A young man identified as Ifunanya, has been allegedly tortured to death by Nigeria police officers attached to B Division Warri, Delta State.
It was gathered that the deceased Ifunanya was fast asleep when officers attached to B Division broke into their apartment and surrounded everyone in the house with guns while in search for internet fraudsters otherwise known as ‘Yahoo Boys’.
They searched the house, found nothing and ordered Ifunanya and four others to enter their Hilux van before taking them to the station.

It was alleged that the officers tortured Ifunanya to get information but he couldn’t make it like others as he passed away during the brutal process.
Ifunanya fainted and was rushed to General hospital where he was confirmed dead by the doctor.

The police hurriedly arraigned the other people arrested with Ifunanya and charged them for armed robbery.
According to reports, the other arrested victims are currently in Okere Prison.

A young girl who was kidnapped when she was 2 years old has been found four years later.
Onyinyechi Okpala went missing on 30th November 2014, when she and her mother went for an end of the year party which was hosted by her uncle named "Taribo" in Port Harcourt, Rivers state.


A search was conducted but the girl wasn't found as months turned to years.
Yesterday, 20th August 2018, the little girl, who is now 6, was found by the Imo state police who busted a child trafficking syndicate. A total of eleven stolen children were recovered from the suspects some of whom have been identified by their parents.


The Imo State Police Command have arrested eight suspects in connection with child stealing and trafficking. The arrests were made between 24/07/2018 and 17/08/2018 at Agbor Park in Benin City Edo State and Imo State respectively.

Captain Paul Pogba has hit out at Manchester United's blase attitude in their 3-2 Premier League defeat at Brighton.

Paul Pogba admitted Manchester United had the wrong attitude in their 3-2 defeat at Brighton, and said he was at fault as much as anyone, Sky Sports reports.




United produced a lacklustre display as they were humbled at the Amex Stadium on Sunday. Pogba was again named United captain but failed to replicate his strong showing in the opening-day win over Leicester.
"We lost, we did not deserve to win," Pogba told Sky Sports after the match. "The attitude we had was not like we wanted to beat them, they had more hunger than us.


"I put myself first, my attitude wasn't right enough, we keep trying and pushing, and it is going to be a big lesson for us."
Glenn Murray and Shane Duffy put Brighton two up inside 27 minutes before Romelu Lukaku pulled a goal back.
However, Pascal Gross made it 3-1 from the penalty spot and United could not respond until second-half injury-time when Pogba scored a penalty.


"I think we made the mistake we shouldn't make," added Pogba. "You go 1-0 down, it's OK, then 2-0, then 2-1 and you have hope we can score again, but we concede a goal. It's a hit for us. In the first half it was a hit. It was very disappointing, we tried to push.


"You cannot always approach the game the same way as the last one. You always try to play better than the last game, but we know, and I know we can always play very good, but the attitude has to be good and we missed that today."


Asked about the reaction of manager Jose Mourinho at half-time and full-time, Pogba said: "The first half, I think you should ask him. I don't want to talk for other people, I think you should ask him."

A group of teenagers said to be terrorising residents of Sapele, Delta state, has been arrested. It was gathered that the two young boys rented an apartment in Gana area of Sapele before the girls whom one of them is dating – started living with them along with her friends.

Report has it that the teenagers specialise in burgling resident’s shops after mastering how to open keys with knife.

According to reports, they young suspects revealed that they always operate at night when residents must have gone to sleep.
They were nabbed recently after breaking into a cassette store and were about to begin their operation.

They teenagers were placed in handcuffs as deliberations were made as to what to do to them, whether they should be taken to the police station or released.

A Nigerian man was stabbed to death by his girlfriend's ex, who is also a Nigerian, in Katy, Texas.


Godson Akran, 38, is in custody after he allegedly fatally stabbed his ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend, on Thursday morning, in front of her three children. Authorities identified the dead man as 43-year-old Taofeek. He was stabbed to death at about 4:30 a.m in front of the woman and her three children, all who are younger than 13.




