Politics › Re: 2023: Why Amaechi Will Be Apc’s Best Candidate; Thicks All Boxes. by madridsta007(m): 9:50pm On Feb 06, 2022
Penguin2:
I’m not going to bore you with long epistle. I will be concise and straight to the point.

So one of the presidential hopefuls for the 2023 general election is the Honorable Minister of Transport, Rt Hon. Chibuike Romtimi Amaechi (though he has not declared).

Some have speculated he might be Buhari’s secret candidate especially with his recent turbaning by the Daura Emirate.

Now, away from secret candidate and turbaning, let me enumerate for you, why the man Amaechi might be APC’s most suitable candidate for 2023.

1. HE IS A FOUNDATION MEMBER
One of the arguments that some supporters of some certain interest in APC has always used against some presidential aspirants like David Umahi and Orji Uzor Kalu, is that these men are not foundation members of the party but just defected when they saw the party had won power. To them, those men do not qualify to sick APC ticket while some other people that laboured to build the party and financed it will be deprived of it. Well, that argument won’t work on Amaechi because Amaechi was the leader of the 5 PDP governors that joined APC then as New-PDP. Not only did he join the APC, it is believed that he also made a lot of financial commitments and has twice been the Director General of the party’s presidential campaigns. So, whatever stake that any interest in APC claims to have, Amaechi equal has it and that is non-contestible.

2. HE ANSWERS FOR SOUTHSOUTH CLAMOUR TO COMPLETE THEIR TENURE
One of the distant voices that has been heard in the discourse of 2023, has been the fact that the Southsouth part of the country still has 4 years of its presidential tenure to complete since President Jonathan could not win re-election after 4 years of his original tenure. Although , like I said, this clamour may not have been as pronounced as many other clamours, but it has been made regardless and that is what an Amaechi presidency will answer to; since he is from the Southsouth .

3.THE CLAMOUR FOR IGBO PRESIDENCY
As 2023 elections draw closer, one of the loudest and most valid agitation is that of Igbo presidency in general and Nigerian President of southeast extraction in particular. All Nigerians of conscience know that this agitation is valid, and for the continued peaceful coexistence of the Nigerian project, it is imperative that it is addressed. Now, that’s why Amaechi comes in. While somebody like Nyesom Wike has told the world he is not Igbo, Amaechi has consistently insisted that “nobody can deny me of my Igboness”. He has always adorned his traditional Isiagu dress when occasion allows it, in identification with his Igbo culture. Now, while Nigerians are skeptical about handing power over to an Igbo man from the southeast, such fears might not exist for Amaechi. Why?

Because an Igbo man of Southsouth has never gone through the denial, punishment, deprivations and subjugation that has been meted to the Igbo man of southeast. The implication is that the anger level in their hearts are different.

While the Igbo man of southeast might harbour resentment for the Nigerian state with desire for revenge, the Igbo man in southeast is likely not going to harbour resentment in his heart.

So, if the agitation for Igbo presidency is something that must be addressed, but the rest of Nigeria is skeptical about handing power over to a man from Southeast, the closest solution to the impasse is Amaechi.

With Amaechi, all that would have to be done is to conscientize with Ndigbo to settle for “Igbo Presidency” rather than insist on “Nigerian President of Southeast Extraction” and trust me it would sell.

4. AMAECHI IS DETRIBALIZED AND A BRIDGE BUILDER
One of the most reoccurring arguments against most Igbo presidential aspirants is the fact that they are tribal and are not bridge builders. Well, not Amaechi; because I do not think there’s any part of Nigeria that has anything against Amaechi especially when it comes to tolerance for Nigerians of other ethnic groups. What am I even saying, there’s a ‘Rotimi’ in his name, Remember? Dude is even a Yoruba. Lol.

5. AGE
One of the issues in the front burner of the 2023 political discourse is the fact that we need young, agile and capable people to occupy political positions. Yes. Aso Rock should not be converted to retirement home for old men to go and be resting their bones. At 57 years of age, Amaechi fits perfectly into that yardstick.

6. PROVEN RECORD OF ACHIEVEMENTS
An unbiased assessment of the Buhari regime would throw up Rotimi Amaechi as one of, if not, the brightest and most performing ministers in the Buhari government. The transformation happening in the rail sector is visible to all Nigerians. But that’s not all, before he became minister, he was governor of Rivers State for 8 years and if you ask those who witnessed his administration in Rivers, they’d tell you he has been one of the best things to happen to Rivers state. So, aside that fact that an Amaechi presidency will answer to several other agitations and inerests, we are also going to be having a man with proven records of achievements in public service.

