HealthWhy Sleep Deprivation Is Dangerous To Your Health by magazineguy(op): 7:07pm On Apr 23, 2018
Whether one’s physical or economic activities are involved or not, the need for sleep cannot be over-accentuated. For one of the reasons that it is necessary to living a healthy life, sleep also plays a role in the balance to a mental health. I can also tell you that having to work late into the night is not encouraging for a good sleep pattern. A deficiency in sleep is known as ‘sleep deprivation’. Sleep deprivation can be acute or chronic condition. Now, this is especially dangerous: Chronically sleep-deprived people do not realize that they are working at a deteriorated level. In a circumstance that entails survival, it is likely you imagine the many diverse reasons why you might suffer from inadequate sleep such as strange environments, rise in responsibilities, tiredness from activities and accumulation from previous stress will combine to largely soar the prevalence of this medical issue.

Sleep deprivation can pose a threat to the brain function. There are noticeable negative effects on awakening and performance which are very likely due to a drop in activity in selective parts of the brain associated in advanced thought processes. Thus, you may become incapable of placing events into their proper perspective and taking the right measure. This questions one’s addition to a survival group. This transpires to reason that a good number of car accidents and workplace hazards are caused by lack of sleep. When you do not sleep for the right number of hours, recovery is delayed and the increased amount of muscle passivity leads to the corresponding value of physical injury.

Besides the repercussions of the events occurring in the brain, the failure to get 7-8 hours of sleep every night causes many signs and symptoms as named below:

Depression
Irritability
Puffy/bloodshot eyes
Tremor
Headaches
Disarray
Memory loss
Muscle aches
Hallucinations
Micro sleeps
Negative feedback to the control of Diabetes and blood pressure
Weight loss or gain
Other psychotic symptoms
The lack of significant sleep aggravates mood and decreases intellectual ability. Deep sleep is also necessary to allow natural enzymes to restore damage caused by ‘free radicals’ i.e. molecules amenable for aging and tissue damage.

The remedy of sleep deprivation depends on the cause. The best start is to consider a concept referred to as ‘sleep hygiene’. Sleep hygiene is improving the behavior to maximize the amount of restful sleep one gets.

You should consider:

Sticking to a standard bedtime (and even wakeup time)
Making your environment as comfortable as possible.
Avoiding Nicotine (i.e. tobacco, cigarettes), caffeine and alcohol before hitting the sheets.
Exercising regularly, but not before going to bed.
Eliminating as much light as possible in the room at bedtime.
Clearing the mind of worrisome thoughts at night.
Staying away from heavy foods for at least 2 hours before going to bed.

Fashion5 Truths About Pattern On Pattern Dress Co-ordination by magazineguy(op): 11:06am On Apr 18, 2018
Pattern on pattern is very possible and is being worn these days so ignore the saying of it is wrong because time has evolved and people are being very creative with their style. l love me some pattern on pattern any day anytime although most of us just started getting used to it and many do not know how to properly combine it and the result is destruction or you simply look like a clown in a circus. There are different types of patterns from stripes to checks, Houndstooth; these are known as micro- check, they are broken or ‘tessellated’ check. Polka Dots,

1. If you chose to do pattern on pattern, make sure the colour combination matches, everyone has a colour preference or what feels good in their eyes but check colour combination before putting the clothes on.

2. Direction is very important for example, horizontal stripe T-shirt under a vertical stripe shirt or if your top pattern is going sideways and quite busy, you can wear a trouser or shirt that is downwards and less busy. The idea is to create a balance.

3. Layering can be implored, this means when your top and skirt or trouser is busy, you can cool it off with a plain jacket or shirt, so as to reduce the noise in the outfit

4. Never do more than two pieces of clothing that have pattern, for example shirt, trouser, shoe, bag all patterned, that is going to be so noisy you would be compared to being a masquerade or clown. Do few pieces at a time and stand out.

5. The fit of the cloths matter a lot in pattern. If you are going to wear a loose floral top, you can pair with a fitted trouser or skirt. Baggy on baggy will make one look homeless and not put together. It’s a thumb up look, before you assemble your outfit; think of where you are going to, texture of outfit, style, fit, colour and fit. Be bold because this mode of dressing is not for the faint heated or shy people. Wear it with class and be sure to have a wonderful day.

SportsHow Will Super Eagles Make It Out Of World Cup D-death? by magazineguy(op): 9:24am On Apr 17, 2018
For the fifth time in six World cup tournaments, Nigeria has been drawn against Argentina in the group stage. Remember that in the past, the Super Eagles have lost all four previous encounters with the La Albiceleste – 1994, 2002, 2010 and 2014 – all by small margins.

Although, they really showed a strong character and good team spirit by coming from behind to beat the Argentines 4-2 in a friendly in November, 2017. It will require a similar or more performance to get the same result at the World Cup.

Leaving impudent foes aside, the Super Eagles will face new opposition in Croatia and Iceland; the opening game being a first meeting against Croatia.

Argentina struggled to qualify, having to decide their place in Russia by a play-off. This will not matter as they will be favorites to qualify from the group, leaving the second place open for competition among the three other countries.

It is of worthy note to know that this group is not the best group the Super Eagles could have fallen into, it is certainly not the worst.

How far can we go with the current team?

Although, the draws cannot be used as a yardstick for qualification. This is commensurate with the idea that anything could be possible in football. The opposition could be devoid of form, fitness and athletic motivation. The FIFA ranking is also an obscure measure to rate National teams. However, Rohr’s team should be eyeing to go beyond the best feat made by an African side at a FIFA World Cup. Senegal and Ghana currently hold that wreath as they reached the last eight in 2010 and 2002 World Cups respectively.

In the win against Argentina, Rohr made use of a strange 3-5-2 formation which the players were lithy to adapt to. This would make the players unpredictable by opposition teams. It would also give the coach a new dimension in trying different players. In that game, we saw Kelechi Iheanacho being deployed as a front man.

Furthermore, another key substance the team currently possesses is the commitment and skill to excel irrespective of their opposition.

Gernot Rohr’s reign

The Franco-German veteran was appointed in August 2016 and he immediately set out to repair the damages done by the last tenure of Sunday Oliseh, a mission was deemed impossible by many insiders in the Glass House and football lovers. Step by step; he was able to redeem the battered image of the Super Eagles.

This he did as he steered Nigeria through its World Cup qualifying campaign unbeaten and against of all the odds thrown at him, even with the scary draws.

Throughout the qualifiers, Rohr employed a course of inviting players based on merit alongside mixing and blending youth with experience.

He made sure he reduced the average age of the squad to just less than or a bit above 25 years, with the team playing with so much power, pace and precision in their games.

Mikel Obi, Leon Balogun and Victor Moses have all been key players in the team as they have brought a level of experience and drive to enhance the chances of the team.

