Whether this story is true of not, but there is something to learn here for a lot of people. There is a chemical they use, it erases memory temporary and make anyone they talk to to just believe everything. It has nothing to do with juju, just a powder made from a tree whose origin is traced to South America. Why? first off most of Nigerian families wouldn't want to tell others their person committed suicide as it would reflect really bad on both them and the dead. Secondly, there's next to no postmortem analysis and autopsy from coroners, pathologists and medical examiners but this is commonplace in developed countries so even Nigerian families may not know their person committed suicide unless he hung himself or they see obvious signs he ingested "sniper"

Suicide here is wildly underreported just like any form of death outside violent deaths (which are glaring)

I think Nigerians actually commit suicide more than developed countries but I really don't have evidence for that

Honestly, I'm loving the nation discussing a very crucial issue like this, even though more of us are hardworking despite being frustrated daily. It's just unfortunate the president who initiated the discuss, called us out on a foreign soil where he was supposed to protect us as a national father.

Conclusively, the Government must be ready to wake up parents to their responsibilities while fulfilling theirs (improved economy, increased infrastructure, etc.) as well. Government should not rely on some docile national orientation agencies but directly sponsor responsible NGOs and task force through special ministries to achieve this goal.

There is a wake-up call for Government, this particular issue is a wake-up call for Parents.

If you think the comfort in western world is everything in life...then until you get there. Many westerners with their so called advanced society live miserable life. Many years ago I met an European who said many people in the West are less happier and that when he travel to countries like Brazil that has sizable population of poor people he does not seem to understand why these poor people who live in abject poverty live a happier life.