7. NO TAINT OF CORRUPTION
“I don’t like money”. That is one of the most popular statements that has been made by Amaechi. While that may have been metaphorical and does not really translate to him being a saint, he seems to not have any case of financial malfeasance to his name so far despite how long he has been in public service. So if APC’s aim is to give Nigerians somebody who is not corrupt, then Amaechi is the man.

I promised it was not gonna be long but it did.

But there you have it. What are you going to add and what are you going to remove?

Penguin is a bird of reason!

Dear Nairalanders,

Sequel to my thread about me investing over 30 million in my wife and she is ungrateful https://www.nairaland.com/6756674/wife-ungrateful.

Yesterday I asked her I wanted to check her phone and she started to delete some email messages and when I asked her to show me as it was still in the thrash yet to be fully deleted she tried to jump off the balcony of the two storey building.

I called my parents as she said she wanted to jump off and commit suicide, she said if I leave the balcony for her to use her phone she would not commit suicide.

We managed to drag her back and then she asked that she wants to be alone in her room and speak to her dad, we allowed her as we knew she was going to delete the email.

Nairalanders please what do you think she is up to please, bear in mind that I also observed she records our conversations when we have issues but that had been settled. I am still in the Marraige but sincerely I am shocked, this her move was really extremely sinister. Please advise me on my next steps, though I have started some already.

If Buhari/Malami/anyone in charge wants to handle Tinubu, it is easy.
Use the Press to go after him by releasing his corruption allegation, week after week through their usual faceless journalists.
Public pressure will build up.
Once it builds up, send EFCC after him.
EFCC applies pressure, the public releases still continues.
Politicians, public officials, academics aligned to Buhari/Malami will begin to release statements, urging that Tinubu reconsiders his Presidential ambitions.
Apply more pressure. Make some arrests and release of Tinubu's associates.
Tinubu will back down.

Rosenews2233:
Pete Edochie To Feature In 'The Pledge', A Prince UC Ingawa Movie (Photos)

A Nigerian patriot and philanthropist, Prince UC Ingawa is about hitting Nigerian entertainment space with a big bang, 'The Pledge' an upcoming movie.

Though he is yet to let the cat out of the bag, he has met with one of Nollywood's finest veteran actors, Pete Edochie.

Our correspondent understands that 'The Pledge' seeks to foster national unity, peaceful coexistence and the spirit of brotherhood.

He had taken to his Instagram page to announce his meeting with Chief Edochie where he tabled the script of the upcoming movie.

The veteran Nollywood star also indicated interest in the project, saying he is in total support of anything that will enhance national unity.

According to the Katsina State born activist and businessman, he has in the past one decade nursed the dream of the project which is expected to entertain and educate the Nigerian masses on the message of oneness.

The youth advocate and patriot who heads Tagwaye Multi Investment Limited (TAMIL) and Tagwaye Twin Communications has been a loud voice in the campaign to one indivisible Nigeria

In the social media post sighted by our correspondent, he wrote, " _Last night alongside the best movie director @tokamcbaror went to brief our father, a Veteran and a renowned Orator @peteedochie of a dream I've nurtured for over 10 years, a project I sleep with and woke up with for over 10 good years, he just went through the synopsis and told me he is very interested in the project, in his words any project that will bring about unity among our people as Nigerians I,'m totally in support of it. This Film will blow your mind, when I say something big is coming to the Cinemas, believe it. For 10 years, I'm assuring you we are fully prepared to give a mindblowing Film. LET'S MAKE HISTORY PEOPLE, watch out! #thepledge_ ".

Unity of the country has in recent times been put to test especially with the amplified secessionist agitation.

Some separatist groups have emerged especially in the South East region of the country demanding a breakaway from Nigeria over what they call marginalization.

It is not in doubt that this movie when released into the Nigerian market would help to douse to agitation that has for long remained at front burner in national discourse.

We all know that US president is one of the most protected world leaders on earth, he travels to wherever he wants with armed security guards from US marines, FBI agents among other special forces.

US air force uses C-17 transport plane to carry the presidential limousine called the beast with several other vehicles to where he's going ahead of his arrival.

The Beast has 8-inch armor plating and five-inch thick bulletproof windows, and Kevlar reinforcement for the giant Goodyear tires that are also run-flat. The cabin is sealed for the outside world for protection against a chemical attack and special foam surrounds the fuel tank in case of an impact.

Do you know any other world leader that travels with such large number of security men?

Romance › Re: I'm Deeply In Love With Him But He's Not Divorced Yet! by madridsta007(m): 11:05pm On Jan 24, 2022
Rita005:
Hi folks! I feel like sharing my predicament with you and hope to get a solution. Please bear with me cuz it's a long read. I'm a 26 years old banker (not contract staff) in one of the south south states.

Recently, I met a beautiful soul and I think I'm getting so fond of him now. We connected after the close of service in church and exchanged contacts. He was kind enough to drop me off my house. This guy is doing very well for himself (lives in a nice estate and owns a good ride).

