i suspect it is caused by aphids sucking activity from the underside of the cucumber leave. tilt the leaf to view the underside of the cucumber leaf if u see some yellowish small insect stationary on the underside of the leaf sucking sap, if u see this, it is aphids pls spray accordingly.

Iv experienced it too, with time you will get the hang of it... But keep this in mind d spirit of a prophet is always subject to a prophet . GOD will not force anytin on you... Hello Guys Yesterday evening i came back from work and decided to inspect my garden. I found small flower bulbs coming out as small as they are... am very surprised and the cabbage is also doing good and curious when it will start folding inside.

the flowers will still drop those are false flowers i suspect its because of the weather. there are meant to start producing like in three months time. i experience that do.

i really enjoin ur post, its good education for wud b farmers especially in arid regions where getting water is difficult. having said this, i will proceed to note an error i notice in your farm if u may permit me.
i noticed u used raised beds to grow ur vegetables instead of flat beds, u may think this doesnt matter but it does from a stand point of research i hav been conducting also. u see we use raised bed especially to drain excess water away from the crop in cases of too much rain, and here ure talking about conservation of water using raised bed! actually, u could try flat beds and give a moderate amount of water then try and note if they can witstand or do better vegetatively, the solution might hav been as simple as changing tillage type in the region where u are... also, not all crops enjoy deep watering system... i know tomatoes does but i dont know abt ugu... and in a case of growing hectares of land this might be laborious and expensive. therefore i might suggest reorientation of tillage choice like the use of flat beds drip irrigation dat can conserve water enormously while suppressing weed growth and others.. thank u.

by creating an artificial termitarium, most zoos abroad rear termites to feed mokeys who will use twigs themselves to probe these termites out. you will have to simulate such an ecological niche that supports their development and since they hav short reproductive period, it wouldnt take time to have them in millions. they also can feed on wood they are known to house bacterials in their gut that can digest and convert wood to usable glucose for them. Check online on how to create an artificial termitarium and go to an actual termitarium carefully dig out the queen, they will multiply where d queen is....

You said you did not find anything? Then why are u bothered about what you cant find? They most have migrated to another colony. Also, start the snail rearing first, it is when you actually find anything disturbing them before you can think of a solution. Termites dont like exposing them selves unlike ants therefore your snails should be safe. Only that you advoid using wood close to active termite exits they will eat through untreated wood.

ethno- from the word ethnic meaning indigenous then entomology... they really dont have it.. we can begin its concept by understanding how indigenous knowledge is applied to manage insect pest infestation.. when we have gathered alot of knowledge on it, then it will be recognized as a branch of entomology. thats why im using this forum to invite traditional farmers to share their native knowledge on how they identify diff pest and manage them..

we will need to discuss the way forward and establish our own insect pest catalogue of various states and seasons in Nigeria. i solicit the use of visual aids that is taking pictures of the pest we see on our farm land and pasting it here for identification and further possible control... it will be nice to help traditional farmers understand the true meaning of insect pest... also, i propose starting a branch of entomology termed ethnoentomology that is the indigenous knowledge of entomology..

pls how many months does it take this variety to mature from planting to fruiting?

thanks..but I mulched, it still same result, I'm beginning to think dt I need to increase the water input, hope dt will solve d problem for good and hopefully this heat will decrease soon..or what do u think

.i will like to see the way u mulched it because the main purpose of mulching is to reduce evaporation and eva transpiration that means the purpose is not yet reached. u may increase but i still need to say that melon dont need that too much of water but require moderate water supply. but only if most of the water supplied is escaping and not used by the melon u may increase to compensate for this but to prevent leaching it is better to find a way of preventing such water from escape u might add to the quantity of your mulch material.

please try to mulch them using dry grasses around to protect them from loosing too much water. also don't water plant when the sun is hot is like literally pouring hot water on them. water very early in the morning and or very late in the even when the ground temperature has drop drastically.

let her try to replant them after getting the planting sett from it to see if there are chances of having multiple tubers again. it might just be an introduction to a new variety!

yes, it is very possible, with well treated plastic tanks, good plumbing or aerator if electricity is constant but if not, plumbing should be done to connect like a shower head above every tanks and regulated to be dropping little by little to displace CO2 and add oxygen. next you need a good pelleting machine to compose your own feed its quite cheaper than buying. it is practically possible to do indoors fishery.

Please I need to know any university in France that offers Forensic entomology as a Master course and PhD level. Either in Paris or in any of their university in France. please go to youtube even me there was a time i was interested on it. search the net especially YouTube you would be surprised to see valuable lecture materials (in video formats) on this topic that are of tremendous help. So many lecturers have taken the time to put step by step methods just for you there so please use.
