FamilyRe: Why Do Girls Date Married Men by maedan(f): 2:46pm On Jun 18, 2009
Ans: For many selfish reasons. But sensible girls are only in it for the short run. Any girl hoping to "snatch" another woman's wife is truly despicable. Not that dating a married man, whether for love, money or great sex(and it has been proven that married men are usually hot in bed - why else would their wives marry them tongue) is a good thing. It is wrong in every way, but please, tell that to the skirt-chasing husband who won't settle down and stay with the wife they married "till death do them part" undecided.

@ FRESHMONEY

You are a disgrace to every literate person in this world. I didn't attend a private university but does that make me a bitter, angry, self-hating slowpoke like you? Don't come here and think that by insulting me, you look smart. Buffoon.  Anyone can call someone names, it's something even the people on the streets do. but what makes us different is how we rationally and with respect for others, state our opinions, which is what I did on the university issue. You need to get out of your own a**rse. Retard.
TV/MoviesRe: The Wolverine Movie, Lagos And The Igbo Language by maedan(f): 2:10pm On Jun 18, 2009
If what you guys are saying is true, then it's really embarrassing. Hollywood is usually known for researching their movies exhaustively, mainly because Americans are known for being perfectionists, that's why they are the best. But this misrepresentation of the motherland is unforgivable grin. They know that the most popular city in Nigeria is Lagos. Good. So they used Lagos. But then they messed up and used the wrong tribe. There could never, by any stretch of imagination or fiction, be a "remote Igbo village" some three days from Lagos or what ever crap it is they sprouted. I haven't seen the movie, all the reviews from friends and the media was sort of mixed up, so I'm staying away till I can make up my mind. In any case, Hollywood messed up such a big, expensive movie, that could have been hotter than the Iron Man or Batman movies.
PoliticsRe: Adeboye Wins Living Legend Polls by maedan(f): 1:48pm On Jun 18, 2009
It's a shame when people who can only dream to achieve what these icons have achieved in their lifetimes, can speak so rudely and with such blindsidedness about, for example, a man of God like Pastor Adeboye. This is not hero-worship but fact: this man has touched more lives than can be measured. He surely touched mine. If his university seems expensive, do you know how much it will cost to run such an institution to high international standards? In offering the best, it has become somewhat costly to the less privileged. Does that diminish the good that a quality university would do to those who can afford it? For all you know, he has scholarships for the less privileged, so long as they have the brains and determination. In short, it is good to respect your elders,no matter what you think of them. It's plain out of order for someone to insult Adeboye the way some people here are doing. Sometimes I feel ashamed to be a part of this forum.

choose you abi? See you grin. I thought we were discussing something serious here. If you want to act the part of MLK, that means that when they do an Obama movie in future, I get to play Michelle Obama tongue.

if not for all the fracas going on in one certain thread about fraternising on NL, a little "head-to-head" on YIM would have been a good idea grin. But for the sake of peace and tranquility, let's restrict all conversations to the posting forum wink.

^^^^ Ah, but Aloy.Emeka, u are wicked o cheesy. You know all these guys u posted above don't stand a chance. Obama classmate or not, lol. In the end, if there is really going to be a MLK movie, it will be someone with a lot of movie credits to his belt, respectable movies. But na dem know grin. If they ask me, I'll say Terrence Howard. I fit manage Cuba Gooding but anyone else, then I won't be watching. wink
TV/MoviesRe: Prison Break Season 4 by maedan(f): 8:02pm On Jun 09, 2009
@ semid4lyfe

noone introduced me to PB oo. I used to see some glimpses of the show, but i'd ignore it as one of those "macho" series. But one fateful day, hmmn----I'll never forget the day. I just changed the DSTV channel and there was Michael and Lincoln inside a van, handcuffed and waiting to be taken back to Fox River. I was like, who's that? I'm talking about Lincoln. Once the episode was over, I just knew I had to watch more - and I couldn't wait for the next week. So I rushed to the market and got some cool DVDs of Season 1, 2 & 3. It was all I did for five whole days or so: I ate, slept, drank PB till I finished Season 1- 3. And I haven't looked back ever since. So in essence, to answer your question, it was Lincoln Burrows that made me start to watch PB, not Wentworth Miller tho' he's cute and all.

So now u know. No be u ask me wetin be my own? tongue
TV/MoviesRe: Who Do U Want To Play Martin Luther King In The New Biopic? by maedan(f): 7:47pm On Jun 09, 2009
Thank you both for all the pix, it has thrown more light on the topic wink. I now maintain that Terrence Howard and Cuba Gooding are the right age and have the looks for the role. Aloy.Emeka, I agree with u about Cuba, there's something v.funny about him sometimes, he's not my favourite black actor but e dey try. Unfortunately, neither of them were on ur list. This Hollywood sef, noone can understand how they reason. But to be nationalistic, I think I would like the Nigerian on the list to have a shot(Chiweterl Ejiofor)/. Imagine a Nigerian acting as MLK. Noone go hear word again. grin
TV/MoviesRe: Who Do U Want To Play Martin Luther King In The New Biopic? by maedan(f): 5:19pm On Jun 09, 2009
Terrence is light-skinned, not mixed race, I don't think. Anyway, talk true, Will Smith did not resemble Muhammad Ali one bit. In fact, it still pains me that they used him for that.
TV/MoviesRe: Who Do U Want To Play Martin Luther King In The New Biopic? by maedan(f): 4:29pm On Jun 09, 2009
@ Mrbrownjay,

God will bless you, I meant to say Terrence Howard, not Cuba Gooding Jnr whom I mentioned earlier, would fit the role. In fact, Terrence is the best choice, with or without that list. I can already see it in my mind's eye: the guy would make it work. MLK Jnr was not so dark, so they need a light skinned actor anyway. He already has some good movies under his belt; they need to give him this big break. Will Smith did Muhammad Ali, Jamie Foxx had Ray Charles, even Denzel had Malcom X. I think it's Terrence Howard's turn to shine.

As for Will Smith, brotha please. Add weight or not, this gig is not for him. And did he really pull off Ali? Naah.
TV/MoviesRe: Who Do U Want To Play Martin Luther King In The New Biopic? by maedan(f): 12:40pm On Jun 09, 2009
^^^Jamie Foxx? Haha, the guy's good, but we're talking big-time here. Will Smith? Oh please! The movie will flop! As for Blair Underwood, I'm sure you're just being kind by mentioning him. But now that I think of it, noone mentioned Cuba Gooding Jnr; now that's a man who can pull this off, with the proper direction. Apart from Eddie Murphy, this is one guy that I think resembles King, and who has the charisma. IMO anyway.
TV/MoviesRe: Prison Break Season 4 by maedan(f): 9:31am On Jun 09, 2009
^^^^whaddaya mean, so Prison Break is too manly for me or what? Guy, that's the idea! tongue. I'm sure there're more female fans/viewers of PB series than male. I wonder why? grin cheesy