Kelechi Iheanacho and Alexander Iwobi

Both have been tipped as the future of the Super Eagles by pundits both at home and the International scene. The skill and steady rise of Nigeria’s youthful vibe will be a key to plummeting the team to Eagle’s soar in Russia, as long as they maintain a fantastic form by getting adequate game time prior to the tournament. The duo’s bromance is another added advantage the team has.

CareerHow To Give Constructive Criticism Without Being Inconsiderate by magazineguy(op): 8:45am On Apr 13, 2018
In one way or the other, either personal or professional life you will have to share your feedback considering people’s actions and how you feel they should have better handled those situations. Mastering the art is important to dealing with people. It shows that you care about their feelings, want them to improve and want the best out of certain situations.

Here are healthy steps to take to give constructive situations.

Compliments

Appreciate the individuals efforts to the situation then address areas you feel they fell short in and where you feel they could have done better. Using this method, the person recognizes the fact that you appreciate their effort and will be motivated to do better.

Focus on the situation and not the person

Focus on the situations the person is possibly able to find difficulty and address the issue of how they can turn the tables to favour them. For instance, you realize Temi in accounts has a problem with public speaking. You can advice that, it would be better to gather her words, understand the situation and use a story to lead. People are drawn to stories. If Temi is able to address an audience using personal experiences, she is able to win the crowd and be less tense.

Know When To Share Your Big Ideas

Now you have listened to Temi’s horrible presentation speech. So when and how do you tell her how poorly she did?

Knowing the time to address situations is key. Some people address issues they are not fine with immediately and some with time – when the iron is hot. The best possible time to talk to someone is minutes after. This is a time when they are settled and in a mind space where they are willing to receive and not defend their actions.

Using stories

In most situations, the best way to help someone be better is to share relatable stories of others. People are able to listen more and take criticisms when other peoples stories of defeat and conquer are shared with them.

Be More Positive

Let your feedback be filled will positivity. This leaves the individual with a stint of hope and a motive to do better.

Positive statements like this ; ‘I love how assertive you are but you should also be able to be open to the opinion of others.’ encourage people to do better.

Fashion6 Important Steps Involved In Grooming Your Beards by magazineguy(op): 5:31pm On Apr 11, 2018
Beard gang get in here because this one is for you. Men do not have so many things to take care of with their money, but one thing they are most conscious about is their hair and beards. Did somebody say enjoyment? Yes because ladies tend to do all the work from head to toe, at least that is what we all think until now.

There are certain simple or if you like not so simple steps on how a man should take care of his beards, as well as products to use; all these are in the beard kit. Every man should have a beard kit. Let’s be honest some men have some not so good looking beards with bumps in there and this can be a turn off to anybody especially the opposite sex, because we believe a man should have trimmed, neat and tidy beards and lets add that smells good. This isn’t rocket science but simple things men need to have and follow and it will keep them looking like a classy man. Bear in mind to use products that will suit your skin.

There are 6 simple steps in getting that beard as groomed as beautiful as it should be;

BEARD COMB

The beard comb is an essential tool in the beard grooming kit and the first stage of the beard grooming process, it involves combing the beard hair in case of any dirt and to detangle the hair.

MIRROR

The mirror is a very essential tool in the beard box, as you can check yourself out while shaving, or if you are in the shower, you can use the shower mirror.

BEARD TRIMMER

This is super essential when it comes to beard grooming, it is a machine that has sharp edges used to trim off beard hair to any style of your choice, bear in mind that this can be done with any type of shaving cream that is good for your skin.

SCISSORS

The scissors is used to trim excess hair that is left after the beard trimmer has been used. Bear in mind that if at all you would like to make up your own beard kit, make sure you use the appropriate scissors meant for the beards.

BEARD WASH

This is not so common but it is used by men who want their beard to feel smooth, clean, soft, lustrous, hydrated and moisturized. It is good to wash away dirt and sweat from the beard once in a while.

BEARD OIL & BALM

This is the final stage of the beard grooming process. Some people choose the beard oil or the balm depending on preference. The beard oil is oil used to rub on the beards after the whole process while some might prefer the beard balm as it is a thick cream used to sooth the beard from any irritation. Try this simple step and get that business deal because looking good is good business.

CelebritiesOPINION: Brymo Is Not Regular! by magazineguy(op): 8:18am On Apr 10, 2018
Olumo! The rock that stood when others went down, the one that stood despite the cold treatment thrown on him Industry’s big guns.

Ibrahim Olawale popularly known as Brymo is not your favourite Artist when it comes to releasing party melodies. As a matter of fact, his best record ever “Ara” is still being played even in his new base in diaspora. Though, the former Chocolate City signee has not been in chit-chat mood with his former partner, Jude Abaga. Recent evidences on social media show they might be trying to put the axe on their rift very soon. Brymo’s prowess in the booth cannot be over emphasized as shown in the quality of his vocals, lyrics and most important of all – his creativity.

I think a major reason for Brymo’s recent fame and growth was his infamous exit from Chocolate City. A regrettable move which made him crawl behind M.I, Jesse Jagz and Ice Prince years back. One of the turmoil he went through in Chocolate City was the decision to make the unconventional man make pop music, a genre which he did not fancy. As the events unfolded, it was imminent Ibrahim was being pushed towards the exit door.

Brymo’s decision to make socially-conscious music put him in the ranks of artistes like Fela, Femi Kuti and other unique singers; most of his songs have been activistic and freedom fighting inclined another reason to love the man behind the body of work ‘OSO’, his latest offering.

From his ‘Heya’ visuals, a song on the project, Brymo was seen unclad. The only invisible body part covered was probably his penis, covered with a replica of G-String. The same man performed with pants sometimes ago. The other artist to have done that was Burna Boy at the annual ‘Felabration’ event, in memory of Fela Anikulapo Kuti. The video got people talking, especially on social media. It could be a strategy and of course, it worked for him. I really care less unless Brymo stops singing.

In my opinion, Brymo is not regular.

Literature#NoTo100k: Lamentations Of An Ibadan Damsel by magazineguy(op): 8:16am On Apr 09, 2018
You don’t know who I am, you don’t know how I really feel, I am bleeding my heart on this paper, I’m an orphan who was raised by an uncle who everyday will threaten me with the story of how one day in the nearest future I will pay back his every dime. Do you know how much of nightmares I have thinking of how unsecured my future is?

Anyways I got an opportunity to study Medicine, 40k yearly for me was like 30 billion in an artiste’s account, any time my fees are sent I’ll have to buy 1,000 naira recharge card to call and thank my uncle. You’ll be surprised to see me kneeling as I make calls to my uncle who will always end by saying he is doing this so I’ll pay him back in the future.

Now some cabals are deciding to increase the fee, because they feel they need to generate some funds to train me well, hmm… In the confused Dr Elaine’s voice, what is happening to thousands of so-called sub-standard Doctors that were trained here under the era of 15k, or maybe that’s why mortality rates keep increasing in Nigeria, maybe that’s why our name will remain evergreen amongst nations with the highest mortality.

