Religion / Re: Debrah Osagiede Is Dead Spirit And Life Bible Church Founder by lukaino(m): 9:33am On Dec 08, 2020
observer88:
Someone up there said this may be the beginning of the end of the church and I think I agree (to an extent).

The SLBC first shot off with Jesus Women Prayer Band, an interdenominational prayer ministry for women. This was founded by this woman and was soon making waves in Edo state (especially). Later, the Godhead Fellowship (for men) was founded by her husband, and quickly followed up with a merger which birthed the SLBC denomination. Those initial fellowships however continued interdenominationally.

It wasn't difficult for anyone to know which of the duo was the crowd puller as the Jesus Women attracted interest from far outside the state with many within Benin-city hardly aware of the Godhead fellowship.

Thus, while the husband was the ascribed head, many regarded the woman as the spiritual mainstay of the ministry. It therefore had very minimal effect (if at all) when the husband died and she fully (officially) took over the running of the church.

Now, the major outlet outside Edo state is the Abuja Church which, I understand, trumps the headquarters on all fronts structurally, and this was specifically built for her first son who has been elevated to the position of Bishop and even bears same name as his dad. Unlike his parents (mum especially), he and his white wife are hardly known outside the denomination...

The problem with most of our pentecostal churches in Nigeria has been the tendency by the founders to run them like family enterprises, or for the founders' families to wrest control once they are gone, disregarding previous hierarchical structures. CGM, amongst others, suffered same fate with pull-out pastors more widely known today than the General Overseer. Let's see how the SLBC goes after Eunice Osagiede's exit.

RIP, Woman of God...

This is the whole truth

Car Talk / Re: Toyota Corolla Users Need Know Their Mate by lukaino(m): 9:49pm On Nov 17, 2020
[quote author=jacobjamie post=96119502] I also put it to u sir that buying a certain car shouldn't be for respect from people, get a car for ur own comfort and fun of owning it, also don't look down on those who drive lesser cars like Volvo etc, the more we try to think smart in what we do in Africa, the better some people won't feel so pressured to wanna feel among to get so that spot doing illegal business and fraud to drive a car for respect
Some of us who are a bit fortunate to have stayed abroad tend to understand that even when u drive a Benz no one give a fu*k, cuzz ur boss who is a Ceo might not own a car but go by train or bus to work, or even use a bicycle, cuzz no body look at u in high respect when u buy such, at a point u will just know u wanna buy it for ur own comfort and not to impress ur mates or ladies. Don't blame the next door neighbour who wanna do fraud to own a Benz cuzz he also wanna feel among, we are the cause of our own problem in Africa... Play safe bro and my messages isn't directed to u personally pls.. Thanks

Whoever said Volvo is a lesser car?
I wouldn't even race a Volvo as most have turbo charged engines.
The point is not to make anyone feel less but appreciate their levels per time and to pick their battles wisely.
If you have a heavy foot, Corolla shouldn't be your choice car but while it is what we can afford, it is wise to use it responsibly in order to remain alive.

Even though I drive a 2011 Corolla Sports with 80k miles, i have never considered it as a race car. I wouldn't even consider racing a Camry.
How can you ever contemplate racing a Benz with a 1.8ltr car?
Everyone should know their levels and give respect accordingly.
I'd be managing my Corolla until i am able to afford a performance car like Benz Amg, BMW etc. To those already driving these, maximum respect to you!!

Let's learn to Inculcate the virtue of Forgiveness..

If JESUS Should Do us all like this, Na Who go Make Heaven?

You call that an apology??
All he did was to make more noise trying to justify what he said.
Apologies should be unreserved.
What he did was just like abusing your wife physically, then telling her the reason why you beat her up as an apology.

Mumuness.

If you send away the media, who will then air your protest or report it?

You must think the youths are stewpid right?
Since the protest began, most local media houses have either been snubbing the protest or reporting fake news about it. The reasons are not farfetched. It is on record that the foreign media along with a very few local ones have been giving extensive, factual coverage to the protest. Youths are taking note of everyone's behavior at this time.

As an addition
When stopped by Police and asked to see your boot, never open your boot when you're still inside your car.
It is better to come down and open it and be vigilant. This is to prevent them dropping something incriminating into your boot.

Mediocrity is all i see on the above list.
It's should rather be a local government Chairman's list.

It beats me how these politicians order their priorities wasting time on unnecessary things when there's a serious job at hand.
My verdict on this is simply lack of preparedness for the role at hand. He won't make a good governor.

All these alliances would amount to exercises in futility if there are no significant electoral reforms.
The current system would never permit credible elections where votes can count.
All we will find in 2023 would be a replication of Osun, Ekiti & Kogi kind of elections across the country.

Politics / Re: The Politics Of The Border Closure by lukaino(m): 7:18pm On Nov 07, 2019
I totally agree with the writer.
The border closure was as a result of a failure in the system. But rather than address that failure, by purging the agencies maning our borders for sabotaging our economy, government rather decides to treat the symptoms rather than the ailments. These questions would suffice:
1. Who is responsible for policing the borders - The customs
2. Who gets bribed to let smuggling happen- The customs
3. Who loses revenue - Government
4. Who gets richer when the borders are shut?
The answer is obviously the customs.

What they do is to kidnap fellow Nigerians who are going to Europe through Libya and tell them to call their people to send 350k for their release.
A friend was once a victim few years ago and we sent the money for his release.
They were tortured by fellow Nigerians who have slave camps in Libya. Its such a pathetic situation.
