TravelRe: Xenophobia: View Of A Nigerian Living In SA by madejibo(op): 6:12am On Apr 16, 2015
redcliff:
I am glad you said this is your point of view. However, i was about to make some statements about it until i started reading the later end of your story which also confirmed the class at which you are telling the story from. You can say all these thing but the truth be told that these attacked were specigically targeted at black forigners and Nigeria as we all know would make its larger percentage.

In as much as this is your truth, i do not doubt it. Lets go a little lower to people who do not have the oppirtunity of having white collar jobs and going to school. The hustlers and the street roamers, the below average foreigners. They are the ones directly affected by this. Until we hear their own part of the story, then and only then can we conclude that SAcans are not xenophobic as the world think they are.
Sir, to be honest SA society does not permit foreigners to "hustle". A lot of south africans are unskilled and therefor look for the hustling jobs. I don't think it is fair for a Nigerian or any other Nationality to go to sa and compete with their citizen. BTW the law in SA does not permit a foreigner to remain in SA if you don't have some skills which they call scarce skill or exceptional skills, so if you are living there without such skills you are either an asylum seeker or illegal.
Another set of people allowed to live in SA are business owners an by law your business must worth R5m. They have laws, we must respect their laws
TravelXenophobia: View Of A Nigerian Living In SA by madejibo(op): 4:59am On Apr 16, 2015
My view on the Xenophobia attacks and the South African people. I will give a honest view as a Nigerian living in south Africa. Please note that this is entirely my view.
Let me first of all correct the notion that South Africans hate Nigerians, this is false, very wrong but I will get back to this.
The recent Xenophobia attacks started when allegedly the King of Zulu (alleged because I was not there) said the people should not wait for politicians before they chase out illegal immigrants back to their countries. This prompted locals of Kwazulu Natal to start looting foreign owned shops, in the process a South African woman was killed by a foreigner and this escalated the Xenophobia attacks.
These attacks were mainly in townships, which forced about 700 foreigners out of these affected areas. The South African government provided make shift accommodation for them.
Most foreigners that live in this townships are mostly foreigners that are on refugee status. In SA, we have a lot of these asylum seekers. It pains me personally when I see Nigerians going through harsh conditions to claim asylum. In the process of claiming this status, Nigerians lie and tarnish the image of Nigeria and a lot of South Africans know that these Nigerians are lying but they still approve their requests.
Back to the xenophobia attacks, most of these attacks are carried out by miscreants, who are in the minority and Nigerians are really not affected because you hardly find Nigerians living in the townships. Myself and my wife weren't even aware that it was serious until we started getting calls from Nigeria.
It escalated into the Central Business District of Kwazulu Natal (Durban) but in a swift response, the South African Police Service (SAPS) curbed the spread. In Durban's CBD, shops owned by South Africans too were targeted. There was apprehension that it was going to escalate to Johannesburg, yesterday, so a lot of shops in the CBD of Johannesburg were closed.
The president, Jacob Zuma has condemned it, South Africans on the streets have condemned it, more security agents have been deployed to the streets and peace seems to have been restored. Foreigners have been guaranteed safety by the SA government.
