Romance5 Signs You Should Break Up With Your Partner Now by magazineguy(op): 9:18am On May 23, 2017
Everything your partner does now seems to annoy you. The habits you tolerated before and even thought were kind of cute now irritate you so much. They drive you crazy!

When we start any relationship we think it will last forever and so, when things aren’t going the way they used to or the way they should, we still hold on with hopes that everything will be ok. But when is it time to let go? Below are some signs that shows it is time to move on

Waning of intimacy

It’s normal that at the beginning of any relationship, you both can’t seem to get your hands off each other and it’s also normal for that to decline with time. But when there is little to no intimacy in the relationship then it’s a sign that one or both of you have checked out of the relationship. There’s no law that states how many times you and your partner should have sex in a week or a month but when it declines to a point that it begins to feel like a routine or when you go a few weeks or months without sex then you know that it’s time to move on.

When you spend more time staring at screens than at each other

When you or your partner are together but one or both of you spend most of the time or even the entire time texting other people or scrolling through feeds on Instagram or Facebook then it’s a sign that you are both absent and need to rethink your relationship status.

When you never talk about the future

Of course when you’re in a relationship you’re in it for the long term. But when you or your partner shy away from any talk of the future then that is really a red flag. It shows that you aren’t willing to go further in the relationship or take it to the next level. No one wants to remain stagnant in anything.

When you’ve broken up and gotten back together more than once

It’s fine to break up and fix things and then get back together again, but when this happens more than once, it is proof that you and your partner aren’t really working on your issues and maybe it’s time to start looking in a different direction.

When one of you is still hung up on an ex

This is the most viable reason for any break up – in my opinion – as it shows that there is no real emotional attachment. If one person is constantly talking about their ex or comparing their partner to an ex it simply means that even though they don’t know it, they still feel something for that ex and so the current relationship won’t be progressive.

Of course there is always hope and you should try your best to work things out with your partner before making the drastic break up decision. But it is also important to know when to let go and move on. Communication is key in every relationship so before you decide to pack up and leave, try talking to your partner so you can both figure out where you went wrong and how to fix it.

CareerRe: 6 Selling Practices To Be A Good Salesman/woman by magazineguy(op): 10:22am On May 22, 2017
RichYoungNigga:

Sorry to tell you this

You can't practice how to be a good salesman/saleswoman

If you don't have it in you, you don't have it

You don't need to study business, economics or accounting to be a good salesman

I can sell you a product i know nothing about, then turn around and tell you it will kill you when you get home and you will still buy it

You can't practice how to be a good salesman
Hey bro, I am actually shocked at your statements.

Firstly, there is nothing like inbuilt, everybody learns. Agreed there are some persons with abilities doesn't mean you can learn it. Just like in school, we believe some students are brilliant while others are dull. But have seen a case where a dull student studied diligently and came out with good grades?

Secondly, acquiring necessary certification & degree matters a lot.

Lastly, selling a product you know nothing about works when you are trying to convince illiterates or people without good education.
Career6 Selling Practices To Be A Good Salesman/woman by magazineguy(op): 8:06am On May 22, 2017
Selling is a tedious and rewarding job at the same time. When a salesman knows how to go about his job effectively and efficiently, the sky will be his limit as he will achieve a lot financially and career wise.

Sales are the life wire of every business and as clearly stated by Samuel Watson: “nothing happens until someone sells something”. The statement simply says every other activity and continuity of a business relies on the inflow of revenue from sales. Therefore the art of selling is very important and should be understood and mastered.

A salesman or a business owner that intends to maximize sales and generate revenue should practice the following selling steps:

Have Product/Service Knowledge

This is very important as you cannot offer what you have no information about to your potential customers. The knowledge should be a totality of how your product/service functions, its importance, its unique selling proposition, the industry you are operating and other firms with alternative offering competing with yours.

Prospecting

Try to know the persons or organization that will likely patronize your business, you should also have in mind the 20/80 rule as the big buyers are always within the 20, you should work more towards winning them and also on the 80 too.

Relationship and Trust

A salesperson should have people skill and be able to freely discuss on several subjects, he/she should be very professional in appearance and conduct to be able to win prospects trust and friendliness. The ability to listen is very important as customers need(s) can be easily known through listening.

Presentation

Matching needs through presentation after listening and knowing exactly what the prospect needs is very crucial and should be done convincingly with understandable features and benefits of your product/service.

Answer Objection Questions

Customers have questions and doubts about why they should patronize your business. Answer these questions in the most convincing manner and give social proofs of your existing customers if you have to and also bring forth your unique selling proposition (USP).

Close Selling

This is the concluding part of the whole process. Always try to bring this forward after objections are tackled and your potential customer is convinced. Politely ask to get his/her order and then deliver quickly at the best possible time and provide after sales services to pave way for further businesses and referrals.

Health3 Natural Remedies To Treat Burns During Emergencies. by magazineguy(op): 1:48pm On May 18, 2017
People working in oil plants, processing sites have a higher risk of accidents resulting to burns. Everyone has to be in the lookout for an open fire anytime. It may occur in the kitchen while cooking. A
more serious incident due to carelessness or an unfortunate mishap with gas cylinders would result in severe burns.

Knowledge of burns and their treatment should be a standard skill for everyone’s knowledge when professional medical assistance is not forthcoming. It is important to know that our usual medical help will
not be available and in emergency situations, we would have to make use of natural products and plants to save a bad day for burn victims.

Although for mild and unserious burns, it could become limited and useless for serious cases especially third degree burns. It is advisable to allow water run on these burns for 10-15 minutes before applying the natural supplements. It is of note that the water should not be cold or frozen so as to avoid pain and pressure on the skin.

The first remedy is Vaseline or Petroleum jelly. After cooling with the water, the next step is to spread sufficient amount of Vaseline or petroleum jelly over the surface of affected areas. The burnt area should be
allowed fresh air to dry the skin.

The second remedy is Palm Oil. Palm oil is known to reduce pain and reduce fluids that emanate from injuries and burns. A cessation of the fluids will heal the burnt area rapidly.

The third remedy is Aloe Vera. Studies have shown that Aloe Vera helps new skin cells form and speeds healing. This is an excellent option for less-severe burns. Cut off an aloe plant, scoop the gel and rub on the burnt area. Ensure to reapply 4-5 times daily even without the bandage(s). Simplicity and relief are the keys to using Aloe Vera on burnt areas.

Yet a home remedy is the baking soda bath. Add 1/4 cup baking soda to a warm bath and soak for at least 15 minutes or longer if needed until the water cools off.

CelebritiesHere Are The Top 5 Winning Female Djs In Nigeria by magazineguy(op): 12:20pm On May 17, 2017
Do you still hold the belief that disc jockeying is a business for men alone? Then you are slow to observe the revolution in the industry. There is a new wave in the disc jockeying business and it is bringing female disc jockeys to fore.

Gone are the days when the deejay’s corner at events were reserved for men, while ladies were limited to being among the audience, trying to make sense of oozing speaker sounds, with little influence on the choice of music or the mood of the gathering. It was always firm male hands on deck, but the entertainment industry is now increasingly opening up to the beautiful female hands, spinning and scratching the sounds and controlling the sweeping mood at our events. Here is a list of female DJs that are changing the face of the business in Nigeria:

DJ Cuppy

She is probably the most talked about young disc-jockey in the industry, male or female. It is easy to see her as a paragon of beauty but beyond that, she is a master of sounds.

DJ Cuppy is the daughter of the billionaire owner of Forte Oil- Femi Otedola. Her real name is Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola. She would have been referred to as the O.B.O of the Deejaying Industry in Nigeria, except that she hardly ever talks about her father’s wealth.

Music is serious business to this young lady. She has amassed a wealth of music related knowledge and training over the years. Her portfolio is nothing short of stellar, some of her performances includes her playing at MTV Africa Music Awards, Tatler & Christie Art’s Ball in London, Financial Times Luxury Summit in Mexico.

More of her achievements includes her receiving the NEA best female DJ award in 2014. She has also released a couple of mixtapes including the highly successful mixtape House Of Cuppy. According to Ebonylife, she is the most accomplished female DJ in Africa.

DJ Cuppy is known for her brilliance with sounds, such brilliance has helped her to create her own sound which she describes as “Neo-Afrobeats.” Neo-Afrobeats is a fusion of Electro house and Afrobeats.

She continues to grow in leaps and bounds in the Nigerian entertainment world, with her performances at events and her venture into musical releases. She is expected to hold the forte for a long time and continue to make a claim for female dominance in the deejaying biz.

DJ Lambo

DJ Lambogini is her stage name but it is often shortened as DJ Lambo. Her real name is Olawanmi Okerayi. She has officially been DJing since 2009. Her decision to venture into disc-jockeying was borne out of her passion for mixing sounds, which she had nursed since childhood. Interestingly, she taught herself how to Deejay, today she is one of the biggest female disc-jockeys in Africa. Her mixes span across the genre of techno, Afro pop and hip hop.

Since she started DJing, she has recorded successes at different levels. Asides from handling the deck at some of the biggest events in Africa, she is the official DJ to one of Africa’s greatest rappers, M.I. She is signed to his label, Chocolate City. DJ Lambogini has been nominated for Best Female DJ in Africa in the African Global DJ Awards AGDA.

DJ Nana

I have personally experienced the Nana magic. It was one of the events I attended in 2016. I struggled to keep hold of my feet on the night, that’s how amazing her mix can be.

DJ Nana, whose real name is Nanayat Abedoh, is among the pioneer female Disc Jockeys (D.J.) in Nigeria. She is regarded as one of the best female DJs in Nigeria and Africa as a whole. She is known for her energy filled performances and her traditional use of head ties.

Born May 14th 1990, the exceptional female DJ has always distinguished her brand of entertainment. Her performances have headlined entertainment news and credits to her continue to increase. One of her early achievements was that she won the first ever “Airtel/Barcaddi Cool FM DJ Competition” and she proceeded to master the art of disc jockeying under the tutelage of the legendary DJ Jimmy Jatt at Jimmy Jatt Inc.

