Yet people lie that Orlu has not changed. Though most are short in distance, Orlu seems to have up to 6 dualized major roads with streetlights. That beats some major cities and State capitals
Orlu changed with the dualized streets. But once out of the dualized streets and a few others, it is hell. A lot of the inner roads are not motor-able.

Obasanjo is an attention seeker and the media will be better off without giving him constant attention.... He talks like he never had the chance to put things correctly......

He should emulate past leaders by keeping quiet..... Soon, with all these constant rubbish he is spilling, he will be irrelevant.....
Former good leaders with open mind usually approach the incumbent govt to help the govt and the country resolve whatever problems there are in the country. But OBJ goes to the public to spew bile against Jonathan; as if Jonathan is a commoner he picked on the street and made from VP to President.
PoliticsRe: Obasanjo: “What I Found Out About Boko Haram” by mandax: 9:40pm On Feb 16, 2015
Obasanjo, the more you campaign to return Nigeria to your fellow dictators, the more your Buhari is despised. Watch as APC/Buhari is booed in SW recently.

If APC is to blame for a federal university and the NUC having issues....then that means you think APC is in charge of the Federal Govt.

Your argument would have had more sense if it was an Imo state owned university like IMSU, or IMT. Not FUTO which is run by Abuja.

Again...blaming APC means that you recognize Buhari as your President.

Perhaps Nigeria is not progressing because we love to blame our mistakes on others.

An Aesop is there...somewhere.

Good evening..
PDP govt appears more insensitive. it carries on expansion of tertiary education facilities in Imo state, including in FUTO only in already crowded Owerri; and despite the opposition from a few indegenes who now understand that enough is enough, and despite the cry of other areas in Imo state to benefit from the expansion.

When did futo become frustration Under tension huh

You better rent a houz in obinze and live a normal life.
Lol!! Indigenes drive to rent houses to students -

Hoteliers drive to outdo others in the business -

these are mostly behind the wahala of tertiary education in Imo state, the wahala arising from massing up about a hundred and twenty thousand students around one small town, as if no land exists elsewhere in the state outside this Owerri.
EducationRe: Open Letter To NUC By Graduates Of FUTO Environmental Technology Department by mandax: 8:00pm On Feb 16, 2015
Expansion time for tertiary institutions in Owerri, indegenes of Owerri and landlords fight every govt that tried to expand education institutions and facilities to other places in the state outside Owerri.

FUTO problems, like the one in question, usually revolve around the same problems in having five or so universities and polytechnics in Imo state with a student population of about a hundred and twenty thousand, all massed up in and around a small town like Owerri.

That's taking Nigeria to Ridiculous level.

Well, Boko started from Borno, Chibok girls were kidnapped in Borno to make Jonathan look like a weak president.

Now, Borno govt declare holiday for its people to celebrate victory as Buhari is coming, because they believe Boko has eventually landed Buhari to Aso Rock.

Chibok girls were purposely kidnapped to make Nigerians believe that GEJ cannot protect Nigerians, and thus make Nigeria's electorate vote out Goodluck Jonathan for Muhammadu Buhari to become president. In what other country do insurgents kidnap their fellow country girls - only in Nigeria

Did we complete any rail project in 2006?

OBJ started the modernisation of Lagos-Kano rail. When Yar Adua came, he suspended the contract siting irregularities in the award. he also abandoned the NIPP.
When Jona took over, he vowed to do his best with all abandoned project, about 12000 of them. He chose the most pertinent ones.

Remember, only a section of the Lagos-kano line was awarded by OBJ. The remaining part was redesigned and awarded by GEJ.

Abuja -Kaduna is entirely new sir. smiley
In bold. it is on record: late President Yar'Adua terminated nearly all projects of OBJ, then fell sick and never recovered. GEJ started afresh when he became president. Don't mind the APC mega pieces.

For a change I have something to post because I have just come back to Lagos from Owerri. I usually try to go back every year at least once to show presence and check on the progress of the projects we are involved in. So I saw a new Owerri (for background let me state that even though I was born in Lagos, a wu m onye Owere, my father had a house and a business in Owerri and we used to visit every year in August and I am very, very familiar with the town). Now Owerri looks quite different from how it was the last time I was there in 2013. And of course it has changed very much from the sleepy old town I first became familiar with back in '82 or so.

There is quite a lot of impressive development in the New Owerri area; Rochas seems to have given up on Old Owerri, which now wears an abandoned look to me. I used to be able to drive around Owerri - now I dont know anywhere in New Owerri. So many hotels and bars and joints; my friends took me around some and I honestly can't find my way back there again on my own (Oh, I visited the new Ibari Ogwa, I was most impressed to see what the owner has done with all the nkwobi money we used to drop back then in the late 90s or so on Tetlow!).

I was distressed to see that the state library was demolished to make way for a structure of indefinite function. However, I was pleased to note that there are quite a number of new roads that have been opened up here and there which do make getting around quite easier. I found a new road from the airport running through my village straight to Ulakwo junction. Yes, its one of the so-called "China" roads, but at least we hope it will serve us for a while before it goes the way of all China products. We took a new road from Naze junction straight into Egbu Road or so; the seamless connection was lovely.