A short while after our first meeting, we spoke on phone and I didn't know when I asked him why he isn't married. He told me it's a long story and would like to talk about it when we meet one-to-one. Fast forward, we met and he told me all there is about him. He's 34, got married about 2 years ago, but now separated from his wife. The reason he gave for the separation was lack of trust from his wife. According to him, his wife is so insecured to a fault. According to him, the first week he got married was when he started regretting his actions. After their marriage, his wife travelled down home to bring her remaining baggage. Before she returned, he made sure he cleaned the house thoroughly. However, when his wife came back, she headed straight to the fridge (she had made soup and stew before traveling) and the next thing was cry! According to him, he said he was confused at first. it was when he asked her what the problem was that she said he brought a woman to their matrimonial home. He said he cried so much and regretted marrying a woman with a possessed mind.

According to him, all the signs were there before marriage and he ended the relationship more than 5 times but she kept begging. What she was holding on to was that there's no assurance that the guy will marry him, hence, her fears. According to him, the woman has accused him of sleeping with his former neighbors and she insisted that they move out of that area. for peace to reign, he agreed and they got another accommodation.

Again, she started accusing him of having something with his new neighbors (even the married ones). To be honest, this guy is admirable and very reserved and I'm not sure if he's doing all the things his wife accused him of. He got angry when his wife decided to report him to the church authority. According to him, this woman has no single proof of him cheating but her reprobate mind is affecting her badly. She even went ahead to share demeaning messages about him (her husband) on her whatsapp status. This guy said he has pleaded with her to stop but it's getting worse. Now, they were married for about two years without a child. He said he could manage to live with the woman for more years without a child but can't do that when his peace is been threatened. He said his wife nags a lot and it was driving him crazy. According to him, his mum was never in support of the marriage but dad was interested in it. As it stands now, he has left his wife and moved to another state where we both met.

I have been friends with him for about 3 months now and I must say that this guy is a sweet human being. He asked me out but I told him we should just be friends, owning that he's still legally married. However, my feelings for him is growing everyday and this guy knows how to get one emotionally attached to him. Even though I can perceive that he wants sex with me, he never begs or act too anxious over it. He's so calm and mature and this is making me to admire him the more.

Note: He said he has talked about divorce with his wife but she's refusing it. This is where my concerns come in.
Now, I'm scared of going into a relationship with him knowing that he's not divorced yet.

To be honest, I can hardly concentrate these days because the thought of this guy has occupied my mind. Can I go ahead with him or the implications would be overwhelming? To be honest, I've not met a guy has coolheaded and admirable as this guy but I'm scared.
please I need advice on how to handle this situation.

Thanks
You met him in church? Simple. Go through your Church's Senior Pastor.

If you cannot, then your answer is staring at you in the face. The answer to leave him and find a single man. Because the man is MARRIED.

From where I am from, there are certain places that if the lady is unfaithful and her husband sleeps with her, he will die immediately. If there is unfaithfulness and a child comes from it, that child is taken from the lady and becomes a responsibility for the Ummuna. That is after her people have been seriously fined.
So when it happens, the woman does her best to hide it. Or run away to a different State/ Country.

The plan of the government of England to jail me three to six years and then deport me to Nigeria for using my YouTube videos to highlight the suppression and subjugation of the Yoruba people in Nigeria by the Ibo and Fulani with the support of the government in England is within their rights.

What the government of England does not have a right over are my children, who were born before and after my marriage to their mother under the Yoruba Customary Law and the Nigeria Marriage Act.

As I did not marry their mother under the English Law, both the Yoruba Customary Law and the Nigeria Marriage Act give me the full custody of the Children as their Father. I shall therefore voluntarily return to Nigeria with my children if Tinubu is elected the President of Nigeria.

My conviction after a prolong and careful investigation by our legal team is totally unfair and unjust. We will appeal and be vindicated.

So I am 36 years and looking to settle down.
I have a lady friend who I have know for a while and is a really decent lady.
She is the type of person I would like to marry (I like conservative ladies and she is the conservative type no makeup which is what I want).
She is 32 years old.

A part of me feels it is better to wait for a while and try and get a younger "god fearing" lady.

To the men, what would you advise ?

I am kinda traditional and feel like a man should avoid marrying a lady in her 30s and also have a gap of atleast 7 years with the wife but I think I love her, I have been thinking about her lately.

Edited: A lot of people asking why I am not married at 36 years old, I was studying abroad, I just got back to naija to try and marry.
Go for the 32 year old lady.
Believe me, your peace of mind is MORE important than the age of the lady.
If a younger girl gives you peace of mind, go for her.
If its an older lady, go for her.