I said before that South Africans do not hate foreigners, actually they are warm people and I will give you reasons. I have schooled in SA, my wife too schooled in SA, a lot of scholarships and funding are giving to foreigners. How many African countries can do this? I have seen Nigerians going to the best schools in SA, from undergraduate level through to PHD level who enjoy absolutely free education, when I say absolutely free I mean it. This will include free accommodation and feeding. In some cases, some collect stipends.
A lot of Nigerians too abuse the hospitality and am so ashamed to say it. I won't even go into the dirty things which Nigerians do. I have been in a situation before that my wife suddenly took ill in the middle of the night and we rushed to a hospital, we got first class attention in a government hospital and it was free.
Yes, there are cases that as a Nigerian you feel that you are a foreigner, but seriously it is not anybody's fault. If you are an educated Nigerian and you schooled in SA, you are respected. If you have a white collar job, you are respected. A lot of Nigerians are Doctors, Lecturers, Engineers in SA. If Nigeria is right a lot of South African businesses want to move into Nigeria.
Also, a lot of Nigerians have married South Africans and you will see the spouses of the Nigerians ready to imbibe the Nigerian culture. This marriage issue, a lot of Nigerians too have abused it, Nigerians with wives at home have come to SA to marry for the sake of papers, some just marry for papers and a lot of South Africans are aware. The South Africans love our musicians and movies. The most popular station in SA (outside SABC) is African Magic because of. Nollywood.
In conclusion, have not heard of any Nigerian that was attacked in these recent clashes and I want to use this opportunity to thank those that contacted us to ask after our safety. We are fine!
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by madejibo: 8:20pm On Apr 14, 2015
samtol4:
@Yemi .....You can never convert Asylum to PR.NEVER! .Most Asylum given to Nigerians are just temporily slip to show they have applied it is not the refugee passport that is why many can't leave SA because if they do ,Visa will be needed to enter .if it was possible all Nigerians with Assylum here would ve gotten PR. Two weeks ago I was discussing with a guy he has spent 12years in SA I asked him how he got PR .he said he is using Asylum for 12years he can't convert to Pr .he will convert to work/study first before applying for PR.The asylum most Nigerians have are just slip that is y dey keep going for renewal ,if you have refugee passport u can apply for PR but with slip ...,,,never ! I was laughing within me when you mention that your target is to get PR,just like dat !Sir ....the easiest route to any country of the world is STUDY PERMIT .Both of you should get study permit (2years to 3years visa depending on program)before the expiring of the two years you figure out what u want to do .You mention Jobs? There are no jobs for SA citizens talkless of foreigners unless you are science oriented, medical professional ,IT or u have skills to genate your money .
God bless you my brother, Nigerians with no aim are the ones that come into SA and seek refugee, its so sad and this kills the dreams of people with bettter value. The guy has not even got a visa he is thinking of asylum. Asylum are for people that are not safe in their country or the country is at war, yet some Nigerians will come and claim this status, sad, spoiling the image of Nigeria in the process
PoliticsI Regret Ever Supporting Koro by madejibo(op): 7:29pm On Feb 12, 2015
Late 2006, I remembered my friend, Femilangy, who is now in the US introducing me to Nairaland. The singular reason of the introduction was for me to come and support the bid of Musiliu Obanikoro, who was running for governor of Lagos State, under the PDP. I was a staunch supporter of Koro, I believed so much in him, I wanted him as governor, maybe for personal reasons but mainly because I wanted Tinubu out (it was Fashola that was the governorship candidate of the then Action Congress, AC)