DJ Soupamodel

DJ Soupamodel, also known as “Kehinde Olatunde,” is an interesting character on and off the deck. She has stamped her presence in the circle of DJs in Nigeria, through her consistency, creativity and uniqueness. This is even more pleasing, considering the fact that it used to be a male-dominated business.

She is currently the CEO of MusicBlvdGroup, a full-service music production company, specializing in all facets of music production either for artistes, TV, film, commercials. The brand is also into artist management, artist development, apparel sponsorship, and so forth.

She has worked with a long-list of artistes. Among them are Wyclef, Jason Derulo, Mims, Soulja Boy, Nappyboy(T-pain), and the list goes on.

According to DJ Soupamodel, “you cant define my sound..you’ll hear a little bit of everything, with a weird twist.”..”my production does not sounds like anyone elses’ and that’s my nitch”…

She is also a member of CoreDJs and a DJ under Nappy Boy(T-Pain)

DJ Switch

Here is one the multi-talented female entertainers in the industry. She could either be caught working the turntable or spitting lyrics on the mic; whichever one, she performs with amazing dexterity.

Born as Obianuju Catherine Udeh, 29 year old Switch is a rapper and DJ. She is perhaps one of the most versatile female DJs around. Her portfolio is commendable. One of the high marks of her Deejaying experience was her being contracted as the official DJ of the Glo dance competition. She has worked with some of the biggest names in the industry, one of such names is Peter Okoye of Psquare. She was recently signed to his record label, P-classic.

The launch of DJ Switch into the Nigerian entertainment sphere can be traced to 2009. Then, she was a member of the music group, The Pulse, that won the 2009 Star Trek. She went on to win the maiden edition of GLO X-factor which brought her #24 million cash prize and a contract with Sony Music. In all of this adventure as a rapper, she advanced her craft as a disc jockey and today, she is one of the top female DJs in the country.

HealthCauses Of Excess Belly Fat And How To Avoid Them by magazineguy(op): 10:03am On May 16, 2017
Fatty acid is to be used as energy for fight or flight which is a state our body goes in to prepare us for danger and make us alert; but because the stress we are undergoing is mental, we do not make use of that energy, instead our body releases cortisol to help gather the fatty acids back. The problem is, the cortisol in the body just seems to love the abdomen so it gathers the fat and send it all to the abdomen instead of other body cells for storage.Reasons why we have excess belly fat

A lot of people – myself included- seem to have the nearly “perfect” bodies. Our arms and thighs are somewhat good and we might even pass off as “skinny” but our stomach just won’t let us get away with it. Besides ruining outfits and making us feel unattractive, belly fat is also dangerous to our health. It increases our risk for type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and some studies have shown that women with excess belly fat are at risk of developing breast cancer and gall stones. There is no apparent reason why our abdomen gets fat before other parts of the body although, some studies have shown that it is mostly due to the hormones in our body. Other factors that we can actually control, cause fat accumulation, these factors are listed below:

Lack of sleep

Getting just the right amount of sleep is crucial for your health. Lack of sleep affects our body negatively in so many ways and excess sleep is also not healthy. Studies have been done to prove that lack of sleep causes weight gain. Short sleep or poor quality sleep may lead to weight gain and fat storage in our body. And it always starts with the stomach. The same studies also show that excess sleep can lead to weight gain and abdominal fat. The right amount of sleep we need is 8-9 hours per night.

Stress

The stress hormones in our body plays a significant role in the control of belly fat. When we are stressed, our body increases the production of adrenaline which signals the fat cells to release their hormones.

Alcohol

When alcohol is consumed in small amounts, it acts as a stimulant and helps us “loosen up” but when consumed in large amounts, it acts as a depressant which slows us down. It slows our body’s metabolic process this includes the fat burning process in our body. Alcohol contains a lot of calories (depending on the type of alcohol being consumed). Also, when we consume alcohol it makes it more difficult to burn the fat that was already in our body as it temporarily inhibits lipoid oxidation. So previous calories do not get burned and new calories (from the alcohol itself) is immediately stored in our abdomen then we end up with excess fat.

Other factors

Other obvious factors like sedentary lifestyle, sugary beverages, carbonated sodas, low protein diets also cause accumulation of fat in our abdomen.

Healthy lifestyle choices can help us manage/control the accumulation of fat in our abdominal region. Exercise more, eat healthy (no carbs after 6pm), reduce alcohol intake, manage stress to control the stress hormone and reduce alcohol intake.

Investment5 Things To Consider Before Investing Fund In A Business by magazineguy(op): 8:09am On May 15, 2017
Business investment is considered risky and investors are always advised to calculate properly before taking a step in order to minimize and prevent loss of resources and time. Reliable information is the guidance that is required for good investment decisions.

Therefore, persons who are considering putting their money into any venture that they perceive gainful should consider the following:

It should be a legitimate business

When you are planning towards engaging in business, the first thing to consider is whether where your investment interest lies is legal in order to avoid consequences that range from fine, imprisonment or death sentence. There are several types of businesses that are in line with the laws of the country and these areas have vacuums that can be exploited profitably being it production, manufacturing or service delivery.

It should be viable

It should be something that is possible and doable and not a venture that can be likened to building castle in the air. The mode of operation of the business should be clear, practicable and possible return on investment is definite within a period that can accommodate cost, bring forth break even and generate profit.

It should be sustainable

An entrepreneur should analyze all the factors that will hinder the continuity of his intended venture. A business should be able to sustain its raw material inflow, continuous presence of professionals, experts and other important inputs. Considering businesses and schemes without product/service and clear source of revenue is gambling, ponzi schemes are not sustainable investments and should be avoided as they tend to be bleak in terms of continuity.

It should have clear competitive strategies

A very popular saying in business is “innovate or die”. It simply means, an entrepreneur must be ready, willing and fast at getting ahead of competition. Always make new discoveries that set you apart and ahead in your industry.

Investor should be open to diversification

Always make new business moves when you have to. When you diversify, you get new business and new means of income which will also help you against business failure. It is like having your eggs in different baskets, there always something left in the event of calamity. It sometimes create market for the first business as in the case of a popular bookshop in the country that deals in primary and secondary school books, the bookshop also went ahead to set up schools.

SportsIs Betting Changing The Fortune Of Nigerians? by magazineguy(op): 8:36am On May 12, 2017
To many Nigerians, betting has become a way of life. From sport betting to virtual game betting, from lotteries to pool games, more and more Nigerians are beginning to participate.

It is quite easy to reach this conclusion, considering the fact that there has been an apparent increase in the number of bet shops and offices across the country. From neighbourhood to neighbourhood, bet companies can be seen planting shops and offices, online betting platforms have been created increasingly, all in an attempt to ease accessibility for the teeming population of bettors.

Today, more people than usual can be seen trafficking in and out of bet shops, with some of them holding the famous white paper with black imprints, in their hands. This piece of paper is usually called Bet Slip, while another commonly used term for it is, Ticket.

Ordinarily, these tickets might appear to be small pieces of paper with imprinted names of sport teams, athletes or fancy looking numbers, as the case maybe. But to the owner, a ticket is considered an asset, a license to financial gains, it is literarily money in white pages, well, if nothing goes wrong with the prediction it carries. Tickets carry information of prediction made by the ticket owner; it allows such person to follow up on the outcome of his/her prediction. In the case where the prediction turns out to manifest, the slip would have to be tendered by the owner, to claim the winnings. For instance, on Sunday 07/05/2015, when Arsenal played Manchester United, if I placed a bet before the game, on Arsenal to defeat ManU, I would need to present my ticket at the bet shop, to claim my wins, since the match ended 2-0 in favour of Arsenal.

However, not all tickets gets to be tendered for claim of wins, most tickets lose their value when their contained prediction has a final outcome, an unfavourable one. Such slips are quickly disposed of. In the habit of bettors, they go on to make another prediction, then another bet is placed and for many, the cycle continues.

Nigerians are increasingly exploring more bet options; one of such options is virtual game betting. The fact that one can multiply his/her stake almost in an instant seems to appeal to a lot of bettors. The prospect of getting quickly enriched has made virtual game betting a rushed-to option for a lot of Nigerian bettors. But in virtual game betting, money is lost with the same speed as it is gained. People that visit bet shops to bet on virtual games, seem to be peculiar among other bettors. They are not usually seen holding tickets outside of the shops. Usually, their countenance while exiting the bet shop tells the tale. A lot of them visit the bet shop, wearing moods of oversized optimism but only few come out in similarly happy moods, and most of them use the exit doors wearing looks of disappointment, as if something inside the bet shop drained their optimism. People in this category go into bet shops to play virtual games of all sort, soccer, dog racing etc., these games are either won or lost inside of the shop, with nothing to follow up on, on the outside, except, either the celebration of winnings or the pain of loss. It might interest you to know that the parlance ‘Gbera,’ which was popularised by street-hop artiste, Small Doctor, originated from one of such dog racing virtual games. Today, virtual betting is a popular venture for a lot of Nigerians who are hoping to get lucky.

Generally, betting for many is a way of spinning the wheel of fortune. It is taking a chance and hoping to get lucky. Many people understand that life itself is about taking risks, and betting is one of the ventures of life that rewards risk-takers. Basically, people bet not because of lack but because they want more. Both the rich and the poor in the society are in it to multiply input. Both the young and the old in the society can be seen betting, so long you are prepared to take the risk.

Kunle has been involved in sport betting for 2 years. He works with a private company in Lagos. He adopted betting as his side hustle because he needs the extra cash, but his job is too demanding for him to do other businesses. He said betting has been a fairly profitable venture for him. According to him, although betting is a game of luck, he credits most of his successful predictions to his good judgment. The only reason he would quit betting is if he gets a well-paying job.

Chibuzor is a trader. He lost so much in is early days of betting that he almost quit. A friend of his encouraged him to continue. That friend gave him a formula that ‘changed his story.’ Formerly, with #200, #300, he would place bets and expects to win millions. His friend advised him to increase his stakes and reduce his accumulation size. Now he stakes as much as #5000, seeking to multiply it into two to four folds. Since he adopted this strategy, he has been cashing out more.

