Emerging reports have claimed that about N3.6 million out of over N8 million recovered from a suspected thief has allegedly disappeared in Enugu state police custody.

Vanguard reports that the state police commissioner, Mohammed Danmalam, said he would personally investigate the matter. “I will investigate the matter and give you feedback please,” he said through a text message.

A member of the Police Mobile Force (MOPOL) guarding a bank at Nsukka area of the state was said to have recovered the money from a newly recruited security man by the bank.

The man reportedly confessed at the station that he acted alone and that he was recruited as a security man by the bank barely a month before the incident.

Lee Myung-bak a former South Korean president, was jailed for 15 years for corruption, on Friday.


The 76-year-old CEO-turned-president, who served from 2008 to 2013, was found guilty on charges including bribery and embezzlement and ordered to pay a fine of $11.5 million.

The former South Korean leader was indicted in April on 16 charges that included bribery, embezzlement, and abuse of power.


The court found that Lee was the de-facto owner of DAS — a controversial auto parts company which he claimed was his brother’s — which he used to create slush funds of around $22m

Lee was also found guilty of accepting nearly $6m from Samsung Electronics in return for a presidential pardon for its chairman Lee Kun-hee, who was jailed for tax evasion.

Houston Police Department has launched an internal investigation after one of their officers was filmed taking a photograph of a woman's butt at a Drake concert.

Footage taken by a concert-goer, showed the policeman secretly taking photos of the woman on his mobile phone while standing just yards behind the lady who was enjoying the concert. He then flicked through and admired the photos
Chalice Williams who shared the video on Twitter said she was 'stunned' after catching the officer on film. She claims the policeman was zooming in on the woman's backside even before she got the chance to start recording.

It is a sad moment for the family members of a student who died after urinating blood in UNIBEN.

A 300-level Entrepreneurship student of the Department of Management Sciences, University of Benin, Austin Okafor has died reportedly as a result of the lackadaisical attitude of the school management.

According to reports, Okafor had gone to the Health Centre on October, 2, 2018, for medical attention and was referred to the Uniben Teaching Hospital, on Wednesday morning, after he started urinating blood.
It was gathered that despite the emergency situation, the ambulance conveying him with no life support facilities, was still made to stop at the Student Affairs Division to obtain a clearance permit before he could be treated at UBTH.

However, after about a 35-minute delay in getting him to UBTH, Okafor died while doctors were struggling to resuscitate him at the Accident & Emergency Ward after another 15 minutes of negligence.

Olawepo-Hashim’s election was ratified by the 593 delegates at the National Convention of the party held at Ibeto Hotel, Abuja


Businessman and Chairman of Oilworld, Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, on Wednesday emerged the presidential candidate of the Alliance for New Nigeria.



Olawepo-Hashim’s election was ratified by the 593 delegates at the National Convention of the party held at Ibeto Hotel, Abuja.

His unanimous affirmation through a voice vote was made possible following the withdrawal of another presidential aspirant, Alhaji Ibrahim Eyitayo Dan-Musa.



The Chairman of the Election Committee, Comrade Isa Yinusa, who is also the Deputy National Chairman of the party, told the convention that other presidential aspirants who had earlier indicated interest in the party’s ticket did not present themselves for screening by the party.

The convention also ratified the strategic alliance between ANN and another political party, Peoples Trust, in what the leaders described as the single-minded mission to rescue Nigeria.

Prior to the ratification of the candidature of Olawepo-Hashim, the convention had approved the expulsion of the suspended National Chairman of the party, Pastor Emmanuel Dania, as well as the Deputy National Secretary, Osita Okonkwo, for alleged anti-party activities.

Songstress Bongi Dube, who is the daughter of the late Lucky Dube is grateful to have escaped with her life after she got electrocuted during a performance in Durban
Isolezwe is reporting that Bongi’s leg and left arm was seriously injured in the freak accident.

“As I was about to sing on stage I unfortunately then stepped on one of the electric chords which was not properly wrapped. It felt like someone had hit me with a knopkierie, everything went blank afterwards,” she told the paper.

