Sweetguy25:
APC wants to run a government built and sustained by lies and forgery. They won't last.
When you wrote that peice of yesterday showing how CBN rather than the Coordinating minister of the economy was responsible for everything that is wrong with the economy I only pointed you to the title of the minister just so you re-jig your head but today's comments suggest you don't jack about the economy and you are clearly suffering a hang over of the loss the GEJ and PDP suffered.
FYI, I am so PDP I should be crying but I can tell you that pointing fingers at APC and spewing stuff will not change the fact that the nation has veen poorly managed over time (16yrs).
Iweala claims our debt to GDP ratio at 1.5% is one of the smallest in the world, true but u will find our GDP remains largely tied to oil and infrastructure is worse today than it was before democracy resumed.
Under GEJ we have maintained a growing local debt profile that has been fueled by DMO sale of TBs to mop excess liquidity. Which excess liquidity other the ARTIFICIALLY created one?
Debt servicing to revenue at 22%? How can that be sustained? Especially when the back pocket is so much bigger?
I prayed it and I hoped it even though I knew it would end PDP reign, but I also knew that economically, change was the only way out and here we are.
Wait for it. Soon as the economic basis begin change, things will begin to fall in line. Trust me. Pls, dont insist that Iweala knew all the things she was doing. Too much micro managment of the economy got her befuddled.

Does coordinating Minister of the Economy make any sense to you
Trying to justify, mitigate, shift focus or any other modification does not change that fact.

- Well, NOI/federal Govt has to share in the blame....If this was happening in 1 to 5 states, i'd blame only the State-Govts but with 20+states owing then something is definitely wrong fundamentally...federally. You can't completely absorb the federal Govt from this mess. Afterall, it too has been owing.
So what do you think the state Housez of Assembly exist for if you are blaming the Fed govt for the poor performance of the state govts?
Fed govt cannot force any state to take any action the state is not inclined to. Leave FG alone for state matter.
Politics / Re: Salaries: Strike Imminent In 18 States by makyegh(m): 10:38am On May 22, 2015
Some states like Kano were added for political effect. There is nothing there. Benue on the other hand is a small case compared to other states but if performance was about paying salaries then nearly every govnor wud have been cool. Fact is that Suswam did not do himself any favours as far as Benue is concerned. His punishment comprises of likely jail time and or living with the ignominy of a poor performance for another 3 odd decade before he checks.

Fayose has spent the last one year ranting everywere, he has done nothing meaningful in ekiti state, apart from robbing the people to buy them some grains of rice. Only time will tell. FYI, this GEJ that was loved by all in 2011, was boothed out of office by the same people who loved him in the past...take note; political love is wicked
Fayose is not eligible to contest 2019. Ekiti kete better sit up to get their own now.

SEE WHY IWEALA IS IN GOOD COMPANY WIT HER AWARDERS OF A YALE DOCTORATE DEGREE FOR SUCCESS AT FAILURE.
The huff post had as at 2014 published a Yale Alumnus verdict of the performance of Head of Administration of Yale. An opinion you will find refreshing in helping you understand how she could have got the award. This publication was unearthed from a basic Google search of the web. Enjoy your reading.

Yale University Ducks on Fossil Fuel Divest Decision--and Fails Leadership 101Sep 08, 2014|UpdatedNov 08, 2014

