Science/TechnologyRe: I Need Help: Glo Code To Subscribe For Daily Internet Usage by lukkie(m): 12:29pm On Jan 12, 2011
I'm glad u're browsing now. You can even tether it to your laptop, but be mindful of the data usage. I do that for emergency situations. Another way of checking bal is to text INFO to 127 as said above. The HSI.GLO.COM link is working for me though. But it won't open via Opera Mini. You have to use your phone's built-in browser.

You're right, Glo does not publicize the product at all. Guess that's small money to them. But like I mentioned earlier, they prefer you purchase their modem rather than using your phone and/or tethering it.

It's bad enough that these pastors are scamming their daft followers. Then some people come here to defend them.

No wonder Nigeria is moving backward when other nations are developing.

Thank goodness for common sense.
Science/TechnologyRe: I Need Help: Glo Code To Subscribe For Daily Internet Usage by lukkie(m): 6:42am On Jan 11, 2011
Did you set the GLOFLAT access point as the default?
And have u been browsing with this line before?

Also set your phone network mode to dual i.e. GSM and 3G modes.

The pastors are smart. It's the followers who are fools!

Science/TechnologyRe: I Need Help: Glo Code To Subscribe For Daily Internet Usage by lukkie(m): 6:21pm On Jan 10, 2011
As said above, create a new Access Point on your phone with the following details.
APN Name: gloflat
Username: flat
Password: flat
Then make it ur default access point. That's what I use and it's quite fast esp when in 3G coverage.
You can even monitor your usage via hsi.glo.com

Don't call 121. They'll discourage so u can buy their modem. Those girls don't know jack anyway. Also check this site www.mobilitynigeria.com
Lets have a feedback.

RomanceRe: i think i gained something from all by lukkie(m): 12:02pm On Oct 23, 2010
forget about the curse story.  you guys just inherited a trait of not wanting to commit into a lifelong relationship from prolly a grandpa. remember you all are the same blood, so it's not surprising that you think alike. the ones that got married are just the exception.

but you don't need to pity the others. marriage is meant for procreation but some people's genes are simply not strong enough or do not deserve to continue the business of bringing forth offspring that'd keep up the human race.

your brothers/uncles are just like the british who have allowed pakistanis and indians to overrun their country. in 200 years, i bet local, white british would have become minorities in britain. britain would have become an arab territory by then.

you try and marry. remember there's no perfect marriage. if u're thinking about getting rich before you marry, when you become very rich, then you start wondering if the woman wants you or your money. it's actually better to marry while struggling. it proves that the woman loves you and ready to go through the worst with you. forget about the big wedding. it's boolsheet!

Christianity EtcRe: Pray For Erastus Akingbola Of Intercontinental Bank by lukkie(m): 9:14pm On Oct 11, 2010
Pray for what? That the judge would forget the arguments before him? Or EFCC lawyers should suddenly go deaf and dumb in court?

It's this kind of foolishness that led us Nigerians to where we are now. Pray Pray Pray. God, God, God.

I think you should be arrested and tried alongside that thief. It seems to me that you're benefiting or have benefited from proceeds of crime.

Please don't get me started.

Christianity EtcRe: The Christainity sham You Dont Know And Must Be Noted by lukkie(m): 11:06pm On Sep 24, 2010
This guy says it as it is. I don't expect many people to agree with him anyway. That's cos most Nigerians have been blinded by foolish religious illusions/fairy tales. That's why we're so backward. Religious people rushing to churches/mosques but more evil in their ways than the devil they go about denouncing.

Mudley313:
thats just being subtle about the fact that its the blabbings of a stack illiterate

yea right. the fact fable that plants were made on the 3rd day in genesis without the sun (created on the 4th) to drive the process of photosynthesis makes absolute sense.

Noah's Ark (basically a reworking of the much older "Epic of Gilgamesh"wink makes the most sense. Yahweh supposedly gave Noah 7 days warning of the flood, just one week to collect polar bears from the North Pole, lions from Africa, spiders from South America and tigers from India and the Far East, that is assuming they all could fit in or survive in one big mythical boat.

Yahweh then created the rainbow as a sign that he would never again wipe out humanity in a global catastrophe like we're expected to believe that light behaved differently a few thousand years ago when passing through raindrops

And less i forget, the whole idea was to rid the wicked people from the world. Did it work?

What about the idea that the gods came down and fathered offsprings with human females, also found in many cultures, e.g. Hercules was the son of Zeus and Alcmena; Bacchus was the son of Jupiter and Semele

Genesis 6:4 "There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men, and they bore children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown."

makes perfect sense as much as the idea that the entire world spoke a single language until Yahweh became angry at their attempt to build a skyscraper and cursed them all with different languages as well as the sun being commanded to stand still for Joshua's army to get it's killing done. This would be a great miracle to occur, if not for the fact that the sun does not move.

In my opinion people who claim that the Bible is inerrant and everything happened as stated should have their heads examined.

Dstv sent me an SMS today telling me that i can now pay my bills via www.quickteller.com.ng. I called their customer care to confirm that it wasn't a hoax. The guy there confirmed it's authentic but couldn't say if my decoder would be activated immediately. Has anyone used the website and what was your experience like?

There are options to buy recharge cards etc on same website.

AutosRe: Dont Say Hummer Jeep, Murano Jeep. Jeep Is A Brand by lukkie(m): 2:22am On Apr 24, 2010
knotty:
pyrex, biro, are ready examples of Brand names that have metamorphosed into regular daily English today.

certain words, on account of their popularity and regular use become acceptable over time as English. the same with the word Jeep.

did you guys know that until about 4 years ago, Internet was not acceptable as a regular daily English word? if you spell the word INTERNET, you must start with the I with a capital letter. but is all changed now.

Jeep in the old Official Scrabble Players Dictionary was listed as an unplayable Scrabble word because it was a br,and name.

but it has all changed now. Jeep is now a valid word, a verb at that. and it refers to those cars with high clearance.

please, cite a new authority that forbids me from calling a Land - cruiser a jeep today.

SUV, CUV are abbreviations of the americans. we must not all be americans in our minds jare.
I disagree with you and please stop celebrating mediocrity. It's only ignorance that'll make someone say Benz Jeep, Toyota Prado Jeep etc. It's little things like these that show how polished the speaker/writer is.

That's not the only things Nigerian journalists are guilty of. You read some newspaper articles and wonder if the writers attended a secondary school.
