Join this Qur'an reading challenge today! Reciting the Qur'an shouldn't just be reserved for Ramadan. Do you agree? Even if you can't read a juuz/day, you can start with a smaller amount such as 1/2 or 3/4 of it, or even just a page or a line. Consistency and commitment are key. Add Qur'an reading to your daily routine at a time that works for you. Remember, there are many benefits to reading the Qur'an (including the reward of good deeds). As the Prophet Muhammad said, "Whoever recites a letter from the Book of Allah, he will receive one good deed as ten good deeds like it. I do not say that Alif Lam Mim is one letter, but rather Alif is a letter, Lam is a letter, and Mim is a letter." As a rough estimate, here are some potential daily rewards for different amounts of reading: 1 line (36 letters) = roughly 360 good deeds 1 page (532 letters) = roughly 5,320 good deeds 5 pages (2,660 letters) = roughly 26,600 good deeds 10 pages (5,320 letters) = roughly 53,200 good deeds 20 pages (10,640 letters) = roughly 106,400 good deeds (one juuz/day). - I encourage this because you complere Don't let the hours you spend online go to waste - use some of that time to earn rewards through Qur'an reading. Set a daily reminder and be consistent. May Allah make it easy for you. Ameen." I encourage you to aim for reading 20 pages per day - this is roughly one juuz, and if you can commit to this daily, you will complete a Qur'an in one month! Below are some of the benefits of reading the Qur'an, both spiritual and physical. Spiritual guidance: The Qur'an is considered the Word of God in Islam, and it is believed to contain guidance and teachings for all of humanity. Reading the Qur'an can help believers to understand God's message and to live a more meaningful and purposeful life. Personal growth and development: The Qur'an encourages believers to develop their character and to become the best version of themselves. Reading the Qur'an can help one to reflect on their own behavior and to make positive changes in their life. Increased knowledge: The Qur'an is a source of knowledge and wisdom, and reading it can increase one's understanding of the world and their place in it. Improved mental health: Some studies have suggested that reading the Qur'an can have positive effects on mental health, including reducing stress and anxiety and increasing feelings of calm and well-being. Physical health benefits: Some research has also suggested that reading the Qur'an can have physical health benefits, including reducing blood pressure and heart rate and improving sleep. Reward in the hereafter: In Islam, it is believed that reading the Qur'an and acting upon its teachings will be rewarded in the afterlife. The Prophet Muhammad is reported to have said, "The one who reads a letter from the Qur'an will have a reward, and this reward will be multiplied by ten. I am not saying that 'Alif, Laam, Meem' is a letter, rather Alif is a letter, Laam is a letter, and Meem is a letter." |
In Islam, envy (hasad) is considered a sin and is condemned in the Qur'an and hadith (sayings and actions of the Prophet Muhammad). It is described as a feeling of resentment towards someone who has something that one desires, and it can lead to harmful actions or thoughts towards the person who is the object of envy. The Qur'an describes envy as a characteristic of those who do not believe in God, and it advises believers to avoid envy and to instead cultivate qualities such as generosity and gratitude: "Envy eats up good deeds just as fire eats up fuel. But Allah removes the effect of envy by His grace. Allah is the All-Knowing, the All-Wise." (Qur'an, 4:113) "O you who have believed, do not let your wealth and your children divert you from the remembrance of Allah. And whoever does that - then those are the losers." (Qur'an, 63:9) In hadith, the Prophet Muhammad said, "Do not envy one another; do not inflate prices on one another; do not hate one another; do not turn away from one another; and do not undercut one another, but rather be servants of Allah and brothers." (Sahih Bukhari) In summary, Islam teaches that envy is a destructive emotion that can lead to harm and division among people. It advises believers to avoid envy and to instead cultivate qualities such as generosity and gratitude. Here are a few suggestions for how to deal with envy in a healthy way: Recognize and acknowledge your feelings of envy: It is important to be honest with yourself about your feelings of envy. Acknowledge that you are feeling envious and try to understand the root causes of these feelings. Practice gratitude: Focusing on the things that you have and are thankful for can help to reduce feelings of envy. Try keeping a gratitude journal or spending a few minutes each day thinking about the things that you are grateful for. Cultivate contentment: Instead of always striving for more and feeling envious of those who have more than you, try to cultivate a sense of contentment with what you have. Remember that true happiness and fulfillment come from within, not from external possessions or achievements. Practice compassion: Instead of feeling envious of others, try to look at their situation with compassion. Remember that everyone has struggles and challenges, and try to show understanding and kindness towards those who have what you desire. Focus on your own goals and accomplishments: Instead of comparing yourself to others and feeling envious, focus on your own goals and accomplishments. Remember that you are on your own unique path, and strive to be the best version of yourself rather than trying to be like someone else. Seek support: If you are struggling with feelings of envy that are causing you distress, consider seeking support from a trusted friend, family member, or mental health professional. They can provide a listening ear and help you work through your feelings in a healthy way. |

In Islam, bid'ah refers to innovation in religious matters. The term means "innovation, novelty, heretical doctrine, heresy" linguistically. Many Muslims view Bid'ah as nothing bad. In this thread, you will understand why Bid'ah is not acceptable using a scientific approach. The post is credited to Abu Mar’yam Hanafi Abdulkadri. In the Hadeeth narrated by ‘Aaishah (رضي الله عنها), who said, the Messenger of Allaah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: |