Peter is a student and a football fanatic. He helps people to make predictions. According to him, his ability to analyze and predict soccer games correctly, has earned him the nickname, Octopus. He revealed that on more than one occasion he spent part of his tuition and recovered it through bet wins. He said nothing is sure in betting, it is about risks. Peter said, “I tell my people, I am not giving you sure game but there is a good chance the game I give you will come”

Bako looked distraught coming out of the bet shop, when we spoke. He claimed to have lost #6500 playing virtual league. He had lost too much on soccer bet, so he decide to try virtual league bet since it is ‘quick money’. He lamented not considering that losing in virtual league bet is just as quick as the wins.

Lola is a student and she only came to the shop to deposit money into her bet account. She prefers betting online because it excuses her from having to join the mass in the bet shop. She had been betting for a year, before we spoke. She was introduced to betting by her ex and she did not stop even after they spread paths. The biggest amount she won from betting is #74,000. Asides from the fact that she follows world soccer, she checks online for predictions and tips. She does not see betting as a full-time venture, she believes that she would stop betting one day, but she does not know when. She said, ‘I don’t know (when I will stop betting). Maybe, it would just happen. But for now I’m in.’

Christian was shredding a bet ticket when I approached him. He had lost the bet because one out of his many accumulated predictions, failed. He was supposed to win #204,000 with #200, if the bet was successful. He said that was not the first time he was in that situation. He said, ‘I go dey bet till e come.’

More and more bet stories are being told in the society today, with very few big break stories, a lot of stories of losses and many more bottled-up losses. With this pattern, the energy and drive to bet only seems to intensify. The hope to tell the big break story someday is the reason people search for better luck by continually betting. At every attempt, a bettor hopes for profit. While they wait on mother luck, they hold the belief that every hustler has a pay day.

HealthWhat You Need To Know About Vitiligo by magazineguy(op): 10:00am On May 11, 2017
This right here is Winnie Harlow, a Canadian model, spokesperson and activist. She gained fame and popularity as one of the participants on the 21st Edition of the Television series America’s Next Top Model. She is well-known for her prominent form of the skin condition – vitiligo.

Vitiligo is a condition where pale and white patches develop on the skin due to insufficient melanocytes that produce melanin. Lack of the pigment melanin in the integument causes vitiligo. Melanin is produced by cells called melanocytes and it is responsible for giving the skin its colour – black, white, plum e.t.c.

Vitiligo is not limited to one particular part of the dermis; it can affect any area of the skin. It commonly occurs on the face (around the mouth and eyes), neck, hands (fingers and wrists), armpits, pubic region and even in skin creases- palmar especially.

The thin dermis is more vulnerable to sunburn so it is necessary to be precautious when in the sun. Lack of melanin in these vulnerable areas can turn the hair volume to white or grey.

A common characteristic is the fact that it does not cause dryness and discomfort but the patches may get scratchy once in a while.

Vitiligo varies from person to person. The patches are wider and not evenly distributed. Other people get small and thinner white patches that meet across larger parts on the skin.

Vitiligo is triggered by some events such as stress especially during childbirth, skin damage such as severe suburn or lesion (cut). A common trigger is the one of chemicals, especially those that work in chemical sites and laboratories.

It can never be contacted by touch or transmitted as an infection.

Vitiligo could be diagnosed;

there is a history of it in the family.
there is a history of other autoimmune conditions in the family.

Music/RadioTop 10 Naija Trending Music Presently by magazineguy(op): 7:43am On May 10, 2017
Music comes with different moods. There are times we just want to listen to a particular genre. Other times, we listen to just that one song that flows with our emotion and whatever we are going through. Music and entertainment outlets- blogs, radio stations, television have brought in shows and charts to help viewers juice up their playlists on their devices.

As ardent lovers of music in Nigeria, I believe this playlist is worth your time. I’m not going to base it on sentiment. It is not in any numerical order. This is not a competition. Right now, these joints are winning on almost all the charts in the country.

I bring you the movers and shakers of moods. This is my opinion – strictly mine!

9ice – Living things

9ice came through with talks of being on top and prayed for his finances. No surprises considering the fact we heard he was leaving music for politics. This high-tempo tune laced with drums and fusion of guitar can make you stand up on your feet.

YCEE ft. Maleek Berry – Juice

This Maleek Berry – assisted joint was one of the build-up to the “The First Wave” EP. The Omo Alhaji crooner talks about a particular lady who has his attention. The Tinny Entertainment frontliner did justice on the bass production as Maleek Berry helped him on this one. It was all about the juice and the sauce.

Davido – If

David dropped this without warning. He promised to share everything with the woman he professes his love to, including his thirty billion in his bank account. That woman has got to be stunner. He really took by surprise on the Tekno-produced tune with pure drums and piano sampling.

Wizkid ft. Drake – Come Closer

Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun continued his bromance with Aubrey Graham on the Afro-pop tune. Is Ayodeji asking for intimacy? Is Drake finally succumbing to external talks on his lifestyle? Too mixed up in drama to go outside, too mixed up in drama to free my mind. He expressed as he jumped on his verse.

Tekno – Yawa

Anita is in dilemma with Tekno because he has not been playing the part of a good lover. Tekno asks for forgiveness on this one for his unjust actions. Anita must not leave Slim Daddy or else “yawa go dey”.

Olamide – Love No Go Die

Olamide has found solace in his lady and promised undying love for this unknown woman. Young Jon the wicked producer still continues with the same consistency that saw him bag nominations in top Nigerian Awards two years ago.

Burna Boy – Hallelujah

Burna will always make good music even though there were times he let us down. The Ahoada man from Rivers state thanks God for his blessings, protections and loved ones around him even when he thinks doesn’t deserve them in any bit. Hallelujah will make you give all gratitude to the most high.

Tekno – BE

Slim Daddy dropped this as a follow-up to Yawa. Sarz made this a phenomenon. He samples lyrics from Nigerian musical icons- D’banj, Wizkid, 2Baba, Danfo Drivers, as he wants to ‘BE’ everything to his girl. You must have this one in your playlist.

DJ Xclusive ft. Runtown – Sexy Girls

The Empire mates Entertainment in-house Disc Jockey got the production of Spellz and artistry of Runtown to make this one a club banger and a chart-topper. Runtown delivered as the end product was a hit.

Krizbeatz ft. Davido and Tekno – Erima

Davido and Tekno jumped on the drummer boy’s beat and killed it flirting with and at the same time lusting after the curvaceous Erima from FESTAC town. It is indubitable that Krisbeatz is trying to form a niche with Tekno or vice-versa.

CelebritiesForbes' Top 10 Most Bankable African Artistes In 2017 by magazineguy(op): 10:49am On May 09, 2017
South African based music cable station, Channel O and Forbes Africa recently presented the top 10 most bankable African artists.

According to Channel O, the top ten were determined by a number of factors such as endorsements, brand value, earnings, bookings, popularity, and social media presence. The list shows the African artists making the most money in Africa.

10. Oliver Mtukudzi – Zimbabwe

Oliver (Tuku) Mtukudzi has 65 albums under his belt — more than Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston. It’s a remarkable career stretching back 41 years with songs that have enlivened parties all over the world.

“I never decided to be in the music industry. It was in me. My mother said ‘you are a good singer but you will never surpass your birth cry. Your birth cry was so beautiful’,” says Mtukudzi.

9. Sarkodie – Ghana.

You can’t mention Ghanaian music and not think of Sarkodie. He literally took the Ghana music industry from almost there, to everybody pay attention! With everyone from Tim Westwood to Ludacris giving him props. Sarkodie has managed to carve out a path for himself that no one can touch. Not only is he an incredible talent, he is also a presidential youth ambassador in Ghana. He’s established the Sarkodie Foundation to tackle the plight of the homeless and needy children in his country. Businesswise, he has his clothing label Sark clothing.

Let’s just say while most people are getting their gear made in china, Sarkodie is getting his line made in Dubai. He is also a brand ambassador to electronics giant Samsung. He’s won over 14 awards and has a sweet deal with Ghanaian ice cream production company Fan Milk Ghana. With a solid 360 career, it’s safe to say Sarkodie is not a business man, he is a business, man!

8. Davido – Nigeria.

Davido has claimed a high status in just five years. The single Back When planted him firmly in the music business in 2011. “It was people like [Nigerian music veterans] P-Square and D’Banj who made me believe that all this was possible,” he recalls. Dami Duro, an unexpected hit, leaked online almost a year prior to its official release, became the crown jewel for his widely acclaimed 2012 debut album, Omo Baba Olowo.

7. Wizkid – Nigeria.

Wizkid is arguably currently the uncrowned king of African music. Grammy Award-winning artist, Alicia Keys and husband Swizz Beatz, danced to his songs Ojuelegba and Caro, with Keys posting a video on her Instagram account with the caption, “This song makes me happy” and Kylie Jenner posted a video of herself dancing to Wizkid’s music on snapchat.

6. Jidenna – Nigeria.

By the age of 10, Jidenna Theodore Mobisson knew he wanted to do music but was afraid to tell his father who wanted him to be an engineer. It was just as well that his name means embracing the father.

5. Tinashe– Zimbabwe.

Twenty-four-year-old Tinashe Kachingwe sang before she could talk. Her Zimbabwean father Michael, and mother Aimie, from Denmark, have always helped. Tinashe was a child model by the age of three, made her first appearance in 2000 in the film Cora Unashamed and her voice starred in the cartoon feature film The Polar Express alongside Oscar-winning actor, Tom Hanks.

4. Don Jazzy – Nigeria.

Typically producers aren’t the headline in Africa but Don Jazzy has definitely changed this game. Don Jazzy has an influence in Nigeria second to none; when he tweets, things happen. As a recording artist label executive and producer, he is the CEO of Mavin Records home to D Prince and Tiwa Savage. He’s been behind some of the most of the iconic songs in African music history; Oliver Twist perhaps being the biggest to date. Don Jazzy has managed to clinch lucrative deals with MTN and Samsung to mention a few. With a chilled out vibe often known for just moving about in his P.J pants. Don Jazzy is so talented he has producing credits on Kanye West, Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s song ‘Lift Up’.