(link to the Nairaland topic: https://www.nairaland.com/36656/rule-lagos-come-may-2007/7#965858)

Today, I regret ever knowing such a man but am happy Fashola won landslide in the elections of 2007. Koro went on to be appointed as Nigerian Ambassador to Ghana and in all honesty he did well (my opinion). Then, he was appointed minister of state, Defence by the most corrupt President in Nigerian history, President Goodluck Jonathan in 2014.

From this point, Koro lost it, he became an election rigger, with the latest audio tape released by Sahara Reporters last week, and it became crystal clear that Koro was just an election rigger. The tape was about Koro, Fayose, Omisore, Uba and some military men planning how to rig Ekiti elections. Having met Koro on several occasions, I am 100% certain that the voice of Koro in that tape is actually real. Even I was woken up from sleep and I hear Koro’s voice I will know it.

That said, Koro will be very stupid to sue Sahara Reporters, Premium Times and Punch Newspapers when it is so obvious Koro was in that recording. It is shameful and disgraceful for some in Koro’s calibre to become a tool in the hands of corrupt men like Fayose and GEJ. In that recording he sounded like an errand boy or better put a house boy.

GEJ has killed so many politicians and government agencies in the quest of holding on to power. He is desperate to remain in power and he uses the likes of Koro and in so doing killing him politically.

PoliticsThe Band Wagon Effects Of A Failed PDP Government by madejibo(op): 8:17am On Dec 30, 2014
About 70% failed WAEC in 2014. I was trying to tell a friend that this shows that the government has failed but his view was that our young ones have become very unserious.
We fail to see that the failure of our government (especially since when the PDP took over in 1999) has degenerated so many things directly and indirectly.
When I was growing up the economy of the country Nigeria was not this bad, my parents had time to look at my home work and made sure they were up to date with my progress in school, this made me and my peers do well in school. In those days a man and a wife could live a comfortable life being civil servants. Today, it is not so, there is no job security, parents double up their jobs with other businesses just to try and make ends meet and most of the time the ends never meet.
Parents spend long hours at work and traffic neglecting their kids in the hands of teachers that can't even read an affidavit (just like the teacher in Edo), population between now and the eighties has exploded but infrastructure have remained the same (in most cases, worse) but our income as a country has increased.
The band wagon effects are more students failing exams, broken homes, high crime rates, disrespecting Nigerians abroad and so on.
We have degenerated to a country that have no national carrier because of the PDP, we lose four hundred thousand barrels of oil everyday through oil bunkering and this has led to oil companies to reduce their stake in Nigeria, because they can not cope. Also under the PDP, we can not refine our oil again and this makes me laugh. It is like my father has a farm of yam, sells it to my neighbour and I go to my neighbours house to buy pounded yam, this is so ridiculous.
Six months after Yar'dua died, our subsidy money rose from 200 Billion Naira to 1.7 trillion Naira, some governors kicked against it and Jonathan promised to block the leakage, two months later it rose to 1.9 trillion Naira. This was in 2011, up to date no one has been convicted in connection to this.
The former CBN governor (the government's banker) said $20 Billion was missing, our president fired him, the Minister of Finance hired an auditing firm to audit this claim but the government has refused to release the report
We are now a country that can not equip our soldiers legitimately, we now have to use a pastor's jet to ferry money illegally to South Africa to buy arms for our military.
All these got worse under the PDP led government. After all these failures, some people still feel we don't need a change that the other party isn't better but in my opinion I feel only a fool will want something that has continuously failed for 15/16 years when there is an alternative (even though the alternative is still "untested").
The first step to change is voting out PDP, this might not necessarily mean the solution, but it is better to take this gamble than to deliberately continue to support the disaster being caused by PDP

PoliticsRe: The Federal Government Of Nigeria Says It Has Reached A Ceasefire Deal With BH by madejibo: 7:24am On Oct 18, 2014
Ngwakwe:
This is what Gen Buhari would have achieved for his beloved country had he accepted to mediate on Bokoharam behalf in Saudi Arabia when they nominated him.

We have lost unaccountable innocent Nigerians and properties worth billions of dollars including the defence budget wasted in the fight against these monsters, only for the selfish Buhari to borrow money to contest for president of a country he refused to sacrifice a little for its citizens.

Say no to Buhari, he is too selfish.
Who told you that if Buhari had accepted the offer an agreement would have been reached? It was probably a ploy to rubbish his peronality further. They would have held the meetind and more violence would have occurred and people like you would have come out to rubbish Buhari. The ex general knows better than to be tricked into arrangy. The time was not right then for a ceasefire deal, we all know the plan now, FG is the main force behind Boko Haram, all these ceasefire arrangy is all because of elections and GEJ's 2nd term, when SA foiled their Arms deal, they had to resort to this. Anyway, am glad that violence will reduce. I thought they said no girl was kidnapped at Chibok in the first place, so who are the girls that are going to be freed now?