Authorities said Akran went to his ex-girlfriend's home in the 3700 block of Daintree Park Drive, before the stabbing. The woman called 911 sometime before the incident because her ex was trying to get into the house. They have two children together but have been separated for two years. Akran came back to the house, and the woman let him inside. An argument ensued, an angry Akran grabbed a knife from the kitchen and used it to stabbed the current boyfriend, Taofeek.
Godson Akran (pictured above) will face a murder charge.

Aretha Franklin, the long-reigning Queen of Soul, died on Thursday morning at age 76 from advance pancreatic cancer.
Her publicist confirmed she died at her home in Detroit at 9.50am.

A St Louis area woman's Facebook post is going viral after she was denied a job with a local company because of her ghetto name.. Hermeisha Robinson posted to her page on Monday that she applied for a customers service representative position with Mentality Health in Chesterfield...

Robinson was hurt when she received an email back from the company saying "unfortunately we do not consider candidates that have suggestive ghetto names".  Robinson went to say in her post that "my feelings are very hurt" and "I would like for everyone to share this post because discrimination has to stop..

However, Jack Gamache, from Mantality Health said their system was not hacked but their job posting website account was hacked... Mantality Health CEO Kevin Meuret says they think about 20 people got emails similar to Robinson's. "

N5,000 travel allowance for corps members and N2 million for corpers who took part in the parade, have been endorsed by the state governor.



Speaking while addressing NYSC Corps members on Monday, the Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi, announced the approval of N400 million to the scheme in the state for the renovation of the scheme’s orientation camp in Afikpko North Local Government Area.


According to News men, the latest development is separate from the N5,000 travel allowance he directed to be immediately given to each of the 2,200 Batch B Stream 1 Corps members who ended their orientation course on Monday.
It was gathered that the governor also approved N2 million for corps members who took part in the parade, adding that all the monies are expected to come from the state government’s coffers.


Governor Umahi who also approved various cash sums to the staff of NYSC and military officers who trained the corps members, urged them not to allow themselves be used by politicians to thwart the country’s democracy.
According to him, politicians are planning to rig next year’s election and the corps members owe a duty to the country not to give in to the plots.


“I have no doubt that you were adequately motivated and sensitised by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission on your participation in the forthcoming 2018 General Election.
“Let me inform you that your participation in that all important assignment is a rare opportunity for you to contribute your quota towards enthroning a credible leadership, toward governance and above all, engendering a peaceful and prosperous nation.


“In the light of the above, I charge you to discharge the INEC assignment with utmost sense of responsibility and good conscience by not allowing yourselves to be manipulated by desperate and unscrupulous politicians who will be willing to buy your conscience at all cost.”


He said the N400 million will be used to renovate the road leading to the camp, dilapidated structures in the camp, provision of drainages, regrassing of the camp’s parade ground, connection of the camp to the national grid, solar street lighting of the camp and other projects.

Management of the Federal University of Technology (FUT), Minna, Niger State, has dismissed a lecturer from the Department of Geology, Omananyi Yunusa Adinoyi, following the outcome of investigation on an alleged sexual assault on a female student.

It was learnt that the dismissal was approved during the university Council’s 131st meeting presided over by the Vice Chancellor (VC), Prof. Abdullahi Bala. The alleged sexual harassment was against a female student in the same department who took a course taught by Adinoyi.


The decision was reached after the investigative panel found Adinoyi guilty of inappropriate relationship with a female student. The case was kept away from most departments especially the Information Department which only got the dismissal notice after it was decided.


The VC said Adinoyi’s dismissal would serve as deterrent to others as “the university has taken further steps to ensure total elimination of sexual harassment in FUT, Minna community. Efforts to get Adinoyi to speak proved abortive as his line was switched off.

