This question doesn't go well with me, the military are suppose to be there when there is a protest, whether it is peaceful or not.
By the way, Lagos govt said there will be curfew that day and the protesters violated, more reasons why the army should be there and deal with law breakers, we don't practice anarchy and every patriot must obey govt orders.
The only thing I blamed the military was the way they dealt with the protesters, shooting at them is totally wrong, classless and tasteless.
The youths were suppose to stay at home and come out the next day but they thought because Rivers disobeyed and nothing happened, they almighty Lagos should also disobey. This is a case of obedience is better than sacrifice.
The ruggedity in porthacourt is on a different level from Lagos, though Lagos could have more touts but pH/ND boys thinks they are warlord and can fight the govt, Wike knows this an had to calm things, Sanwo Olu or whoever controlled the army didn't calculate very well.

In summary, the question is not why the army was there but why did they shoot at them
Well that's your opinion but let me educate you a little.

This is democracy, the military have absolutely no business in a peaceful demonstration. We have the Civil defence, the police and then the DSS, those are the ones that should have been deployed to the protest arena and they are to handle things with utmost civility.

Lagos State government stated that the curfew is to start by 9PM, while the shooting of unarmed protesters started at 7PM, so technically the people shot are yet to violate the curfew.

Also even if they violated the curfew, is the punishment for curfew violation shooting? Shouldnt they have been arrested and prosecuted instead of shooting? Please stop patronising the foolishness of government.

The government and the military goofed of this. Trust me in some months to come, the international community will dully respond to this.

Thank goodness you guys have reframed from using Lekki massacre to Lekki shooting.

First step to get to the bottom of the issues
What is the military doing in an ongoing peaceful protest where there are amless civilians?

Do you really know there's a rule of engagement and do you understand what it entails?

Why should they even shoot in a well coordinated orderly protest?

Are we in military regime or democracy?

Shamless online miscreants are brain dead to even ask this pertinent question. That was why Sanwolu was fidgeting while CNN Christine Amanpour was asking him questions because those people are not as dumb as the ediots they pay.

The first question is WHAT IS THE MILITARY DOING IN A PEACEFUL PROTEST GROUND?
Politics › Re: Fact Check On Rumours Of President Buhari's Replacememt By An Impostor by Macphenson:
Ok

Overtime this issue has been a subject of debate and concern. I remember sometime last year I travelled to see my family in the east and we were having this debate. Here is what I told them.

First of all we all agreed something is wrong in ASO ROCK, but can't point out exactly what it is because no concrete evidence like DNA and other forensic analysis.

I remember telling them that for Donald Trump to have met with Buhari in white House proves that he is the one, and Trump's lifeless being statement also proves Buhari is terribly sick. If it is not the real Buhari, he won't be given clearance by the WHITE HOUSE to see POTUS. even if Trump wants to do it on his own, CIA, FBI and other intelligence agencies in America won't allow him to do that.

Secondly, Buhari attending the UNITED NATIONS GENERAL ASSEMBLY and addressing the world leaders also affirms he is the one. For those who can remember, when he got to the assembly, his security details were kept aside and a woman was assigned to be his detail althrough the time of the assembly.

If he is the impostor "JUBRIN" some world leaders ( the likes of PUTIN) won't seat down and be listening to an impostor "JUBRIN" addressing them in the United Nations Assembly, they won't tolerate such nonsense which is even a big security risk for them as terrorist can explore that option and cause serious destruction.

Please be guided, I totally agree that something is wrong in ASO ROCK but nobody can prove it now with hard core evidences.

What I think is, probably Buhari is alive and terribly sick but there is also a "JUBRIN" whom they use as a double to attend to some state functions. I remember seeing a picture where "BUHARI" was putting on a face mask and the face mask bent his ear, obviously proving that it's a rubber ear and not a human ear.

The shooting in ASO ROCK also affirms that Buhari has totally lost control.

Believe you me, if Buhari was dead, the likes of Obasanjo, SARAKI , DINO MELAYE etc would have long voiced it out loud and clear to the Nation as they are not in the good books of the President and the Presidency. Even Tinubu will play the political game so that Osibanjo will take over which has always been his dream.

The Yoruba elites would have voiced it more than Even Nnamdi Kanu so that power will automatically return to South West .

I remember telling my uncle that NNAMDI KANU was hasty in making that statement public, he would have waited a little and see if there's a way he would gather some hard core forensic evidences to buttress his point. His saying it then only made them to up their game, and tighten every loose end.

The protest was going on peacefully until the evil government came out with their devilish plan.

First they started dropped thugs at different locations to attack the peaceful protesters, when that did not work, they resorted to shooting and killing peaceful, armless protesters.

First the cameras were removed, then the lights were switched off, and later gunshots were heard.

The military in their characteristic nature, took away the dead bodies , and even combed the hospitals to see if there is any remaining evidences of dead people.

Then an army spokes person went on air to ignorantly say a video showing the military shooting armless protesters was "photoshopped". He doesn't even understand what Photoshop is all about.

They released their online miscreants and urchins to twist the narratives.

But am happy the international community is not as stupid as our leaders.

Even Sanwolu couldn't stand the pressure from CNN senior correspond Christine Amanpour.

Now he has admitted there was indeed a shooting ordered by the Nigerian military.

The international community will definitely respond to this genocide in due time.

Interesting times ahead.

It evidently clear that youths of the South Eastern extraction of Nigeria are a part of the problems we have in this country, even though I will not support the destruction of lives and properties, but it shocks to the marrow to see that there hasn't been any form of violence against the political class who have looted their common wealth since time immemorial, there have been no agitation to show this few that enough is enough, Imo and Abia are the most backward states in Nigeria in terms of intra structural development, nobody is asking any question how Umahi is able to transform Ebonyi state and these other two that happens to be a part of Niger Delta accruing more revenue still remain impoverished, Nnamdi Kanu have turned the youths into toothless bulldogs in the name of IPOB, only a bunch of noise makers and propagandists that have earned them hate instead of solidarity, now the name IPOB have handicapped the youths that they can't come out as youths to demand justice and fairness without been tagged IPOB.. hmmm too bad... Orji Uzo kalu, T.A Orji, Abaribe, Rochas, Supreme court, Ohakim, Ararume, Tony Chukwu et all... Eastern youths will arise for you and the time is near, if only the youth will arise

It's really unfortunate.

For those peddling the evil narrative that Igbos want to destroy Lagos, I hope it is Igbos that are also destroying Osun state now.

This is very wrong. This is pure criminality and was not the essence of the protest.

Please government should ensure the security of lives and properties.
