ReubenE: Don't mind him. Probably he is thinking winning a war is by emotions.
No country can withstand the firepower of the US military especially on conventional warfare. The US is only showing restraint because of the casualties from a nuclear fallout. US has the capacity to overrun NK in a day.
The man should go and study Global Firepower Index and learn for himself. For every one submarine in the Russian fleet, the US has 20, likewise destroyers and cutters etc. It is only the US that can pride herself with having over 20 aircraft carriers as against just a single one in the Chinese fleet, and Russia's none.
Airpower, no country comes near the US. Russia and China can only dare. With an effective and efficient missile delivery system, missile defence system (THAAD), elite supersonic jets like F-22 Raptors etc US is lord of the air.
The list goes on and on.....US will still be around for sometime, and definitely is not showing signs of passing the baton to another country anytime soon. Anyone that thinks otherwise has a slippery relationship with the truth. Haba my brother. Softly softly o. http://www.globalfirepower.com/navy-submarines.asp Oga Explorers can you please do an expose of the Russian Federal Protective Service so that can compare. Thanks. |

Why not having the required know-how to verify this information, I think some things should be noted about missing persons.
In the U.S. there is an organization known as Amber Alert while in Russia, it is known as Liza Alert which reacts to missing persons.
Can we in Nigeria set up an agency even if it is volunteer based and privately funded to tackle the issue of kidnappings and missing persons?? It is very urgent now.
Coz I do not see the required traction from government on this matter. |

It is equally a pity, that due to the high unemployment rate and abundance of labour, most employees do not lay emphasis on these points. The major concern is "make I just leave house" especially when you people that are dependent on you. Otherwise if you are being too choosy and nitpicking whether the job role fits your skill set or not, or if it remunerates you well, somebody who is more [smart] desperate will beat you to it and collect the "small change". It is well. |

vantage001: A lion does not concern itself with the opinions of lambs. The Imperial Japan was a superpower once upton a time, and colonized china, allied itself with Stalin of Russia and Hitler of Germany(the so-called axis powers) to commit atrocities against the human race especially on her weak neighbour china. When Imperial Japan made a terrible mistake by attacking the US, the US responded with overwhelming force and calmed their gra-gra same with NAZI germany. Infact, both Germany and Japan are now America's strongest allies after getting pummeled by America in WW2. My thoughts are with the victims and their families.
Terrorism might try to break us (either here in Nigeria or in any other part of the world) but they will never win.
The biggest danger is the so called 'lone wolf' or insider terrorism. As in St. Petersburg of all cities?

Unclerukus: It's definitely spiritual. When I was serving I shared a lodge with two other female Corp members. Mind you, I am very spiritual conscious either through dream or discernment but I am not a hopeless fanatic. As soon as I started staying there, I experienced the most terrifying and longest sleep paralysis encounters, hearing and seeing various unexplained things. Some nights I encountered it a shocking 5-4 times a night, I was scared to go to sleep at night. The funny thing was if I switched apartments, I wouldn't experience anything as such. Like I said, I have a special gift when it comes to dreaming. One night in my dream, I heard a voice tell me that one of the girls I shared the apartment with is possessed and does astral projections to just torment me spiritually. Funny thing was I had a firebrand Christian friend at NCCF, one day he walked up to me and told me same thing, I was shocked, it was ministered to him when praying, he advised me to park out but also told me it happened because I was spiritually weak. He said they dare not try it with someone who is fervent, I was engaged in various sins, hence my dark soul. I parked out and till I finished serving, I didn't experience even just a second's encounter. From what I noticed, personally and from people experinces, sleep paralysis is done by mostly people, witches and wizard and to some extent a bigger problem, principalities. There's no scientific explanation for a phenomenon that only happens when you sleep face up. Or a dejavu. Most scientists are Satanists or atheist(Steven hawkings), so will come up with anything to support their beliefs. There's always an alternating part. Back and front, black and white, liquid and solid, good and evil, physical and spiritual, light and darkness. please OP , don't let people loose guard over what might be a spiritual attack. May God bless you. I have gone through all the comments here and I think everyone has right to his or her personal opinion. The spirit world exists and we should all be aware of it. I personally have experienced this issue several times as a little kid and occasionally while growing up and I can state categorically that they were spiritual attacks. To those who are Christians on this thread and believe in Jesus, never stop to pray. To those who are scientists; keep on trusting in your scientific explanations. However, I pray that you do not experience what will shake your conviction when it is too late. Peace to all! |

