lancaster: 1st you said they told you its LOAN you took. Then later its now an OVER-PAYMENT!Mr Lancaster, initially in march 2012, Modupe a staff of gtbank said it was a loan of 49k, then when my savings was blocked she said after thorough investigation they discovered it was an over payment, they also claim the 49k had accrued debit interests to a tune of 221k over the years between may 2007 to 2012 February, what I meant by transpire is that a lot of meetings, arguments have occurred between me and bank staff over this that it it ll be to lengthy for me to start writing nothing hidden at all |
infogenius: I agree that you get a corporate lawyer. Many of these bankers are not professionals.I was in one of their branches in Kaduna some time ago and an officer there could not even tell me the meaning of IBAN.thank you, I also believed my bank account was fraudulently used by a staff, but why are they hiding the staf? Or why can't they just give me proofs |

i.:in my statement it is there that 60k was withdrawn via ATM in 2007, but I have requested for the teller I used to pay in the said 10,200 which was wrongly posted to 102,000 also the footage of the withdrawal at the ATM, but they have refused me this, the bank can easily doctor a bank statement no one should work with a bank's bank statement. |

fm7070: You made a mistake of running the account after you've been informed that you're owing them.sir, I was so sure I didn't take any form of loan, have written CBN, house of reps, no response. I operated my account to tunes of millions cos between 2010 and 2012. If I was a runaway debtor will I operate an account there? I have applied for a job in the bank, will I do dat if I am a thief. Just a failed system |
Sometimes in March 2012, I got a call on my phone, the caller said she was Modupe from Loan recovery Unit, GT bank, Allen Avenue Branch. I was initially startled. I asked what the problem was and she said I am owing the bank 221,000 naira as at February 2012. I was so surprised because I have never taken a loan from the bank. Luckily I was around Allen Avenue at the time and I drove straight to the branch and met the said Modupe woman who turned out to be my account officer (a woman who I have met before in that same branch and I can categorically say she is the most unfriendly banker have ever met, a trait in all GTB staff). We chatted and she told me I took a loan from the bank in 2007, a loan of 49,000 naira. I initially laughed because it was funny to me. 1st, since 2007 no one from the bank has called me on this invisible "loan". Secondly I have never taken a loan before from GTB or any other financial institution in Nigeria. As a former banker myself I know loans are not taken in proxy. I told her that to please investigate further that there is a mix up somewhere. She gave me a look like "onigbese" go and pay your money. I went and I kept on using my savings account, depositing and withdrawing as usual, even my domiciliary account I used it normally. Let me say something here, from 2007 till 2010 I stopped using GTB, I stopped using it because of their poor services, another reason is because I was working in another bank so all my transactions were routed through the bank I worked for easy monitoring. But when I left my bank I reactivated my accounts with Gtb and I kept on using both my savings and domiciliary any time there is need for it. GTB debited my account twice for one MasterCard, a card I never requested for and I went to complain to this same Modupe in 2010 (my first meeting with her) she just told me to close the account and gave me a don't disturb me look. Note also because of this MasterCard issue I wrote their head office I got calls of apology and no one told me of my proxy loans. Back to the main story, I kept on calling Modupe how far with her investigation and she kept on telling me "I will get back to you". Then Saturday, May 26th I tried using my ATM card to withdraw and money didnt come out, I thought it was a card problem so I left it till Monday. When I got to the bank I was about to request for a new card in the same Allen Avenue branch and the babe said I can't that I have to see Modupe. I proceeded to see her and she explained that in May 2007 the teller in Ikoyi branch mistakenly posted into my account the sum of 102,000 naira instead of 10,200 naira and I withdrew via ATM the sum of 60,000 before they could find out the mistake. Let me state categorically here I can't even remember paying any money into my account that period. I was furious, a colleague of Modupe told me to shut up and go and pay the money that I was a thief. A fat tall guy in Allen Avenue, I was so annoyed and proceeded to the head office and it took the help of security men to calm me down. While in the head office I met Osemota, a lawyer in their legal department and I wrote a complaint letter, this was may, 28th 2012. A week later I also proceeded to the internal control unit of the bank in Adeniyi Jones, I met Mr Yakubu and I wrote that I need proofs of those transactions in 2007. Till date all the tell me I should go and pay my proxy debt. I have written series of letters to the bank since then, I met with my new account officer Stella, in February 2013 and in her words she said "oga go and pay your gbese nothing I can do, we can't give u proofs". I also met Shola, the new man at Adeniyi Jones, he took over from Yakubu, and he too can't give proofs. It is also worthy to note that between 2007 and May 2012 I never got debit interest alerts on my phone nor my email, but since May 2012 I have been getting debit interests alerts. A lot of things too have transpired between us but I can't put all into writing now, as we talk GT bank has refused to give me my money they sat on in my savings and domiciliary accounts till I pay off my proxy loan. What a bank, What a country! |

