The question Nigerians should be asking is; why sell to them? What type of negative economy policy is that? Why not sell directly to people who needs it? Why sell to BDC? Why? Just too sad
Yampotatocarrot: I agree with your second question, why not sell to banks and ask banks to sell directly to customers?
Are banks that superior that CBN and government can't punish erring banks that refuse to sell or claim they don't have?
What about banks allowing people perform transactions on their cards, even if it's just $200 monthly, with the dollar they get from CBN?
That is the practice in any reasonable country. Nigeria is the only country that practice this BDC and CBN romance. It is a useless and fraudulent policy
NairaOcean: In a statement that has sparked controversy across the nation, former Governor Peter Obi has made a striking comparison between the annual proceeds of cybercrime, popularly known as "Yahoo Yahoo," and the daily corruption within the government.
Mr. Obi, a prominent politician and businessman, did not mince words when he claimed that the entirety of funds stolen through cybercrime in a year pales in comparison to what is allegedly siphoned from government coffers in a single day.
"The amount of money that 'Yahoo Yahoo' people steal in one year is not up to the amount of money stolen in government in one day," Mr. Obi boldly declared to a stunned audience. "We need to be honest with ourselves. The scale of corruption within our government institutions is staggering."
What i don't understand is; why sell to BDC at subsidised rate? Why? Why not direct anyone that needs USD to the bank? Why sell to them at #1,300 while they will resell at #1,500+? Why?

You can say that and say that again.
It is so sad that people couldn't see beyond their mouth. For anyone to even castigated Tinubu shows how deluded or misinformed they are including the so called PO
FeliciaOja: You have to give people from the east their accolades. When it comes to Business They are the real genius.
I remember when Dbanj left Don jazzy and ran to USA. people said Don jazzy is finished Mo hits is finished
Don jazzy as a true Igbo business man Started a fresh with MARVIN The rest was history
If only dbanj could see the future He wouldn't have left Don jazzy Now ordinary Rema get LEVELS on international scene pass Dbanj

Congratulations Don Jazzy💥💥❤️❤️
Keep fooling yourself. They are the worst businessmen around. Check the stats. Yes, they are good in trading. Here is the difference between trading and being a good business person. Judge for yourself:
"Trade is referred to as a basic economic activity that involves buying and selling different goods and services between two or more parties involved in the transaction WHEREAS business is an economic activity that involves the exchange, purchase, sale or production of goods and services with a motive to earn profits"... Rossikk: I have been studying the Mwaghavul people of Plateau State.
I believe they are the remote ancestors of the Chinese.
The Mwaghavul people must have migrated to China in remote antiquity and settled there, and helped to build that civilisation.
They have names like Nanching, Nanking, Ching, Nanfwang, Nandong, etc etc.
Other ethnic groups proximate to the Mwaghavul like the Berom, Jaba, Shanga, and others, also have names that sound VERY Chinese.
And when you hear them speak, I swear it’s like you are listening to Chinese people talking.
And they have the most slanted eyes of any Nigerian group I have seen. In fact most Plateau state people have these slanting eyes.
What’s going on?
And why is there hardly any research being conducted on this?
My friend used to joke about them while in school back then. He will say they were named based on what was threw on the floor during their birth. If it was stainless, they gave them names such as Gbuamm, etc
I have watched with keen interest what average Nigerian has been passing through since the inception of this new government.
It's so sad that the system has been bastardised and corruption has eating deep to the extent that Nigerians now see it as a way of life. When traders are stealing rice in modules from a bag of rice and still selling the bag as a normal bag, then what do you expect from such heartless generation?
MOST Nigerians don't want to surfer. They are mostly interested in cutting corners and hence won't love to wait or sacrifice for a greater future.
SOLUTION
Tinubu should SOLELY focus on 6 things. 1. PMS 2. DIESEL 3. KEROSENE 4. Aviation Fuel 5. Gas 6. Security
Let the USD dollar trade freely. Don't involve yourself in subsidising anything. Just try as much as possible to bring the above items ridiculously down and stable. Go refine in poorer countries so that you can import it cheaply while you build new refineries in different place entirely.
Nigeria owns four refineries, two located in Port Harcourt and one each in Warri and Kaduna. Despite huge Turn-Around-Maintenance (TAM) efforts none seems to be producing. It is the people working there that are destroying everything. The country is too corrupt. Those refineries need to be sold as scrap and new one built in a different place.
Once the above products are sourced cheaply and security at top notch, Nigerians will start producing and consuming locally without complaining. While those still interested in sourcing foreign can go ahead if they have the money. This act will make our economy stronger and will make your first term a huge success.
Forget the road, electricity or anything in this term because nothing will work.
I won't regret voting for Tinubu because there is nothing he can do in this highly decayed system. Was it Tinubu that hoarded grains? Was he the one that was involving in illegal arbitrage and so many ills? Tinubu was never my candidate but he still remain the best out of the trip that were more popular.
Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested one 45-year-old, Okoro, and one 42-year-old, Patience, in a ‘one chance’ robbery in Lagos.
PUNCH Online gathered that the incident occurred at about 6:00 am on Saturday.
It was also learnt that the robbers often pose as commercial bus drivers while abducting unsuspecting passengers to different locations to defraud them of their properties.
In Nigeria, the term “one chance” is frequently used to describe a robbery committed by a group of criminals who pick up people who are waiting for a bus or taxi just to rob them.
A police source told our correspondent that the robbers frequently transport people in the Olusosun, Ojota, area of the state, noting that they were arrested based on reliable information that they had gotten from the public.
The source added that one of the victims had been able to identify one of them, stating that they had taken N37,000 from her two weeks ago.
“Some suspected thieves are always parking around the Olososun Ojota area in the pretense of taking passengers to their destination but instead take them to an unknown destination and steal from them.
“The incident happened around 6 am, and one Patient, aged 42, and one Okoro, aged 45, were arrested based on the credible information received from the public. One of the victims was able to recognise them, and she said they stole about 37,000 from them,” the source said.
When contacted, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident to our correspondent on the telephone, stating that the investigation is ongoing.
He said, “The incident has been reported. The suspect will be arraigned at the conclusion of the investigation.”
PUNCH had reported that Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a suspected one-chance robbery leader, Ndubisi George, aged 49.
Flier: The price increase has nothing to do with corruption,it’s simply because of demand higher than supply, dealers are now selling their cement to neighboring countries to make double profit because of weak Naira something that is not a crime till government make it a crime
So, the neighbouring market demand is higher than the Nigerian market? Are the cement producers not selling outside the Nigerian market before? When we talk about policies, we mean, the policy not favourable tlfor cement startup. Do you think Bua, Dangote and Lafarge are the only cement manufacturers? No! The policy is not favourable. Your idea, regarding selling outside thereby increasing demand is completely false. Cement demand not that high that should make the product scarce.
BluntCrazeMan: Please I need someone to explain it fully to me - like as if I'm 10yrs old.
Why exactly is the price of cement going up this way?? What exactly really happened?
Is the price only affecting Just Dangote Cement? Or it also affected all the other cement brands like Bua and Elephant.??
Corruption and dead policies. Come to think of it. Cement raw material is usually 90% locally sourced. The only chemical needed to always make it dry quickly is the only foreign material and most of them such as Lafarge and Bua hardly uses it.
Why is cement price high? They should just come up with the excuse. Is it the diesel? How many percentage increment do we have on diesel and what should be the average increment on the price? Nigeria is like a dunghill. You can throw in anything and people will swallow it sinker. Likewise some idiots already supporting Dangote to sell at par with the international market. I wonder when production cost in poor countries became at par with developed countries? Nigeria just a dunghill
Not like Druggie who Okays 1billion for Inauguration of Minimum wage committee.
I wonder how any SENSIBLE person will be supporting tiniboo or APC!
How is this any iota of transparency? It should have been done long time before now. So if there wasn't any dust raised, he wouldn't have done any accountability? You people should please shut the hell up
BitterTruth01: Yoruba bigot spotted . That’s why the majority of you people will never be productive . Always looking at other people’s successes and counting another man chickens Other people come to your land and succeed, then you get extreme jealous and demand recognition. When you don’t get it, you start spreading malicious falsehood and hatred
Reelmii: did u not read that the majority of the staff of BANKING SUPERVISION DEPARTMENT in CBN were moved to lagos ...those once just resumed this February...some are still squatting with people because they are yet to secure accommodation..now another people are being moved to lagos
So based on the above, there will be more congestion in Lagos? So many times I wonder if people really uses 2% of their brain. Never knew that influx of less than 500 people will cause a heavy gridlock in Lagos. Good night
Timmi: This does not show transparency nor accountability. Aisha Yusuf should provide the names of the law firms and how much each was paid for the legal representation and services rendered. Anything short of that showed that the lump sum of 744.5M was used to cover a lot of atrocities and corruption on money not really spent on law firm but rather money has changed hands illegally
simonlee: So, considering the rate at which the price of foodstuffs keep increasing by the day, I decided to buy enough rice to last a while. I went to a local market here in Southern Kaduna (where I work) to get my rice. These local markets are open only once a week, with traders and buyers from far and wide coming to make the most of it. I was able to get local, clean rice at the rate of N1,500 per mudu (our unit of measurement here ). I bought 15 mudus, that's N22,500 and got 1 extra mudu free after scoping the mama to the best of my ability. I think it was a good purchase considering how our brothers in the south are lamenting the cost of food over there. What's the situation in your area?
An excellent buy.
This is the right time for local producers to capture the market. If not for greediness, a thousand naira or less should buy a mudu successfully.
Tope2024: you are a fool(bad belle) .Do you think he is into sth shady like most people.what is ur problem.is your own money lost?
Nothing bad in questioning someone's wealth. However, if such question makes your parents foolish, then who am I to get angry? How you were raised is not far fetched. Good day