How do you expect me to pay the ridiculous amount you’re demanding? Am I to start sleeping with all the sugar daddies lecturers of which some of you are because I want to pay my fees? When did Medicine become an article of ostentation? You want me to pay more in a world where I still have to go out every morning to look for water and carry buckets of water on my cheap braids and attachments.

It’s funny that the people who destroyed the system are the ones that are enjoying, you built a geriatrics centre for them which is almost free, why not triple their fees, their generation? Embezzled the money and I can tell you most of their kids are abroad, why not generate money from them.

It’s so funny that irrelevant statements such as ‘drop out if you don’t have the money’ can be made by a seemingly sane person, who are you to tell me to drop out. The only thing that should be dropped on your head is a knock to reset the brain of whoever made that statement.

You cancelled our exams – power tussle, there’s no point showing you’re boss. It’s pretty obvious, but let me tell you something you’re a boss today, you could be driven in an ambulance bus tomorrow; would you be happy if I mistake your testes for your heart, How will you feel if I use anti-hypertensive to treat your malaria?

Therefore I say #Noto100k, it’s inhumane, it’s unfair, I’m a Nigerian and I have every right to quality education, my poverty won’t define my altitude in life, I’ve pledged to serve my country, I’ll do it with every last drop of my blood.

#Noto100k

BusinessSix Ways To Sustain Your Motivation As An Entrepreneur by magazineguy(op): 7:41am On Apr 09, 2018
The ability to stay motivated as an entrepreneur is as tasking as staying hydrated in the scorching desert sun. It is an act of sustaining focus and drive while working towards achieving your goals amidst challenges and uncertainties. Entrepreneurs don’t succeed out of the knowledge or information they possess alone but mostly as a result of positive drive and motivation.

As rightly put by Roy T. Bennett he said “if you don’t give up on something you truly believe in, you will find a way”.

Motivation is what distinguishes entrepreneurs from people who have merely but dreams, “motivation will almost always beat mere talent” were the words of Norman Ralph Augustine that confirms successful entrepreneurs should strive to always maintain high level of motivation. Below are six ways to sustain your motivation as an entrepreneur:

See the big picture

If you can always picture what a great future looks like, your level of optimism will be high. Motivation sometimes comes with the end result of our goal, attaining societal status and wealth are what comes with success in entrepreneurship and the desire to attain these feats can help motivate you positively.

Keep a great team

In business, your team is a catalyst to how far you can go and how motivated you can be at every particular time. Group encouragement and hard work are the characteristics of a great team.

Take pride in your success

When you have reached a milestone, develop a sense of pride in the success achieved and work towards attaining higher heights.

Strive for excellence

Excellence is a source of motivation too, knowing that nobody or only a few people are better than you at what you do can also be a good source of motivation. In the words of Abraham Lincoln he said “whatever you are, be a good one”.

Keep stress at its lowest level

Stress depresses people and takes away their optimism, learn to relieve yourself of stress by finding ways to unwind or exercising regularly.

Mission is key to success

As rightly put by Zig Ziglar he said “outstanding people have one thing in common. An absolute sense mission.

Career5 Major Keys To Being The Perfect Boss by magazineguy(op): 10:36am On Apr 06, 2018
There is no bible or age rule-book that guides you to be a good boss. Management positions can be delegated by the number of years you have spent in a place or the kind of work you have contributed to an organisation. But a good boss is recognized by certain qualities. These qualities don’t just make him a stand up guy but a source of inspiration and aspiration to his subordinates.

Below are my top 5 qualities that make a perfect boss.

Listen

A good boss listens to what his team has to say because great ideas, insights and perspectives don’t just come from one place but from anywhere. Therefore, he is open to the contributions of other people. Most of the contributions given by his team might not be fully formed yet and that is where his years of experience or expertise comes in to play. To fine-tune these ideas and eventually make them better. Better still, make contributions to ideas raised than will encourage a good outcome.

Delegate wisely

The key to leadership success is to learn to effectively delegate both the responsibility for completing assignments and the authority required to get things done. Many bosses feel that they need to control every little thing that their employees do. If you feel they are not good enough, then why hire them? Entrust your team will the ability to bring out the best possible result. They will respect you for that.

Communicate

A lot of bosses have a problem with communication. Most times, it’s difficult for busy business owners and executives to keep their employees up-to-date on the latest organizational news. Regardless, you must make every effort to get employees the information they need to do their jobs quickly and efficiently. Communication keeps everyone in the loop of what’s going on, what needs to be done and how to go about it. Which leads to results.

Set goals

Every employee needs goals to strive for. Not only do goals give employees direction and purpose, but they ensure that your employees are working towards the overall organizational goals. Set specific and measurable goals with your employees, then regularly monitor their progress toward achieving them.

Recognize achievements

Every employee wants to do a good job. And when they do a good job, employees want recognition from their bosses. Unfortunately, few bosses do much in the way of recognizing and rewarding employees for a job well done. A kind word or gesture can go a long way in lifting the spirits of employees, that their work is recognized and appreciated.

Finally, running an organization is no small fit. Products and services must be sold and delivered, and money must be made. Despite the gravity of these responsibilities, leaders should endeavour to make their organizations fun places to work. Instead of having employees who look for every possible reason to call in sick or to arrive at work late or go home early, organizations that work hard and play hard end up with a more loyal and energized workforce.

Fashion5 Staple Sunglasses Shapes For Stylish Men by magazineguy(op): 1:15pm On Apr 04, 2018
You want to know who man’s best friend is? It is sunglasses. They are every stylish man’s companion and confidant, especially when they have to attend an event and make a statement. Sunglasses add that magic touch to the appearance, but a good pair makes all the difference, not just the price but the style, colour, shape and fitting. They have become an important fashion accessory in a stylish mans wardrobe as it is not only used in the sun but anywhere.

Let us look at some staple men sunglass shapes

Black Square Sunglass

https://i2.wp.com/tushmagazine.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/black-square-sunglass.jpg?resize=300%2C200

This sunglass is a man’s all-time favourite, as it captures the eyes of the viewer with its square frame; it is manly, bold, classy and strong. One designer that rocked this type of sunglasses is Rayban. Men had a pair of this in their wardrobe; it was sold everywhere so you had to beware of the fake ones. Another similar frame to this is Fendi black square sunglasses.

Aviator Sunglass

https://i0.wp.com/tushmagazine.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/IR82411.jpg?resize=300%2C141

This one is so common in every stylish man’s wardrobe; it has a slanting curve around the face usually touching the cheek. It is classy, and very stylish. Comes in different colours and always stand out from other shapes of sunglasses.

Wayfarer Sunglass

https://i2.wp.com/tushmagazine.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/Photo02_1200_bbb34c75-ae3c-4db0-b52f-4c46b58199c5.jpg?resize=300%2C300

These ones are semi square and round at the same time, it is classy, and for people that might not want the overly fierce look. Brands like Chloe and Ted baker have made this type of sunglasses.