He also produced ‘Mr. Endowed’ by D’Banj featuring Snoop Dogg. There’s nothing much to say about Don Jazzy because unlike everyone else, his success and achievements do all the talking. If you are wondering why he’s so high up on list, let’s just say that the people behind the music make a lot more than what you know

3. Hugh Masekela – South Africa.

Born in Witbank, east of Johannesburg, Hugh Masekela is committed to restoring African heritage. This world-renowned flugelhornist, trumpeter, bandleader, composer and singer has released more than 43 albums and performed with Marvin Gaye, Dizzy Gillespie, The Byrds, Fela Kuti, Paul Simon, Stevie Wonder and Miriam Makeba. “The music I make, I don’t call it my music. It is based on my township and indigenous rural roots in South Africa. That’s what brought me fame all over the world,” he says.

2. Black Coffee – South Africa

Black Coffee, real name Nkosinathi Maphumulo, has not only raised the bar for South African house music, but has put it on the world map. The multi-award-winning artist was born in South Africa’s house music province, KwaZulu-Natal (KZN), raised in the Eastern Cape province, where struggle stalwart Nelson Mandela hailed from, before moving back to KZN to study music. It was worth it.

1. Akon

Just his name Akon is enough said for this list. This international African superstar has become one of the world’s biggest stars. He’s launched the careers of Lady Gaga and T-Pain. He is the CEO of Konvict Music, a multiple brand ambassador. He’s done what everyone has wanted to do. The best part is that his ties with Africa are still pretty solid, working with P-Square, Wizkid just to mention a few. He’s been known to open doors for other African acts.

From record sales to YouTube views, concerts to endorsement, affiliations to charities, he is the top of the top and most definitely has given African urban music a face. We don’t need to say much, just google Akon and see why he is without a doubt the number one most bankable African artist.

RomanceErotic Anatomy: Understanding Your Partner’s Needs by magazineguy(op): 8:27am On May 09, 2017
I stayed up the other night just thinking of an article to write – I get my best ideas at night between 2 am and 4 am, but I was having severe writers block! I couldn’t think of anything!

I got out of bed and went down for a cup of tea because I think well with a cup of tea in my hand but yet l still couldn’t think of anything; so I gave up. I just sat on the sofa thinking about life and everything. Basically, I just let my mind wonder.

It wondered to school and lectures and everything and then to my human physiology course and then I remembered a particular topic that interested me back then. It was sex education of course but like a more advanced version – Erotic Anatomy. I immediately decided that was what I was going to write about. I took out my pen and paper, brought out my computer put on my glasses and started researching online. Erotic Anatomy!

Turns out quite a few people have already written articles and even books about Erotic Anatomy. I decided to do a little research of my own. I started texting every guy on my contact list and asking them the weirdest places they liked to be touched to get turned on and surprisingly I got the same reply from every single one of them. They didn’t know! None of them had the slightest idea where they liked to be touched – besides the obvious places of course. To them sex meant just like a few kisses and then whip out the rubber and action!

They made it seem like the whole issue of pre-intimacy is just for the ladies. That is absolutely not true. It is for both parties. Sex is as much for the guy as it is for the girl. I mean in addition to the apparent regions of the body, there are so many other parts with so many nerve endings that turn us on in so many different ways. Each part produces a different feeling.

I think it’s up to us to explore our partners’ body. Find that spot that makes them cringe- in a good way – that spot that makes them arch their back. Most guys don’t explore their ladies to the fullest and ladies always complain. But what about leading by example? If you want to be explored, then you should do a little exploring too.

And remember to explore with everything. Not just your hands. Explore with your lips, explore with your tongue, explore with your feet!

Just make sure you and your partner shower before and after you do all that nasty stuff!

LiteratureRe: When Love, Business And Mind Conquers [A Fiction] by magazineguy(op): 8:25am On May 09, 2017
cont'd

When Bibi left, he kept thinking of what to indulge in to create a job for himself, his mind went back to all the business stories he had read and how entrepreneurs were the people that made the best difference in societies. Was he going to engage in small production? Does he have skills for that? What about service delivery? Yes! That sounds like something he could do, but what exactly? He went to the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) that afternoon to make enquiries. With the information he got, his business degree will enable him register a business development company and he plan to direct his services at youths who are either in school, unemployed or employed. When he shared his ideas with Bibi, she was happy for him and also contributed to the take off capital. Few weeks passed and the certificate of registration was ready, he also got a bank account with the business name. His plans were to start with ‘Youth Business Inspiration Conference’, he also wants to do business coaching, write business articles and hold business related events. He got a date and venue for the event, made flyers and distributed. As the event approached, it was already less than two weeks to the chosen date and the money realized from the few who paid cannot take care of the venue talk more of other expenses. He was losing it, it was telling on him physically. On sharing this with Bibi, she suggested he opt for social media to advertise it and he also remembered all the great guys he did stuffs with way back, from the book club days to Goals Buddies, he picked his phone and made contact with them all and everyone shared the event on one social media platform or the other using Facebook, Whatsapp, Twitter and Instangram. Lagos youths were excited and many in their hundreds paid before the D-day. The day came and as he stepped out fully prepared with few other trusted friends that will speak at the event, he seemed fulfilled. More registration took place at the venue; about one thousand five hundred youths attended the event, the delivery was awesome, the networking was perfect and news also went round that some were able to start their business team right there.

He was someone with pure and appreciative heart, things have change overnight, there was about N2M left in his business account and calls were also coming from organizations with interest in youth entrepreneurship, he was already booked to speak at two events and the pay involved were very appealing. Bibi’s line wasn’t connecting, only a voicemail stating she had gone to a nearby state for official assignment and he was so anxious to break the good news. A week had gone by and the whole conference and its drama were settling and right through the door, Bibi stepped into his family apartment where he lived once again, she was cheerful and happy, she had gotten a promotion at work, she broke the news happily and he also told her about the successful conference, she was happy for him too. Tobi realized he had ignored something for too long and right on his knees he went saying: “Bibi, we have being friends since campus days and it’s being a great ride but we are more than that. Please can we complement each other forever? Please marry me.” She responded with a ‘yes’ and they have being waxing stronger ever since.

LiteratureWhen Love, Business And Mind Conquers [A Fiction] by magazineguy(op): 8:45am On May 08, 2017
Tobi sat staring through the door, it’s very clear he was lost in thoughts. He didn’t notice Bibi’s entrance right through the direction of his gaze. His mind was laden with many issues ranging from how difficult the country has become for the common man to survive to the rising level of job loss, he became fatigued and seemed hopeless as his mind roamed farther only to be jolted back to reality by Bibi’s words.

“Stop the thinking; have you forgotten so soon how you made things happened on campus? Remember you were the one everyone looked up to; most of our friends owe their success to you. You founded and coordinated Goals Buddies on campus back then,” she uttered.

“That was then and how long will I be reminded of how irrelevant I have become among my peers? I can’t seem to find a nice job, can’t even buy the things I used to. When was the last time I gifted you with something?” Tobi replied angrily.

Bibi moved closer to him and made few steps of pacing round him, she stopped abruptly, an action which seemed to confuse him. Then she uttered these words: “I know you can still make a difference, do some deep soul searching, adopt some level of optimism, add some positive actions and you will be doing great things again.”

She was right; Tobi was an exceptional kid and still is. Hard working is the best description for him as he paid detail attention to studies from his secondary school days and throughout his university years. He was very innovative and always had something commendable on the side as he had a book club in secondary school and was also able to collect used books from his colleagues for donation in orphanages and to libraries of schools without access to good educational materials. Tobi was that exceptional and university provided him with a bigger platform and opportunity to explore his novelty, Goals Buddies (GB) was meant to help fellow students on campus to stay focus to their academics, develop and pursue positive goals. Seminars, yard sales, contests and other events for the youths on campus were regularly organized. Bibi on the hand was very good at team work and since the day she attended one of the frequent seminars on entrepreneurship, she couldn’t resist the desire to become a member of Goals Buddies herself. She joined and her participation in event planning was highly encouraging as she had inputs from the development stage to invitation and decoration of venues. It was fun and the recognition that top members especially Tobi and Bibi had on campus was mind blowing, they were celebrated by fellow students and the peak of all these was when the GB magazine was launched, the school went agog, the photo shoots, the launching and the after party endeared them more to friends and well wishers on campus. Tobi and Bibi graduated the same year; a farewell party was held for them by the new executives of GB and throughout the event the atmosphere was enveloped in emotion as some of the students were visibly dropping tears.

On the completion of the compulsory national service, Tobi and Bibi still maintained contact since they both lived in Lagos, while she served in Calabar in Cross River, Tobi served in Kano, one of the northern states in the country. Fortunately for Bibi, she landed a job with one of the major telecommunication companies in the country within a very short period after returning to Lagos. Tobi was finding it difficult to get a job and the thought of remaining in the same state was almost pushing him into depression.

“What else should I do?” He lamented.

“Do what you have always done, but this time around, create jobs.” Bibi replied.

Business13 Success Quotes To Help You Reach Your Goals by magazineguy(op): 8:33pm On May 06, 2017
Do you have big goals you long to achieve? One of the surest paths to success is imitating the people you admire.

The 13 success quotes in this post will teach you the advantages of high achieving people.

SPOILER: There’s nothing mysterious or secretive about these strategies.

The truth is…normal people who consistently make winning choices can enjoy massive success.

So here are 13 success quotes to help you make winning goals.

1. Quitters don’t win.

“…if you really look closely, most overnight successes took a long time.” — Steve Jobs

In her research study, Dr. Angela Duckworth found that Grit, “perseverance and passion for long-term goals,” predicted success “better than any other predictor.”

It makes sense. No one who quits a goal achieves it. Plus, we’re way more likely to give up than to encounter a truly unbeatable obstacle.

