PoliticsRe: 300 Nigerian Girls Languish In Libyan Prisons – YAMIDR by MacLovington(m): 3:10pm On Aug 16, 2013
Just imagine this one as Nigerian ambassador anywhere. Tufiakwa. Too bad if your people were carried away as war booty.

That's how life was then. The Romans, The Egyptians, The Greek/Macedonians, Persians, Arabs, Mesopotamians (Nebuchadnezzar enslaved Isrealites), Gauls, Goths, Vikings, and all great empires and Kingdoms carried human war booties. If you can't win a war don't fight. If you are brave and fight but lose, prepare for slavery. Deal with it.

Your bigotry centuries later is backwardness.
During the slave trade era a prominent Bini Oba banned the sale of any Bini into slavery but was an active slaver himself.

Today nemesis has caught up with the Bini people as they now willingly sell their owns elves and daughters into the most debased form of modern slavery.

The Igbos suffered heavily during slavery as many were sold of by the likes of that Oba now today their children are selling themselves into slavery.

The fulanis have attacked their hosts in Jos and Benue. The Yorubas are already betraying themselves and the northerners are demanding power shift.

Nemesis . Ain't that a b1tch
With the amount of bigotry people are spewing here peace will remain elusive in Naija. These under 40s will surely poison the kids' mind and continue the hate cycle.

Mayra C: First if she put that post, I don't think she's completely ok with that...Secondly,u cannot use d fact that she is sexually active to validate d guy behavior and all this...''everything comes at a price'' huh Human values, human beings have NO price..By the simple fact of knowing that she needs money so bad and she's ready to do everything she can for that, this guy is just taking advantage of d situation..Pretty sad..Do u really think that she would have been with him if she did not need money...so pls again, some people have to stop taking advantage of other people's weakeness..If someone really wanna help, he can go ahead without taking any advantage of d situation...u cannot give money for helping expecting sex in return ..
.

It seems that some women just like to blame men for everything. What's the highest amount you have ever given to anyone for free?

The highest I have given is £3,000 but I wouldn't do it again. People think you are silly or pick money on the ground.
I still do help but over £500 is a no no.

PoliticsRe: Poverty Worsened In Nigeria Under PDP Rule- African Development Bank by MacLovington(m):
Poverty has worsened in the UK also under David Cameroon. So has it over the past few years almost worldwide.

All those tribalists who think Nigeria belongs to them only will seize every opportunity to condemn Jonathan and do as if 49 years of waste by leaders from their tribes never happened.

Imagine El-Rufai from the North like Abacha and Babangida blaming GEJ for Nigeria's oil theft problems (on another thread here on NL) that dates back as long as anyone can remember.
RomanceRe: A Thread For Faithful Partners by MacLovington(m): 11:07am On Aug 10, 2013
devour129: Av been faithfull for a lot of reasons e.g that's the way I am, am too lazy when it comes to living double life,I love my hubby ,I don't want to embarrass my folks(that's one the reasons I ddnt lose my virginity till I was married, yes my folks scare me),I abhor infidelity with every pore in my body,am a prude( am really not a sex person so it will be a waste looking outside) etc
.

Very commendable dear. You may not be a sex person but most men are" sex people". What I mean is that don't be prude to the point of not "exploring" enough with your man. While we like our women clean, virtuous and faithful just like you, she also has to be a bit of a "sl*t" in the bedmatic faculty grin

I mean quite a few men are going out because their otherwise pretty, lovely & adorable Mrs is a total bore bedmatically. Not a good excuse but a motivating factor.

I Personally and personally mean no offence my graceful lady.
RomanceRe: A Thread For Faithful Partners by MacLovington(m): 10:51am On Aug 10, 2013
Why do you make it sound as if only men are unfaithful? Don't men prefer faithful wives?

One reason why women are so successful at cheating is that men hardly suspect them even if happening right under their nose.
There is also an agenda by some women to paint men as sole cheaters. I have seen many topics here on NL along the lines of " married woman dies having s3x with a neighbour in a hotel".

