When one sees beautiful infrastructures like these here, and elsewhere in Nigeria, there's the feeling that it's wrong the saying sometimes that Nigeria's politicians stole most of the oil money.

I Have Completed All Projects Abandoned By My Predecessors- Gov Okorocha

Gov Rochas Okorocha In An Interactive Meeting With Imo State Based Journalists, Correspondents and Publishers

The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Acho Ihim, SGI, Sir George Eche, Chief of Staff, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, Comissioners and other apostles of the Rescue Mission Government too numerous too mention are in attendance.

Here are some quotes from Governor Okorocha’s ongoing regular interaction with Imo based journalists, correspondents and publishers.

For me, honor is more than life and glory more than wealth.

In Owerri city, you cannot find a shanty public primary or secondary school. We have reconstructed all schools within the capital city. We have also built new schools from the scratch like the Young Scientists College, Imo Girls College etc.

We have recruited 12,000 teachers including the Youth Must Work teachers to reduce the shortage of teachers in our schools.

We have built, equipped a new College of Nursing Science in Orlu.

Almost all the 27 general hospitals in the state are 80% completed furnished with equipment ongoing. We intend to make Imo a health tourist destination. The Oshiedike Medical Diagnostic Centre is 100% the property of the Imo State Government.

Government House before my emergence was akin to a glorified local government headquarters. The entire landscape of Imo State Government House has changed.

The Government House Chapel is a project very close to my heart. We are not ashamed of the word of God.

Owerri has witnessed remarkable changes, from Warehouse Roundabout to Assumpta, Nze Junction Government House, IMSU Junction, Mbaise Road, Emmanuel College etc. These roundabouts have reduced vehicular traffic. From Amakohia to Warehouse junction etc. We have 5 inland roads from New Owerri to the city. We now have water falls. We now have two flyovers in the city.

Foundation Road is under construction and leads from Mbaise Road to MCC down to Orji Flyover to Amakohia Flyover upto Onitsha road. This is a bypass that will decongest the city.

Imo State is the busiest state in the South-East today. We now host major international and national events like NBA, CAN conferences etc owing to the construction of the Imo International Convention Centre, IICC.

At New Owerri axis, we have several projects like the new judiciary headquarters named Oputa Court under construction, ISOPADEC headquarters completed and in use. We have the 5 inland roads leading to and outside the city from New Owerri.

We have the Artisan City at Naze where handbags, shoes will be produced. We are attracting our people from Aba to invest here in Imo by providing an enabling environment for them to ply their trade.

We are building an "Alaba Market" to start before the end of the year. We are attracting our sons and daughters in Alaba International Market to return home and invest.

The new Concord Hotel is beautiful and recovered project of Dee Sam Mbakwe.

We have completed all abandoned projects of our predecessors.

Our local government headquarters have changed.

We have rescued Works Layout from flood and tarred the roads there.

We have one of the best liaison office in Abuja. We where in a rented apartment until we completed our Liaison Office which has since been put to use.

We properly utilised our bail out funds.

Mark my words, when am done with my second term, Owerri will be one of the best cities in Nigeria.
Something is missing about the governor;
I mean:

a state governor makes a public speech about his development projects in his state;

more than 95% of his speech and development projects he mentioned are in the state capital alone.

The confusion continues.
Instead of Police to release story of arrest of worse criminal terrorists who for religious motives massacred people in Nimbo, Enugu state;
Police mixed the arrest story with another arrest story of armed robbers because one or two of the robbers bear Igbo names.

Bubu's administration is full of deceptions.

Come see the level of degeneration of what some sets of Nigerians see as symbol of development in their cities.

Fly over is NOT a symbol of development in a city.
In many cases, it is a symptom of chaotic and unplanned cities.

No modern town planner can see space for roundabout or traffic lights, but go to build flyover
PoliticsRe: First Imo State Flyover 100% Ready by mandax: 11:45pm On May 24, 2016
In the same Orlu urban Lga, this only road to the state's university teaching hospital has remained like this in the past four years. All pleas to gov. Okorocha, including demonstrations by IMSUTH students to have the road repaired fell on deaf ears.

PoliticsRe: First Imo State Flyover 100% Ready by mandax: 11:38pm On May 24, 2016
Chiwude:
Yeah the Orlu road flyover is still under construction. The completed one is located at Okigwe road. The two flyovers are part of a long stretch dual carriage way connecting inner Owerri (Aladinma, Egbu road and Ugwu-Orji) with Onitsha expressway section of Egbeada (new Owerri).
I think the project was initiated by Ohakim and completed by Rochas. However, my only fear is that the flyover is of substandard quality. You don't give local engineers such kind of gigantic project to construct.
Yeah Owerrians now the enjoy flyovers; flyovers where roundabouts or even traffic lights could have been constructed, and money saved.

