Afam4eva: I think i've been wroncg about Jonathan all along. He may not hacve lived up to expectations but for the first time, the federal government is showing interest in the SE. The SE has never had it this good. Let's give him all our support and hope he does more.. Abi o Mazi Afam. I am an ardent critic of GEJ and his co-horts but as for Stella Oduah-Ogiemwonyi, the babe try. Infact she has tried more than all those former Aviation ministers carrying blokos up and down for nothing. Gradually even GEJ is proving to be a half-decent smooth operator, confounding many blind critics. He may not have a competent PR machine or a graceful and alluring wife like late Maryam IBB or Stella OBJ but he's gradually making his mark. Were he from any of the born-to-rule zones of Naija, people would gradually start complimenting him by now. I think many are scared stiff of another "an inconsequential minority" occupying Aso Rock till 2019. The pattern of GEJ critics are now clearly along ethnic and religious lines, nothing to do with competence. The loudest are those who have ruled for some 49 years and got us into this mess in the first place. |
adaobi123: Lool of course not.Omalincha Nwam, how's Mazi Afam? ![]() Where is the wedding taking place this fall? Is it Mbaise side? ![]() Ada dear how's your holiday going? I hope fine. |
sexkillzisacunt: How come a Warri girl bears a Yoruba name? Any explanation? Many people in Edo/Delta bear Yoruba names. Don't forget these are neighbours to SW, there was quite some mixing over the millennia. Delta State also has Itshekiri tribe (perhaps 20% or more of Delta population) with large Yoruba and Edo (royal family and nobility) influences. Some even consider them a Yoruboid subgroup. The acclaimed Nollywood actor RMD is from there. The Traditional ruler of Warri is called Olu of Warri. Unlike in homogeneous Yorubaland where migrants from Edo/Delta became fully yorubanised beyond recognition, migrants from SW have mostly retained much Yoruba culture in what is a rather heterogeneous environment. |

Babalegba: Nigeria is a cancerous growth spreading over africa and the rest of the world. If the Gambians are not careful their country will become irretrievably corrupt just like Nigeria where enemies of God masquerades as Christians and muslims.. Don't be silly. Nigerian lawyers and judges have served many African countries meritoriously for many decades: Botswana, Lesotho and many others. Even some caribbean countries. Former Gambian Justice Minister was involved too. Not an excuse but shows that the Gambian was already old in the game too. Many other Africans try to pretend that they are whiter than white when we all know that corruption is one of africa's biggest problems. Let them send all the lawyers back both good and bad. We need them to decongest prisons and speed up justice |

Oh elsewhere our own Naija babe Blessing Okagbare is running herself into the record books. So no be only bad news dey. |
Lord have mercy |
I think men worldwide are jealous of Nigerian men's success with their women. Our fellow Africans admit privately that Naija guys marry foreign women a lot, with a hint of envy. |
21-25.. we rule the world..
. Yes, the unemployment world you mean. |
Odunharry: who be ds 1,dat y we 9gerians nid do what is d ryt thing... Well we have failed in 52 years. Only a mad man does same thing and expects a different result. We have to sit down and dispassionately analyse where we want to be and how to get there. I witnessed the corruption and collapse of the 2nd republic (Shagari govt)and I guess you didn't. I was dreaming like you too. I witnessed a once excellent education system collapse that I travelled abroad to study. |
Odunharry: who be ds 1,dat y we 9gerians nid do what is d ryt thing... well we have failed in 52 years. Only a mad man does same thing and expects something different. |
Odunharry: Arise O compatriot..Unity and peace? In Naija? muhhehehehehe. Ol, boy fight for Oodua Republic. |
nenergy: Hmmm, NIGERIA MUST SUCCEED O! I used to believe that my personal success wasn't dependent on the success of Nigeria. But the tanker explosion at Ajah (Lagos) this morning, woke me up from my delusion. The scene was like something from the movie 2012. People running helter-skelter, traders abandoning their wares and a massive bellow of fire raising to the sky. For 15 minutes my life was disrupted. I forgot about work, my book project and even the plans i have for my July salary. When calm return and my life began to piece itself together, i thought to myself; "If i'm to have peace, Nigeria must have peace. If i'm to succeed, Nigeria must succeed." I pray, may the peace of God reign in Nigeria. May those who have sworn to trouble Nigeria be troubled till they abandon their devilish campaign. May God guide our leaders right and help them lead us to the promise land. Amen! Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria.Black man and sentiments. Your grand parents and parents prayed the same prayer and you too have started. What's on ground now that make you think things will be better in 30 years? Is it the recent cradle-robbing Act by senators? Wake up dude. Until we separate and different tribes go apart (for Nigeria is a tribalist place) no hope. Those who want to live in the 6th century with religious laws can do so, those who want modernity can also do so. Wake up dude. |

dabrake: I'm telling you sister.Lol. Reason I stopped supporting Arsenal in the mid-90s. They lost UEFA cup to Zaragoza. |
Egba girl: Most times I do but there are times when I'm lost in my own world that it doesn't really hit me that there's an elderly person standing and I should get up for them. But I def try to whenever I can.. Though not in NAIJA (I don't use public transport when visiting) I do for different people. The very young, very old, preggy, physically challenged etc. Lots of the youth are a disgrace. They just sit there chatting and don't give a monkey's. |
hmmm oga, price |
Afam4eva: Nigerians are always looking for any reason to hate. Hate is the biggest industry right now. Even bigger than the oil and gas industry.. I don't know who the little girl called Igho is but I agree with you on this hate thinz. But I still vehemently disagree on you taking Adaobi Nwam, omalincha Nwam, to Aba Ngwa! Afam my mehn how you dey? |
What's only worth any news here is that the breakdown would be messy. If only the elite were selfless enough to bring about an orderly seperation. I blame the British for not doing the India/Pakistan thing in Naija at independence. In 1966 Britain & USA also prevented "araba" by the North. Reason: they wanted to keep using their perceived less savvy/less smart core Northerners to control Southern Naija resources. Some people have become too indolent to think of life without "oyel" money. |
MUSIWA where are you? Is it MUSIWATU that's keeping you busy? Come and draw the maps of the new "Nigerian countries". Ikorodu as new capital of the new Benin Republic incorporating Oodua and Edo State and current Benin R! |
hmmm |
Anybody above 32 or so should not be surprised. Certainly not those above 40 who did recent history in primary/secondary school. I said some days ago here that all the ingredients that led to 1966 coup are here again. 1984 coup was not really thought likely after 4 years of democracy. A coup is more likely now than anytime since 1999. In a tribalistic country the S W and North are not happy with minority presidency. That makes it even more dangerous than 1966. Any coup would be the biggest set back since Biafra war. But everybody should be careful. Nigeria may not survive such an intervention as a single entity. |