Bongi’s manager apparently called her husband, who is also a doctor to attend to her.

The songstress is said to be recovering but still finds it difficult to walk or drive.

While the physical injuries may be healing Bongi said the incident was incredibly traumatic and she wants to put it behind her..

Bongi shared pictures of her injuries on Instagram saying that she was “grateful to be able to move”.

The Limpopo cops have launched a manhunt for a rape suspect after a grandmother who is believed to be in her 90’s was raped.

It is alleged that the elderly woman went to sleep at around 8:30 pm and at about 4:00 am, she was surprised by an unknown man who entered through a window. The unknown man then demanded sex and threatened to kill her if she doesn't oblige.

After raping her, the man then ran away and his whereabouts is currently unknown.
The Lulekani Police Station Commander Lt.Colonel Mackenzie Prince Mkansi said:
That's when the victim informed one of her family member who immediately informed the police about the matter.

Mkansi said the police reacted swiftly on the matter and opened a case of house breaking with intent to rape.

He added:
The police have embarked on a serious search for the suspect and the police would neither sleep nor slumber until the perpetrator is busted.
The police have appealed to the members of the public, to assist the police in order to arrest the culprit.

A Wuse Zone 2 Magistrates’ Court in Abuja on Tuesday sentenced one Holy Flobert to six months imprisonment for terminating her pregnancy.

The convict, of no fixed address was arraigned on a charge of act done with the intent to prevent child from being born alive.

The Magistrate, Idayat Akanni, however, gave the convict an option to pay N5, 000 fine.



Akanni advised her to be careful and shun committing crime, adding that this punishment was to serve as deterrent to other would be offenders.

Before the judgement was delivered, the convict, Flobert had pleaded guilty to the charge, prayed the court to temper justice with mercy.

“I took the herbal medications to treat fever and not to terminate my pregnancy, if I had known it would result to this, I would not have taken it,” she said.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Adeyemi Oyeyemi, told one Hassan Mohammed, of Nyanya Abuja reported the matter at the Wuse Zone 3 Police Station on Sept. 19.

Mohammed reported that on that same date about 10pm while he was at Orange Garden in Wuse Zone 2, he noticed that the toilet key was missing, so he used the spare to open the door.

He discovered that the convict used herbal medication to terminate her pregnancy in the toilet.

During police investigations they discovered pool of blood from the crime scene.

Oyeyemi said that the offence was punishable under Section 235 of the Penal Code.

Kwankwaso's son in-law, Abba Yusuf, a former commissioner, may likely emerge unopposed as PDP Kano Guber Primary reportedly holds in Kwanwkwaso's house.

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, is currently conducting its gubernatorial primary election in Lugard Avenue, residence of the former governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso.

According to the report, the exercise kicked off Tuesday morning. Kwankwaso is vying to become PDP's presidential candidate.
It was gathered that only delegates loyal to the Kwankwasiyya faction were accredited.
Kwankwaso’s son-in-law, Abba Yusuf, a former commissioner, may likely emerge unopposed as other aspirants were not in the picture at the venue.

An aspirant outside Kwankwasiyya group who traced the venue and is participating in the process is Jafar Sani Bello.
Kano PDP governorship primaries scheduled for last Sunday was later postponed by the national headquarters pending resolution of some issues.

On Monday, security operatives barricaded Maraba Cinema, venue of the exercise to avoid breakdown of law and order.
Last week, the Police dispersed members of the PDP caretaker committee while the officials were holding a meeting at Sokoto Road in Kano metropolis.

The police explained that they acted on a subsisting court order against the formation of the committee by the party’s National Working Committee, NWC.
Justice NS Umar of Kano High Court in an interim order dated August 28, ordered both the applicants and the respondents to maintain the status quo ante, pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice.

The court ordered the respondents and any other person or persons to restrain from interfering or tampering with the tenure of the existing leadership of PDP in Kano.
Umar Mai Goro Rano and four others dragged the national and state leadership of the PDP before Justice Umar, challenging the plans to restructure the party’s executive committee.