2. Consistency fuels productivity.

“Successful people are just those with successful habits.” — Bryan Tracy

When you’re chasing big goals, the kind that takes months or years to accomplish, your biggest enemy will be complacency — letting days go by without any forward motion.

Productive habits are the antidote.

Instead of cramming when you feel like it, do a little every day.

In one year, a person working only 15 minutes every day will invest almost twice as much time as someone cramming in a two hour session every other week.

Small wins add up and lead to big results.

3. Failure is normal.

“Success is the ability to go from failure to failure without losing your enthusiasm.” — Winston Churchill

We’re raised to believe that some people are born for success while others are born for failure. But the truth is, everyone is born for failure. And the people who learn how to win with failure, get to enjoy success.

Today, Sir James Dyson has an estimated net worth of $4.3 billion, but when he was trying to invent the bagless vacuum, his first 5,126 prototypes failed to produce the results he wanted.

Dyson learned from each experiment, and on his 5,127 attempt, he found the design he was looking for.

Successful people fail more because they try as long as it takes. Are you willing to do the same?

4. Ego slows progress.

“It doesn’t matter how many times you fail. You only have to be right once and then everyone can tell you that you are an overnight success.” — Mark Cuban

The world’s greatest inventors, innovators, storytellers, and entrepreneurs have all walked a similar path.

They looked incredibly stupid until they looked incredibly smart.

If you want to succeed faster, start looking stupid.

Try things. Learn things. Failure is the tuition you pay to become a master.

As Sanctus Real sings, “Cool is just how far we have to fall.”

5. Practice really works.

“The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is practice.” —Vladimir Horowitz

Author and researcher K. Anders Ericsson has dedicated his career to studying the power of practice. In his book Peak, he writes…

“In pretty much any area of human endeavor, people have a tremendous capacity to improve their performance, as long as they train in the right way. If you practice something for a few hundred hours, you will almost certainly see great improvement…” (Pg. 113)

Takeaway? There are things you’re good at and things you can get better at.

6. Many limits are imaginary.

“All you need in this life is ignorance and confidence, and then success is sure.” — Mark Twain

According to the science of self-efficacy, believing you can accomplish a goal is a crucial first step to achieving it.

Everyone has areas of strength and areas of weakness.

Your weaknesses won’t disappear overnight, or maybe ever.

But normal people accomplish amazing things every single day, in spite of their weaknesses.

You start by believing you can.

7. Blaming others stunts growth.

“I attribute my success to this: I never gave or took any excuse.” — Florence Nightingale

We all make mistakes, but we don’t all learn from them.

Growth comes from thinking about what you could have done differently. And the moment you blame someone else, you turn off your brain and forfeit your power to improve.

That’s a problem…because people who don’t learn from their mistakes tend to repeat them.

8. You are responsible for your success.

“The best years of your life are the ones in which you decide your problems are your own. You do not blame them on your mother, the ecology, or the president. You realize that you control your own destiny.” — Albert Ellis

If you feel trapped by the burden of unmet potential, stop waiting to be rescued and start planning your escape.

Don’t wait for support. Seek it. Don’t wish for more talent. Cultivate it. Don’t hope for a lucky break. Prepare to capitalize on the breaks each of us receive.

Do we control everything? Absolutely not. But how much do we control?

By my math…less than we’d like and more than we think.

9. Passion promotes perseverance.

“Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.” — Herman Cain

Although Cain is a controversial figure, I wholeheartedly agree with this quote.

Ted Dekker is a New York Times bestselling novelist who has sold over 10 million copies. But his first five books went unpublished.

Writing a novel is tough. Ted did it five times with nothing to show. No one would have blamed him if he’d just given up.

Why didn’t he quit?

Ted explains, “Writing gives me clarity.”

While no job is 100% fun, to persevere through setbacks and failures, you need to find meaning in the work, not just the outcome. If you can’t find meaning in the work, consider finding different work.

10. Deadlines inspire action.

“A goal is a dream with a deadline.” – Napoleon Hill

Have you gone months or years with no progress toward your goals?

You need to stop procrastinating and create an actual plan with a deadline.

It’s easier than you probably think!

11. No one succeeds alone.

“You can have everything in life you want, if you will just help enough other people get what they want.” — Zig Ziglar

Twilight, The Vampire Diaries, and True Blood were all remarkably successful franchises based on a similar concept (that wasn’t original to any of them).

Did they detract from each other’s success? No, they helped each other by attracting new fans to the genre.

If you help your friends succeed, they’re likely to help you too. And the more successful they become, the more helpful they can be.

Who can you help today who might help you back later?

12. Success demands boldness.

“Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.” — Hellen Keller

Why do we play everything safe? What are we protecting?

Life is short. Pride is stupid.

Will you work for what you want this week, especially when it scares you?

13. The first step is crucial.

“People who succeed have momentum. The more they succeed, the more they want to succeed, and the more they find a way to succeed. Similarly, when someone is failing, the tendency is to get on a downward spiral that can even become a self-fulfilling prophecy.” — Tony Robbins

Success is a game of momentum, and the first step is one of the hardest.

So in the early stages, be patient with yourself.

You are doing the difficult work of getting started, waiting for momentum to team up and push alongside you.

Business4 Habits That Can Improve Your Work Performance by magazineguy(op): 7:14am On May 06, 2017
Entrepreneurs, world leaders and professional athletes all have one thing in common: They all have some quirky habits.

In the world of sports, strange habits like spitting on the ground and even clapping have been credited with improving athletes’ performance. But, is there something to this beyond superstition? It turns out that maintaining a few small, ritualistic habits can have a potentially measurable effect on performance. By some accounts, 45 percent of folks admit they carry out some kind of ritual before they tackle a difficult piece of work.

These four habits might not be as strange as those rituals, but at least we can explain why they will improve your performance and attitude.

1. Get to work (a little) early

Let’s start with the basics, shall we? Getting to work earlier than you need to might not sound great, but as a habit, it has the potential to improve your mindfulness and your outlook. Let’s break it down. Getting to work early includes:

Picking out your clothes at night before you go to bed.
Having a lunch made the night before.
To be clear: We’re not encouraging you to get to work hours early, or even a half-hour early. The goal is merely to cut down on the inherent anxiety of waking up at a fixed time, taking care of your morning constitutionals and then braving savage rush hour traffic, with the intention of arriving clear-headed and without any lingering road rage.

The point is, if you leave yourself just a few extra minutes each morning — and do so as a matter of habit — you’ll cut out a lot of frustration and anxiety from your life, and likely improve your mood and performance in the workplace while you’re at it.

2. Leave yourself notes (everywhere)

You never know when inspiration is going to strike. It might be in the shower, on your way to work or in the middle of the night. If you’ve ever sat bolt upright in bed at 3 a.m. because you just had a breakthrough idea, you know what we’re talking about.

Leaving yourself notes might feel at first like a bad habit — like your memory is failing you — but just the opposite is true. Having post-it notes all around your work areas is one possible sign of an active, productive and fearlessly creative mind. Indulge this habit and leave notes everywhere!

3. Use visualization to conquer your emotions

Rituals don’t have to make literal sense — they just have to help you out in some way. Case in point? This visualization exercise, as described in an experiment conducted by HBR.

The experiment studied 85 students who were tasked with singing a song in front of a live audience. Half of the performers were instructed to draw a picture of how they felt prior to the presentation — Nervous? Frightened? Scared to death? — then reflect on the drawing for a full five seconds and then crumple up the drawing and throw it in the trash.

Does it sound useless? Maybe, but it’s not. The students who carried out the ritual gave objectively better performances, felt less anxious and even had calmer heart rates.

Visualization is a powerful tool. By directly reflecting on your not-so-helpful feelings before a high-stakes performance, you can put things in perspective and fully understand that the anxiousness is all in your head. You can apply this idea to work at any time by practicing this kind of mindfulness before each big task, interview or review. Be honest about how you’re feeling — then “crumple up” those feelings and throw them away. The unburdened feeling you’ll enjoy afterward could make a big difference in your work.

4. Take a minute each morning to arrange your workspace

Our desks, cubicles and open floor plan workspaces are our homes away from home. But, do you actually feel at home there?

Take real ownership of the physical space you work in. When you arrive each morning, take a moment to be sure everything’s where you expect it to be and all of your essential tools can easily be found. Getting overly obsessive about how your things are arranged isn’t healthy, but if it’s something that improves your workflow without inconveniencing others, there’s absolutely no harm in it.

Settling into your workspace each day and really making it your own can help you out in some significant ways. As we mentioned, it can help keep you organized and prepared for whatever the day throws at you, but it also psychologically prepares you and creates a stronger sense of ownership over the work you do. If your space is truly your own, then so is everything you accomplish there.

Find what works for you

Professionals the world over have some quirky, helpful habits.

What are your habits? They don’t have to be particularly elaborate or unorthodox — in fact, the simpler they are, the better. The point is merely to encourage and practice behavior that gets you and your employees into the right mindset. See what works for you!

Sports13 Things About Anthony Joshua You Need To Know by magazineguy(op): 9:41pm On May 04, 2017
On April 29th, 2017, the world witnessed the crowning of a new World Heavy Weight Boxing Champion. After 11 rounds of hard-hitting boxing, the legendary Wladmir Klitschko fell to the fist of the striding young boxer, Anthony Joshua. It was an historic triumph for the 27 years old whose nationality became a talking point, especially in Nigeria.

Although Anthony Joshua has been a popular boxing figure before the May 29 fight, it was his victory on that night that raised his popularity in this part of the world to astronomical heights. While his success has put him in the keen focus of Nigerians, many still only know him as the world boxing champion, who defeated Klitschko.

So I decided to put up a list to reveal more about Anthony Joshua. Here are 13 things you should know about him:

BACKGROUND

Anthony Joshua was born in the UK to a Nigerian Mother and a father of Nigerian and Irish descent, which makes him a subject of dual-nationality. His is nicknamed ‘AJ’. Some of his friends also call him ‘Femi,’ a shortened version of his middle name, Oluwafemi.