I have never cheated on any woman but I am sure most women would rate me as more likely to cheat than women who are actually cheating if you put us side by side.

nne3870: NoW you got me laughing really hard cheesy cheesy grin

@op Is a good thing you are faithful to your girlfrnd of 4 years which is commendable but we have to wait till you are married. only then can we fully agree that you can be faithful.

Women prefer faithful husbands.
But still its not bad that you have started and I pray it remains so when you get married.
PoliticsRe: FG Urged To Facilitate Ibori’s Release From London Jail by MacLovington(m):
Aarenaija: The people from that part of the country are just like that. To them their son is just being a victim of political crossfire.

But I tell you there is nothing like corruption as mush as the person is settling them with their own share of the loot.

Whether he does well in office or not does not matter to them. they will tell you it our our region and our money. just give them some money and organize parties for them regularly you are settled.
.
Stop generalising. Which part of Nigeria do people not play victim and play ethnic card? Is Abacha's son not aiming for political office up North? Is Bode George an outcast today in the West? I have not heard of Ette or Bankole being lynched in the West.
In a country with so much hunger and moral bankruptcy, you will always find praise singers.

deandavid: When i hear comments like this, i begin to wonder if these politicians are really our problem or rather the masses
.

Is it not from among the masses that politicians come from? When the masses are ready for progress, the politicians too will be forced to perform.
Ibori was only a petty London thief/shoplifter/criminal. He only became a big thief in the enabling environment of Naija.

EducationRe: When You Can't Answer A Question In A Lecture Class? by MacLovington(m):
Nna, the thing can be somewhat embarrassing. But I always sat in front of LT so profs may not bother you too much. But in Problem Based Learning method and seminars (not seminar meetings as most know it) here in Europe, lecturing is actually more of a quiz session.

When you are among hyper-intelligent students from UK, Sweden, Japan, China, France, Germany, USA etc and you are the only black person in a small seminar group of 30 people, it's even more important to get it right most times.

The dreaded response from prof was" if you do that you will kill your patient and you will have to explain it all to the coroner". LOL.

deandavid: no there is hope, for it is said, if there is life, there is hope, i begins from me and you, we should start looking for ways to take up leadership positions in our communities and local govts, so that we the enlighten ones can turn things arround, our parents have failed us, we shouldnt fail our children.....
.

Very happy for your optimism. You're probably about 30 or below. I was once like you.
I tried to live a life without bribery and corruption in Naija but I became laughing stock among friends who bribed their way into everything, uni, job etc.

I travelled abroad to escape all that. Here I went to university with kids of the cream of the society based purely on God-given ability and merit, not long leg or bribe.

Christianity EtcRe: Must I Dedicate My Car In The Church? by MacLovington(m):
Na wa o!

I remember parents buying VW beetle brand new for mum, then 504 salon for dad, then 504 Station Wagon complete with AC (not a common thing then), then VW bus (aka kia kia bus as family school bus), then 505 with AC, then Mercedes 200. There was steady increase in family fortune. Mind you these cars all cost below N6,000, all brand new.

We didn't do any special dedication in our church and parents' cars never had more than a minor scratch.

When did we become so fearful and insecure (I don't believe it's genuine fear of God) about life that we must consult modern day babalawos (MOGs) for everything?

Poster if you don't want to go do dedication, gather your wife and kids and thank God for his kindness. It is your heart that matters. Please drive carefully so that nobody will claim you had accident because you didn't dedicate it. Shikena.

jude4real: Is there really any hope 4 this country at all? If it were to be in advance countries, Ibori's name will be black listed and forgotten entirely. Here in Nigeria, we are celebrating a common criminal and calling him legend.
.

Simple answer is no. No hope. one step forward, 3 backward.

We're going to be going round in circles till Thy kingdom come.

Since when did black people start having long pointed nose?

Read up a bit about anthropology as it applies to human anatomy.