In the same Imo state - Orlu to be precise, What this govt did was dig this menacing hole at the centre of Orlu for rain floods, instead of completing a 800 meter gutters that link to a valley for urban drainage system started by former Gov. Ikwechegh

Money used to build about half of one lane for one of these Owerri flyovers could be enough to complete the gutter in Orlu.

This St Joseph's Catholic Church at the centre of Orlu risks collapse (God forbid, with hundreds of worshipers inside), because the grounds surrounding the entire church are all wet from rain floods. The floods worsened since earth was moved around the area by present state govt; the road it moved the earth for was not completed.

Rochas Okorocha got the highest number of votes in Orlu Urban Lga, more than in any other Lga in Imo state.

Any one that has Buhari's ears is Obasanjo's pal.

$16 billion missing from the energy sector alone during the last OBJ admin.

Halliburton is a clear-cut indictment of OBJ

Halliburton scandal is being swept underground by Buhari.

Others included in the bribery scandal are already in prison, but OBJ circulates near Nigeria's seat of power to avoid prosecution.

NYSCRe: My Experience As A Corp Member In Benue State. by mandax: 1:03pm On May 23, 2016
Leriebloom:
I remember the first time I saw my call up letter,I felt like the whole world had trembled on my feet. I felt sad and angry, ready to pour out my anger on anybody who came my way.
I remember not being serious about the whole camp thing anymore. I remember buying all my things a day before leaving.
At first,I was a bit confused on how I was going to get to the camp in Benue state. I remember going to the NYSC section on NL searching for corp members who were posted to the same state. Luckily for me, I found a bunch of then and I was added to a whatsapp group which was created by one of the monikers.
I remember silently following the group up,hardly ever dropping comments. I found out they were going to be leaving on the 25th of April which was on a Monday, and as at Monday, I had not bought a thing, so I crossed traveling with them out of the plan..
My brother booked a flight for me to Enugu even if I kept telling him that Abuja was faster but he said no,that Enugu was closer. So he finally booked the flight on a Tuesday by 8am. I received a call from my uncle who works with the air force that there was an air force flight leaving for makurdi that Wednesday so I grabbed the opportunity.
I left for Benue the next day and I arrived in Makurdi less than an hour.

FIRST EXPERIENCE IN BENUE
When we landed in the air force base, I came down looking confused trying to call my uncle. And at that moment I heard a masculine voice.
"You, come here" I turned around to look at who was talking.
"Yea, are you not Valerie, D****a's niece?" he asked and I answered immediately,
"Yes I am" and that was when I got a text from my uncle telling me that his friend would help me down to Wannune.
My uncle's friend helped me with my extremely big box which I later started regretting I carried. While driving me down to wannune, his friend asked where I would be crashing that night, I told him that I would be sleeping in camp. He started asking questions like would they attend to me, telling me I could sleep in his place. I told him that they should attend to me. This was when the story changed. He told me my uncle didn't need to know and I just knew that something was up with this man. He started asking questions like why I was acting so uptight, asking if I had a boyfriend. I stared at him straight up and told him "i am not in a relationship and I would be okay when I get to camp", he dropped me without any further comments.
Well done.

Some nasty girls could have hopped on the bed with that man.
Such nasty girls feel: after all, the V..doesn't have meter to count how many men that passed through it before they get to their future husband.

If those holier-than-thou Western Intelligence units truly had information about the location of the Chibok girls, why couldn't they use all the resources they had to free the girls if the girls truly mattered to them?

These Western people are yet to say it as it is: every thing about Chibok kidnap is a political scam aimed to transfer Nigeria's highest political office to a northern Muslim president.

Western businesses benefit most from Nigeria and its oil resources whenever a northern Muslim president is in control of Nigeria. That's the reality.

You gave the answer in 1st paragraph.

Having good roads, steady light, access to clean water, standard of living of the people, or by recreational centers, security, service industry(hotels, good transport, eateries, mail, plaza)
..

When a state governor like your friend, Rochas Okorocha believes that only the state capital, Owerri, that houses less than 10% of population of entire Imo population, is worthy to be provided with modern development infrastructure, is he providing for the people all over the state?