Also, the Council approved the withdrawal of 13 students for poor academic performance.All the affected students, except one, are Masters’ students from various departments. Six of the students are from the Department of Biochemistry, three from the Department of Mathematics, two from the Department of Mechanical Engineering and one from the Department of Computer Science.

Many customers of the Fidelity Bank at Kola bus stop, Lagos, were shocked, yesterday after the branch manager ordered the security guards to beat up two aggrieved customers for daring to complain about the poor service rendered to them.



According to one Olumide, who witnessed the incident, the customers were at the bank to lodge a complaint after the bank’s ATM failed to dispense cash to them and they were debited. He alleged that in the course of their rant, they insulted the bank over the manner in which the issue was being handled.

The insult was said to have angered the manager who ordered their beating within the bank premises.

A radio station in Jos has been fined 100,000 Naira for playing Falz' "This is Nigeria" song.

The National Broadcasting Commission, NBC, wrote a letter to the radio station informing them that Falz' song titled This is Nigeria is "laced with vulgar lyrics" and for playing the song, they will be sanctioned.

The lyrics they pointed out that they had a problem with is the part that goes, "This is Nigeria, look how we living now, everybody be criminal."

Also, the commission fined the station for playing Olamide's song titled "See Mary, See Jesus." The letter says Mary and Jesus are regarded as sacred by the Christian faith and as such contravenes section 4.3.1e.
The station was also cautioned for playing Wande Coal's Iskaba with the lyrics, "Girl you dey make me kolo, shaking the ass like kolo" which NBC says is vulgar.
NBC has asked the station to pay the fine of 100,000 Naira within two weeks, else they will be made to face stiffer sanctions.

Social media users have reacted in shock to the letter and wonder how Falz' This is Nigeria can be considered vulgar.

Represented by the Secretary to the Federal Government, Mr Boss Mustapha, the acting President, who described Akpabio’s action as “uncommon defection”, said that the Federal Government under the leadership of Buhari had provided jobs to teeming youths through the N-Power programme in the last three years.



He added that “the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidates put together would not defeat Buhari in 2019 general election.”
He urged the people of Akwa Ibom to have faith in the Federal Government and assured them that things would improve soon.
He said “I came to thank Akwa Ibom people for their remarkable show of solidarity. I came to tell you that the Government of President Muhammadu Buhari loves the people of Akwa Ibom.


“I want to put on record that the entire South South has been taken over by APC-led government. I can assure you that the hearts of the President, the acting President are with you.”
The Senate Leader, Sen. Ahmed Lawan, who was in Ikot Ekpene with over 30 senators, said that the defection of Akpabio to APC had stirred the PDP to foundation, describing it as “more than the 14 senators who defected from APC to PDP last two weeks.”


He described the former Minority Leader as a nationalist who believed in the nation and the administration of President Buhari.
Lawan said “the declaration of one and only senator in the history has stirred Akwa Ibom and indeed Nigeria.
“This defection has swallowed all previous defections. From this moment, Akpabio is our member. He always consider national interest first and believes in united Nigeria.”


The National Chairman of APC, Adams Oshiomhole, commended Akpabio “for doing what Senate President, Bukola Saraki, could not do by resigning his position.
Oshiomhole said that “with a senator like Akpabio, the party was sure to capture the entire South South in 2019.”

He assured that Akpabio would enjoy all rights and privileges accruing to members, saying “let me assure you that the President and party leaders of the progressives welcome you wholeheartedly into APC.”
He urged Akwa Ibom people to join forces with the progressives to sustain the change that Nigeria badly required.




Meanwhile, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, has appointed former Senate minority leader, Godswill Akpabio as the party's leader in Akwa Ibom state.
We gathered that Oshiomhole made the disclosure on Wednesday, August 8, at the Ikot Ekpene stadium, venue of the reception rally for Akpabio who defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to All Progressives Congress (APC).


The APC chairman also taunted the PDP, describing it as a torn umbrella in the face of the current ‘’terrible political weather’’, noting that the party misruled the country for 16 years.
