FashionRe: Is Anyone Else Sick Of Hair Attachements In Our Black Ladies? by madprof(m): 6:39pm On May 15, 2011
i think that women are too obsessed with hair (real or fake). they spend so much time and money making hair which they don't wash for weeks. all the grease and grime in the hair make it itch and stink.
most of the fake hair they wear don't even look that good, so why wear it?

Today 2 face has earned my respect. It takes a man to admit his wrong doing. its easy to togue lash him cause many have never tasted fame or succes like he has.its really not easy ignoring beautiful women when they come after you,it will take the grace of God. As for condoms if you use condoms your not having sex, thats self-service with the rubber, cause there is really no contact between the organs its just our imagination that runs wild.but in reality you are just having sex with a piece of rubber.abstainance is still the ultimate wait till you get married thats the best time to have intimacy.not when it will wound you.
What?! I think you are loco. Did you see any woman forcing herself on Tuface maybe at gunpoint? And no, admitting wrongdoing does not necessarily make you a man, especially when you do not particularly show any remorse or commitment to change. Tuface is a Hot, reckless toad with no self-control, period. If that is what it takes to earn your respect then I guess you have really low standards.

TV/MoviesRe: Nollywood Need To Study filmmaking and production by madprof(m): 6:23pm On Oct 26, 2010
semid4lyfe:
Too many people on this thread with "silly" blanket comments like:

Nollywood films are wack and so I don't watch them

Do people still watch Nollywood films? I stopped watching their films since primary school

Nothing bores me more than a Nollywood movie

The movie buffs know where I stand on Nollywood. Nollywood and I don't mix

Hmmm. . .I'm wondering if not watching Nollywood movies is now a status symbol & an "elitist" thing and shows how cool one is? huh

I guess those who watch Nollywood films are the "razz" and local people.

Like I always say majority of the films are bad but there are still some (a few) good ones. One just has to dig thru' the heap to get these ones.

There are some directors/producers & production houses who churn out decent/v. good movies. . . I'm wondering if Tunde Kelani/Mainframe Production, Tade Ogidan, Jetta Amata, Kingsley Ogoro are not part of Nollywood? huh

Y'all need to upgrade your taste in Nollywood movies grin
Oga,
what does it say about an industry if you have to "dig through the heap" to see a good movie (if there is any, which I seriously doubt)? Some people who have taste are simply tired of being fed endless garbage in the name of movies. These are people who are real entertainment critics, they are not just watching because they want to be entertained with mediocrity.
The directors you have named above are probably not much better than the rest, otherwise everyone would've heard of them.

Cheers.
Nairaland GeneralRe: Grammatical Blunders Made By Mrs. Jonathan by madprof(m): 1:46pm On Oct 19, 2010
English being 1st, 2nd or last language is no excuse not to speak it properly, especially for a public figure. It is simply unacceptable and reflects us in poor light.
Come to think of it, when was the last time Nigeria had an educated first lady, a woman with finesse and a graceful carriage? And yes, a real education?!
Experience has shown that our first ladies (at all levels) need grooming. They are generally an embarassment.

strangest:
Why is it that a lot of Nigerians like you, like to form OYIBO, too much, its okay for America to use “wanna” instead of “want to”, the French can call Paris, Paree, Oyibo football commentator,” Kainuuuu wan-kwo, instead of Kanu Nwankwo, . Instead of you to be correcting Oyibo, you are here fooling yourself

people should always remember that the English colonised us does not mean that we are English, We are still NAIJA,
strangest,
Yours is an excuse that is so common it has become a cliche. If you dislike the English language, why do you still use it to communicate? What has colonization got to do with speaking correctly? How many oyibos have corrected you for poor grammar? Will contempt for the English language improve our poor performance in WEAC/NECO/JAMB?
Get your priorities right!
Music/RadioRe: Modenine Accuses Nairaland Of Destructive Criticisms by madprof(m): 1:00pm On Oct 15, 2010
mr modenine,
The internet is a wide-open gateway that gives people access to you in many ways, I'm sure you know that. I'm also sure you want to be as "big" as you can be and so you should know that fame/popularity comes at a price. Even Mother Theresa must've had haters (and she never asked for fans, unlike you!) so critics and (destructive) criticism are things you just have to deal with if you intend to remain an entertainer that is worth anything. You can keep blocking and they will keep attacking you with different twitter/facebook accounts so why bother?
You also need to grow up and learn how to address issues professionally as an entertainer. With the way you're going I'm not sure you can handle a simple press conference and how does that help the image and brand you say you're trying to promote?

hmmm drum up business indeed, by getting the current Board to sack 400 workers in 9ja, so they can get in place to drum up the business!

i think u mis-read my quotes
the pre-requisite i mentioned had to do with his quote "Prospective engineering students should be specifically tested for proficiency in the numerate sciences".

and yes to be a world class engineer- software appreciation is a must, we cant shy away from it.
I wonder what you would be saying say 20, 25 years ago - that there were no world class engineers because there was no Auto CAD then? You cannot utilize the full potential of Auto CAD if you do not understand engineering drawing and if you cannot explore Auto CAD for all it's worth then you are really no better than the average joe engineer. I guess your sense of engineering has little appreciation for the academics. Of course I must mention here that I am focusing on civil engineering.

CareerRe: What Does It Take To Be A World-class Engineer? by madprof(m): 4:25am On Oct 13, 2010
1. You do not need software appreciation to be world class. Engineering was invented practically without any software; it was invented and developed through the simple application of Math, Physics and Technical Drawing. All these (as well as world class engineers) existed before the advent of software.
2. The government in conjunction with COREN and NSE should be more supportive of and responsible for trainee engineers. Go to any NYSC camp or secretariat and they will tell you that doctors and pharmacists should serve only in hospitals while engineers - and everyone else - should teach. What world class engineer can you get from that kind of system?
3. Prospective engineering students should be specifically tested for proficiency in the numerate sciences. I don't see how you can be a good engineer if you hate Math and we have quite a number of such engineers.

Until these issues are addressed Nigerian engineers will continue to have a hard time proving themselves professionally.

you cannot claim to be innocent when you wine & dine with a viper like Babangida - you certainly cannot be morally innocent. I think you should just shut up and go back to chasing skirts as you seem to enjoy some measure of success there. Hob-nobbing with IBB cannot seem to pay you dividends. I do not understand what you can possibly want from IBB, but then again this goes to show once more that you are not a role model to our youth.

If you don't like their organisation, then why are you abusing them when they kicked you out? huh The sense on this thread is marvellous, imagine people being corrupt as they want and they're surprised when an organisation doesn't want to see the sight of them associated with their name.

Nigerian mentality is the worst.
Ezeagu, you need to read my comments again.
For starters I did not "abuse" FIFA. I have simply refused to ackowledge the false influence & relevance they have conferred on themselves.  Secondly they did not kick us out - it's losers like you who give a shit that feel kicked out. And where is the logic in what you're saying anyway? You're asking why I'm criticizing FIFA if I don't like their organisation, so are you saying I should praise them if I don't like their actions? huh
