That figures: A mediocre like GEJ is being defended to the death by a militant criminal. Does Dokubo really believe he is helping GEJ's case with this kind of crooked argument? |
Exactly how much power does this "invitation" carry? Is EFCC obligated to honour this invitation? The EFCC and relevant agencies should please carry out their constitutional responsibility of bringing all these crooks to justice. Na today you sabi say corruption dey PPPRA. Nonsense. |
In that case, come back with some good news when he'd dead. Until then, shut up! ![]() |
What do you really expect from Maku? He is the mouthpiece of the govt. He can't be preaching a different gospel from the govt's. It's just not possible. Whenever Goodluck has any crap to say, he puts it in Maku's mouth, who in turn disperses it to Nigerians. That's how it works. |
Iolo:So, without corpers we can't have credible elections? Seriously? Also, rather than investing in qualified personnel, our governments and educationists should continue using corpers in schools abi? What makes a corper qualified to teach anybody anything? Because he has a degree/diploma from a higher institution? Please govt should allow graduates to pursue their career rather than imprison them for one year. |
Scrap it, by all means! NYSC has become a means whereby: - Influential people lobby for, and get preferential postings for their siblings, girlfriends and relatives thereby negating the purpose of the scheme. - Nigerian youths are sent to their untimely deaths in the name of secterian crisis. - Graduates are shipped off to teach in classrooms( whatever for? what makes a corper a good teacher?) - A young graduate's life and career are unnecessarily put on hold for one whole year. |
@freecocoa Nne, i ji kwa iwe! |
kizito96:Who tell you dat one? Boko Haram dey record videos just like Al-Qaeda. Dem sabi internet pass you. |
mhosky:Correct talk! |
Leave Jonathan alone pls. He couldn't attend because he was busy on facebook. ![]() |
I dunno the cheaper tariff and I don't care. I do know that MTN's reduced tariffs never come with no strings attached. For reasons best known to them, MTN has a tariff culture of giving one part with the right hand and taking three parts back with the left hand. There is no unconditional love from MTN. |
Another oddity: why does every Bayelsan seem to be in support of subsidy removal? The NASS members from Bayelsa support it, Bayelsa youth leaders support it, regular Bayelsans on the street support it. Even Bayelsa chapter of NLC refused to protest on the streets, citing "security concerns" in the state. Those concerns did not however prevent women and youth groups in the state from praising GEJ & demonstrating their support for subsidy removal - on the same streets. I really want to know what the people of Bayelsa stand to gain by being tribalistic on this matter of subsidy removal. This trend lends credence to the argument that Nigeria is far from a united entity. In the same Bayelsa, former governor Diepreye Alamieyeseigha siphoned billions out of the country and was arrested in London for money laundering. The moment he was granted bail he jumped bail and sneaked back into the country by disguising as a woman! I refuse to believe that Bayelsans have forgotten all this so soon. Yet Alamieyeseigha is today considered a godfather in Bayelsa politics; anytime he calls a rally, a multitude of people always attends. Streets and monuments are even named after him in Bayelsa state! Why bother impeaching him if they were going to glorify the animal afterwards? Where is your honour, o people of Bayelsa? Why una too dey support bad tin? |
I do not quite understand this strange urgency govt suddenly feels for removing subsidy so abruptly. 1. Was it on 31st Dec 2011 that GEJ realized that subsidy was draining Nigeria? 2. If GEJ could not forsee the so-called danger in perpetuating subsidy from the start, is he qualified to rule us in spite of this short-sightedness? 3. While campaigning he promised to provide good roads, better healthcare, security - the very things he now wants to provide with subsidy funds. Why didn't he tells us he planned on achieving these goals with subsidy money? 4. Is GEJ categorically telling us he cannot run Nigeria without removing subsidy? 5. We have been living with fuel subsidy for years before now. Why is govt trying so hard to make us believe we would all die tomorrow morning unless subsidy is totally removed now? 6. Why did GEJ ambush Nigerians into subsidy removal in such a sneaky manner? And yet expect us to trust him afterwards? Would you trust someone who just ambushed you? 7. Why is FG begging for our trust rather than earning it? |
Ultimately, we are probably better off without subsidy. The method of implementation however is very important. I suggest it is removed in stages over a period of time. Meanwhile the govt should first of all show good faith by providing amenities such as stable power supply and a robust, modern rail transport system. Then Nigerians would have little need for the petrol anyway. |
Damn you, Jona. Why haven't you started these negotiations before now? Yeye phucker! |
sexlog:Come, why d chick no Poo. b4 coming for meeting na? ![]() |
islamrules:With the right resources, patience and perseverance, these guys can be tracked and caught. BH does not need to buy guns or bulletproof vests; they have been stealing them from the police stations they've been raiding. Based on what is on that video, I think we should stop restricting ourselves to the theory that BH is politically inspired/sponsored. This is a guy who clearly harbors a deep-seated hatred for Christians and secular government. He does not need any politician to encourage him, that much is clear. Al Qaeda carried out their operations with little or no political support. The main weapon of a terrorist is hate, not bombs, not AK47's. As long as there is someone with a passionate hateful grudge, you have a potential terrorist and he is willing to risk his life fuelling this hate with revenge, whether he has access to arms or not. What our security agencies need to do is some real investigation. Gather and process intel with seriousness. They should ask for help for goodness' sake. Seek assistance from countries with experience in these things - it doesn't take a genius to know that. |