My Arik Ordeal (2)
First email, sent 3rd of Feb, 2014 to Arik via callcentreteam@arikair.com <callcentreteam@arikair.com>; zacustomerservices@arikairint.com <zacustomerservices@arikairint.com>; callcentreteam@arikair.com <callcentreteam@arikair.com>; Francis Okafor <Francis.Okafor@ArikAir.com>;
I boarded an Arik Air plane from O R Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg on the 21st of January, 2014. We the passengers had finished boarding by 9:15 am for a flight that should take off for 9:35am. As at 10 am the plane was still on ground, a voice then announced to us that the flight is being delayed due to paper work that had to be completed by Arik Air.
Finally the plane was ready to take off at 10:45 am over an hour of delay, we took off and the flight was smooth all the way till we landed in Lagos.
I was supposed to depart Lagos back to Johannesburg on Saturday 25th January, 2014. I got to Murtala Mohammed International Airport as early as 6:30 pm for a 10:40 pm flight. I got to Arik Air’s check-in counter and I saw the most disorganized queue ever. It was very rowdy. Everyone travelling via Arik Air (no matter the international route) was on the same queue. Passengers were paying Arik Air’s staff to jump the queue. The higher you pay the faster you are checked in.
It got to my turn and the Arik Security staff profiling passengers said my visa/permit was not valid for my trip. I was confused because I got my visa from The Department of Home Affairs, Pretoria via their Cape Town office. I wondered what was wrong; I was told to see another security Manager, Kingsley (who was off-duty) for further clarification. Kingsley told me that I will have to be off-loaded from the flight and I should go and apply for another entry visa to South Africa.
Meanwhile, as this was going on I noticed the security personnel of Arik Air were asking for all manner of documents from South Africa bound passengers such as admission letters, marriage certificates and so on. Once the passenger cannot provide any of the documents asked he/she is refused check-in or pay a minimum of Ten Thousand Naira and the passenger is allowed to check-in.
On Monday, 27th January, 2014, I went to the South African High Commission, Lagos; I was told there that my visa/Permit was good enough to travel that my Airline should be able to carry me that if they refuse to carry me they should issue me with a letter (called referral notice) that will query my Visa. So, with this information I proceeded to the Ikoyi office of Arik Air, I was advised by the manager in Ikoyi, that my case can only be handle by profilers of Arik Air located at Murtala Mohammed International Airport.
I left Ikoyi for the Airport, I met the Duty Manager (the same Kingsley) who told me Arik does not issue such letters, that I should just go and get another visa. I insisted I need a proof from Arik Air that I was denied check-in but Kingsley told me and I quote “if you don’t take your time I will get your name blacklisted and render all the visas you have useless”. At this point I had to leave the airport. The manager in Arik Air’s back office came out and she called me all manner of names. One of the staff said and I quote “only God knows where he got his visa”. I was made a laughing stock by Arik Air’s staff at the Airport that Monday afternoon.
On Tuesday 28th of January, 2014, my brother in-law in Johannesburg took a scanned copy of my visa page to the immigration office at O R Tambo airport in Johannesburg and he reliably gathered that my visa was valid. A call was put through to Arik Office in Sandton and my brother in-law informed me to go see Mr. Francis Okafor, the chief security officer of Arik Air. I went to see him and he asked for the receipt I used to apply for my visa in Cape Town, I provided it and he made copies of my visa and the receipt. He then gave me his card and wrote on his card “profiler, please allow pax to board, he has been cleared”.
I went with this card to the airport, first to Arik Air’s Ticketing office but was told no free seat till Saturday 1st of February, 2014. I was told to secure a seat on Saturday I will have to pay Twelve Thousand Naira. Thursday (30th January, 2014) morning I called Arik Air and I was informed there are seats available for that day’s flight to Johannesburg. I was told to get a seat on that flight I will have to pay Thirty One Thousand Naira, I paid because I needed to be in Cape Town South Africa as early as possible.
I went to the airport and I was checked-in easily and boarded the plane, at a few minutes to midnight our flight took off (almost an hour late). The flight was smooth and we arrived in Johannesburg smoothly and I went through immigration at O R Tambo International Airport and NOT one question on my visa. I was cleared by immigration within few seconds.
Let me digress a little, on the 20th of January 2014, I came into Johannesburg from Cape Town via a Mango Airline flight and I had a return ticket for Sunday, 26th January 2014. But because of the delay by Arik Air, I lost my return ticket. So, on Friday when I arrived I could not revalidate my ticket neither could I buy a new one because all seats to Cape Town (in all airlines) have been sold out till Monday. The only other option was to buy a bus ticket to Cape Town. I bought the bus ticket and I had to travel for 21 hours to Cape Town.