tpia@:Sir those big brother images you saw they were not kissing, I saw those scenes on tv |
pekelepekele: She is married and she is still kissing prezzo publicly ? will she enter hell fire? God abeg oothink very well have you ever seen her kissing Prezzo? |
Omexonomy: Tunde bakare is one person that that does not want to go away from the mind of the public. I believe he should be ignored. Instead of given him cheap publicity.why should he be ignored? He says the truth always irrespective of his political affiliation. What we should pray for is more people like him. When he spoke up about the Yaradua cabal in 2010 why didn't we ignore him? Nigerians aren't ready for change |
uboma: I am in no way encouraging their service failure (because i was and still is a victim) but what cant be changed atleast for now must be endured. Why not wait till the stipulated 24hrs elapses. The problem lies sorely with our govt. They have failed to put measures in place to ensure effective delivery from our service providers. Just last year, the govt of Ghana had to ban MTN from further selling their sim cards due to poor service delivery. Why expand your customer base when you can not even service the current customer base? With all the poor services we keep getting from the communication companies here in Nigeria, what has our govt done? People have complained and still complaining but has any thing changed for the better? The list goes on and on here in Nigeria.it is because you and I have believed that the system can't change. If we all do something now it shall ant it will change |
Let me give an illustration Dstv has been programmed that if u pay on the first of November it goes off on the first of December i.e 30days so in a particular February I paid on the 2nd and it went off on the 2nd of march (february was 28 days that year)I asked them why? Prior to this I have found out if you pay 10k for a month your payment is broken down to 333 naira a day. Back to my story, they told me it is automatic I refused to buy the idea and till today I always get my 30days complete because I spoke out |
uboma: i have just one question for u, was the transaction of 20k later reversed? I have encountered similar problems in the past and it was rectified. There is no basis to compare Nigeria with South Africa because South Africa is ahead of Nigeria technologically.sir, it hasn't been reversed cos it's still less than 24hours. If we know that we can't handle these technology why deploy them? Why cause customers heart aches? Now a transaction of 2mins is taking over a day have lost the opportunity I wanted to take wasted petrol, time and energy just over 20k, now who pays for these? In Nigeria it is always the customer, because we never talk believe me if u and I including everybody that this happen to believe that system will change but believe me we accept our fate to easily |
Thought I should share this: late 2011 I was telling my brother in South Africa (fellow African country that just got free from apartheid just about 20years ago) that back in Nigeria our ATM still debits our account without the machine dispensing cash. He looked at me like I was speaking Greek or Latin. He couldn't understand because in SA where he lives NOTHING like that has ever happened (at least to his knowledge) Back home in naija it is a daily occurrence thing, some say it is normal and a lot of us accept such crap (permit me to use bullshit). I used a Skye Bank ATM with my Access Bank card and I noticed that I got a message displayed on the machine saying "user or switch not available". I tried checking my balance I got the same message. I got driving towards the nearest Access bank since it was still within banking hours so I can probably get money across the counter. Few minutes before I got to the bank I got an SMS on my cell phone that I have a debit of 20,000 naira from the "unsuccessful" transaction. I got to the bank my money was really deducted and I complained and the customer service officer said it will reverse within 24hours that it was due to network, this same network that I couldn't check my account balance but can debit my account, I also thought why hasn't this "bad" network ever given me a credit when there is no credit transaction? Well back to my story, I told the CSO that I am not buying the idea of the 24hours crap, I wanted my money and I insisted. I started causing a scene which some customers laughed at me and others supported me. At this time more staff of the bank came to meet me and told me "there is nothing they can do" it will have to take a minimum of 24hrs to resolve. I called Access Bank's Head Office on phone I was told the same thin. To my point, what kind of system do we have that the bank always cheat customers? This system is only thriving because you and I don't speak out or complain. If this does not happen in a place like South Africa why does it happen here? Simple, because we have allowed it as a people. Access Bank to me is a fraudulent bank, in 2011 when they fraudulently acquired Intercontinental Bank through the likes of Sanusi, Access bank was on an operating software called FLEXCUBE version 6.1 with less than 100 branches, intercontinental bank on the other hand had an operating software FLEXCUBE version 6.6 with over 300 branches. Now during the acquisition process it was only normal for Access bank to at least upgrade to version 6.6 to ease banking operations, but the executive board of Access Bank didn't approve the upgrade because it would have cost them money and rather they downgraded Intercontinental's 6.6 version to 6.1 of Access bank. This didn't cost much or probably nothing. Now with about 400 branches after the acquisition and a lower version of FLEXCUBE for operations definitely service failure was/is inevitable. This is one of the reasons why you get things like ATM debiting our accounts without the customer receiving cash and the sell to us that "network" is bad. All these service providers know the solution but are not bothered because you and I don't talk and accept crap. Some staff too are oblivious of the problem and tell the customers what the owners of the business have programmed into their head. We need to talk and demand for good services it is our RIGHT. |
In Yoruba this means Iya laya Obasanjo ko Le gba Eko ni owo ACN. They can all go to hell for all I care |
andyanders: Very bad comment. How will you wish your mother to be kidnapped? Do not wish others what you don't wish yourself.do you think her daughter, Ngozi wishes 150 million Nigerians well? Noooo |
odum desmond: I heard him say exactly those words and even more. He has said it times without number that he has never begged for anything since he became a MOG. He obviously has interest in so many thriving businesses, remember he is a prolific writer whose books sells in millions of copies. I heard him also talk about the private jets. He said that he has become blessed so much that he could afford jet at a click of fingers. How he bought them, how he maintains it, the Church does not know, no dime of church fund goes to his upkeep and maintenance.hmmm, a prolific writer that can afford 4 private jets? Am sure pple like Michael Chricton, Achebe by now should be able to buy the whole fleet of BA. A lot of people have come and said they gave towards the Convenant University project, it was called Convenant University seed. Let's not be too foolish to believe everything. He really needs to explain his source of his wealth, I guess EFCC ought to be interested in cases like this to ask questions |
goldbearer: do you have 3 tolls within a 49.4km road? in any country, Texas man please reply.is there any road in Irwin that costs as much as 1billion naira equvailent per kilometre.Lekki ajah road is 49.4km cost 50billion Naira plus other benefits for the investors.the distance between the first and the second toll gate is roughly a distance of 10km |
madejibo: bros or sis the truth is that lekki Epe expressway has always been there you don't add just an extra lane to a road that was built by tax payers money in the 80s an start collecting money from people. What a reasonable govt should do is to build a separate road if possible and toll that not an existing road.mr man let Fashola or Tinubu go and build another road and toll not a road that has been there for over 25 years go and check the distance between the first and second toll gate just a distance of 10km. Really bad |
ypzilanti: FG should build world class freeways across the nation and toll whatever they friggin want. Just to coordinate Lagos-Ibadan expressway concession, na wahala. Such incompetent buffoons.bros or sis the truth is that lekki Epe expressway has always been there you don't add just an extra lane to a road that was built by tax payers money in the 80s an start collecting money from people. What a reasonable govt should do is to build a separate road if possible and toll that not an existing road. |
A very rough estimate of how much tinubu and co are making on the lekki tollgates please i invite critcs to my little calculation!: 2 toll gates ; 2(tollgates) X 2 (directions) X 8 (booths)X10 (cars every minute, very low estimate!)X 60 (minutes) X 18 (hours, even though they collect tolls 24 hours but lets for arguments sake say 18 hours)X 120 (naira)=N41,472 ,000 DAILY Only a wicked Governor and a satanically criminally corrupt govt will add one lane to an existing road and put 2 tollgates within 10 mins of themselsves and charge an average of N120 per car EVERYTIME you pass any of the tollgates, and only an even MORE wicked governor will use tear gas and armed policemen to disperse the people when the come out to voice their disapproval |
akpomeme: This Iron Lady just turned 52 today. Love her or Hate her. Drop a word and wish her something. I personally wish her long life and good health. May God grant her strenght and wisdom to chart a new cause for the Petroleum Industry.sorry sir I don't wih her well, that's the truth because she does not wish millions of Nigerians well with her actions |