Atwood isn't thinking. After confessing, what prevents Catalan from X..ing him and his son?
Maggie Q played her cards too open by directly casting suspicion on Macleish. Due to her arranged 'accident' I am certain that Peter M will become VP
Jack Bauer...sorry President Kirkman should be wary of his COS Aaron Shore. Something tells me that the guy is involved somehow in the plot

It was a great debate, with Trump edging it slightly especially on the economy/loss of jobs. However, his biggest mistake was in not agreeing to concede defeat if he loses...that will be the major headline of news media which will affect his momentum again.
Also, this debate hasn't helped Clinton with respect to her trust/truthful ratings. It is clear now that her foundation is a scam, and she has a two mouthed policy. One in private to Wall street bankers and the other in public to woo potential voters....which is bad. |

Bros, a civil war instigated by who? You accuse another of being in a warped reality, but what about you. Syria was a peaceful and secular state that was destroyed by West's need to foist its values on others and for political/economic interests of the sunni axis in the Middle east. These rebels your are referring to are majorly based in exotic hotels at Istanbul or London and then claim to be fighting Assad. The majority of the forces in East Aleppo are Al Nusra and Ahrar al sham and they will be vanquished soon. Lucasbalo: Preferred candidate by right wing racist nuts who are minorities in America. He will lose in a big way on November 8. All you need to do is look at the battle ground states and tell us how a racist will get 270 electoral votes. Oga Lucasbalo, both candidates are extreme and I don't see who is the saint amongst them. If you call Trump racist, what about Clinton? She once called blacks 'predators' and championed expansion of prison facilities to accommodate them. But right now, she has become a saint. I know a lot of blacks are supporting her coz of Trump's promise to deport illegal immigrants and bla bla bla, but the real question is: what has clinton got to offer? I personally see her as an untrustworthy person and this election is still open for both candidates. |

