DerideGull: I say no with regards to warfare and military engagement. Nigeria in ECOMOG took a side with group that has a defined area of military operation. Boko Haram seem to appear everywhere without areas delineated for military operation. In most cases, in quarters and villages regarded as friendly. The rebels in Liberia and Freetown encompassed civilian areas as well |
DerideGull: You are spot on the bolded. Even the rank and file of the Nigerian army can make a parade team of certain country's elite squad.General Patton took control of the U.S.II Corp after their shameful defeat at the hands of the German Afrikan Korps. Patton will later have several victories with this same company after making sweeping changes. One of the things he noted on the first day at arriving at his new post was the general indiscipline and shabbiness of both the officers and personnel. He commented that : "They don't look like Soldiers so how do you expect them to fight like one". The numerous checkpoints set up by the military are a testament to the general disorder within the Nigerian Army in particular. The soldiers are usually in different varying uniforms and sometimes I have observed some of them at the check points adorning Manchester united head mufflers on their uniform while on duty. Another peculiar nonsense is the fact that some officer thought it wise to camouflage the check point as if it is some ambush position even though this is a designated security screening check point which would have required the opposite wherein the personnel on duty and the check point should be made visible especially at night to civilian motorists. |

Save thyself from shame first |
This guy just they rob God's people |
hercules07: In a truly federal arrangement, LASG can build the 3rd Mainland bridge, if it is PPP and we are to pay, no problems, it definitely will not be up to 500 Naira.Do you guys want a true Republican status to return? I highly doubt that since the APC chieftain, Tinubu has declared that a National confab is a waste of time all out of his desirous greed and dream of one day controlling the oil resources. |
funkybaby: I will watch the clip tomorrow, I don't want to go to bed with a headacheThe boy in the video is no more than 10 years old. The Nigerian soldeirs came under sniper fire from an adjourning building. A gun fight ensued with Nigerian soldeirs spraying randomly at every roof top because they were not sure where the sniper was. They later raided one building and saw a child no more than 10 or 12 who even looked malnourished and assumed him for the sniper. They beat him mercilessly, and tied him up like an animal and tossed him into their truck. The boy was screaming throughout. I had visions of this boy for weeks on end when I first watched it but what was most harrowing is the scared look on this boy's face when he was first apprehended by the soldiers. |
funkybaby: If this approach will solve the problem and deliver the much needed result, then so be it.Then there will be no difference between the Army and the insurgents. The populace will then naturally be more adhered to the cause and motives of the insurgents and then join them. Wars are fought both on the battle field and for hearts and Minds. The Romans new this so well that after pillaging any rebellious province and purging it of the seditious groups, they (Romans) will sooner or later rebuild and integrate that province back to it's former status within their commonwealth. It was only the Palestine Province that was sacked so viciously on account of the Jews not wanting to assimilate within the Roman Commonwealth. Even throughout the siege to retake Jerusalem, the Romans exhausted numerous concessions to have the rebellious groups make amends and appealed on behalf of the innocent civilians trapped within her walls. Titus (son of Roman General Vespasian and later Caesar) wanted to preserve the city and the temple there within but for the fanatic fervor of the Jews then, he burnt the temple and demolished all of Jerusalem. |
hercules07: Yes it can if it goes PPPMy point exactly. The 3RD Mainland bridge and all federal infrastructure that Lagos currently enjoys where never built by concessionaires and neither can Tax revenue be said to be the main funding. Even at that, if 3rd Mainland Bridge was built by concession how much do you think you will pay to use it given the current exorbitant rate which is being applied for the Ikoyi bridge and lekki expressway? My guess is that it will cost at least 500 Bucks per salon car and more for bigger vehicles |
funkybaby: I know. The Sierra-Leonnians and Liberians still hold Nigeria in contempt as to the conduct of their soldiers on and off duty. A lot of innocent people were killed by the Nigerian Military in their Pyrrhic strategy which saw little or no difference between armed combatants and innocent civilians. The collateral damage was enormous but the mainstream western media avoided reporting this on the cue of their governments who were reluctant to send troops to Africa. The Nigerian Army got the Job done in the most shabby manner ever. The video below shows Nigerian soldiers in their finest barbarity https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUcTb1i9184 No matter how many times I watch this video I feel very angry and cry for this young boy. |
DerideGull: ECOMOG operation was totally different from the case of Boko Haram. They are on the same par. The Nigerian army engaged a militia populated with drugged child soldeirs. The Nigerian Military is yet to engage a regular disciplined army. |
greatgilbert: There are people who TRULY suffer from Down's Syndrome and it was never their fault. He suffers from shymexx disorder. I wonder what the odds are to have a very rare mental disorder named after yourself? |
shymexx: Dirt off my shoulder.Arayan brother hood 2.0 Dark Knight I bet they will allow you join the KKK on the condition you wear a black hoodie. All I need is a pen-knife to stab all the arteries out of your neck. You won't be the first to be shanked just for the fun of it.WTF was that all about ?Now he is shanking people on the internetz

hercules07: What are you talking about? How much does Lagos contribute to the coffers of the FG from all sources? As long as Lagos contributes more than it gets, then, no Oil money is being spent on Lagos. The LASG revenue deficit that you are demanding from is based on Thiefnibus Local Government creation which was unconstitutional. This is what Lagos State has been using as reason for a short fall Outside, if the FG is to privatize some of the infrastructure in Lagos just as Could Lagos with all sincerity outside oil revenue allocated to it build 3rd Mainland bridge? |
Onlytruth: I am compelled to agree with the bolded words.Since the end of WW2 and the setting up of the United Nations there have been several wars but mostly internal civil conflicts. Apart from Saddam's hair brained Idea to invade Kuwait and feeble attempt at empire expansion there is hardly any other country that has been invaded. Now who in their right mind will want to add Nigeria with all her wahala as a colony? |
hercules07: The port nko, what of the etc abi you do not know the meaning of etc, do us a favour, calculate how much the FG spends on Lagos in a year and how much Lagos contributes to their pocket. How come you factored a FG controlled infrastructure? The last time I checked the ports have been concessioned to a private firm and Customs collects revenue therein which is remitted to the Federal Purse. Lagos does not collect any revenue from this based on VAT but on population figures which means a state like Kano which was deemed the most populous is remitted more revenue from tax and duty proceeds than Lagos. The only area I see LASG getting something is indirectly from taxing the Port management and the several clearing and forwarding firms which will be negligible compared to the revenue from duties. |
obayaya: nigga shut up..actually I heard he works in subway now since he was disqualified from being on the dole By the way I liked Your post. serves that fake a$$ right!