I sent the same Email on the 5th of February, 2014 as a reminder but still did not get a response

Later on that day I got a response from Arik Air via Anna Marie Muscardin <AnnaMarie.Muscardin@arikairint.com>;

Dear Mr Akinsete ,

I am really distressed to read such a letter .
This letter has been escalated to the Senior Vice President of Arik Air.
In the meantime while we wait for his reply please accept my apologies for all this inconvenience.
Best Regards
Anna-Marie
I did not get a reply from Arik Air for over two months so on the 8th of April, 2014 I sent a reminder to Arik (I resent my first Email) and copied editor@thisdaylive.com <editor@thisdaylive.com>; info@channelstv.com <info@channelstv.com>; letters@ngrguardiannews.com <letters@ngrguardiannews.com>; dr.damages@gmail.com <dr.damages@gmail.com>;

April 9th, 2014 I finally got a reply from Arik Via their Chief Security Officer Francis Okafor <Francis.Okafor@ArikAir.com>;
Dear Jibola,
Am surprise that you have to write such publication against arik air, because the very day you were denied boarding, you never showed the Profilers your complete document, the Visa you had was hand written with the Inscription to continue Visit, being that you have used the visa, any Profiler will like to get proof of obtaining such hand written visa from south Africa when you only traveled with a 3months expired visitor’s visa.
I will like to state here that we have incurred thousands of Rand fine for flying in passengers with fraudulent document, so if you are asked to go and get clearance from the Embassy, I don’t think it is a bad idea, we have had a lot of fraudulent documents trying to fly with Arik air into JNB, but am so disappointed the way you are taking this matter.
I was at the airport the very first day you were denied boarding and no body, I mean no body collected money from any passenger to facilitate their checking in. if you have any proof, please feel free to bring it to my notice and see if the staff will remain in arik air for one extra day.
We have two checking in point for JFK and JNB, You know fully the MMIA airport facility and its problem, you can’t blame that on Arik air.
Going back to your grievance on documentation, I did asked you if you presented the receipt and application form you used in obtaining the visa, you said know and you apologized for not presenting the documents and I can also remember telling you that if you had shown the documents, nobody would have stopped you from travelling.
I cleared you to travel base on the documents you presented at a very late stage when I did requested same from you.
In as much we want to give our dear guest(passengers) the best service, we also wants to prevent fraudulent passengers with fraudulent documents from flying our air craft for safety, Security and economic reasons.

We appreciate your love for Arik Air and I will like to assure you that we will continue to give you best, reliable and safe service.

And I replied him same day copying other Arik’s Emails
I am so shocked and bewildered to read this mail, absolutely surprised. Do i have to carry receipts I used to apply for a visa? if i didnt have the receipts I would not have flown? I have never seen a permit issued at the DHA in Pretoria that is not hand written. Even, with this delay Arik made me pay extra N43,000 to be able to fly on another day. The visa clearly stated multiple entries, what else did you need? No one at the airport asked for further documents. I was treated like a common fraudster, talked to anyhow like i was worthless. Your security man, Kingsley talked to me like i was a piece of trash, your duty manger told me to go to hell, LORD HAVE MERCY!
is this how you treat a paying customer? I was cleared at OR Tambo when I arrived Johannesburg within seconds, no query at all. This is so so sad.

