Episode 38 - Trigonometric identities
In episode 38 today, I started from frame 35 of program F9 where I discussed trigonometric identities. The difference between equations and identities was explained, and I derived the fundamental trigonometric identity using Pythagoras' theorem. I derived several other identities from this fundamental identity that showed relationships between trigonometric ratios. In the last part of the video, I applied these concepts to compound angles, double angles, half angles, and finding the value of trigonometric ratios for angles different from the special angles of 30, 45, and 60 degrees. This concludes Program F9.

Shettima has told the North that only APC government will enact sharia law across Nigeria.

This he stated while campaigning for votes.

This statement from Shettima proves our fear. APC Moslim Moslim ticket will be against Christians in Nigeria.

Your fate hangs in the balance oh Nigerian Christians.

As you vote on February 2023, remember the thousands of Christians that were gruesomely murdered in Benue, Plateau, southern Kaduna, Enugu, Ondo, Ogun, Ekiti, Nassarawa, Abuja etc during 8 years of Buhari demonic regime reinforced by Tinubu a known drug lord.

You will be an accomplice if you fail to show up on the election day to vote in protection of your faith.

IslamHadith GPT: AI Tools Trained With 40,000 Hadiths by Lukgaf(op): 3:34pm On Feb 14, 2023
Assalam Alaykum.

I came across an exciting tool this morning - Hadith GPT. This AI has been trained with 40,000 authentic hadiths from renowned collections including Sahih Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, Sunan Abu Dawud, Sunan al-Nasa'i, Sunan Ibn Majah and the Muwatta of Imam Malik.

It provides a wealth of information for those seeking to deepen their knowledge of Islam and its teachings. However, it is crucial to remember that the answers generated by AI may not always be accurate. The true essence of Islam is passed down from one generation to the next through personal connections and guidance from knowledgeable scholars.

For this reason, the Hadith GPT website advises users not to rely solely on the information provided and to seek additional guidance from Islamic scholars for a more accurate understanding of the religion.

If you're interested in exploring this tool further, check out their website at https://www.hadithgpt.com/

May Allah continue to bless us with such valuable resources in our pursuit of knowledge. All praises to Allah, the Most Merciful

IslamLowering One's Voice; Women And Phone! by Lukgaf(op): 7:47am On Feb 10, 2023
In our weekly review of the book, "The Islamic Etiquettes of Using the Telephone", we next today is Chapters 8 and 9 of the book.

Past review here:

According to the chapter "Lowering One's Voice" of "The Islamic Etiquettes of Using the Telephone", one should lower their voice when speaking on the telephone in order to show respect to the person on the other end. The voice should be audible and balanced, avoiding being annoying or intimidating. This principle applies to all individuals, including parents and those of higher importance or lower age or status. Raising one's voice or being intimidating goes against the manners ordered by Allah in the verse from Surah Luqman (31:19). Lack of respect in conversation can lead to negative outcomes and hinder receiving positive results.

In chapter 9 of "The Islamic Etiquettes of Using the Telephone", it is stated that women should not talk softly on the phone, as it is prohibited in Islam. The text cites a verse from the Quran (al-Ahzab 33:32) which states that women should not be soft in speech, and should speak in an honorable manner. It is also mentioned that women should be careful when speaking to strange men and should not talk at length with them in a manner that is not approved by the shari'ah. Women should also be cautious when speaking with men close to them, as talking in a certain way could lead to feelings of connection and may cause fitnah. The text also mentions that a man should oversee the affairs of his household and uphold the household's honor. Women should follow the guidance of their male guardian in answering the phone and should not rush to answer it if a male is present. Women should consider what is best and avoid anything that causes hardship.

The lessons from chapter 8 and chapter 9 of "The Islamic Etiquettes of Using the Telephone" are as follows:

Chapter 8: Lowering One's Voice:

1. Lower your voice while talking on the telephone to show respect to the person you are speaking with.
2. Your voice should be audible, balanced, and not annoying or intimidating.
3. Observe the general manner of conversation and lower your voice when speaking with parents, people of importance, and those beneath 4. you in age or importance.
5. Avoid raising your voice more than necessary and being intimidating, as both contradict the manners prescribed in Islam.

Chapter 9: Telephone and Women:

1. Women should not speak softly on the telephone and should observe Islamic manners of conversation.
2. Women should not be soft in speech or talk in a way that could entice others and lead to fitnah.
3. Women should not talk to strange men in the same manner as they do with their husbands and should be cautious when talking with men, including those close to her.
4. Women should not raise their voice over what is normal, beautify their voice, or talk excessively.
5. Men should not listen to women's voices if they gain satisfaction from it, even if she is reciting the Qur'an.
6. Women should not rush to answer the phone if a male is present, nor should she answer the phone in every circumstance without males being there.
7. Women and their male guardians should have a mutual understanding about the use of the telephone.

