Yeah. I like it almost as much as The Mentalist. I don't get it. You have lacklustre stuff like One Tree Hill and Legend of the Seeker strutting about uncancelled. This is smart and original.Why cancel this one?

You have every right to feel that way. The uncle is diverting funds? This is why I insisted  on the mother's bank account, and why having donations collected paid directly to the hospital sounded good. When it comes to money, lots of people mess up. He didn't know the name of the hospital in india when I asked. How did he come by the amount for the surgery then? I get what you mean about people giving you reason to doubt, and preferring to deal directly with the hospitals. Money brings out the worst in people.Are you confirming that you'll take up the boy's case? That would be so good. Donations will simply be made out to the hospital as suggested, and we'll know the actual costs involved.

If this is your area of expertise perhaps your organisation should consider facilitating the boy's treatment in Nigeria while we raise money and pay directly to the hospital as suggested. Kuramo's been kind enough to furnish a list of specialists. I asked the boy's Uncle the name of the hospital in India where he's to get the surgery and he didn't know. Going to India might be boy's doctor's idea. If the boy can be treated here, all the better.

I believe he should seek a second expert opinion from other maxillofacial surgeons in Lagos.  I simply can't see why the procedure to drain and evacuate the infected haematoma or whatever the lesion is should require 10 litres of fresh frozen plasma.

The procedure to correct this problem can be done  at LUTH or at the National hospital in Abuja by any competent maxillofacial surgeon and i see no reason why he has to go as far as India to achieve this.

Would you consider calling the mother and discussing this with her? If you're a doc, perhaps you've colleagues at the teaching hospital in Enugu who might take things in hand? The family will only do as they're told by medics; they might not even know what a second opinion is.One really doesn't want other people profiting by this family's ignorance or their pain. If you're a doctor it would be great if you could give them some advice, you know?