A man escaped being killed by unknown attackers following the crisis rocking parts of Plateau state. It was gathered that the victim was travelling from Gombe to Bida, Niger state before he was attacked by some hoodlums who descended on him with various weapons before he narrowly escaped and ran into a police station for safety.




Many people were reportedly feared dead in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State following the alleged killing scores of residents by gunmen around Celebridge, near Tina Junction.


Properties were also burnt at Dutse Uku, Tina junction, Rikkos, Anguwan Rukuba and Farind Gada; where there were sounds of sporadic gunshots by security operatives.

An Apostolic Faith Mission pastor got more than he bargained for after he was caught pants down with a female church member who is said to be married, while having sex inside the bush few days ago.

The pastor identified as Joseph Ponda who hails from Tynwald in Dzivarasekwa, Zimbabwe, was allegedly caught pants down with an unidentified member of his church and was assaulted by passersby who caught him in the act.
In a viral video posted online, the pastor who was beaten and humiliated – was made to run in his underwear along with the female church member after being caught.

A Man who stole from a native doctor’s bag is regretting his action as he believes the stealing has brought him a life of suffering.
The 49-year-old South African man identified as Pule Motshabi, said he stole money from a native doctor’s bag eight years ago and he is being punished by the ancestors.

He can be seen walking in the streets of Turflaagte kasi in Free State, South Africa without any clothes on. He said he used to steal from people by pick-pocketing them and he was never caught – but the theft from the native doctor has caused him a life of suffering.

He said he has always dreamed of paying back the money he stole from the native doctor.
“I have looked for him everywhere. I am like a madman. I sometimes walk down the street naked and only discover later that I have no clothes on,” he said. “I really need to ask for forgiveness and pay him back,” he says.

He said he is worried the native doctor has died, because then he will have to spend the rest of his life being punished by the ancestors.
Pule’s aunt, Mojimang Shupping, said it hurt her to see her nephew walking around naked.

“Sometimes people beat him up because they think he is a witch,” she said.
“I have taken him to many native doctors, but they say the only thing that will set him free is paying back the money.”

A native doctor named Rakouana Mamoya said: “If the native doctor has passed away, the man must search for his family to pay back the money and let the family ask the ancestors to forgive him.

“There is no native doctor who can help him. Only the ancestors of that native can help him.”

A middle-aged Chinese man was embarrassed after he was caught defecating in the garden of some Ghanaians with whom his property reportedly shares a boundary in
Ghana.

The man was confronted by angry Ghanaians who filmed the embarassing incident on their mobile phones.
In the video below, the embarrassed Chinese national is seen hurriedly wearing his briefs and pair of trousers as he was caught defecating in the garden. Immediately, he started apologizing while complaining he had a stomach upset.

The angry Ghanaians then insisted that he collects his own excrement from their property and go with it. At first, the Chinese man said his driver would do that, but they refused and instead gave him a shovel to pack the excrement himself and go with it.

Despite contesting for a post for a record of 96th, he has never won in any of the elections and he isn't giving up any time soon.

John Turmel, a Canadian, is currently contesting election for mayor of Brantford, the city he lives in, but that is actually his 96th shot at an elective position.

Interestingly, he has never won in any of the elections, earning him the record of the world’s biggest loser in the polls.
But he says he has no regrets and is not deterred to keep pushing.

“I have no regrets. For a guy with no resources, doing it all with my winnings from mainly illegal games, what have I got to be ashamed of?” he asked in an interview with The Guardian.
He first ran for an election into parliament in 1979, earning just 193 votes after knocking on uncountable doors, campaigning.

His main goal at the time, according to Turmel, was to legalise gambling, after series of police crackdown on his underground operations.
Four decades down the line, he has never stopped to take his chance at elective offices, sometimes earning as much as 4,500 votes, and, on one occasion, getting just 11 votes.
“People with no money can basically create their own tokens by monetising their own time,” he was quoted as saying.