HIS LAUNCH INTO PRO BOXING

Joshua became a boxer in 2007 at the age of 18 after he was encouraged by his cousin. That cousin of his, is fellow unbeaten professional boxer, Ben Ileyemi. The pair made their professional debut together in 2013.

THE REJECTION

Anthony Joshua wanted to represent Nigeria at the 2012 Olympics. But a coach in Nigeria told him there was no chance. Joshua reportedly was told that if he was good enough, he’d represent England instead of coming back to Nigeria, when he asked to join in trials.

HIS CAREER TAKE-OFF

Joshua now fights professional boxing for Great Britain. He won an Olympic gold in the super heavy-weight division at the 2012 London Olympics. At the threshold of his boxing career, Joshua won numerous bouts and competitions which made many see promise in his athletic venture. One of such early promising signs was his silver medal claim at the World Amateur Boxing Championship in Azerbaijan, in 2011.

RANKING

According to The Ring, the world now considers Joshua the No. 1 heavyweight in the world because of his victory over Klitschko and partly because of Fury’s hiatus from the sport. Tyson Fury, another out-in-front pugilist, has wasted no time in asking AJ for a fight. AJ earned his top ranked status on the night of his remarkable victory at the Wembley Stadium.

CAREER STATS

He has an impressive record of 19 KOs in 19 bouts of his professional career.

RECORDS

Second only to Joe Fraizer, AJ is the World Heavyweight boxer while still Olympic Heavyweight Champion. Second only to James DeGale, AJ is a British boxer to win world title after Olympic Gold.

HUSTLE STORY

He worked as a bricklayer before taking up boxing full time.

EMOTIONAL SIDE

His mother Yeti Odusanya has not been in one of his bouts since his London Olympics 2012 gold medal triumph. In fact, AJ banned his mum from watching him fight Klitschko in the stadium. He wrote on his Instagram page, ‘I’ve banned her. It’s not a place where you want to see your kid, I don’t think, at a fight.’

LEGAL ISSUES

In 2009, Joshua was remanded in Reading prison U.K for what he describes as ‘fighting and other crazy stuff’. He was made to wear an electronic tag on his ankle when released.

In 2011, Joshua was pulled over by police for over-speeding in Colindale, North London. He was found with 8 ounces of herbal cannabis hidden in his sports bag in his Mercedes Benz. He was charged with possession with intent to supply a class B drug. An offence that carries a maximum of 14 years sentence. Joshua was suspended From GB boxing squad and was sentenced to a 12-month community order and 100 hours unpaid work after pleading guilty at crown court.

HONORS

Anthony Joshua was made a Member of British Empire (MBE) in 2013, for his service.

FUN ACTIVITIES

AJ likes to improve his tactical prowess. One of the ways he does that is by playing Chess.

LOVE FOR NIGERIA

Anthony Joshua loves Nigeria. He has a tattoo of the map of Africa on his arm, with Nigeria highlighted. To nip in the bud on the controversial issue of his nationality, AJ said, ‘My heart is with Nigeria, my heart is with Britain. I’m Nigerian by blood.’

SportsAhmed Musa: A Bona Fide Cult Hero by magazineguy(op): 8:40am On May 04, 2017
In the opinion of many Nigerians in the North, Ahmed Musa is a bona fide star, a true hero.

The fans are in awe of him; they even chant his name during games involving the Super Eagles of Nigeria and even mob him after matches, sometimes. They arrive in groups and make sure they have selfies with him before he proceeds down the tunnel.

When the national team’s security officials try to fend off the mobsters, Ahmed Musa would tell them to be gentle.

In June of 2015 during the Super eagles’ Africa Cup of Nations qualifying game against Chad in Kaduna, fans chanted his name almost all through the match. At intervals, the speedster would stop to wave in acknowledgement.

This is the praise and recognition the former Kano Pillars man enjoys up north, like no other Nigerian footballer.

In the other quarter of the nation, it is different.

Many southerners are not sure where to place and in their minds always look for a fault. He is not adored and is usually looked at as another player picked on the basis of sentiments and should not even be on the call-up roaster for games. Such is the disdain they have for him. Sometimes, Ahmed’s pace let him down. Many times, Ahmed has lost control of the ball in trying to trick opposition.

Ahmed Musa burst into limelight in 2010 when he broke the 20-year old record in the Nigerian league with 18 goals to his name for Kano Pillars Football Club.

Ahmed Musa is known to be an early bird after Vincent Enyeama in reporting to training and preparation for games. The lad has not looked back since 2013 after the victorious 2013 Africa Cup of Nation under the Late Stephen Keshi.

The talent of the Jos-born forward has never been in doubt as he had maintained consistency in Europe with spells in Russia and England.

Ahmed is currently the longest-serving player in the super eagles and has never turned down an invitation to play for Nigeria as well as having no major scandal. Musa’s power on the pitch is still not one to forget in the future.

Jobs/VacanciesWhy Adding A Side Hustle To Your Current Job Is A Good Thing Right Now by magazineguy(op): 8:40pm On May 03, 2017
It’s a great thing to own a job especially in this current economy where jobs are being lost on daily basis in their hundreds. When you have a job, you have the means to cater for your needs and also enjoy the privileges that come with employment financially and otherwise. Some persons are fortunate enough to have had the opportunities to meet important personalities and visit great places as a result of the kind job they do or the organization they work for. A great number of people find fulfillment in their jobs, they are contented and they love the organization they work for to a fault displaying their pride as an employee of the said organization at the slightest opportunity.

On the other hand, many are frustrated and unhappy because they hate their jobs, their bosses, the organization and everything that has to do with it, they are only stuck because they need the salary to enable them carry on with life. The worst scenario is workplace harassment and co-workers rivalry; these are the two major factors that make workplace very uncomfortable. Whether one is a happy employee or a dissatisfied worker, there is need for a business that can generate additional income.

Young Nigerians in their great numbers have business acumen that can change the state of poverty and unemployment in the country but we are being limited by fears, bad information and the lack of can-do spirit. Many have found their feat today leaving paid jobs to pursue their passion. It pays to try something on the side of a steady income job as you might be threading the path of new discovery that will change your fate and so many other persons’ for the better. If you are contented and happy being an employee today, it might shock you that you will be job hunting again next month as most companies in the country are downsizing in mass as a result of unfavorable business situations and environment.

There are numerous human needs that need to be filled profitably. These needs exist around us in the form of services and products. If you find graphic designing interesting and you have what it takes to create and innovate then you should give it a try. What about the ability to bring people together to have fun or learn? You might be surprise where this leads you. And the big guys around now are the ones creating technologies that make tasks easier, making our home more comfortable or making travelling easier/safer and making most of our great decisions easier by the click of button. What are you waiting for if you have what it takes?

It is obvious we are holding back some breakthrough and success by not trying out our hands on something profitable while working/schooling or even jobless. Like I earlier stated, it might be our gateway to new discoveries or a way out of a frustrating job, prevention against the trauma of sudden loss of job or prolong unemployment. It will require a lot of thinking as great ideas are outputs of great thinking leading to financial success and social recognition. A salary earner or a student can add a business on the side to enable him/her achieve more financial freedom. While Tara Durotoye, Toyin Lawani and the founders of Jobberman founded their companies while schooling here in Nigeria, Adenah Bayoh was a Liberian who became a refugee in the U.S.A at a very tender age but with her dedication and hard work she saw herself through high school and college while working many jobs. She landed a banking job after finishing school and she began her investment in real estate by buying houses from her savings while working. She eventually resigned to face her businesses and also got franchise from International House of Pancake (IHOP) to operate in Irvington and Peterson. Adenah is a highly successful entrepreneur with many awards/recognition who now speaks at various gatherings including that of women and students.

RomanceGuys, Here Are 7 Signs That Indicates She Is Approachable by magazineguy(op): 8:33pm On May 01, 2017
Guys always seem ready to approach girls even when they don’t appear the least bit interested. There are so many signs and behaviors that for guys aren’t obvious concerning female interest in them. So I’m going to shed some light. Here are a few hints to let you know she’s approachable.

Lingering Stares.

Eye contact is a very intimate thing. Girls typically only stare at guys when they’re interested. If she locks your gaze a few times them you’re in the clear. She’s definitely waiting for you to approach.

When she’s having a good time.

When a girl is noticeably having a good time with her friends and laughing genuinely, that’s a good sign she’s approachable. She’ll be in a good mood so she’ll definitely be more receptive towards you.

Groups of three are best approachable.

Most people think that when a girl is alone then that’s an invitation to talk to her. This perception is totally wrong because girls rarely go out on their own so if she’s alone, chances are she’s waiting to meet up with someone. Groups of two are also not advisable to approach as one girl won’t leave her friend hanging to talk to you. It’s best to approach a group of three so that way if you engage in a conversation with one girl, the other two still have each other.

Spot the third wheel.

A third wheel is basically any group of two girls and one guy where the guy is flirting or paying more attention to one girl than the other. No girl wants to feel like the third wheel. Even if she isn’t single at that particular time, she’ll definitely be more receptive to your advances.

Notice what she’s wearing.

The way a girl is dressed says a lot about the kind of guy she is interested in, if she’s wearing a dress with a pair of heels chances are she’s looking for a guy in a suit. But if she’s dressed all casual and you are too, then your chances are automatically higher. You can’t really wear shorts and a polo shirt and approach a girl in a tight red dress and 6 inches heels.

When she’s playing with her hair.

Girls often play or just generally touch their hair. It’s something we do automatically and it’s a biological function to attract others.

Physical contact.

If a girl touches your arm, cloth or rests her arm on you, that’s definitely a sign that she’s interested. Most times girls aren’t comfortable with physical proximity so when they are, it shows openness and it’s a sign that they are approachable.

HealthThe 5 Stages Of Sleep by magazineguy(op): 8:03pm On May 01, 2017
We all know the benefits of sleeping right and even if we don’t know in detail the impact of lack of sleep on us, we sure as hell know that grumpy, foggy, irritating feeling we get when we don’t get enough rest.