Round Sunglass

https://i0.wp.com/tushmagazine.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/71p9EvIIwQL._UX679_.jpg?resize=300%2C166

This type of sunglasses is not commonly worn by men except extremely fashionable men. Round shape looks feminine yet can be masculine depending on the outfit it is styled with.

Wrap Around Sunglass

https://i0.wp.com/tushmagazine.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/51WknImlh5L._UX679_.jpg?resize=300%2C135

This is one oldie but a goodie; sunglasses that our fathers wore, it has created with small frames to wrap around the face in a tight manner. Its classy and daring but I would say for the older man.

CelebritiesKaffy – Still The Queen Of Dance In Nigeria? by magazineguy(op): 1:13pm On Apr 03, 2018
Although two Nigerian dancers, Pinki Debbie and Michael Bright Ifeanyi recently became global dance sensations, Nigeria had been put on the global dance map as far back as 2006, when Kafaya Oluwatoyin Shafau-Ameh aka Kaffy, led a group of Nigerians to break the Guinness world record for the longest dancing streak at the time. That singular feat earned her, her International repute but her preceding exploits got her the title of “African Dance Queen.”

While a new crop of dancers are starting to make global statements for the rich dance culture in Africa with their exploits, Kaffy’s 2006 feat was the eye-opener to the potential in the art of dance and its influence as a global tool. It is fair to say Kaffy cleared the path for the new crop of African dancers to course through to reach this point of global domination.

Just as the likes of 2baba and D’banj are revered for their ground-breaking charge on the global music frontier, Kaffy takes credit for leading the globalisation of the African dance culture in this present time. Her role in the growth of the dance culture and its relationship with the entertainment industry, particularly the music industry, remains unmatched.

In fact, the involvement of Kaffy in the Nigerian entertainment sphere is close to legendary, especially in the area of music videos where her involvement has become a myth, such that people often use the rhetoric, “which top artiste shoots a video without involving Kaffy?” Her repertoire includes several major dance projects such as The MTN Yello Show, Malta Guinness Street Dance Africa, MTV Base MAMA Awards Show and the likes.

In her 17 years experience as a professional dancer, Kaffy has executed enough successful dance projects to be referred to as a dance mogul. Her passion for dance and vision for the art to be recognised independently on the African continent, has led her to establish a dance school where she teaches the art and inspires younger African dancers to use it as a tool of reformation and motivation.

That Kaffy is the face of dance in Nigeria, is a no brainier and even arguably, in Africa. Her success as a dancer remains an inspiration to many who she has led to see the beauty in the art of dance and the enormous potential existing for those who have chosen to make it a way of life like it is for her, Queen Kaffy.

SportsLike It Or Not – Argentina And Barcelona Are Both Nothing Without Messi by magazineguy(op): 10:56am On Apr 02, 2018
The 6 goals to 1 defeat against Spain and without Messi, is a sign that Argentina’s hopes of a third Word cup rests totally on his shoulders.

Could it be the class of Spain or just a team being swept away by the storm? Could it be form or the casual attitude of some players towards friendly games? I don’t think so. It was a chance for Argentina to strengthen their idea of the game, to experiment different formations, to bond more. It all ended up in a horrible defeat, a catastrophic nightmare.

The 6-1 hammering of the Argentineans who were called up to test their ability and hopefully making the 23-man list for the World cup in June. They were also hoping to blend with Lionel unhappy – forlorn even- and their clueless manager, Jorge Sampaoli, and the rest of the world, are disappointment. Although, Messi did not play in Madrid or in the win against Italy.

Yes, Messi decided not to feature due to muscle fatigue. The match went ahead with an obvious reason that Messi will not be in the line-up. It was an opportunity to start newer players and check how a Messi-less Argentina would fare against bigger nations.

All analysis of formation and strategy or individual assessment of players ability seems futile. Those who spent time on the pitch were not even up to the absentees – Aguero, Di Maria and even the target of hatred, Higuain. The calm and thoughtful Mascherano showed signs that he is reaching the end of his International career.

It seems more than ever than Argentina is losing it and are punching weights above their power. More so, the toiling and charisma of pressmen and players suggests the urgent changes are long way off.

Jobs/Vacancies8 Reasons To Reject A Job Offer by magazineguy(op): 10:42am On Mar 30, 2018
It is true that there are no jobs, the market is stiff and the pay might not be what you expected. But the truth is that there are companies, both established and startups, that are aggressively in need of experienced hands to work with. Then again, it is not all organizations that have your best interest at heart. Some are majorly time wasters.

Here are tips to avoid being caught in the bad job/situation mess at.

– Walk away if they won’t tell you what the job pays. Most times they want to see how desperate how you are for a job. Are you willing to take anything? How low are you willing to grovel for an offer? If they expect you to wait for an offer before you know whether or not the salary will work for you, then that job is not right for you.

– If they have no regard or courtesy towards your time spent on interviews. They expect you to show up for interviews at their own time and request without considering if the time allocated works in your favour or not. Just walk away. If they treat you that way without offering you a job, be rest assured you will be treated worse when you resume.

– If there is no clarity concerning work related questions you asked, then they are being shady with the work they do. Be wary.

– What sort of job offer would you have if you don’t know what the job entails or who you answer to and no one else in the organisation knows these same answers? It’s not the perfect fit for you.

– Before you take on a new role, there is already an attached salary to that position you are hoping to fill. If your recruiter is persistent on knowing how much you earn, even though it’s obviously not comfortable to you, then give them a range. If that doesn’t suffice, it’s not your perfect fit. There is no law stating that your employer must know how much you earn before an offer is given.

– If there is no physical structure that represents the organization or its employers, then it’s possibly a sham.

– Don’t be desperate to start work when you don’t have all the info required for the role. Like starting the job without pay with a possibility of being paid in the near future. There should be some sort of clarity to that effect. Don’t be the person to say how high when they say jump. Have respect for yourself and what you bring to the table.

– Finally, your instincts are your best decision makers. If you have that tingly feeling that something isn’t right, then it isn’t. Go with your guts.

You might have to walk away from six, eight or 10 opportunities to find one that’s right for you. That’s OK! The more doors you slam, the sooner you’ll find a great job that deserves your talents.

LiteratureRe: Chronicles Of A Bearded Ibadan House Officer by magazineguy(op): 11:49am On Mar 29, 2018

It has been a while I had a good laugh, because all the strength I am meant to use to laugh I end up using it to work; I’m sure the muscles meant for laughing have me converted to work horse muscles but patients will always give you a good laugh.

It was a Thursday if I could remember vividly and there was a whole lot of loads of patients, No one ever says ‘sorry doctor, take a chill and rest’, we have that belief that doctors should walk all around the clock; I was doing just that.