|
Onlytruth: Thank you for asking this question. As things stand now, the Military is in shambles. The officers and men are generally undisciplined and ill trained. There are also many sympathizers within the military officer corp and personnel than there is dirt on the streets of Bujumbura . This war can never be won, not with all the money and resources and training as long as there are sympathizers within the Officer cadre towards Boko Haram. Cameroon has done their own bit by keeping Boko Haram off their territory so has Chad and Niger within their relatively low military budget. I recall how Nigerian military were made to guard the rear in Mali and to do other auxiliary task outside real combat because the French commanders said they could not work with them based on their intelligence report on both their discipline, training and level of commitment. Wikileaks also gave us a snippet about how our military officers are being regarded when the then U.S. Ambassador had a meeting with the head of Shell Nigeria during the Yaradua impasse, she (U.S. envoy) asked if a coup was likely to occur to which the then head of shell ruled out primarily on the basis that there are no officers who posses the intellectual prowess to actualize a coup. |
madam_oringo: It was Dede1 first, NOW you too are making the first sensible and only brainful comment since God knows when? What happened to you?apart from APC etouts and muslim fanatics I am good with everybody ![]() |
shymexx: ^^^You don't deserve a reply. Your life is a waste - I step and spit on it like a floor mat.And to think you were the fastest among several million
|
hercules07: Nope, Lagos money via VAT and port etc etcHow can 5% VAT which is poorly collected compare to oil proceeds? How many outlets in Lagos account for our accommodate for VAT in their transactions? Even when they do , do you think they remit it to FIRS? |
hercules07: I am sure LASG can and will build a better one,Yes, they are very good when it comes to CGI Projects after that it quietly dies a natural death. |
Onlytruth: I hope you are sure o. I say this because when Abacha was in charge, the budget then was around $2 -3 billion, and our GDP then was around $66 billion.Who are we fighting? Nigeria does not need to waste money on stup1d military hardware that will be obsolete by the time they agree to sell it to us rather I will like to emphasis on TRAINING for our troops and also a marked downsizing in their numbers. We don't require an air force since what we have is more like a Chair Force. The U.S. coast guards has more helicopters than our fighting force. It is obvious that we may never require a standing army against any invader rather our army has been used against her own citizens more than any other force in history. The role of our army is no more than an occupying deterrent to secession and the role it has come to play within the boko insurgency should have been adequately handled by an efficient police force in the first place. If You ask me I will rather see more funds going into civilian policing than the army |
hercules07: Nothing to say right? Unlike you guys, I do not begrudge any part of Nigeria developing, it is to the glory of the country and the people, but, building ancient airports in the 21st century and expecting us to be grateful? No way. This is the only functional airport in the whole SW you will do well to appreciate it and shut up. Or will you like to be routed through Enugu airport next time you are travelling in or out of this country? If it so then get your governors to build you a world class airport with 10 rwys and 200 gate way terminals. Even if there are not enough airlines and passengers to service the witches and wizards that populate your region will use the facility nocturnally. |
shymexx: ^^^This is what the prick is running his about mouth. A uni that's not even top 1000 in the world. Freaking product of artificial insemination by a cannibalistic eunuch father. Don't ever talk about my lineage again, bastard! Are you from Ekiti which has a lot of moribund doctorate holders without nothing to show for it because if you are so educated and well accomplished in your life you wouldn't be so easily trolled as to start beating your chicken chest because whatever bsc, msc or dsc you may posses you still have the other important alphabets to learn in life which is solid accomplishments and experience to which you have zilch. And all these your rants and tribal slurring here just goes to show what a waste of funds it was for those who paid for your tuition. |
Bogus, Bunce and Bean One fat One short One lean These horrible crooks so different in looks but none the less equally mean! You will do well by stop being a follow-follow . |
hercules07: Please let the FG take the MMIA to wherever they want to, that eyesore of an airport, I will rather they develop all of Nigeria so we can depopulate Lagos, we do not need the FG handouts.STORY! |
shymexx: Emotional, non-achieving plonkers. Can you post her CV by age 26 - and let's see if she can measure up with what I've achieved? Let's get cocky and throw achievements out there, you uneducated bastard.Look at this angry skiny yoruba boy claiming everything from aristotle knowledge to Mike Tyson powers. You delude yourself. |