The thing is, just like a car needs refueling or like plants need water to grow, we need rest. As adults, we need at least 7-9 hours of sleep every night for physiological and psychological healing to occur.

There are two general stages of sleep, the NREM (non-rapid eye movement) and the REM (rapid eye movement). The NREM further has four stages:

Stage 1 NREM-sleep is of very light quality, which means that during this stage, we can be easily awakened. It usually lasts about 10 minutes. Then there’s Stage 2 NREM; here, the sleep is still fairly light. Fifty percent of normal adult sleep may be spent in stage 2. After an initial 20 minutes or so of stage 2 sleep, a deep form of sleep called stage 3 to 4 is entered. Stage 3 refers to medium-depth sleep, and Stage 4 signals the deepest sleep. Stage 3 to 4 is where most sleep-walking, sleep-talking and night terrors occur.

After an initial 90 minutes or so of NREM-sleep, we enter the rapid eye movement, or REM-sleep. Dreams occur 80% of the time we are in REM-sleep. Unlike stage 3 to 4 sleep, which is most abundant during the early portion of a sleep period, REM-sleep periods become longer as the night progresses and we become more rested.

When we enter stage 3 and 4 sleep, our body secretes growth hormone which is necessary for physical growth in children but in adults, it repairs our broken skin and builds our muscles. During the day, the sun causes a lot of damage to our skin but when we sleep right, our body repairs the damages and we wake up with a glow! But when we don’t get enough rest over a long period of time (chronic deprivation), our skin begins to age, our under eyes get permanently dark and we develop fine lines and lackluster skin. Lack of sleep also causes our body to release stress hormone which breaks the collagen in our skin and our skin then loses its shine and elasticity.

Lack of sleep also affects your sex life! Bet you didn’t know that now did you? Well, chronic sleep deprivation can lower the testosterone levels (the sex drive hormone) in both men and women and this disturbance in hormone level can totally destroy your mojo!

Lastly, lack of sleep reduces our concentration level. It messes with our alertness and reasoning, a sour sleep cycles plays a role in fusing memories in the mind. So when we don’t sleep, we are unable to remember what we learnt the previous day. It makes our memories cloudy and we tend to get confused easily.

We all have a habit of staying up late watching movies, doing schoolwork or office work and the likes but the fact is, when we don’t get enough sleep, not only will it affect our energy level the next day making us less productive, but it will also affect our physical appearance. I don’t know about you but I would like to look healthy and have awesome skin so yeah I’m definitely sleeping early from now on!

You should try sleeping early too and notice the difference.

Politics"Buhari Is The President We Need For Now" - Debola Lagos by magazineguy(op): 8:31am On May 01, 2017
Towards the build of the 2015 presidential election, Rotimi Ameachi who happened to be the DG of Buhari/APC campaign team contracted two young men to handle Buhari's image and online campaign, in an interview with one them - Adebola Williams popularly Known as Debola Lagos, he explained why they took up the job amongst other things. See excerpts below:

Why did you stop the YMagazine print versions?

The challenges of print are a lot, there’s a big distributorship cabal in Nigeria. When you go online, you’re able to track your followers, there’s a higher revenue opportunity, and it’s free among other things. So for now, we’ve turned the print magazine into a special for different occasions.

* Are there other partners in Red Media?

No, it’s just me and Mr. Chude Jideonwo

* On the flip side, what interests you socially?

I like to be around people, I’m also adventurous. I like skydiving, kayaking and jet skiing. My last vacation was in 2013 – the company literally sent me on vacation.

* Top 5 things you can’t do without?

My telephone, internet, bible, fuel and people; I always need people because I think better and solve problems when I’m talking to people.

* Do you have any philanthropic involvements/projects?

I’m not involved with any charity organization at the moment but I always support people in need who come to me.

* Any predictions for Buhari’s presidency?

I won’t predict anything but I supported his campaign from the very beginning because I believe he’s out for a cleansing of the nation which is exactly what we need. I believe that due to his age and experience he has less people to want to favour, less reason to condone corruption and the respect of the people and I think he’ll be able to achieve that.

* Don’t you think it’s conflicting that Red Media which is primarily focused on the youth handled Buhari’s campaign who is aged 72?

I think Buhari to be a leader for the moment. Sometimes we need to made tough choices for the greater good. At this time Nigeria needs a “John the Baptist” to lead us out of our present conundrum and Buhari is the right man for the job. We’re dealing with an older generation of people who have controlled this country for years and we need someone of their age whom they fear. Buhari has a huge fanbase, military respect and strategic alliances Nigeria needs.

In 5 years Red Media would have…?

In 5 years we’ll be in a number of other African countries. We also have some other plans.

HealthFive Things Everyone Should Do Before Bed by magazineguy(op): 9:10pm On Apr 12, 2017
When it’s getting late, sometimes all you want to do is watch some TV and go to bed. But that’s not what you should do- or at least, not all you should do.

How well you sleep that night, and how stressed out or productive you are the following day, will partly depend on what you do that evening. By taking a little bit of time to prep yourself for the next day, you can set yourself up to get a good night’s sleep and make the next day a big win for you.

1. Create a to-do list for the next day

As I mentioned in my last article, it’s easy to waste a lot of time milling around and figuring out what you need to do. Have a to-do list, or even a schedule, goes a long way towards cutting this out and helping you get straight to work.

Every evening, before you forget about “work” and start winding down, put together your to-do list for the next day, including your ONE most important task. The work gets done more easily when you know what you need to do.

2. Clean up your room

Take ten minutes to clean up before you start getting ready for bed. Throw away the trash. Tidy up your bedroom and work-space. Give the kitchen counter a quick wipe-down. Put everything where it belongs.

By doing this in the evening, you ensure that you won’t have to do it in the morning. With a clean home, you’ll feel less stressed out, and you’ll have one less little chore distracting you from the bigger tasks you need to complete that day, or standing in the way of your morning routine.

3. Pick out your clothes for the next day

Steve Jobs famously wore the same clothes every day in order to cut down on the number of decisions he needed to make. You don’t have to go that far, but it certainly does help if you don’t need to spend time and mental energy picking out your clothes the next morning.

Instead, pick them out the night before, and set the clothes you’ve chosen where you can quickly grab them and put them on first thing in the morning.

4. Block all light out of your bedroom

Even the smallest amount of light can limit your ability to enter deep sleep. The darker your bedroom, the faster you’ll get to sleep, and the more restful your sleep will be. A dark bedroom thus allows you to sleep “faster” and more efficiently.

Use a blackout curtain to cover the window. Unplug or cover up any artificial lights emanating from within the bedroom, even if it’s just a tiny running light on your computer or alarm clock. And if, after al that, there’s still a noticeable amount of light in your bedroom, wear a sleep mask.

5. Use mental overwriting to prevent racing thoughts

Racing thoughts, particularly anxious thoughts about things going on in your life, can stop you from falling asleep. You can prevent these thoughts from getting into your head in the first place by giving your mind something else to occupy it.

The specifics vary between people. Some people listen to music before bed, and find themselves hearing that music in their head as they go to sleep. Others play Tetris, and their thoughts are filled with falling, colored blocks as they fall asleep. Still others read a book, and their last thought before bed is of the story and characters from that book.

So find the type of thing that tends to stick in your mind- sights, sounds, or imagined events- and use that to occupy your mind before bed, so that anxious thoughts can’t get in the way of a good night’s sleep.

RomanceWhy Teenage Relationships Is A Waste Of Time. by magazineguy(op): 9:33pm On Apr 11, 2017
Last night I was listening to a radio program about love and sex and a 16 year old girl called in. She complained about how her romantic relationship with a boy of 18 years was not working and how she was confused. She said the boy in question has a female bestie but the female bestie told her in confidence that they were dating. When she confronted her boyfriend (the 18 year old boy), he denied it. Obviously!

So I wondered. Why would a 16 year old girl who is still getting to know the wonders of puberty put herself in a heart-wrenching situation that adults who have mastered the art of self control find difficult to survive? Then I remembered.Their hormones are as active as those of the adults, sometimes even more active, sending mixed feelings that they hardly understand.

These young lads have committed no offense. They are absolutely innocent. What they feel in their bodies is not of their making. But should they act on it? I think they need a lot of coaching and advice from their parents especially.

Teenage relationship is like the wind, nothing comes out of it. Someone once told me that as long as you’re between 15-19 ,you have no particular boyfriend or girlfriend. You just date around. Crazy!!! To a large extent though that appears to be true.

Teenage relationship is staying up late at night and barely staying awake the next day in class. It is passing each other between classes and stopping to say hi but ending up running to your next class right before the bell rings. It is going to the mall, wandering around hand in hand, with a silence that is beautiful. It is watching a movie in the cinema with his arm slowly creeping onto your shoulders, and you resting in his arms. It’s walking around at night for no reason at all, his chest, her head looking at the stars. It’s uncertainty of how long it will last, a risk you’re both willing to take, even if it means you’ll have a broken heart. It’s not yet true love, not like nor lust, not infatuation. It’s teenage love, unfortunately, here to stay, here to play with teenage hearts and never go away.

Teenage love is like the wind, nothing comes out of it. Only heartbreaks, tears, regrets. It is filled with uncertainties and teenagers should flee from it.

CelebritiesRe: One Single Thing Wizkid Needs To Learn From Davido !!!! by magazineguy(m): 8:58am On Apr 08, 2017
It is quite obvious OP doesn't know what evolving music is. Wiz keeps evolving since the days of Holla at your boy and that's why we keep loving every time.

Every international joint Wiz has done, there is always an afrobeat feel which makes the song even more interesting.

Wiz is not your average artist, I mean not even your good artiste. Wiz is a maestro when it comes to music.

To the guy who said Wiz is not doing shows, do you know why? I called Sunday Are recently and he said Wiz isn't doing shows for now apparently they have plans structured out.

Wiz is in the global eyes, if you watch and listen to Come Closer video then you would know that Wiz has magic when it comes to music.