I stay in this area, yesterday police men numbering about 30 came into our small street and carried away motor cycles belonging to Hausa security men that were parked in front of their houses. Please note that my area is not part of the places that govt banned Okada. They arrested the Mallam selling provisions on my street broke open our second gate of the street and arrested the young man that holds the key. They noticed I was trying to take photographs and they ordered my arrest. I refused to be arrested because I knew I had done nothing wrong. I was beaten up for this but I stood my ground. After a while I was told to go. These police men were led by one Mr. Odumosu. They came in 5 pick up vans, 4 power bikes, wore bullet proof vests, machine guns, war helmets. I have since petitioned Lagos state ministry of justice as I was told at the RRS office that it was Governor Fashola that gave them the order. THIS NONSENSE MUST STOP |
Duduconfirm: sorry about that. i think you should try the reader's page of popular newspapers like punch, you can reach them online.I will be on radio on Friday, that odumosun guy must go down, this is the height of lawlessness. |

The wife of the president was received at the Abuja Airport today after about six weeks in a German hospital by a large crowd. Ministers, PS, job seekers, cultural troops, etc were all @ the airport to welcome her. I wonder why the large turn out for a woman that her husband and his party can't provide medical care for her in Nigeria. With this kind of turn out these heartless people will feel they are doing a great job. Millions of Naira meant for a lot of ordinary Nigerians was spent on the medicall bill of this woman. Finally in her words she will like to thank all Nigerians for supporting her in her "trial period" |
