plaetton:Thank you! After all is said and done, most Nigerians are Zombies and Nigerian pastors are criminals (and that starts with Oyakhilome). And there is no difference between them and those who defend them. |
I just watched the documentary. Ol' boy, Nigerians are gullible. That's a perfect combo of poverty, illiteracy, greed & 1st-class foolishness. How can you give N20 to a pastor who drives around in 3 luxury SUVs worth N40m ![]() More annoying is the fact that some people even defend these fraudsters called pastors. Can you imagine the numbers of girls in that congregation that man would be sleeping with? Why do you need so many bodyguards if you're working for God? Can't God protect you? Don't people use their brains anymore? On a more serious note, I think Lagos state govt should start taxing churches, based on the size of their congregations. There are simply too many churches in Lagos. I moved out of my last house because I was surrounded by 3 churches. Always making noise every Fri-Sat night, so much that I could hardly sleep. Why are we Africans so backward? |

Why stop at Nigerian Police? Pray for Nigeria to turn to London overnight. Your education is a waste. Why not stay in the village farming? |
What's happening is only natural. In the coming decades or maybe centuries, I believe most religions will naturally fizzle out. Religions were held together through a combination of coercion, threats, violence etc, not reason. But unfortunately, the world is now a very small place as a result of technological advancements and civil liberties. It's now difficult to sway the younger generation's thoughts like in the past. They'll rather reason logically using available facts instead of centuries-old fables. |
LanoV:If you want to convert KB to MB, just type the following on Google (You must use CAPS for KB)--> 7557633KB in MB It will show you the result as --> 7 557 633 kilobytes = 7 380.50098 megabytes You don't need a calculator. |
Indeed, a land of IDIOTS ruled by FOOLS. What do we do? Lets's fold our hands and keep asking God to solve our problems. When the suffering reaches our neck, we'll wake up. |
I have a faulty Canon digital camera and needs a reputable company who can fix it in Lagos, preferably around the Island. I called Panabiz (they're Canon products distributors in Nigeria) but they said they haven't started dealing in cameras yet. The Lebanese/Indian guy didn't know anyone either. |
See how this country is wasting its best! I hope the youth will be bold enough to take their future into their own hands soon. |
Take your time o. Don't yab my President Gridlock Jonathan. |
You mean President Gridlock Jonathan? The OP's butt-licking is part of why Nigeria is what it is today - 14th failed nation in the world. ![]() Tell me what is exalted about that office. People like you can't even comprehend the fact that this country has been completely destroyed. This is a disappointing topic. |
Thanks. It's really serious o. Well, Nigerians always have a way of adapting. |
LOL I heard that there is serious flooding at Alpha beach. That the beach is encroaching into houses. Does anyone have pics? Can Johnie help us pls? |
king-child:Ol boy, nobody is justifying anything here. What we need most at this moment is a strong leadership, which Jonathan profoundly lacks. The guy always looks dazed and lacks the confidence of a leader. Action too, zero. But when it comes to firing judges, protecting corrupt politicians, extension of tenure, he's at the forefront. And you guys should stop your lazy preaching that Boko Haram is bombing everywhere because a Southern Xtian is in power. Was Obasanjo not a Southern Xtian? Weren't they attacking when Yar'adua was in Aso Rock? And FYI, I don't see Buhari as a Northerner, neither Jonathan as a Southerner. As far as i am concerned, we are all Nigerians so long as the leader is honest and has the people in mind. It's this open-mindedness that made me vote Buhari-Bakare. But the ethnic bigotry that made you and fellow Southerners blindly vote Jonathan is what's still pushing you now such that even if Jonathan is leading the country into a ditch, you will still support him. To you, Jonathan can never go wrong, and he should never be criticized, just because he's a Southerner. I think he should do the honorable thing and resign or call a national conference, or both. If you want to be honest with yourself, you'll know that this govt. doesn't look like it'll survive the next 4 years. Jonathan thought that being in power is just about its trappings. Well, he knows better now. I'm a Southerner and i detest what BH is doing, but then we need solutions. And we have not even started talking about the mountain of problems facing this country, all of which Jonathan promised to solve in no time. Jonathan: I will never never (sic) let you down. Well, Nigerians feel let down already. |
