
secondly it is an open secret that this is one of the most effective and popular ways in which nigerian politicians launder their ill gotten funds,so the writer is not saying anything new.
while you might know people who have abandoned their properties as a result of  family squabbles,i also know people who are as close as can be who have buildings in different parts of the island empty as proceeds of laundered government loot.
on a art note you should go look for an article from a british national daily about bishops gate area in london, popularly known as millionaires row, there are million pound properties there which has been empty for years owned by nigerian politicians and presently illegally occupied by squatters

Music/Radio / Re: MC Loph Is Dead (The Man Behind The 'Osondi Owenu' Remake) by lucabrasi(m): 6:27pm On Sep 14, 2011
really sad, especially for a death that could have been avoidable if we had a responsive and responsible government.instead of the idiot bad luck jonathan to fix roads especially the benin-ore road and lagos ibadan express road that people have been clamouring for,he is busy chasing single tenure.
when some ppl were castigating celebrities during the presidential campaigns for campaigning for jonathan as "the saviour" they were seen as haters and all sorts.
i hope each one of those celebrities, musicians, artistes will search their conscience now that several of their members have been victims of an inept useless government and ask themselves if it was worth the crumbs they got paid

Politics / Re: Why Can't Nigeria Pay Police Very Well? by lucabrasi(m): 10:38pm On Sep 10, 2011
because then police will start to arrest and actually prosecute crimes,no more bribes for traffic and criminal offences that would be a nightmare for the average nigerian how much more the big thieves and the armed robbers who hire guns and ammunition from them

she has nothing to be ashamed of,rather you should be ashamed sensationalising a story without any foundation of truth and also pre judging her without evidence.
what did you mean by pitiful theft and corruption revealed and very shameful were you there??
this is why i seldom post comments on here anymore, nowhere has it been alleged or proven recently that this woman stole the only evidence has been what i will call official gossips a.k.a wikileaks yet some have already drawn and quartered the woman, the world bank and other places she has been associated with after she left obasanjo's government who do mandatory criminal, immigration and others check have cleared her yet that isn't enough for our regular naysayers

Politics / Re: Pastor Bakare Revolutionary Speech! - Nigerians Are Idiots Ruled By Fools! by lucabrasi(m): 11:37pm On Sep 01, 2011
listened to pastor bakare's speech yesterday and it really connected with me and most importantly the state of nigeria at the moment while i totally agree with his speech,i believe like some have pointed out on here religious, tribal and gerontocratic considerations as usual will serve as a demon to defeat any perceived revolutionary ideals,
as for people advocating self revolution, like i have always said if i live abroad or outside nigeria and i am not ready to come lead the revolution, kickstart or stimulate it then i don't have the moral right to ask any nigerian to do the same, its not an easy move to endure violence or death for a political ideal.
pastor bakare has earned that right due to his antecedents as a lawyer in gain fawehinmi's chambers,as a religious and social crusader and lately as a politician.

I also believe you because while reading this on my pad a friend of mine who used to live in holland but is a regular in italy confirmed this so also did a lady who migrated from italy.

i thank GOD for my dad and my late mum,my dad will never see the truth and not say it to any of his childrens faces just last week he told me off for a minor incident with a man he wasnt even close to which happened in uk while he is in nigeria.i dont blame mjs mother after all she has to support her daughter the bread winner no wonder the girl turned oit the way she has.
I will just quickly remind her that if she thinks and wants her daughter to have a happy married life then she had better desist from cursing other peoples children or the same portion will come back on her daughters head

Dont worry i wont give excuses anymore but be rest assured i am still following the progress i will suggest university/higher institution undergraduates as the first point of call they have the time energy and ideological drive plus more.often than not they have friends, who they hang out with like everyday so its easier to get others than a married man who would most likely work all day and go home to their wife

You cant plant yams and harvest cassava if you check the background of all those ladies who are in the induatry you will quickly find out that that most of them were into runs and just used acting as a fast vehicle to fame and money last time o was in nigeria i was out on the town being hosted by my uncle and his gf a lady prominent in the yoruba genre while we were gisting and i was telling her jokingly that i fancied aome of the girls she replied that i shouldnt try it as 99.9% of the girls will openly seduce you once they see u with a nice car,she told me that if i wanted them all i should drive down to one of their locations with a nice car amd thats all.
For the older ome likes of iyabo ojo and co buy them a return ticket to jand or usa with 500 shopping money and they will be in your house for days or weeks thos is confirmed