The night time are usually not very good because the official ambassadors of Ibadan ‘The mosquitoes’ would make sure your skin is branded before the morning, I remember weighing myself before becoming a house officer and weighing 85 kg. I’m sure with the blood the mosquitoes have sucked I’ll probably be 75 kg.

The night as I said earlier was busy and when it became a little calm, I tried to rest, had to sleep on a couch with foamy layers; if I sleep on the bed I might just wake up the next morning.

The surprise was the next morning, saw this seven year old boy smiling and laughing at me, thought he was happy as how well we persisted before setting his intravenous line but lo and behold… He said ‘Doctor your sleep yesterday was so loud that I could not sleep, He continued I used to think my Daddy’s snore was the loudest but doctor your snore beats his hands down. Doctor you deserve an award for snoring.’

I felt so embarrassed how many people were thinking like this in their mind… How many of those kids were wishing they could beat me for disturbing their sleep. I just made sure I was quiet that day, but that one kid kept laughing…

FashionFashion Features That Compliments A Woman’s Outfit by magazineguy(op): 2:47pm On Mar 28, 2018
A woman can make her outfit pop in minutes by adding one or two accessories to her outfit. Women need to know that it is not by wearing an expensive hairdo or outfit that necessarily make your outfit speak, but by paying attention to certain detail, owning the outfit and giving it a little twist. Never wear what everyone is wearing. Nevertheless, know some trends and how to go about wearing them. We all need the information of how to accessorize. There are certain fashion accessories a woman should be aware of in order to make her outfit pop.

CLEAR FACE

A clear face cannot be overemphasized because a woman with all that expensive bag and clothing’s with a face full of acne and pimple is a NO No. A woman should be able to take care of her skin by eating right, using the right products for her face, working out, taking vitamins, doing a facials at least once in a month and of course using a sunscreen lotion, which is very important to avoid sun burn and darkening of the skin.

MADE UP FACE

It can be a lot of work to wake up in the morning, do a proper makeup and head out the door to work or any other place. A woman without makeup is not ugly but makeup brings out the better part of the beauty, makeup makes a woman look put together, smart, and lively. Makeup adds that spunk to an outfit .it also makes the woman look like she knows what she is doing and very much responsible for herself.

TIDY HAIR

This is very important yet simple in taking a woman’s outfit a step higher. A woman looks not put together when her hair is not tidy. Tidy in the sense of wearing simple and neat hair like braids, low cut, a properly sewn weave or properly made wig that fits. A woman should not even carry her hair for so long as it leaves an odour, but her hair should be washed and changed or styled regularly, no matter the hairstyle you are wearing.

JEWELRY

Jewelry is very much an outfit stunner, especially when you are wearing the right jewelry for the right outfit and occasion, you will definitely turn heads. A nice choker, neck pierce, bracelet, nice wristwatch, leg chain and if a lady wants to go all out and pierce extra holes on her ear in stylish and decent manner, go ahead; some ladies opt for nose ring. A brooch is another fashion accessory that really is for the stylish woman, it comes in a shiny ornament either gold, silver or coloured. It makes a dull outfit come alive.

STYLISH HANDBAG

A woman should purchase a bag that is stylish in nature preferably a small one, that is leather in nature. Leather bags have a way of making a woman look expensive and classy even though it is very affordable. A woman should look out for bags for designs, actually a few designs and more of a statement bag.

CLEAN TEETH AND GOOD BREATH

A real fashion item or will I say fashion necessity is a woman that has clean teeth and good breath. Mouth odour is a No No in 2018. Women should not ignore their mouths and focus on looks because the teeth and mouth is also important. Women should invest in scaling and polishing treatment that removes cavities and dirt that cause mouth or gum disease. Visit the dentist at least twice in a year for check-up, using good toothpaste and mouthwash will help in keeping the mouth very clean. Brown teeth is irritating to the sight. Ladies, please see your dentist for teeth whitening and look nice, because a beautiful smile can open a lot of doors.

CORRECT FOOT WEAR

Wearing the correct foot wear is very important to a woman. A woman’s outfit can be taken a notch higher when her foot wear is nice, appropriate and unique. The right footwear is necessary and also appealing to the eye.

NICE AND FIT BODY

Healthy and fit body cannot be over emphasized, a heavy blotted woman will almost not look good in a dress or any outfit for that matter. It is good to watch what you eat, exercise, drink lots of water, eat fruits and vegetables. A woman’s body is envisioned to be a figure 8, little curves and slim, with that kind of body, it screams elegance and is better than wearing a million dollar dress.

NICE FRAGRANCE

A woman that smells good will only open doors for herself. People will not only admire that lady but will want to listen to what she has to say. A good smell is appealing and attracts people to the woman. A woman should learn to clean her body well and put on a nice fragrance. This habit will make any outfit come alive

CONFIDENCE

A woman that is confident can conquer all, with any outfit, she can carry it well, when she is down, she is still hopeful, when she stumbles she will still succeed. A woman fully glammed with low self esteem or low level of confidence will not be recognized and listened to.

GOOD MANNERS

Good manners is very important to a fully dressed woman, bad manners drive people away and good manners brings people together and one can achieve ones goal easily. A woman needs to learn simple etiquette, this will go a long way in bringing the best in her outfit.

Business5 Reasons Why Should Become A Business Owner by magazineguy(op): 10:54am On Mar 27, 2018
Aside other fulfillment that come with running a business, a business owner is highly skilled and knowledgeable people with vast experience.

Entrepreneurship gives you the opportunity to impart in yourself and others resulting in higher impact compared to working for others. Though we have more neighbours leaving for work in the morning than successful business men/women going out to run their businesses, this has resulted in few or absence of role models in neighbourhoods around the country to serve as source of inspiration to others. Although Nigerians have a few people around them to look up to for inspiration that will ignite their business drive but on a general note, Aliko Dangote’s business pedigree is enough inspiration for anyone interested in entrepreneurship as he has recorded great success locally and internationally with a high business network.

Here are a few reasons you should consider setting up your own business soon:

Building a dream – Most successful entrepreneurs around the world are living their dreams, their present situations were mostly mere visions in the past. Your business can become a big empire if more effort is channeled into building it.

Making an impact – Entrepreneurs are change makers and a great number of these people are providing solutions to problems around them.

Recognition -When your business becomes successful, you will be recognized as a change-maker or someone of value who went all out to be different.

Posterity – A business can be managed for a longer period of time with the right skills. You can also pass down your business to the next generation.

Income – Entrepreneurs can decide how much income they want to generate by being innovative, creative, smart, hardworking and determined. If you dream of living in big mansion, visiting exotic places and networking with successful people, setting up a business and growing it will help you realize those dreams.

