gabbi14: I am currently in the same position i really care about my nigerian boyfriend and he says he cares about me but he believes in (charms,curses,and all that other stuff) and he thinks that if he disobeys his parents that he will have bad luck the rest of his life and that he will never be happy.. so i met him and our first date went well but i was worried that his parents wouldnt approve because ALL of my bestfriends are either Nigerian or Ethiopian im just afriacan american so i've been around their culture most of my life and i truely respect it and i have seen how some do not approve of such relationships I asked and he said his parents wouldnt mind so we had several wonderful dates we spent every minute together after we made it official and he seemed totally in love with me even introduced me to his siblings and friends as his girlfriend until on his birthday I made very special plans and he seemed annoyed and was soooo rude the whole night told me he didnt want to celebrate and when i said i loved him he looked scared.... we get home and argue over his behaviour then i broke down because I try not to invest in a relationship because i have trust issues and i had already told him of my rocky past which he says he could handle...smh LIES so he then tells me that he doesnt want to fall in love with me no matter how much he cares because he could never marry me due to his parents and that the bible does not want him to disobey his parents yes he threw the bible at me as a christian i was obviously shocked and yelled that fornication and lying is also a sin !!!! but that didnt matter he then tells me i deserve better and that i should have someone who is able to love me(he even tried to set me up with a friend)smh but we should be friends and that he cares about my feelings... BTW he also told me that his plan was to be with me for awhile and then break up with me when he got deployed.... YES HES A MARINE HE LIVES IN AMERICA 6000 MILES AWAY FROM AFRICA BUT HIS BALLS ARE CHAINED TO HIS MOTHERS FRONT PORCH IN AFRICA!!! I need help i love him seriously just his smile makes me happy and all i want is to make him happy and be with him we may never get married heck im in college im too young and it would atleast be 3 years but i want him to atleast try instead of leave me the way he is....... What should i do?

oparah chi: Hello nairalanders, some of you might remember my story i put up some months back about my girlfriend who i dated for 5years breaking up with me on the account that i wasnt JEHOVAH'S witness, and she didnt think it was safe for us to build a future with the variation in our christian doctrine.