In conclusion, the two chapters emphasize the importance of observing Islamic manners of conversation and avoiding actions that could lead to fitnah.

Till next week InshaAllah

This Hadith highlights the importance of having trust in Allah and relying on Him for guidance and protection. It teaches that everything that happens is pre-determined by Allah and that seeking help from others is secondary to seeking help from Allah. The Hadith also stresses the importance of being mindful of Allah in both good and difficult times and the importance of patience and perseverance in achieving success and overcoming adversity. The message of the Hadith is that one should always maintain a strong relationship with Allah and have a complete trust in His plan for their life.

On the authority of Abu Abbas Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) who said:

One day I was behind the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) [riding on the same mount] and he said, “O young man, I shall teach you some words [of advice]: Be mindful of Allah and Allah will protect you. Be mindful of Allah and you will find Him in front of you. If you ask, then ask Allah [alone]; and if you seek help, then seek help from Allah [alone]. And know that if the nation were to gather together to benefit you with anything, they would not benefit you except with what Allah had already prescribed for you. And if they were to gather together to harm you with anything, they would not harm you except with what Allah had already prescribed against you. The pens have been lifted and the pages have dried.” It was related by at-Tirmidhi, who said it was a good and sound hadeeth.

Another narration, other than that of Tirmidhi, reads: Be mindful of Allah, and you will find Him in front of you. Recognize and acknowledge Allah in times of ease and prosperity, and He will remember you in times of adversity. And know that what has passed you by [and you have failed to attain] was not going to befall you, and what has befallen you was not going to pass you by. And know that victory comes with patience, relief with affliction, and hardship with ease.

IslamSome Lessons From This Adab Al-mufrad Class: Being Truthful, Honest And Sincere by Lukgaf(op): 10:12am On Feb 05, 2023
Notes from the Adab Al-Mufrad Class of our Shaykh, Abu Naasir Ibrahim AbdurRauf, Session 202, held on Saturday, Rajab 13, 1444/February 4, 2023

Being truthful, honest, sincere, and straightforward is an obligation upon the Muslims. Stick to truthfulness in both your words and deeds. Do not be insincere or double-mouthed. Say things as they are. Be clear, true, and unambiguous in your words and actions.
Truthfulness or Honesty in Islam has to do with the mind (honesty in intention), the tongue (honesty in speech) and the limbs (honesty in actions). A person may be sincere in some but leave off the others. The Muslim must be completely truthful and honest.
The first beneficiary of this trait is the doer. Your mind will be clear and at peace. Not being true, to oneself and others, is a source of depression and sadness for many nowadays.

Be honest and truthful, for that leads to piety and righteousness, which then brings one to the Paradise. An individual continues to be upon this until the person is written with Allah as a Sideeq,. which is the highest station a person can attain after Prophethood.

Let us all go back and ponder. Are you clear that your intention is for Allah? Are you clear and truthful in your speech? Are you clear and sincere in your actions? Always be exact and say things as they are. When in doubt, be clear to your listeners that you are in doubt. When you don't know, say you don't know. Do not be given to confusion thereby causing confusion.

Be warned; keep away from lying. Lying means altering the reality. Again, this applies to the mind, the tongue, and the limbs. Beware of lying, as it makes one evil, wicked, and sinful. When you investigate evil characters - thieves, murderers, kidnappers, etc - you will realize that lying is a major trait of theirs. This wickedness leads to nowhere but the Fire. A person goes on lying until he is written as a Liar with Allah. Liars eventually deceive themselves, believe their lies, and become consumed by their lies.

A person is also a liar when he continues to spread the lies of liars. Many people will fall into this category. A large percentage of those who transmit news on the social media are liars. Do not become a liar by transmitting falsehoods.

We are already used to telling lies, under many guises. But lying is never appropriate, whether in seriousness or in a joke. Do not engage in the popular skits-making or comedy or entertainment as these involve lying and untruths. Leave these trades and know that a person who leaves something for the sake of Allah, Allah will provide something better. Do not also lie by promising your child a thing, and then not fulfilling the promise.

Be clear and straightforward. Allah will put His blessings in your transactions, rectify your deeds, and forgive your actions.

Assalamu Alaykum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuhu

IslamThe Importance Of Choosing The Right Place To Pray by Lukgaf(op): 9:10am On Feb 03, 2023
In Islam, the place where we pray holds a significant importance as it is where we stand before Allah, the Almighty. However, there are certain places that are considered forbidden to pray in. A hadith that was narrated by at-Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah from Ibn ‘Umar, states that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) forbade praying in seven places: garbage dumps, slaughterhouses, graveyards, the middle of the road, bathrooms, camel pens, and on top of the Ka‘bah. Nevertheless, this hadith is considered weak.