From Okorocha's recent speeches to the media, every new day, Okorocha furthers his shrinking to being the Mayor of Owerri Metropolis, than being the governor of Imo state.
PoliticsRe: 10 Infrastructurally Most Advanced Cities In Nigeria. by mandax: 2:43pm On May 22, 2016
Owerri is sucking dry the rest of the towns and Lgas in Imo state. By accident, all five universities and polytechnics in Imo state got located only in Owerri mostly during the military administrations.
Owerri now fights any governor of the state who thought of relocating any one of the tertiary institutions to a place outside Owerri area.

Nearly every infrastructure in Imo state is in Owerri.

The present governor Okorocha worsened every thing as he no longer see any other place outside Owerri as part of Imo state deserving of development infrastructure. Okorocha government even establishes more government tertiary institutions in or near Owerri.

The rest of Imo state outside Owerri remain pre-independence status or glorified villages.
PoliticsRe: Who Can Defeat Buhari In 2019? by mandax: 2:24pm On May 22, 2016
Southern Nigerians appear the most apolitical groups in Nigeria.

Any election in Nigeria, unless north doesn't want a northerner to be president, no southern Nigerian candidate can dream of becoming president.

With the new political structure of 20 states in the north but only 17 states in the once two southern regions, usually one north in elections is assured of any presidential election win for a northern candidate

Southern Nigerians don't even understand that land mass can't be used as criterion to create new federating units, as used in creating the 36 states in Nigeria.

Three senators from each state, that leaves northern Nigeria over populating the two chambers of the National Assembly.
Thus no political restructuring can be done unless northern Nigeria is overwhelmingly favoured.
PoliticsRe: Who Can Defeat Buhari In 2019? by mandax: 2:13pm On May 22, 2016
No Nigerian can defeat Buhari or indeed, any northern president, so long as north wanted power to remain in the north.

With 20 states proliferated in the north by northern Nigeria Military Heads of State, all a northern presidential candidate needs is just five states in the south to win the presidency...

Northern military generals who created the 36 states fccucked the south of Nigeria.
But irony is that about 90% of southern Nigerians do not understand that the south started to be fccucked by the north through proliferation of undue large number of states in once one northern region of Nigeria.

But since the arrest was done by a man they hate for booting their hero out of power, they freely took to the streets to express their anger for an election loss under the guise of #FreeKanu.

I guess they are tired of protesting that's why they've all returned to their businesses, thereby condemning kanu to the deepest part of the dungeon until he kisses buhari's wrinkled butt.

PoliticsRe: Jonathan’s Loss Triggered Biafra Agitations, Says Adesina by mandax: 9:03pm On May 21, 2016
Adesina lies again.

Biafra agitation started anew about the time 12 northern Nigeria states adopted sharia criminal justice system during the Obasanjo administration.
Obasanjo ignored the unconstitutional sharia by saying it was political sharia which should disappear with time.
It didn't disappear. It gave birth to Boko Haram.

Nigeria has spent a fortune fighting Boko Haram.

The arrest of Nnamdi Kalu by Buhari's DSS provoked the recent Biafra street protests.

PoliticsRe: Block Sale Of Warplanes To Nigeria - New York Times Tells Obama by mandax: 8:31pm On May 19, 2016
It's only a government headed by an Islamic president that can sell weapons to President Muhammadu Buhari of known bent to extreme Islam.

This is how the US armed Afghanistan which consequently gave rise to arming the Taliban which trained Al-Qaeda.

This is how the US armed Sadam Hussein who oppressed the Kurds and was using chemical weapons and US fighters to spread the chemical weapons on the Kurds.

Today, the Kurds are helping the US fight ISIS which rose from crisis in Iraq

Buhari is an intolerant and old Muslim extremist.
Nigeria has no enemy neighbours.

If Obama is arming Buhari, sure Obama is arming Buhari against US interests; because the arms may end up in the hands of the enemies of the US.

Boko Haram hast gone since Buhari won presidential election. We know why.

Even Buhari confirmed that Boko Haram is gone.

Sam Okwaraji,
Rest in Peace.

Your state governor from your lga built a stadium through a reputable firm and called it Sam Okwaraji Stadium, Orlu..

One of the earliest acts of the present governor, Rochas Okorocha, from Ideato South lga, when he became governor of Imo state was set up a Commission of Inquiry to investigate why and how the stadium was built.

Hardly had the Commission submitted its Report when Okorocha ordered for the dismantling of the stadium.
The carcass of the stadium is what is left today.

Five years after, no sports stadium exists in Orlu.

Okorocha has since then built three stadium-like Squares in Owerri .
