In all honesty, Ameachi is a poor loser. What's he doing in Abuja? Is he the first to be rig out? After all the issue is in court.

Congratulations to Nigerians, our President and Vice-president elect. They must govern with fear, strength, conviction, and love of the country.

They must learn from the previous government who failed woefully in putting the country first, who failed in listening to the voice of the people, who failed by dining with crooks, criminals and secessionist elements.

May God grant you grace to succeed where others failed, strength in making the right decision, wisdom in balancing various interest that make up your government.

All these touts causing wahala are not ghosts, they belong to an association that has the backing of the government. Relocation without justice is rubbish. By now I'm expecting to be seeing pics of those touts that committed the crimes.
Politics › Re: Grant Amnesty To Boko Haram, Northern Elders Tell Buhari by luvmijeje(f): 4:37am On May 23, 2015
I trust my President-elect not to listen all these rubbish requests but this is one of the repercussion of celebrating criminals and making them feel like a king. This is the repercussion of a failed justice system. An outcome of a leader who purposely weaken our military while chasing shadows.
Politics › Re: What GEJ Has Done To Nigeria. by luvmijeje(f): 4:29am On May 23, 2015
Jonathan is purposely causing these problems in order cover the massive looting under his government. He just wants to divert Buhari's attention but he'll fail.

Merit will not be compromised. You have to be competent, you have to possess the kind of character, attributes of the leader. You have to be pan-Nigerian and be a very solid character to lead the National Assembly and that is what we are talking about.
Emphasis on pan-Nigeria, if don't believe in this country and you're praying for this country to fail, please don't bother contesting for that seat.

You're obviously foolish like Fayose so I don't expect you to see anything wrong. Is relocation the solution to thug disturbances? What if the thugs decide to continue fighting in the new location, is he still going to move them to another location?

Believe it or not my contribution is called constructive criticism.

you are so pathetic. just shut your mouth if you have nothing good to say. if the governor doesn't act you will say he's not working. Stop being judgemental. I doubt if you truly understand leadership..or what being responsible for people's welfare is all about.
What kind of foolish leadership? If you're unfortunate never to have seen or feel the impact of good leadership it's not my fault.

This is what happen when one have a tout as a Governor. Is he not suppose to direct security operatives to arrest everyone who is directly or indirectly link to the disturbance? Is he not suppose to beef up security in the affected areas?

As far as I'm concern, this is called eye service...... Oju aye.

Walahi, I'll miss Fashola. For his sake, I won't mind if the constitution is change to 4 terms, four years each for elected officials. He's the reasons why no matter they say about Tinubu, he will always have my respect for giving him the platform to shine.

Hopefully, Ambode will perform better than him but I doubt it.

So hold your leaders accountable first. Lead by example. But you can't can you. And you know it. Everyone just wants to get a piece of the oil. They look at Danjuma and the rest of the oil oligarchs living in affluence and safety earning billions for nothing and they want a piece of that. Catch those first, make an example of them by hanging them in the public square to send a clear message to Tompolo and co. then go after them with a sledge hammer. The real, knowledgable Nigerians will then get your sympathy. My dear, Tompolo and co. are not your problem. They are not the ones who have ruined Nigeria and you know this.
I'm already holding my leaders responsible and I'm not talking about my Governor. As I'm typing this I can see my honourable supervising the construction of street lights. Last week, he took most of the kids for excursion. Everyday on my way to work, I'm always seeing school buses taking children to and fro their schools courtesy my Representative.

These are what have seen within the week. . . . That's the definition of holding your leader accountable.

Gbawe:
Thank you. There is only so long some self-serving mercenaries can don the toga of "pro-people freedom fighters" for till the entire world see them for what they are. This is not 1999 when OBJ took over or even 2007 when Yar Adua led the charge to compensate the militants with amnesty and genuinely empower the NDDC to try and make amends for the sufferings of the ND and her people. This is 2015 when it is now fully agreed by all balanced and truthful people worldwide that the leaders of the ND, whether militant or political, are exploitative and duplicitous charlatan who do not care for the people and are only interested in lining their own pocket.