Approved. Impeach Jonathan immediately before Nigeria descends into chaos. Let's get someone who knows how to manage crises. |
jedisco:On the contrary, jedisco, the protests are gaining momentum. Series of protesters are marching past my street as I write this - sorry to disappoint you. Several proTests are still being held across the country. And, of what importance are Jonathan's balls in this matter? Remember that you are a leader only for as long as the people allow it. If and when you cease to be useful they will throw you out, balls or no. It is probabaly reaching that point for GEJ. |
One more thing, Stepone. I assume that by Nigers, you mean niggers, which is a derogatory word. You of all people should know that. Again my point about making yourself understood. If you cannot use English to communicate clearly then what use is it to you exactly? Why haven't you developed your mother tongue for effective communication? |
@stepone, Again I ask: what conscious effort have you made to "extend our language to the western world" as you have put it? Furthermore, suppose that other cultures decided to "borrow" our local languages for a change. What would words like electromagnetism and inertia translate to in Hausa, Efik or Ijaw? Are our languages robust and enhanced enough to be used even for exclusive teaching in schools? How much effort have you made, stepone, to change this? |
stepone:Dear Stepone, The meaning of the latter part of your post - as emboldened - is lost on me, which proves my point. Your statement lacks clarity and if this were an exam, you'd probably flunk. I'm sure you'll agree that speaking English the way you do doesn't make you rich either; it doesn't even make you a black man! All over the world and with every passing year, English is fast becoming the single most spoken language. What does that tell you? What/how much effort have you made to promote and publicize your beloved mother tongue, besides sitting at home and hating on the "whiteman" and "his English"? If I give you a Yoruba (I'm guessing that's your mother tongue) bible now, I'm betting you can't read it fluently. What you just posted above, can you translate it in your mother tongue completely and correctly without grammatical errors? For someone like you, I doubt it. So, if you are not proficient in English language or your mother tongue, what then are you good at? Think about that and when you discover what it is and you can do it in a unique way that exceptionally affects mankind and changes the course of history, then maybe the world will be persuaded to learn and adopt your mother tongue on a global scale. Until then, keep learning and improving on your English because, yes, people have become rich through knowing and speaking English properly. |
For me, I wish people would make more effort to speak and write English better. As for those who hide under the English-is-not-my-mother-tongue ruse, well, my question is: how well do you know your mother tongue in this day and age of mixed marriages and urbanized populations? You will find that those who think little of speaking and/or writing correct English are not so proficient in speaking or writing their so-called mother tongue either. This kind of attitude is the reason many students fail WAEC English every year. And please, what is the meaning of "gbagauns" and "ibons"? |
GEJ do your time and LEAVE. You are no different than the losers before you. You are not an inspirition to anyone with an ounce of intellect. Now I am convinced I didn't make a mistake in not voting for your sorry a.s.s. |
Again this goes to show that coming from a poor background doesn't necessarily make you prudent. It certainly doesn't guarantee simple, God-given common sense. |
You ain't exactly a sloution-provider either. Just serve your term and gtfo. |
This is hardly surprising. |
I think there's too much unnecessary fuss about MTN's tariffs on this thread. You shouldn't expend a lot of energy complaining about MTN. Not when there are several alternatives out there. The irony is that most of the people complaining DO have MTN lines, so why are they still using those lines? Don't get me wrong - I'm not defending MTN - but it is a matter of personal choice which network(s) you decide to use. When it comes to total service quality, other networks over time have not performed much better than MTN either. Every one of them is defficient in one way or another in total service quality and product offering. Take for instance Airtel says they give 20 free SMS monthly with their 20k/s call plan, yet they always charge for texts I send; why? Those other smaller networks(visafone, starcomms, etc) can't even compare because they don't have robust value added services. In today's telecomms market you can't survive without value added services. MTN's internet service is about the most reliable among all the networks. Again, I'm not supporting MTN, but overall the other networks aren't doing or offering much better services. What we need to advocate for is all-round better services and cheaper call rates from network operators rather than attacking MTN. Even at Airtel's 20k/s Nigerians still pay among the highest phone tariffs in the world; that has got to stop. Think about it: if MTN were really worse than other networks they wouldn't still be in business would they? The best way to attack MTN is to totally boycott their services - how many people can realistically do that? In any case MTN is a rip-off because NCC has allowed it. |
i guess nigerians are safe since na china fone we dey use. you can't lose both ways. ![]() |
bboiabb:E.O.D.! |
serves him right. for starters, GEJ - if he wants to have any semblance of a democratic image - should not be seen around someone who is making himself into a life ruler. |