Politics › Re: What Will You Do To Save Nigeria If You Are Elected As President Tomorrow???? by mach7(m): 7:13am On Sep 24, 2016 |
NigeriaKitchen: 1. Slash salary and allowances of president and vice by 60%: president and vice president should earn like civil servants, so I will start with myself by slashing not just my monthly salary but all salaries and allowances/entitlements, including easta code abi easter codeine lol
2. Implement federalism whereby each state controls and manages her resources and remits 30% to the federal/central government which will be used to tackle national security/boundary security watch, immigration, foreign affairs, etc
3. Privatise every federal government owned asset or business such that government will only become a regulatory body and not management. This will bring efficiency among government workers, and curb corruption in government offices
4. Make sure most government handled activities are computerized such that they will be done mostly by electronic; especially cash handling to reduce corruption and bribery
5. Ban cattle grazzing and find effective ways to improve cattle rearing such that we will have more ranches for cattle herders.....and have more Nigerians go into farming by making farming lucrative and attractive using farm mechanization and improved security for Nigerian farmers
6. Implement State Policing: every state must have their own Police.
7. Scrap state of origin: all Nigerians are equal and the same no matter their state of origin.
8. All political office or post must be made unattractive such that they will earn very meagre salary and allowances so people will stop clamoring to go into politics to make money or to fight poverty. If you want to be a millionaire, go and start a company, invent something or develop a new business idea and don't ever think about going into politics to make money because political offices and posts will earn even lesser than school principals!
9. No politician or his/her children/spouse/immediate relative will be allowed to travel out of Nigeria twice in a year the moment you are elected or appointed into office. They will submit their travel documents to a special Federal Police Team to enforce strict travel monitoring for all politicians!
10. Increase tax for the rich: if you are worth more than 1billion naira, then you will pay 35% higher tax. To reduce your tax, open more companies, farms, businesses and employ more people so that the more people you employ, the lesser the tax you will pay as a rich person.
11. Tax religious bodies: churches, mosques, shrines, juju houses, all must be registered and must pay tax to the government. The higher your revenue, the higher your tax.....to reduce your tax, build schools and make it free, open companies and employ Nigerians, then you will pay less tax as a Church or Mosque
12. Life jail for any political office holder found guilty of corruption: 35 years jail term for any corrupt practices no matter how small
13. Reduce number of senators and reps: there will only be 36 senators and 102 (3 per state) reps, and their salary/allowance cannot exceed 1 million naira only! No senator, rep, commissioner, perm sec, etc will be allowed to travel out of Nigeria twice in a year. Same with their children, spouses, immediate relatives. So before you think of becoming a senator/rep/commissioner/etc you will think it well and know that you are only going to serve and not to make money! You have my vote sir. Your suggestions are well thought out and properly articulated, but know that you can't do this under this current system of democracy. You will need to abrogate more powers to yourself, you will need the cooperation of NASS on the reduction, you will need the forced cooperation of citizens to comply as they are generally stubborn etc. Insought, only a military dictator or a civilian president who allocates so much powers to himself without recourse to our corrupt constitution can see this through. Kudos sir. |

kross01: Oil contributes 15% of our GDP, how does the drop in oil price take us into recession? This is just like telling me a shareholder holding 15% shares in a company can unilaterally decide the company's future. Drop in crude prices should have only affected our earnings but could never have driven us into recession, economic mismanagement did. And the chief contributor to such mismanagement is the constant policy summersault by the present government, nothing erodes investors confidence more than that. Bros, pls don't be ignorant. Oil directly accounts for about 20% of our GDP. However, when considering our service sector (banking, insurance, shipping) which accounts for roughly 45% of GDP and noting that its major revenue is from oil related sources, how won't we not be in a recession? Even the agric sector stills gets it direct investment from oil related revenue. Be informed that Oil is accounting for over 90% of our foreign exchange earnings and this earnings are used to finance our imports used by the oil and non-oil sectors. |
Politics › Nigeria President Blames Aide For Plagiarising Obama by mach7(op): 10:00pm On Sep 17, 2016 |
Nigeria's President Muhammadu Buhari has blamed an "overzealous" staff member for plagiarising parts of a speech by Barack Obama. Several passages of a speech Mr Buhari made on 8 September overlapped with President Obama's address after winning election in 2008. His office admitted the sentences were "too close to be passed as coincidence". The two men are due to meet at the UN General Assembly next week. "There was a mistake by an overzealous staff and we regret that this has happened," Mr Buhari's spokesman Garba Shehu wrote on Twitter, saying those responsible would be punished. "President Buhari urges Nigerians to look beyond this incident and focus on the message of change which the country needs in order to restore our cherished value systems." One of the offending passages Buhari: "We must resist the temptation to fall back on the same partisanship, pettiness and immaturity that have poisoned our country for so long." Obama: "Let us resist the temptation to fall back on the same partisanship and pettiness and immaturity that has poisoned our politics for so long.'' Mr Buhari used the copied extracts in launching a campaign called "Change Begins With Me", part of a bid to tackle corruption in Nigeria. The irony was not lost to some online, who mocked Mr Buhari. On the BBC Africa Facebook page though, others were more sympathetic. "So what's the big deal? Famous lines from great people are used over and over again by others," wrote one commentator. "The message conveyed is the most important thing." Earlier this year Melania Trump, the wife of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, was accused of plagiarising portions of Michelle Obama's 2008 Democratic National Convention speech. www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-37395605