The places that are considered forbidden to pray in are discussed below:

Garbage Dumps: Places where garbage is thrown are considered impure, as they may contain impurities such as najasah. Furthermore, even if they are pure, they are considered filthy, and it is not appropriate for a Muslim to stand before Allah in such a place.

Slaughterhouses: These are places where animals are slaughtered, and they are contaminated with impurities, such as blood and filth. If there is a clean space in the slaughterhouse, it is considered valid to pray there.

Graveyards: These are places where there are graves, and it is not allowed to pray in them, as it may lead to resembling those who worship graves. However, it is valid to offer the funeral prayer in a graveyard. The Prophet Muhammad offered the funeral prayer for a woman who used to clean the mosque after she was buried in her grave.

The Middle of the Road: Praying in the middle of a road used by people is forbidden as it makes the way narrow and prevents people from passing. This can also be a distraction to the worshipper, as he will be so distracted that he will be unable to pray properly.

In conclusion, it is important to choose the right place to pray, as it affects the quality of our prayer. We must strive to find a clean, pure, and appropriate place to stand before Allah and offer our prayers.
IslamThe Length Of Calls & The Importance Of Saying "As-salamu Alaykum" At The Start by Lukgaf(op): 8:19am On Feb 03, 2023
In our weekly review of the book, "The Islamic Etiquettes of Using the Telephone", we next today is Chapters 5, 6 and 7 of the book.

These Chapters highlight the importance of being mindful of the duration and content of phone calls. It is recommended that every conversation has a suitable length and that one should avoid excessive chit-chat to avoid boring the person on the other end.

The caller should initiate the conversation with the Islamic greeting "As-Salamu Alaykum", which is considered the slogan of Islam and a symbol of peace and safety. It is considered obligatory for the person who hears this greeting to reply. This practice is based on the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), who taught the manners of asking for permission to enter. The caller should give priority to this greeting over speaking and should not remain silent until the person called speaks to them.

It is considered ill-mannered for the caller to remain silent when the phone is answered, as this goes against the Sunnah and goes against the person calling being the one requesting something. Additionally, it is also ill-mannered to ask "Who is it?" when the phone is answered, and it is recommended to reply with one's name or how the person knows you.

It is also encouraged to end the call with "Assalam Alaykum" .

Finally, the chapter warns against using ambiguous descriptions when introducing oneself and using kunyas (honorifics based on one's child's name) instead of one's name or lineage. Imitating people who do not leave their name when calling can show a lack of manners and cause unnecessary worry to the members of the household.

In conclusion, the chapter highlights the importance of following proper Islamic etiquette during telephone conversations, including the use of the "As-Salamu Alaykum" greeting, avoiding excessive chit-chat and using proper introductions.

For the last episode, see here.
IslamThe Use Of Maiden Name Vs Married Name In Islam by Lukgaf(op): 8:05am On Feb 03, 2023
In Islam, a married woman retains her maiden name even after marriage. This was the practice during the time of the Prophet Muhammad, who referred to his wives by their father's names
A Muslim lady, even after marriage, is Islāmically called by her maiden name. This was the practice during the lifetime of the Prophet (sallallāhu'aleihi wa sallam). All his wives were called by no other than their fathers' names. Khadījah - his first - was bint (daughter of) Khuwaylid; Sawdā was bint Zam'ah; Aishah was bint Abībakr; Hafsah was bint Umar; Zainab was bint Khuzaimah; Safiyyah was bint Huyay; the other Zainab was bint Jahsh; Ramlah was bint Abī Sufyān; Juwairiyyah, et cetera, was bint al-Hārith.

So, the present-day practice of having a woman irresistibly change her surname to her husband's is indisputably western, and no doubt, uncommonsensical. This, according to scholars, is because should the woman get divorced or rather become widowed, she would be left with no other option than change it again. The standard of Islām, summarily, is that a woman, even after marriage, should bear the name of her father, as done our emulative forebears.

Whoever is able to practise this in his country should do so without hesitation. But, unfortunately speaking, there are instances where one might have to do what is rather obtainable where one lives.

The woman bearing her husband's surname is an official norm in Nigeria. In an organisation where this is required, she will have no other option than comply. That, invariably, will mean allowing necessity take charge. And as for those who feel the name change is replacement of the father's, we say that is incorrect, as the word, Mrs, means 'wife of', not 'daughter of'. Mrs Adekoya Ngozi, for instance, means Ngozi, wife of Adekoya, not daughter of...

I'm happy to read Starlink has made its way to Nigeria, bringing an end to the frustration caused by subpar 2G providers claiming to offer 4G/5G services. Although the cost of the Starlink device may be high (around 200k), the quality-wise monthly subscription is relatively affordable, making it a viable option for many.

This arrival of Starlink is sure to shake up the market and force the competition, such as Uncle Yellow, Green, and Red, to step up their game.
