Right now there's a spectrum for what what could happen..

On the one end Russia could invade and something could go horrifically wrong and we end up in a Europe wide NATO - Russia war. That would be disastrous to say the least.

In the middle of the spectrum is full sanctions and Russia becomes and economic pariah state. This however looks unlikely as only Britain and the US seem to see eye to eye in arguing for this outcome..

The major leverage is the Nord Steam 2 pipeline and the gas from Russia that warms most of European homes.
Putin chose a "nice" time to attack. It is winter in Europe and any sanction on Russia's gas will mean frostbite for many Europeans. Hence the likes of Germany and its European allies dependent on Russia's gas will not back any hard sanction.

1. God is not "irrational". This isnt true as you are trying to define God by man's definition of rationality which is impossible. That is why He is God. He will do "irrational" things like consuming Sodom and Gomorrah with fire and hailstones. He will do "irrational" things like watching Stephen get beheaded instead of preserving his life and using him to preach the gospel. He will do "irrational" things like sending His son Jesus to die and turn his face away while he is being whipped and crucified when He can easily stop it.

I can go on and on. You cant limit God into the human constructs of rationality and irrationality, my friend. That is why he is God. You realise that miracles are actually, "irrational"?