Buhari-Bakare would have kept this country together and fought corruption vigorously, which we all know is at the root of the ills of this country. We begged people to vote them but it seemed they were too honest for the majority of Nigerians. Rather, they voted for good luck, not PDP. I heareby present to you, ladies and gentlemen, President Gridlock Jonathan. |
Hambolaj01:There is no logic in this statement. So you think the US needs to invade Nigeria in order to have access to its oil? So what about our oil they've being buying for decades? You sound like a naive mind. |
It's obvious that Jonathan cannot lead this country. It's high time we start the process of dismantling Nigeria. We should go and solve our various problems separately. The earlier the better. |

Another Nigerian was arrested - Gareth Okoro, 30, of Shepherds Grove, Deighton, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2025198/UK-riots-2011-Birmingham-police-set-cinema-van-help-shoppers-identify-looters.html |
He's scared. AGABAYA! |
These are weighty allegations but they mean nothing if there's no proof. And the onus is on him to provide that. Otherwise he's just another liar seeking cheap popularity. He should also mention names of those that are still alive. That could be his only leverage if he's telling the truth, otherwise he could be murdered before he mentions more names. |
I see Lagos State Ministry of Env, Flooding Office (hope that's correct) vehicles regularly at Lekki these days, apparently working on the Flooding issue. However, Hi-Tech has to apply their brains with the expressway construction so that flood water will no longer be diverted from the new road into the towns along the express. But we have a very long way to go in dealing with the flooding problem especially in new areas such as Eti-Osa where there are not much asphalt roads and drainages yet. |
Fashola is doing a good job and should be encouraged as well as constructively criticised. Let's remember that Lagos does not have limitless oil money like Dubai and Abu Dhabi. |
This is PDP's gift to us. But i like the way the level of of anger is growing rapidly. I believe we'll act at some point. |
Sorry i forgot to get back on this. Shortly afterwards, i changed the brake rotors and pads. Even changed the 2 front tires to new Bridgestones. Car runs as smooth as butter now. The Lagos rain didn't stand a chance at all. ![]() |
He was just trying his luck. I'm sure he's starting to see the limits of good luck. (Pun intended) |
He's obviously feeling the heat. |
President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday technically distanced himself from the controversial single tenure agenda when he said the proposal "is not my idea." Jonathan, who spoke at the 56th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Abuja said the information got leaked to the press in the process of consultation. According to him, the single term idea emanated from the recommendations of the inter-party committee, excluding the Action Congress of Nigeria, made to the Justice Mohammed Lawal Uwias Electoral Reforms panel. He said he was the chairman of the committee that was constituted by late President Umaru Yar'Adua. Besides, he said he has not consulted with the party leadership nor the leadership of the National Assembly on the issue. He said however, that the idea was good as it would help to reduce acrimony and election cost. "It (single tenure) has nothing to do with the four year presidency that Nigerians have given to us. We just wanted to clarify it and I think we need to mention that it was not my idea; it was the idea of the committee that I chaired which we believe those of us, the majority members of the committee believe, is the best option," Jonathan said. He added that the idea was not meant to elongate his tenure as the opposition groups are insinuating. Jonathan said: " There is a brief comment I want to make on this so called single tenure. I wouldn’t have love to, but probably, it is becoming so topical in the papers. Most of the papers carried it today and when things happen, they do take it to a different direction. "Since we are meeting here as the NEC of the party, it is probably proper to clarify some of these issues so that it will not be misunderstood. The rumour came in, it is me that asked some few people, whether a single tenure will be a better option than a double tenure. "Before I take any decision, I used to ask people. But, that is not the end of consultation. It is a major chain. So, before I can even send such a bill to the National Assembly, I will consult with the governors because, any constitutional amendment involves the states and if they are not on the same page with you, there is no way such an amendment can easily sail through," the president added. www.thenationonlineng.net/2011/index.php/news-update/13900-single-term-not-my-idea-says-jonathan.html |