Dear Arik customer care,
You replied my mail on the 9th of April, 2014 (about 26 days ago) and you promised to get back to me but up to date i have not got any respons from any one in Arik. Does it take over a month to look into cases at Arik? Honestly i do not understand the reason for the delay. In your mail you quoted this reference numberLOSCMPAPTEML427.
Hoping to hear from you soon,

On May 13, 2014, I got yet another response from Arik via Arik Air Customer Relations
Dear Mr. Akinsete Ajibola,

I must begin by apologizing for how long it has taken to give you a feedback as regards your complaint.

We regret to learn about your experience on 25th January 2014 while attempting to check-in for Arik Air Flight W3 103 operating Lagos-Johannesburg.

However as promised in our earlier correspondence and as is customary with us, we carried out an extensive investigation regarding your claim and also what transpired on the said date, our findings (which include documented security reports and the station day’s report) revealed that on 25th January 2014 while being profiled by our security agents, you presented a handwritten visa ,hence you were requested to get clearance from the South African Embassy.

We understand how devastating this must have been for you especially since you were eventually cleared , however this request was made as there have been several issues with the South African Immigrations bringing back Nigerians for not having the right documents/entry requirements. At Arik Air we try as much as possible to avoid such occurrence by ensuring our esteemed guest have their correct documents. Hence we regret all inconveniences caused.

Please be assured that Arik Air value’s her customers and aim’s to render excellent customer service to our clients at all times, conversely you would agree with us that the rules have to be obeyed for safety and security reasons and every of our esteemed guest have a role in ensuring this.

Finally we thank you for bringing your concern to our notice and for giving us an opportunity to clarify this case.

Warm regards

I replied same day
Good Afternoon,
This mail is coming well over one month, I just wonder how long it takes for Arik to respond to its supposed “esteemed” customers.
Back to the events of the 25th of January, 2014 I was never told that my visa was going to be investigated. I was told “point blank” that my visa was not valid for the trip. I was also told in order for me to go back to South Africa I will need to get ANOTHER entry visa.
It took the effort of my brother inlaw (not Arik) in Johannesburg to run around and get my visa verified. I was only allowed to travel after we got a nod from the Department of Home Affairs in SA.
Even, after I was cleared I paid Forty Two Thousand Naira to change my Ticket on the same Arik to change my dates. I bought a new connecting flight tickets to Cape Town. Who should bear these costs? The customer?
Let me state here again and categorically, I was called a fraud by your staff Kingsley on the 27th of January, 2014 he went ahead to threaten me that I will never be able to travel again if I am not careful. What arrogance? How is it my business if you can not verify a visa without your customer missing his or her flight? Is it the normal practice for the customer to bear the cost of such investigation? This is sickening, very sickening.
I DEMAND a refund of my Forty Two Thousand Naira (my change of ticket fee) and My One Thousand Two Hundred ZAR (my connecting flight ticket to Cape Town )

Akinsete Ajibola

Then same day too, Mr Francis Okafor replied

Dear Jibola,
You were not allowed to fly after getting the nod from the home affair.
I cleared you to travel when you presented a document you used in obtaining the extension visa which you did not do at the initial time.
I was the one that asked for the documents if you have them and you said yes and I queried that if you had shown the documents, you will not be stopped from flying and you apologised for not doing so.
Regards.

I replied Mr Francis same day
Mr Francis,
I will advise you to stop replying emails, because you have a poor customer relations, you should just stick to your security duties
First on the 25th of. January, 2014, you were at the airport you never asked me for the receipts and I was denied boarding that day. I don’t want to flog the issue of receipts because I don’t understand why a passenger with a valid visa should carry a receipt he or she used to apply for a visa.
Back to the issue I paid 42,000 Naira for my ticket to be re-issued, should I have incurred that cost? Should I have incurred the cost for the my Cape Town return flight (R1,200)?
I demand a refund of these expenses, Thank You

This was the last time I heard from Arik Air

eleven: I understand your position...it's a cache 22 situation, your site needs to generate funds so as to sustain itself, at the same time the site needs traffic to promote it and make it more popular which is quicker through free subscription.