No one will therefore support the continuous blackmail of Nigeria by a people who show they are disinterested in holding their direct leaders, i.e those who have failed them the most, accountable. Clearly Nigeria and her leadership has shifted ground and made tangible concessions to the ND. Yet we have not seen these concessions translate into any appreciable gains for the people of the ND because of the corruption and anti-people callousness of the leaders of the region. The pipeline protection contracts is one example. How can anyone support the continuation of protection contracts costing Nigeria huge sums of money yet only delivering the biggest levels of oil theft ever recorded? Clearly the militants are 'eating' on both sides (money from government contract + selling bunkered oil) so why would any sane person argue in favor of a continuation of this deplorable status quo that is only benefiting crooks rather than Nigeria and Nigerians? It is like arguing in favor of the continuation of the fuel subsidy scam !!!!

It is the same as how NDDC leaders get a lot to transform the ND yet loot all moneys provided only to turn around duplicitously, so as to deceive their own people they deliberately and heartlessly impoverish , and begin shouting of "injustice against us the owners of the oil that feeds Nigeria". All good Nigerians, including ordinary Niger Deltans who are not gaining anything from the billions flying around, should welcome reforms that will truly work for all Nigerians and destroy, once and for all, the "business as usual" contraptions and arrangements destroying all sectors and corners of our nation. It is time we all put ethnic jingoism aside to begin demanding what is in the best interest of Nigeria and Nigerians. For all the noise some SE and SS bigots make here daily, it remains a total disgrace to them that Yar Adua, from the Fulani ethnic group they hate passionately, did far more for the ND and had more goodwill for the region in the short time he led than "son of the soil" Jonathan has managed in 5 years as President !!!
It's indeed a total disgrace to them. Buhari should get ready to deal ruthlessly within the law with any foolish ants that wants to hold the country at the jugular. He will definitely have our support.

Nigeria has no choice. It is the price we have to pay for allowing the situation deteriorate to such levels. Buhari has just two choices, return to the 'legal' status quo of 2004 when militancy raged on or run a two track solution of 'carrot and stick'. The military is not the solution. You don't go into a gasoline station with a flame thrower to eject illegal occupants if you depend solely on the fuel that is stored there.

Hope you know a large proportion of these payments to Tompolo and co. goes for settlement to 'the boys' living in those areas who see millions of dollars worth of oil flowing literally by their doorsteps daily and can barely resist getting their hands on it.

Nigeria should just find alternative sources of revenue to oil but in the meanwhile completely privatise the industry. Through the PIB the IOC's should be permitted to negotiate directly with host communities to secure their assets and pay whatever they deem fit for proper accountability. This is the model in all other parts of the world, not Nigeria where individuals use the power of the state to bypass their obligations towards their hosts.

I say again to every Nigerian out there. Can you allow that in your town, your village, your home.
The militancy was successful because we all thought they were freedom fighters...... They have the sympathy of Nigerians and the world in Nigeria because we all they they have a point in the face of degradation of their environment.

Years after, NDDC came in, 13% derivation was passed into law, amnesty came in. Still on the strength of that Jonathan became the Vice-president and later became the President. And yet you are still asking for more. What have you done with the one given and earned by you?

The problem of the Niger-Delta and Nigerians in general is the failure of the people to hold their leaders responsible.

So if they want to go back to the Creek, they are welcome but they will not have the support of well meaning Nigerians.

All these will take time and are only possible if there is peace. Reforms don't take place in times of conflict. To change gear you engage the clutch not turn off the engine. Reform yes, but ease off the status quo ever so wisely. May Buhari's supporters not push him to taking rash decisions or he will face similar problems as he did in the eighties.
The status quo is legally, politically and morally unacceptable in the face of unimaginable high level of oil theft. To add insult to injury nobody has and could been held accountable.

I agree. So what ideas do you have.
First of all, the Nigeria police force, other security operatives and generally the justice system should be restructure and well funded.

Secondly, Buhari must show sincerity of purpose by implementing his plan for Niger Delta thereby making the criminal elements redundant while bringing the people who matter most to his side. He should do that by employing the right people to head NDDC and other like minded agencies.

Finally, he must be transparent, open and honest. He must take the people along in every decision process.
