The balance is 49k, they stopped you from withrawing from the account, can't they just remove the 49k, how did it get and interest of 221k?

infogenius: I agree that you get a corporate lawyer.Many of these bankers are not professionals.I was in one of their branches in Kaduna some time ago and an officer there could not even tell me the meaning of IBAN.
This type of problems is not new.A customer of mine,an elderly man that worked with NNPC before he retired 2yrs had an account where he just made deposits as a form of saving and did not touch it for close 7yrs.Only for him to go to the bank one day and told that his account balance was about N150k instead of close to N19m.

The man was later told that the money was used offload a loan he collected.The man no slack at all.
At the end of the day the officer who stole the money had left the bank some yrs ago,but was discovered and fished out in his new place of work and currently he is still paying the gbese.

Listen to me,someone there has used your account to move money and honestly if you keep quiet other customers will suffer too.

Many bankers today are looking for money to steal instead of doing their jobs.
Please take them to court and unveil the thief and make plenty money joor.

i can give you a phone number of a Deputy Director in banking supervision department of CBN if you are interested, send your email address. Am really surprised this is happening in GTB.

if you reported the matter to the cbn, follow-up from there. furthermore i think the bank should print your statements as well as provide you wuth the teller of that particular transaction(blue copy or scanned copy), if they fail take them to court for breach of bankers customers relationship(sue yakubu, shola, stella and especially modupe).
there is a standard but gtb falls short here.

fm7070: You made a mistake of running the account after you've been informed that you're owing them.
It is possible that you're truly owing them, but they should have given you a proof.
You can either report them to CBN or go to court, by then, they will pay through their anus if you're right.

uboma: I am in no way encouraging their service failure (because i was and still is a victim) but what cant be changed atleast for now must be endured. Why not wait till the stipulated 24hrs elapses. The problem lies sorely with our govt. They have failed to put measures in place to ensure effective delivery from our service providers. Just last year, the govt of Ghana had to ban MTN from further selling their sim cards due to poor service delivery. Why expand your customer base when you can not even service the current customer base? With all the poor services we keep getting from the communication companies here in Nigeria, what has our govt done? People have complained and still complaining but has any thing changed for the better? The list goes on and on here in Nigeria.

Otedolla argued from the beginning that he wasn't involved in PMS. He said Farouk didn't listen and still went on to list him with other companies. So he decided to go with a sting operation. Farouk did prove Otedolla right because he listed him, then delisted him using the same reason Otedolla put forward in the first place.

Otedolla cannot be prosecuted for giving bribe except Farouk can prove there wasn't any sting operation. But from the facts available, a sting was arranged because there is audio and video evidence. You don't record video except you are doing a sting. Security agencies can arrange with persons to expose a suspect. The argument that farouk should have been arrested on the spot is funny. If you feel the suspect is not the big catch and want to make a really big catch, you allow the suspect go. Its very normal in stings. The argument that you must recover the money before you can prosecute is also funny. Video evidence is enough to mail Farouk. But I believe the security agencies are looking for a bigger catch and that is why the house members are jittery.

Every case has its merit. You cannot pronounce Otedolla guilty because of your past perception of him. As far as this case is concerned so far, he is looking like a hero.
