But you can try Germany, its still free. Go follow the German student thread on travel section and do what others there are doing. That was exactly what I did when I was about to leave naija the first time.

I did every single thing myself (well, except from financial sponsorship by my parents) through the knowledge I got from nairaland travel section, and I followed the whole process. So you must be willing to read hundreds and hundreds of pages, do additional exams [eg ielts/toefl) if required (I didn't Ielts twice), send emails to schools about your individual qualifications if its enough, and more.

Its a question of how much you want it. But those that truly want it are leaving Nigeria everyday. In my city for example, I go to rccg church and almost every other week, we get new students coming to church who just left Nigeria weeks ago, and their story are the same, they wanted it so bad and did what it takes. About nine years ago, I opened a thread close to a milliom views, about helping people come to Finland to study tuition free, and it delights my heart to see hundreds upon hundreds of Nigerians and even foreigners following who have moved to Finland, brought their families over and changed their life for good. As time goes on, I'll enter into politics. Naija suppose get better, and it will happen in your time. But right now, I have to battle the temptation of comfort. Infact, Tambuwal forgot that Femi Gbajabiamila was one of those who jumped the gate of the National Assembly to withstand the undemocratic lockout by the Goodluck Jonathan government against Tambuwal when he was at the point of decamping from PDP to the newly formed APC.

That matter pained Tinubu and he told Tambuwal to his face, reminding him how Gbajabiamila came to plead Tambuwal's case before him, so that the ACN legislators as the largest opposition then could work with Tambuwal, who was then in PDP, to defeat PDP's choice of the Yoruba Mrs Mulikat Akande.

Another thing I noticed about the west, especially America is that once an African or third world country is beginning to develop and prosper, USA will look for a stupid excuse to invade and bomb them. I believe if Nigeria gets a good visionary president by chance today and begins to rebuild Nigeria to prosperity, USA will cook up a propaganda and invade Nigeria back into underdevelopment.

Nigerian issue (and at large, the global south AKA the third world) is not only the doing of Nigerian politicians but also the configuration of the global order. After the second war, the winner (the USA) and the allies signed the Bretton woods agreement, a global financial and economical system designed to favor just the west, especially the US (eg the USD being the world reserved currency), and the rest of the world scrapping under. Africa in particular was assigned the role of resource extraction only, and the inflow of technology, finances, industrialization, etc was denied. Although some countries rose above it (eg China which was under complete embargo by the western world for three decades), most countries didn't.

I will recommend a book for you, it is titled ''the confession of an economic hitman'' by John Perkins. The author worked for the US government and as the name of the book implied, he was a hitman sent globally to destroy economies of resource-rich countries, and Nigeria was one of them, he mentioned Nigeria in that book. I am writing this to give you a bird's eye view of a global landscape while things are the way they are. This is in no way absolving Nigerian leaders of their responsibilities to do better, but because they do not only take the blame. For example, lots of loan request by the previous administration to build a power grid, refineries, dam, and structures for industrialization was denied until China came into the picture to change the game.

Having said that, the sad news is that even if Nigeria breaks up, it's just one problem solved, the bigger problem is the one above, the global order of white supremacy that place itself on top, at the expense of everyone. Russia and Ukraine war is a perfect example. The west unleashed all its economic missiles to destroy and collapse the Russian economy, but Russia is too strong to fall. With over 5000 sanctions rained on a single country, no African country will survive it, just like Russia did. So you see, we are royally forked up.