Technology Market5 Best Cities Around The World To Launch A Startup by magazineguy(op): 10:03am On Mar 26, 2018
When it comes to starting up a new technology business, the first place that comes to mind is Silicon Valley, which is located in San Francisco, Calif., USA. However, the rise of living costs and real estate prices is giving entrepreneurs a hard time because they already have a limited budget. For this reason, entrepreneurs should not forget that there are many alternative locations to launch a new business that are much cheaper than Silicon Valley. Below you can find the five best cities, besides San Francisco, to launch a startup.

Boston, Mass., USA

Boston is the east coast version of San Francisco. It has a very educated population because it hosts more than 60 universities. Also, some of the most prestigious universities such as MIT and Harvard are located in Boston and this makes to find the necessary talent easier. Also, don’t forget that both Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg began their studies in Boston.

Berlin, Germany

Berlin is one of the fastest growing startup ecosystems around the world. There are many startups headquartered in Berlin. Also, there are many accelerator programs and incubator centers to help entrepreneurs grow their businesses. It is in the middle of Europe and Germany has a very strong economy. Therefore, if an entrepreneur is targeting to be a business in Europe or wants to grow his/her business in Europe, Berlin is the place to be!

Bangalore, India

Bangalore hosts around 4,900 active startups. It is one of India’s leading tech cities since 1970s. It has low labor costs along with great technical talent. Moreover, there are plenty of early adopters in Bangalore so startups can showcase their MVP or finished products easily and find some active users. It has a great investor potential as well.

Istanbul, Turkey

Istanbul is the bridge between Europe and Asia. It is a very large city with a population of 15 million people and its population mostly consists of younger people. Mobile device ownership and internet penetration rates are very high. New business accelerator programs and incubator centers are opening up every year so getting into a program in order to grow your business is easier. However, it is an emerging market so one should be ready to be up against the challenges of an emerging market.

Melbourne, Australia

Melbourne often competes with Sydney to be the tech city of Australia but Melbourne has lower living and real estate costs compared to Sydney. This makes Melbourne attractive for startup founders. Also, its people are open to new ideas and innovation and this makes finding early adopters easier. In addition, the business community is very diverse so startup founders from any industry can try their chances in Melbourne.

They say no one knows tomorrow, I tell you in Ibadan you can always know your tomorrow; of course it’s so structured – wake up on Tuesday morning you get to attend a post graduate meeting; for the residents, it’s an opportunity to learn advanced level medicine you will only find in journals, for us house officers it’s a chance to sleep and complete the episode of sleep you didn’t get the previous day. I mean no one sympathizes with you that you barely slept and were busy all night but they want you to listen to high fallowing stuff. I’m currently laughing in Swahili right now, I tell you there is no space in my head to listen to anything, even where is the glucose, the little glucose I’m reserving for sleep you want me to finish it on stuff… Never

Wednesday is my most dreaded meeting, Mortality and Morbidity, perhaps the more scary of all meetings, the one where they tear doctors apart for mistakes or better ways a patient could have been managed. That’s the only meeting you audibly hear everyone’s heartbeat apart from the swirling of the fan, the next sound is a hundred hearts beat racing because of fear. I’d be honest; I seriously detest the meetings because of the way the whole thing goes down. I’m sure some people after that are torn apart and cry in their closet. It’s so painful to see grown up men and women spoken to like kindergarten children.

I remember one particular day one house officer was particularly tired because he had worked all night and of course was at the meeting , the guy didn’t care at all the way he snored you would have thought it was a car with a spoilt silencer. He just kept changing gears. Oh men… I could understand because I wasn’t a huge fan of sleep but these meetings were all lullaby to me. The more I tried to resist it. The more I fell into the pit of sleep.

FoodNGO To Feed 5000 Children At Iwaya Slum This Easter by magazineguy(op): 1:00pm On Mar 19, 2018
Feed for Life Foundation (formerly known as Blinkup Foundation) was founded in 2014 to fight against child hunger in Nigeria. Since its conception, the foundation has fed over 10,000 children. In December 2017 alone, the foundation fed 3000 children and old women at the Makoko Slum, Lagos State.

The IWAYA EASTER FEST organized by Feed for Life Foundation is an all-day feeding project which aims to feed 5,000 underprivileged children and also sponsor a child through school via the foundation’s scholarship scheme.

According to UNICEF, “Nigeria is the second largest contributor to the death of children under five years of age. In Nigeria, two out of five children do not get the nutrients they need for body and strength development, and over 13 million are affected in the country“. 90,000 children are expected to die in Nigeria over the next 12 months, and unless we take action, 240 children will die every day.

Working together is the only way to end hunger. We’ve built many partnerships to pursue new and better approaches, accelerate the success of our programs, and get food and other essential needs to those who need them most.

We feed hungry kids all over Nigeria. In communities with severe poverty, we bring hope and real help. Feed for Life gives kids the chance to learn again, providing backpacks and school supplies to families who can’t afford them.

According to the community leaders, 60% of children at IWAYA stop schooling after their primary education due to financial instability, which leads to child labour in the community. The foundation will be supporting 5000 children with stationery to aid their learning at school.

The event will be taking place at Shogunro, Iwaya on the 2nd of April, 2018 (Easter Monday).

Naa, you are wrong.
There are many businesses that LAPO for example have helped launched. There are many credit lending platforms in Nigeria. Problem with most of you is, you want a loan of 10 million to launch a business and really which bank wants to give 10 million for a takeoff project and maybe you don't have a history of cash inflow.

The interest rate is high, I agree on that but don't say bloggers copy and paste. Some are actually putting out well thought and researched content to help the populace.

BusinessThree Easy Ways To Raise Business Capital For Your SME by magazineguy(op): 9:34am On Mar 19, 2018
Are you currently thinking of where to source capital to start a business or are you finding it difficult to get a source of business financing? We are always made to believe that doing business attracts huge financial investment; an idea that has destroyed the dreams of several would be entrepreneurs.

It is indisputable that business requires funding but a thorough assessment of how much is needed, what can be done to reduce cost to its barest minimum and ensure efficiency also play very vital role in the success of the running of the business. Here are three easy ways to raise funds for business:

Savings

The only source of business capital that comes with no obligations is your own savings. If you currently have no savings, it’s advisable you set a time frame and save up for your intended business project. Those who have already saved up some money can utilize it efficiently for their business investment.

Family and friends

Another source of financing an entrepreneur get to access easily comes from family and friends, these are people who believe in your dreams and wish you reach its full actualization. Family and friends are reliable and can be helpful most times, business capital from these close ones also come with lesser obligation.

Quick loans

Financial institutions have done greatly lately by coming up with facilities with lesser hassles and requirements. People can now access loans with little documentation within duration as quick as 24 hours. Several companies currently exist in the country granting such facilities; it is therefore advisable for one to choose the one that is most convenient. Most of these loans come with high interest rates but that can also be a good price to pay in order to reach one’s entrepreneurship dreams.