Judith SamuelsonExecutive Director, Aspen Institute's Business and Society ProgramAs Yale students returned to classes before Labor Day, they were informed by President Peter Salovey that the University had rejected student demands to divest the endowment of stocks that are among the biggest emitters of greenhouse gases. Many of us working behind the scenes had hoped Yale would seize this opportunity to demonstrate real leadership on an issue where leaders are needed. Instead, by ducking the decision to divestfrom Big Coal, theYale Corporationignored the best -- and maybeonly-- real platform that this distinguished University has to move the needle on climate change. And they missed an opportunity to join Stanford as one of the few elite universities to divest from companies whoseprincipal business is mining coal.In his announcement, President Salovey termed climate change"the most important issue that faces the world in our time." Theadministration, however, did notput muscle behind the words, treating the student demands as an issue to be managed away, and instituting instead some lukewarm measures that sound good on paper. What we have here is a failure ofleadership. The Yale Corporationcould have used some of the lessons I was taught up the hill at the Yale School of Management. I hope they come in handy when the Yale Corporation reviews its decision -- a necessary step out of respect for the generation that will inherit the mess we are leaving behind:Leadership Lesson #1: Make Sure You are Asking the Right Question. The decision to divestfrom fossil fuels is apoliticaldecision more than an economicdecision, and not a time for intellectual parsing. The following explanation was given by theYale Daily Newson the work of the Corporation subcommittee: "While members of the Corporation Committee on Investor Responsibility acknowledged that climate change poses a grave threat to human welfare, they said divestment or shareholder engagement as a precondition to divestment were neither the right way to address this issue nor likely to be effective."No one, least of all campaigners for divestment, thinks dumping some stocks solves the problem. Yale doesn't have the scale, power or influence to move markets. It does, however, have the scale, power and influence to be a catalytic force in the call for action on pricing carbon. Joining the call for divestment of fossil fuels is a small act of solidarity that, because of the Yale brand, would add great vigor to the growing national student movement and hope for a globalsolution.Leadership Lesson #2: Get the Right People at the Table.Real engagement with student leaderswould have helped the committee move past the trap of framing the question too narrowly. Students bring a different lens to the decision--more focused on the broader political landscape than on Yale itself.Students could have helped President Salovey to reframe the issue; to say "Yes/And," rather than "No/But"--as in"YES, we are signing--although we know that divesting from fossil fuels will not directly solvethe problem" and also, "here areall theotherthings that we pledge to do that go beyond thesmall act of solidarity to bring even greater meaning to our pledge." Students and other voices, including members of the Corporation who failed to weigh in, could have also helped Yale think and act like the globalinstitution it aims to be; to alignitself with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and the work he is doing to assure a global pricing protocol on carbon.Leadership Lesson #3: The Importance of Doing the Right Thing. The decision to divest is aquestion of morality, not markets. The financial impact--either way--is nil. In the context of a great University that stands for science, taking a boldact now is the right thing to do. A call to divest has much more visibility and impact than the decision topass the buckalong to outside money managers, which the endowment has now been instructed to do.Yale's Administration has failed to see Climate for what it is: a moral issue that will cause irreparable damage to the people least able to tolerate it, and that is already contributing to greater human suffering and real political conflicts that are destabilizing.Rather than stand tall andusethe Yale brand, the Administration chose toprotectthe brand on a divisive issue -- sitting with the rest of the Ivies and rearranging deck chairs (which will no doubt look beautiful as the ship sinks).Yale has no reason to be afraid of using its voice, when an entire parade of voices is needed. It will energize students, alumni AND set the institution apart.Judith Samuelson (Yale School of Management, Class of '82)

Like Sen David Mark, he would help to uplift the Tiv people to lime light and give jobs to our teaming youths. That Tiv man is definitely not Sen George Akume who is a drunk and grossly irresponsible. He is violent and quarrelsome. Even in churches, he uses obscene language to abuse Elders. I witnessed that in the Catholic Cathedral in Gboko. This apart, he lacks democratic credentials. He is corrupt and violent. During his tenure as Governor, he caused the deaths of many youths in Kwande and Tarkaa LGA who wereopposed to him. He is violently intolerant. His handling of the fanthom Egumale Cement Factory, Sheraton Hotel Project, Fertiliser Blending Plant, Benkim Pastic Factory etc all in Benue State, in which huge sums of Tax Payers money was paid with no job done, brings his integrity to question. I still have all relevant documentsin my possession.Although I can not influence or prevent the appointment of Sen Akume as Senate President, I will wait and assess Gen Buhari’s approach to cases of corruption before I re validate my complaint against Sen George Akume.

Thing is that I quit my job with the government (long story), having registered a LLC, I knew there would be challenges because of my background in the core civil service where u push them files, this thread found me and has explained a lot of what I only have scanty ideas about. I want to thank you @databoy247 and @scantee for taking time out to add value to my life. @databoy247, I will be in touch via wassap portal. Keep up the good work and may God reward you. I guess you are really doing KINGDOM work to the GLORY of God by adding value.
Thanks again.