“I realised that I’m going to have to take advantage of every opportunity to explain how we could save ourselves from poverty, which is created by not enough money.
“We’ve got lots of wealth, lots of food, lots of clothes, we’ve just got not enough money to buy it.
“I do zero campaigns,” he says. “I go and I sign up, I give them a press release and a press conference and then I’ll go home. And if there’s a debate, I’ll show up.”

An All Progressives Congress (APC) agent in Esa-Odo of Osun state, Adebiyi Ajibade, was hacked to death by some thugs after the elections on Saturday 22 Sept. 2018. The ugly incident started from Polling Booth Unit 05 Ward 09, United Primary School, Esa Odo around 12:00 noon on Saturday 22nd September 2018.

Some Esa Odo party members who are said to be cult members reportedly requested for money from the APC party agent at the polling booth claiming they voted for APC.
The party agent told them categorically that no money was given to him or any other member to buy votes and that the party was not sharing money.

The thugs threatened and harassed the party agent and told him not to leave the polling unit or get out of town that night.
On his way home later in the evening at about 8:30 pm, the deceased (late Adebiyi Ajibade) and his friend Mr. Femi Egundabi waited for one Mr. Asubiaro Olasunkanmi at Abosad filling Station Esa Odo.

They sighted these same guys that demanded for money for voting – coming in their direction with arms and ammunition such axe knife, and cutlass, as they attacked them.
The deceased was stabbed in the chest, while Femi Eegundabi Femi was able to escape from the gang.
Mr. Adebiyi Ajibade was rushed to a private hospital (Odufunke Hospital Ijeda-Ijesha) for treatment at about 9.30 pm on Saturday 22nd September 2018. He was treated throughout that night but he gave up the ghost on Sunday morning around 6.00 am.

This case has been reported at Esa-Oke police station. The body of the deceased has been deposited at Wesley Hospital, Ilesha.

A 44-year-old woman, Jane Govender and her two daughters, were brutally murdered by her boyfriend at their home in Durban, South Africa , an attack that got the suspect arrested.

Jane Govender’s husband who was on a night shift and was not at home at the time of the murder, returned to see the corpse of his wife and daughter Rackelle, 16 at about 07:30 on Friday morning. It was gathered that the body of their elder daughter, 22-year-old Denisha, was later found in a cupboard.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Thulani Zwane who confirmed the incident, told newsmen that even though a post-mortem is being conducted, it is believed that Jane and Rackelle had been strangled, while Denisha had been stabbed. According to him, the suspect believed to be the late woman’s boyfriend, is expected to appear in the Verulam Magistrate’s Court next Tuesday. He will be charged with three counts of murder.

“A 45-year-old man who is known to the family was traced and arrested [on Friday] night. He will be charged with three counts of murder and will appear in the Verulam Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday,” Zwane said.

Govender’s husband who arrived home that morning and knocked at the door which went unanswered, found the bodies of his wife and two daughters after climbing on to the balcony and entering the house through a back window.

Late Denisha’s boyfriend, Macaellin on the other hand took to Facebook to mourn her, adding that they were planning to get married in 2019. He wrote;

“Baby we had so many goals that we were supposed to achieve together. We were supposed to get married early next year, we planned to go to thailand for our honeymoonWe were looking at places to buy we were on the verge of getting our bond so we could get our own place together, we were so damn excited to call it our own place We wanted to have babies together, two sons. We wanted to get two cream chow chows as pets, we were supposed to live happily ever after.

Baby every dream I had, every single one was with you in it babe! Now every bit of hope’s and dreams is crushed. Words cannot explain the torture that’s going on in my heart knowing that I dont have you no more, it’s a feeling that nobody can ever understand because nobody in the world could love the way we loved each other?.

You were the love of my life, my better half, my soul mate and my best friend. Whenever I am down you’re the only person who can make me feel better, I never been this down in my entire life and I dont have you here too make me feel better. I love you more than I love myself I love you so much it hurts so bad when I think off what happened to you and even though I’m a grown man I break down crying. You thought me how to love, you the only girl I ever loved and now I don’t have you. But I know you’re in a better place now RIP my Queen?”