Career4 Types Of Workplace Discrimination Common In Nigeria by magazineguy(op): 9:00am On Mar 16, 2018
Life comes at you fast in the workplace and for some organisations, it’s just like high school all over again. There is no perfect work environment but for some, they have found themselves in the best possible workplaces imagined. As an employee, you need to be in a workspace that encourages optimum productivity not diminishes it. Discrimination is defined as the unjust or prejudicial treatment of different categories of people, especially on the grounds of race, age, or sex. Synonyms: prejudice, bias, bigotry, intolerance, narrow-mindedness, unfairness, inequity, favouritism, one-sidedness, partisanship.

It can also be described as recognition and understanding of the difference between one thing and another e.g. “discrimination between right and wrong”. For this article, I would be using the former.

Here are my top 4 types of discrimination you are most likely to come across in the workplace

Tribe

Where do you come from? In most workspaces, the dominant tribe rules and if you are not from there or understand their language then there is a problem. You are most likely to be treated unjustly if you are not from a particular tribe. You can even be judged by the attributes associated with people who are from your own tribe.

Age

Being older or younger can either be in your favour or not. Even though there is no particular age that calculates efficiency or productivity, in most workspaces, it is embedded in the foundation of the organisation. Even job requirements have a stipulated age range if you are beyond the age bracket you don’t qualify for the position.

Marital Status

Are you married? In most workplaces, especially if you are of certain age, not being married doesn’t speak well of you and could be frowned upon. For men, it means they cannot manage managerial positions and therefore don’t qualify for promotions and for women every other female employee who is married would be treated better than you.

Gender

The world’s biggest issue. Inclusion.Gender is a major issue in the society with women protesting equality and fairness. In most workplaces being a woman is seen as weakness, emotional instability or pressure. Promotions are denied, compassion is ignored and if you have to take your child to the hospital, questions like “ where is your mind really at” is asked. For men, it is easier. The masculinity, the beards, the abs, even the gait is seen as a potential image of the organization to be a leader, to be nominated for a promotion or represents “that your mind is really here”. Which in most cases isn’t the case.

Other types of discrimination in workplace are; political believes or activity, religion, disability, pregnancy out of wedlock etc. Efficiency shouldn’t be judged by any of this but by what you bring to the table.

Not all workplaces encourage discrimination. I know of many that encourage inclusion and the above mentioned are not even thought about when you are about to be given the job.

If you are in a workplace that you feel you are discriminated against and there is nothing you can do about it, find another place. One that recognizes your worth and welcomes it. They exist. I work for one.

Chronicles Of A Bearded Ibadan House Officer [Ep.2]

Oh well or how bad can it get, I had gained weight from the festive period walking with my belly up the stairs, oh boy, it wasn’t easy I should have taken it easy on the chicken and assorted meat; I was weighing 85kg; Phew, that was quite much for a short stout boy. Laughing out loud

I was posted to the Neurology Unit of Paediatrics – the units that take care of issues relating to the brain and the higher centers that coordinate the activities of the body. I got a good but cold welcome of course that is very typical of Ibadan. Everyone thinks work mode doesn’t deserve a big hug, C’mon get your hands to work. The other house officer whispered something into my ears, you looking fresh now; when they are done with you will stop all these freshness.

Oh mehn, second day of resumption my senior registrar walked in, a neatly dressed man looking happy with gap tooth that looked as if a whale was struggling behind bars. He came to see the first patient, then he started talking I stood there like a log of wood and I didn’t know I was meant to start writing. Was I a stenographer, of course after a second dose of the shredded look I grabbed my biro and started scribbling, it was awkward as he was so fast. How was I meant to catch up I mean, I was not a robot, how will I remember the last few sentences when I have forgotten the last words he just said. After he noticed I had a lot of lapses he just said ‘Young man do you think you’re here to play, young man you need to wake up.’

I bowed my head down; how can that be the first words of commendation I am getting after all the happiness and well ironed, starched clothes just to make a good impression. He crushed all my joy, Is it my fault that I was a slow writer… Hmm okay..Let us see how it goes…

Fashion10 Simple Ways To Maintain Your Wig As A Lady by magazineguy(op): 10:24am On Mar 13, 2018
Wig is not just a fashion accessory but an important asset in a woman’s life. It has become very convenient yet beautiful making it easy for the everyday woman to go around her day to day job and look beautiful. Wigs come in different types ranging from straight, curly, wavy, short, medium and long lengths. It is important to take care of the beautiful wigs, so that they last long and remain beautiful.

There are some steps below on how a woman can maintain her wig[s];

1. Brush it regularly when on your head, and put a little drop of hair serum, do this once a week so that your wigs can last longer, too much hair serum can spoil the hair.

2. Do not throw your wigs anywhere after use, place them on a wig-hanger.

3. When a wig is dirty, get warm water, pour in shampoo, soak the hair in and bring it out. Do this 3 times. Rub in hair conditioner on the wig, leave for 5 to 10 minutes, then rinse by soaking in clean water, bringing out and swiping with the hand. P.S use the right shampoo and conditioner, not the one that will break the hair.

4. Comb the hair gently, and then dry with medium heat.

5. After washing, add little treatment spray of your choice, then add little hair serum, do not add weave-on oil as this might damage the hair.

6. From time to time when you sweat under your wig, don’t forget to dry in the sun.

7. Do not colour your wig so much because this can make the hair shed a lot or loose its natural elasticity.

8. Put your wigs in an open place where air can get to it. Do not tie up your wig in a plastic bag.

9. Deep conditioning is very important, although I just learned this, just like you deep condition your natural hair, you can do same for the wig as it keeps it moisturized and soft

10. Do not put too much heat, being straightening, curling or drying. Do all this minimally, as too much of heat can damage your wig. If for any reason you cannot afford to maintain your wigs, give them to a professional hair stylist, that will keep it looking fly.

BusinessFive Challenges Of Nigerian Entrepreneurs by magazineguy(op): 9:39am On Mar 12, 2018
Nigeria is one of the countries in the world where entrepreneurship is a tough path to tow. Most people who engage in business see themselves as mere traders making them unaware of their impact and influence on aspiring Nigerian entrepreneurs, this group of persons are also mostly aversive to learning modern skills.

The entrepreneurship environment in Nigeria is full of challenges that only weight down people with aspirations, the evidence is the high rate of unemployment but little or no drive of venturing into entrepreneurship by the teeming masses. Here are few challenges faced by Nigerian entrepreneurs:

Uncertainty

Most Nigerians will rather work for someone else and be sure of getting paid than ply the uncertain route of entrepreneurship without a guaranteed income. Doing business leaves you with no choice than to work too hard to earn your own pay cheques and control how you want to live your life. Nigeria entrepreneurs are always reminded of how much their peers are earning working for others and how uncertain and time wasting the path they have chosen is.

Absence of role models

In most Nigerian neighborhoods, there are more people working for others than those running their own successful businesses, so the banker, the public servants and politicians are the role models. When we have more persons or a good number of persons that are successful at running their own businesses closer to us, we will be inspired and motivated to do the same thing.