I am interested in orange distribution for the now and cassava farming. I have done a dry run in the distribution of orange in Abuja outside the open market and take on cabals is so true, so is the take down of the security forces who must collect their own. what I want to know is how do I get specific information in terms of how to sort and pack oranges. I am sorely lackin on that plus how do I avoid joining the unions and operate without harassment?

Literature / Benue State Governorship Candidate Of The Pdp For The 2015 Polls by makyegh(m): 11:37am On Dec 31, 2014
NAIRLANDERS TAKE NOTICE!

The 2015 polls are set for 14th February 2015 and a listing of the names of those who won tickets in the political parties has been severally published by all kinds of media. Some candidates are more popular than others, there is no doubt about this, thus Nairalanders, you may not have known him beyond the odd picture and his name.

Here is presenting Prince Terhemen Tarzoor pictured here with D'banj in Makurdi during the 2014 Christmas celebrations. He has consistently identified with youth throughout his political career. Adequately educated, Prince Tarzoor recognizes the monumental challenges that Benue faces and is willing to commit himself to move the state forward. The least anyone of us can do is chime in one way or another to support him move the state forward.

Prince Tarzoor will hopefully become governor in 2015 and lead Benue to a better tomorrow.

Politics / Re: Upgraded Lagos Domestic Airport Is Crumbling by makyegh(m): 9:47am On Feb 06, 2013
funken: As much as I applaud the GEJ govt for "upgrading" the airports, the new domestic airport in Lagos is already showing signs of decay. I came in from Port Harcourt this evening and i went into the gents of the arrival lounge to ease myself. Lo and behold, one of the 3 wash hand sinks is already so badly cracked that it could fall apart any moment from now. And this is from an airport that was just commissioned only a few months ago.

I now took my time to take a look at the whole arrival lounge as a whole and I found out that these contractors did a completely shoddy job. The paint job is whack and looking up at the roof, I found so many markings as to wonder if work was actually completed on the roof.

Why are we so mediocre in Nigeria? Who certified these jobs because they were obviously done with substandard materials. And to think that billions of naira was actually budgeted and spent on this airport.

Sincere9ja, taharqa and the Nairaland forum hounds before you start criticizing me and mudslinging, these are just genuine concerns that require answers, and if you've got those answers pls pray tell...
Where are the pictures to support your claims as well as give the rest of us a mental picture plus proof of what you saw? This is not to detract from your claim but to further support you claim with pictoral evidence in case some one in the Aviation industry were to ask these questions. The point is, beside reportin this fact, you should get pictures to back the fact.w

This is totally unacceptable. There has got to be limit as to what is acceptable as a covering for religious purposes. I personally feel the Burqa too much potential for danger. The Hijab should be enough, at least then you can tel who is what.

thoth: How can 500 be collected monthly ? For what ? What maintenance are they doing ? The average african man always shoots himself in the eye not to talk of the foot. Why would the tariff be 13 naira ?
When a black man gets shafted he finds a reason to justify getting cheated. You compare how much you spend on diesel with how much you are supposed to pay for electricity ? How stupid can a human being be ? Ask yourself , are you supposed to be using generators ? On what ground can the two sources be compared ? Why was the price of gas that high ?
They want to shaft you on fuel subsidy and you compare how much UK citizens buy fuel to yourselves as if you have the same minimum wage as them. Now when they succeed to hike the price of gas due to your stupidity then you start comparing the price of gas to the price of electricity. In a country whereby the minimum wage is just 18K and a family man is supposed to say 30k per month on electricity ?
Nigerians really need to suffer to their breaking point before they ever get intelligent. Keep comparing.

I'm disappointed that no one bothered to follow up on this bit that was thrown up here. The matter of 500 naira fixed charge. This charge used to be 75naira per month and was jacked to 500naira plus as @edorgan found out if you have enough power units to last you months, you'll have to pay for the months in between when you did buy power. So if you go away on holiday and your power is turned of maybe except for your security lighting you still have to pay fixed charge for the number of months you were away. If Nnaji or whoever sholud be taken seriously, how does this compare to the use of phones where you pay for what you use or is it like those days when MTN was aided by Ndukwe to rob Nigerians?? I chose to challenge this matter, I'm just trying to find out who is it I'll address.