Apart from the abandonment of Old Owerri, I cant really complain much about Rochas' development, it does seem to lack focus and planning, to me Owerri now looks like Awka or Gusau (an old town that suddenly sprouted a lot of development due to status change, becoming a capital or something like that). Wetherell Road looks horrible now, rampant unchecked development with strange buildings springing up here and there. However, all in all, I suppose that the new roads everywhere are the best feature of the new arrangement, and I give him a pass mark there.

If I were to be in Imo for the elections, I suppose I would vote for Rochas again. If only as the best of a bad lot (what I hear about Ihedioha gives me nightmares, and I didnt get the impression that Captain Ihenacho is running a serious campaign). He may b providing cosmetic "China" changes, but they are at least better than what the previous incumbents did.

Just my penny n'afu.
A true testimony of an Owerri man about Rochas huge development in Imo (Owerri). Significant that the testimony began and ended with Owerri - as if that's all about Imo state. Anyhow, ORO shall win votes in Owerri for his development. LOL.

If Rochas had given any where in Orlu zone about one-twentieth (1/20) of his development efforts in Owerri, any Orlu person that complains against Rochas must be branded an ingrate.

For now, only Orlu talakawas who have never seen double lane roads and street light anywhere in Orlu zone before shall sing praises to Rochas govt development.

APC is a satanic party. Just look around you and ask yourself; where do they get money to run the massive advertisements going on all over the country?.

1. Remember, Buhari said he have only N1 million in his bank account and that he borrowed N27 million from bank to obtain presidency election form. Yet, Buhari's wife recently donated N137 million to an organization in Adamawa.

2. APC said they have no money and was going to sell some yams to raise campaign money. But, over the last 6 months alone APC have spent over $30 billion on election campaigns.

This party is so corrupt that they even hacked into INEC database to steal information to rig elections.

A party where you can forge documents to win election and it wouldn't matter.

APC is the worst thing to happen to Nigeria lately.
Since February 2013, infrastructural development in nearly all APC states have ground to a near halt. State allocations and IGR have been channeled to APC secretariat to generate false propaganda against one man: Goodluck Jonathan.

Who is even afraid of a president Buhari? Did you observe the crude manner Buhari waved off an Oyibo journalist two days ago, as Buhari arrogantly said: "what is Boko Haram?"- and walked away from the Oyibo, leaving the Oyibo journalist perplexed?

Buhari is not even president yet, but he is already behaving above norm because he senses there are more supporters for him now than before; therefore, make Buhari president of Nigeria this time, Idi Amin shall be better dictator than Buhari.

Guy, write whatever u want, publish whatever list of Jonathan govt accomplishments, even if the list touches the sky, those ignoramuses and selfish people who want Jonathan out of Aso Rock cannot change. For wanting to bring a man like Buhari to rule Nigeria, HATRED for Jonathan and HATRED for some people he places in high position in his govt are in the details.

Those who want Buhari - the barcanistas and co. - have chosen the devil's alternative, nothing can change them unless Jonathan with his crew leaves Aso Rock.

It is not politics of achievements in Nigeria, it is crude tribal politics at play.

but you substantiated already with the pictures of dusty and non-tared roads in Okporo and Ihitenansa. too many roads in Orlu urban are like that.

below are inside Orlu also.
how many years shall it take a govt to finish a small stadium like this? It was started by ORO about three years ago in Orlu.

@ UknownT, Yes, Orlu may vote ORO again to complete the projects, but if he wins and refuses to complete them, he may be foreclosing the road for another person from ORO's Ideato coming in the name of Orlu zone again to vie for governor of Imo state.

Developmental pictures would make more sense than these ones you are uploading. What concerns us with Biafran flags in Okporo or Ofoma bread? Was in Orie Okporo last month to buy Ram for a traditional wedding, the sellers had burial that day so we were directed to the home of one major Hausa Ram seller in the market. The road to his home almost spoilt the car exhaust.
in bold: there are up to 50 of such roads not ever tarred but nearly fully built with houses throughout Orlu LGA, and mostly in the urban centre. people in Orlu suffer a lot gior. Udenwa tarred many roads in Orlu but now spoiled; Okorocha only expanded the three or four town roads, that is all.

the votes in Owerri zone shall be shared by the three major gov candidates next election. votes from Orlu shall play important role. but if Orlu vote to make Okorocha gov for second term, shall he work to stop the suffering of people living in Orlu, or continue as usual?

Same old story by political soldiers.

Truth is that:

1, without sabotage, only a battalion of Nigerian soldiers armed with crude guns alone could have defeated Boko Haram.

2, some sets of Nigerians sabotage Nigeria army fight against Boko Haram.

3,the saboteurs do so because they share the same religious objective with Boko Haram for a country governed with sharia criminal codes.

4, these soldiers writing petition and granting interview to the media flout military regulations.

5, these soldiers petitioning foreign interests are doing so for the interest of APC and power shift, just like the interest of many Boko Haram fighters.