Low demand for business knowledge

It’s only a small fraction of Nigerians that love and appreciate the knowledge of business. People venture into business without the knowledge of structuring the business to win, team selection/building, legal implications, sales and digital skills. When failure occurs, they tend to blame the business and not engage in self evaluation.

Lack of vision

When it becomes tough rather than to reinvent and strategize, most Nigerian entrepreneurs throw in the towel forgetting the big picture. An entrepreneur with the future in mind will endure and forge on until he/she succeeds.

Education system

The system of education in the country dwells more on theories rather than engage students practically. This has greatly affected and increased the low enterprising and innovative nature of most Nigerians.

CareerHow To Work With Difficult People And Still Maintain Your Sanity. by magazineguy(op): 8:37am On Mar 09, 2018
The beautiful thing about the life we live is the different temperaments that we are exposed to at the work place, home and even in public spaces. It really takes grace and understanding to handle everyone and still maintain ones sanity.

Life has taught me that everyone has their own individual temperaments and to get through life you need to find a way to manage these temperaments. The work place comes with its own type of stress but to get through it you need as little stress as you can get to make great productivity at the workplace. Difficult people defy logic, some are blissfully unaware of the negative impact that they have on those around them, and others seem to derive satisfaction from creating chaos and pushing other people’s buttons. Either way, they create unnecessary complexity, strife, and worst of all stress.

Here are my top tips to handle difficult to manage people at your workplace. The last is my personal favourite.

Set Boundaries

If it’s over familiarity, cut it and keep it strictly business. Keep your distance and remove any emotional sentiments you have associated to the person. Difficult people can act out irrationally, so don’t put yourself in a situation where you have to be trapped and become the person’s dump.

Be Calm

Don’t let people bring out the demon in you. Remain calm even when there is a storm on the horizon. Because if you reduce your self to the person’s level and start to complain based on the person’s reaction towards you, you both start to argue, anyone looking form the outside won’t tell the fool apart. Hold your peace.

Make sure it’s not you

It’s really easy to judge and point the finger and say that person or the other is difficult. Check yourself and ask from people around. If you are the one with the problem, the one who like to create tension or chaos then fix it. Resolve whatever bottled up problem you have and stop frustrating people around you. If its not you, then continue reading.

Live to fight another day

Don’t die in the fight. Smart people know how important it is to live to fight another day, especially when your foe is a toxic individual. In conflict, unchecked emotion makes you dig your heels in and fight the kind of battle that can leave you severely damaged. When you read and respond to your emotions, you’re able to choose your battles wisely and only stand your ground when the time is right.

Ignore

Now this is my personal best. Nothing wins more than ignoring people so much they wear themselves out. Now if you have tried it all and it all don’t hold water, ignore them like they are non-existent. Get on your daily tasks and interact with the person only when needed. Of course, this isn’t feasible in cases where the person plays a critical role in your work. So tread lightly especially with managers.

Finally, before you get this system to work brilliantly, you’re going to have to pass some tests. Most of the time, you will find yourself tested by touchy interactions with problem people. Thankfully, the plasticity of the brain allows it to mould and change as you practice new behaviours, even when you fail. Implementing these healthy, stress-relieving techniques for dealing with difficult people will train your brain to handle stress more effectively and decrease the likelihood of ill repercussions.

SportsHow Experience Sabotaged PSG And Tottenham Hotspur by magazineguy(op): 11:05am On Mar 08, 2018
The much-awaited ties brought desperation and anticipation among football fans across the globe. Little did they expect the results that awaited them.

The first leg of Round of 16 between Real Madrid and PSG turned out to be full of surprises as the game play did not reflect in the results. As they say: “The play does not guarantee the game”. This is an attestation to the fact that Los Blancos dominance in Europe will always remain despite a poor run of form in their domestic league. PSG on the other hand, is a just a team that is passing the building stage in hope for a brighter future. The stage being set was supposed to accommodate class and mastery in the game. All eyes were on Neymar and Mbappe to pile more misery on Zinedine Zidane. The Brazilian was in his world and lost focus and purpose in line of getting his job done. The defending champions equalizer in that match was the driving force behind them winning, coupled with Ronaldo’s class. Madrid won 3-1 to the delight of fans. The second leg proved that PSG beautiful flow of football was incomplete without Neymar. The tie lacked the necessary flow and Madrid got the upper hand 2 goals to 1 in their favour, a clapback to the pundits that ruled out their qualification.

Tottenham who has an impressive run in the EPL put them on the edge of qualification after drawing 2-2. A scoreline which went in their favour, thanks to 2 goals away from home. The determination to qualify over Juventus was evident as they wasted no time in grabbing the lead through Son’s goal in the first half. Juventus passion to qualify showed in Chiellini and Buffon’s doggedness down the pitch, orchestrating and making sure they do not concede more. The hardwork paid off when Higuain equalized after a great build-up from the flanks. Dybala will then round up the comeback with a beautiful 1-on-1 finish. Juventus have been looking to be crowned winners in recent seasons but luck has been shy of their path. Only time will tell because Chiellini and Buffon are past their primes and the age is creeping in on the duo, already.

LiteratureChronicles Of A Bearded Ibadan House Officer by magazineguy(op):
I don’t know whether I was meant to be happy or not, I have spent the first 7 years of my life in medical school. My mates are all getting married and here I am growing beards all in the name of Medicine.

It came as a shock when I got a call to come and start my house job in Ibadan, Ibadan has always been the most dreaded place to do your internship. Tales of vigorous unending work, seemingly low numbers of house officers, lack of accommodation with initial employment.

Anyways I had finished from Ibadan and was well aware of these gory tales, I was among the vast number of fairies who had always hoped to fly away after graduation but I guess securing a house job was so difficult; If you didn’t have giraffe legs that can help you cross the Atlantic ocean of house job you’ll probably be six feet deep in a mess you never bargained for.

This is Ibadan they always say even if a monkey comes here we will teach and make a Doctor out of a monkey. But do they make monkey out of Doctors?

Should I be happy, should I be sad, should I reject this offer, Am I ready to face my worst fears , Am I ready to call a spade a spade, Am I ready to function at a level I have never functioned before, I took an oath – Medicine is a brotherhood, I won’t be the weak link. I had sworn with every drop of my last blood.

OK yes, I accepted the house job and did I mention I am bearded, one of the virtues I held in high esteem, My beards were like what feathers were to an eagle, It gave me a sense of clothing, I felt naked anytime consultants threatened to make it hell for me in exams whenever I haven’t shaved my well shaped beards.

I hope everyone that aspires to do their House job in Ibadan will learn from my experience. All these deep thoughts gave birth to #Chronicles of a bearded Ibadan House officer. Follow me as I take you on a roller coaster of how tacky, hilarious being an Ibadan Doctor can be. Welcome to my world.