As far I am concerned, that video is a standard international video. Wiz is not losing, Davido isn't losing either.

Let niggas be great!!!
Health4 Ways To Apply Honey On Your Face For Effective Results by magazineguy(op): 10:48am On Apr 04, 2017
Everyday we see girls on TV and Instagram with such amazing flawless faces and we wonder why our faces can’t be smooth. Well, the solution to a flawless face has been sitting in front of us this entire time. Honey! Yes, just pure natural honey! Not only does it taste absolutely amazing but it can help us get that glow we so badly want.

Raw honey is wonderful for our skin due to the following properties it possess;

It has antibacterial properties which helps in the prevention and treatment of acne.

It has an organic acid known as Gluconic acid which quickens shedding of dead skin cells hence leaving our face with an amazing glow.

It’s hygroscopic which means it can readily take and retain water from the atmosphere so when your skin is dry, honey can help absorb water from the atmosphere and remain moist. But it shouldn’t be used in dry weather as it can remove the moisture from your skin.

It possess a lot of antioxidants that remove free radicals. These free radicals are produced in the skin when you come in contact with dust, or stress, lack of sleep and especially the sun. These free radicals damage our skin and honey can help us get rid of them and repair our skin.

Well now that I’ve told you the benefits of honey for your skin here’s how to properly use it to treat your face.

Face Mask

First wash your face with normal soap to remove the surface dust and other types of dirt, then apply some honey sparingly to your face and leave for about 15-20 minutes. Your face will get stiff and that’s how you know it’s working. When it’s time, rinse off with lukewarm water and tap dry. Then moisturize with your normal moisturizer.

Acne Treatment

As stated earlier in this article honey has antibacterial properties. It also has anti-inflammatory properties that can reduce the swelling of pimples. Dab raw honey on the affected area or areas and let it sit for 15-20 minutes then rinse off. If you can, apply with a cotton swab and let it sit overnight and you will wake up and notice the difference.

Scars Fading

Honey is known to lighten skin; its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties helps to greatly reduce the presence of scars and also help repair skin. Mix a teaspoon with one teaspoon of coconut or olive oil, apply to the affected area in a circular motion for one or two minutes. Then place a hot washcloth on your skin and let it sit until it cools. Do this daily for faster result. Olive oil also has a lot of antioxidants as well as vitamin E which has anti-aging properties. This is very helpful especially because in our country we are always exposed to the harsh sun.

Honey Exfoliator

You can exfoliate your skin once or twice a week with a gentle scrub made with two teaspoons of honey and one teaspoon baking soda. Baking soda offers light exfoliation to the skin while honey soothes and smoothens the skin.

Remember when treating your face, use raw honey as it still contains all its natural properties. Processed honey does not contain most of its properties.

So start your honey treatment today and get that glow you want.

RomanceRe: #keepthechangebae And The Need TO Educate Men by magazineguy(op): 2:57pm On Apr 03, 2017
But i feel there is a need to actually teach our age group - i mean the youths, which has more numbers over other age groups. Our sons and daughters would only learn from us

LeView1:
Very valid points but our best bet is to educate our sons and daughters because you can't teach an old dog new tricks. Then we just wait for the diseased minds to die and our children will continue the new social norms and values we've put in place.

Romance#keepthechangebae And The Need TO Educate Men by magazineguy(op): 2:39pm On Apr 03, 2017
Sometime last year, I had a conversation with a friend. This conversation was one which I had written off at the time as I did not think there was any basis for this happening. This friend of mine, had expressed his displeasure at the way attention was being drawn to the female child so much so that he thought that a time would come when there would be an imbalance in the way men were allowed to voice issues that related to them. He had also gone on to say that there were a lot of issues which related to the men but nobody was listening to them because we had succeeded in painting the female as a sort of weak being needing some sort of rescue. Like I said earlier, I did not agree with him at the time.

But over the past few months, I have watched closely the two genders and I would say that I begin to see what he sees. There is so much emphasis and teachings being given to the females in respect to becoming better people and breaking free from societal norms but none of these teachings are given to the men. The society is supposed to be made of men and women. The society is not a thing that can be touched or felt. The society is you and I. So if we say that we are fighting for feminism, gender equality, isn’t it right that we also educate the men on why and how they are meant to act and behave in an ideal society?

There is gross imbalance with the way these teachings go. A woman on Twitter pointed out recently that out of all the people who always approached her for help with investing in their businesses, only the women were most courteous, only the women approached you with a level of preparedness, the men on the other hand, behaved as though it were their right for her to give them money. Reading her thread of tweets, it hit me. We aren’t doing enough educating just women, men also need this education. Most Twitter users must have seen the hashtag #KeepTheChangeBae. Which was another case of the entitlement mentality played out by on of our very own never disappointing males.

When we keep mentioning the society is behind these ills, it makes the problem seem ambiguous as though correcting it would take a century. We need to identify the reason for this mindset which constantly undermines women in the society identify the perpetrators and attack the problem at its root by educating the persons involved….the men and a couple of women who have accepted the situation in a case of learned helplessness. Until then, the scramble for feminism would make no sense and would seem as though it is the hatred of men.

Webmasters10 Of The Biggest Cybersecurity Threats To Watch For In 2017 by magazineguy(op): 8:52am On Apr 01, 2017
One of the greatest challenges in the digital landscape is security. New technologies enter the market on a regular basis, bringing with them unforeseen weaknesses that can easily translate into data breaches or similar threats, which result in an average $4 million setback for businesses. Because remedying these issues is vital, companies that can deliver cybersecurity solutions will thrive.

Cybersecurity efforts to safeguard against increasingly sophisticated hackers and other cybercriminals grow more and more complex each year. In 2016, innovation drove record-setting levels of cybercrimes, leading to the coining of the term hacktivism. Based on careful analysis of these issues, leaders in the digital space predict the following security trends for 2017:

1. Cross-industry collaboration will grow.

The growing need for greater security capacities will necessitate collaboration across all areas of society, including businesses, government agencies, and academia. By sharing their ideas and concerns, organizations in these sectors will boost their strength and efficiency as they tackle security issues from a variety of standpoints. High-performance computing and machine-learning adaptability hold the most potential for helping these joint forces preempt cyber-attacks.

2. Ransomware will present a greater threat.

Ransomware is software that infects a digital device or system, locking it down until the user meets the cybercriminal’s monetary demand. In the past, people used this malicious approach to target a single individual or company. However, advances in technology might soon enable ransomware to affect hundreds of victims in a surprisingly small amount of time. This has led some to believe that ransomware attacks could multiply by 25 percent in 2017.

3. IoT will be a bigger target for hackers.

When the Internet of things (IoT) first hit the market, developers and industry leaders anticipated security threats in one form or another. This concern remained largely a matter of conversation until the 2016 Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack on Dyn. Cybersecurity is now a pressing reality for IoT — one that will likely expand this year.

4. Internal attacks will outpace perimeter ones.

Businesses and organizations have built up strong defenses against external attacks, but in doing so, they have left internal points of access vulnerable. As a result, hackers are finding ever-more advanced ways to enter systems with credentials that appear legitimate. As a result, hackers can gain access to data and target individuals in a way that makes them appear to be a coworker or supervisor of that person.

5. Mobile security threats will continue to increase.

In connection with IoT-related threats, mobile devices, especially those owned by individuals of influence and wealth, will become even more vulnerable. Estimates project that roughly 4 percent of all devices have already contracted malware. This doesn’t just affect the user of the device, it also impacts his or her employer, given the prevalence of company phones and tablets in the workplace and the general lack of safety protocols regarding their use.

6. Chip-enabled cards will shift fraud dynamics.

The development of credit and debit cards with chips for cybersecurity have, in one way, achieved their purpose. Fewer and fewer instances of fraud occur at the point of sale. However, hackers have redirected their attention from card cloning to creating fraudulent accounts by means of identity theft. This illegal activity may become a $20 billion industry by 2018.

7. Hacktivism will continue to spread.

The act of breaking into a computer system to further one’s political agenda is called hacktivism. One recent example of this activity is the hack of the Democratic National Committee. From now on, businesses and organizations that openly sponsor or endorse controversial social issues will not be the only ones at risk for these threats in the future. Neutral entities must also take certain safety measures, especially as many attacks will likely take place on a smaller scale than the hack of the DNC.

8. Hacking tools will be more accessible than ever.

One of the driving forces behind the need to step up cybersecurity protection is the simple fact that hackers can pick up the trade with little-to-no experience. In fact, many individuals who purchase tools for breaking into systems have no idea how they actually work, only that they do. Such off-the-shelf approaches present an expanding threat to businesses, which also ironically face shortages in qualified IT personnel.

9. Cyber insurance will gain value.

As companies develop heightened security strategies in 2017, cyber insurance will undoubtedly figure in to many plans. Insurance for cyber-attacks will help offset the costs of repairing reputations with customers and enable them to recoup the revenue losses from the negative media that usually accompanies such misfortunes. Importantly, companies that insure others will have to provide custom coverage plans to meet their clients’ specific needs.

10. Businesses will invest proactively in cybersecurity.

Network and data security will be paramount in 2017, and companies will likely dramatically expand their spending in these areas. IT departments will bolster their efforts in every imaginable way, including increased video surveillance. Further, the position of chief cybercrime officer, or CCO, will grow more widely recognized.

It has been uncovered that adding certain foods to your day while nixing others can slim you.

Chewy Foods – lean meat, nuts, whole fruits and vegetables

These calories make your body work right off the track. To maximize the chopping factor, make sure the food is in its most whole state – a tuna steak instead of canned tuna, apples instead of applesauce.

Hearty Foods – fruits, vegetables, whole grains and cereals

These hearty foods are filled with fibre. They take up more room in the belly (compared with other foods of the same number of calories), and leave less room for second rounds.

Energizing foods – Coffee, black and green tea, dark chocolate

It is also possible to get metabolism-boosting caffeine in coffee and black tea; do not load it up with milk, cream or sugar. It is advisable to stick to one to avoid complications.