One possible way out of it in my opinion is through voluntary contribution as I mentioned earlier. If I get a better suggestion later I will let you know.

Meanwhile how do I subscribe using online transfer?
He provided a pay portal on his site or send him recharge card. Both can't work for me cos I live outside naija.

Not that I can't do it but there is no encouragement in sponsoring the site after spending many hours daily to write with Nokia, edit, read again, transfer to another phone. Copy, paste, and make sure I did all this on a given time because someone out there is waiting to read.

This is stressful. I have never seen any writer who maintained the same system for a continuous 15 months without break.
Show me the writer.

Ask the house mates on our whatsapp group. They see me online at every hour of the night, just because I want my fans to have something to read the next day.

Every Nairaland member suddenly saw the potential of Global Runs making it big because I closed it down for subscription.

I know how the fans feel, trust me I do. But the stress is telling on me.
I decided to live alone since last year just to be able to write.
These are sacrifices I have been making.

If the amount I charged is much, give me suggestions..I will listen and consider, I m no machine.

But for the issue of opening up free, I need a perfect reason to do that.

I intend to pay Maria who has been telling me her story since December.
I promised her that.
I haven't even started writing her story.

I have a long way to go..I m even looking at 5 years because each passing day is a story of its own..

But to wait for advertisers is a no.
If anybody can get Global Runs a sponsor, I will open it.
Oga Zuby, I feel you, but you asking for subscription makes you look cheap. The truth about making money from blogs is a long term project, the truth is you haven't invested enough to attract sponsors, yes I will tell you the truth. You shouldn't rely on our 500 naira to get a laptop, by now you should have got a laptop, that's investment. Its a pity you are still typing from your phone. Imagine what you would have achieved if you had a laptop by now, you would by now written so much and pull more traffic. If you feel the stress is much for my brother quit, but asking for 500 is so cheap and myopic.

I no fit laugh abeg, Mr Zuby I would have loved to subscribe just to copy and paste for others but unfortunatey I don't live in Naija and I can not risk putting my ATM pin on an untrusted Naija portal, NEVER. Let me also quickly go and unlike your page on Facebook because you did not pay me to like your page on Facebook, all those that have liked Globalruns page on Facebook demand money from Zuby or unlike it sharply. Even foriegners I have encouraged them to read your blogs some of them are laughing at me now saying "Nigerians love money so much" its a shame you make Nigerians laugh at us.

ZUBY77: Please Runners.

This is the hardest decision i have taken so far.

Not easy on me too but I realised I am not going to write forever.

I have five or six more seasons to write, which could take two years.

I want globalruns.com to start sustaining itself.

You don't necessarily have to use your card.
Shame on Zubby, you want to use us to make money like u made money for your madames, I live in Cape Town, come to SA and make we capture some Edo prostitutes on Long Street and we will use them to make money instead of collecting 500 naira from people. Oya come

This Zuby guy funny o, am supposed to pay with my Mastercard or visa to read your site. Put my pin on a Naija pay portal because I want to read fiction, who charges for a blog, who? Linda Ikeji charges up to 1m at times for adverts now imagine if she was charging people at the initial stage? Will she be this big? It is sad. A good blog trends and make money via traffic not 500 naira. NIGERIA

Have said it before Arik is a disaster about to happen. Most airlines that crash have similar issues, the signs are all there. Nigerians have been warned. Airline is not something you can ignore and just manage because a single mistake is a big disaster unlike other industries. Forget about their so called new planes, the management of Arik cut a lot of corners, this will ultimately lead to planes falling off the skies. I have warned you guys o

I sent the same Email on the 5th of February, 2014 as a reminder but still did not get a response

Later on that day I got a response from Arik Air via Anna Marie Muscardin <AnnaMarie.Muscardin@arikairint.com>;

Dear Mr Akinsete ,

I am really distressed to read such a letter .
This letter has been escalated to the Senior Vice President of Arik Air.
In the meantime while we wait for his reply please accept my apologies for all this inconvenience.

I did not get a reply from Arik Air for over two months so on the 8th of April, 2014 I sent a reminder to Arik (I resent my first Email) and copied editor@thisdaylive.com <editor@thisdaylive.com>; info@channelstv.com <info@channelstv.com>; letters@ngrguardiannews.com <letters@ngrguardiannews.com>; dr.damages@gmail.com <dr.damages@gmail.com>;

April 9th, 2014 I finally got a reply from Arik Via their Chief Security Officer Francis Okafor <Francis.Okafor@ArikAir.com>;

B.Rgds.

BusinessMy Ordeal With Arik Air by madejibo(op): 10:23am On Jul 30, 2014
I had initially opened open this trend on the 3rd of February 2014 but I think due to the problems Nairaland experienced some weeks ago it disappeared. I have vowed that as long as I live I will get justice from Arik, I have not been in Nigeria since January but I am on the verge of getting a permission from Cape Town International airport to stand at the airport and share flyers that will campaign against passengers flying on Arik planes. This will be carried out Sat. 30th August, 2014. This I will also be perform during my trip to New York November. Arik can not continue to cheat us.
for those that did not read the story here is the story so far:

Mekusnwa: I doubt this news. But even if it's true, Maku and Stella Odua deserve another political position for a good job well done as Ministers.
Stella Odua will go down in the annals of our history as the best Aviation Minister ever.

Under her tenure, the Aviation sector witnessed tremendous transformation starting with the remodelling of 10 major Airports and the upgrade of Airport Infrastructure across the nation.
Maku, on the other hand, has expanded the frontiers of public information management through his good governance tour.
He has really worked hard against all odds to execute the tour which is an eye opener into the workings of governance in many states.

I wish them well

4. you also said you go to THE LEGAL DEPT and control dept AT GTB HEAD OFFICE, that is rubbish, you don't need that. thy don't know you. it is your branch manager that know you and responsible to sort the matter out within a week.

5. if within a week, the manager cannot sort it out, then you write to the MD at the Head office (through the customer care (if they have), and give the copy of all your correspondence with the branch manager to the MD at head office for investigation and establish the truth.

6. if after 1 week, no response, you write reminding letter, and wait again for a week.

7. If all these failed to address your cry, then you write t the CBN consumer protection department at abuja, to resubmit your complaints for investigation and back it up with all the copies of letters you ve written to the branch managers and head office and copy of their responses if theres any. submit all these to CBN.

8. CBN will study if in 1 week and call them to order, and as well get back to you.

9. my brother, your problem will be solve in 2 week and you can even claim damages for the incovineince they make you to pass through.

10, by these above argument, you ve exausted all avenue from the branch manager to the Head office and finally to the CBN.

mr. man, you do need any court or lawyer, CBN consumer protection is established to sort out all customer problems in two weeks and withoput partial. and whatever judgement they pass, no commercial banks they born well not to implement immediately.

finally, many of us allow ourself to be cheated because will did not pay attention to 'formal communication', any of your communication to your bank must be formal and direct to the BANK MANAGER. ANYTHING NOT IN WRITTEN not forman and it can be denied.

now, since your problem started, you never once write to the branch manager? then you ve not make any complaints, you only succeeded waisting your time all these while.

sorry
oga who told you I never wrote the Branch Manager?

I have actually gone through your account and I can categorically tell you what happened. You use your Master card online most probably on a dating site and they keep deducting money from your account every month for membership subscription. For you to opt-out of it, kindly called GT Bank customer care and tell them to block your card from a certain merchant that is deducting your money for subscription monthly. I hope you got the point?
