AFTER THE OKADA BAN - PLANS BY LAGOS STATE GOVT.

There are plans by the Lagos State Govt to provide registered Okada Riders with LASRAA and NURTW Identification Card with new mini buses as a way to curb the menace of unemployment.

The mini buses will be given to riders who can prove they can drive and possess valid driver license.

For those interested, visit room 305, block F at the Lagos State Secretariat in Alausa, Ikeja to get a Free Registration Form. When you get there, ask of Mrs. Omobolanle.

If possible, get a letter of introduction from your local govt chairman, local chief or oba or any elected leader or politician.

The registration process closes February 14th 2020.

Kindly note that there are over 10,000 buses to be bought so share this information widely to your family, friends and relations who are affected by the okada ban.

Since the restriction on the operations of commercial motorcycles and tricycles on the 1st of February, 2020 as promulgated by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Lagosians of different economic and social classes have been feeling the scathing heat, although at different degrees.

For now, going to work everyday has become more difficult, strenuous and expensive for Lagosians. From the look of things, people might be staying indoors more on weekends except occasions they need to attend are very important. As Sanwo-Olu remains resolute about his decision to ban Okada and Keke, a massive protest has been planned this weekend to mount serious pressure on him.

let the protest hold, we will all wait for the outcome, banning of this okada riders is not a bad step, however creating alternatives for them before the ban would have been a great move. now families of 100 of thousands of riders are now in pain and anger and will start opting for different illegal means of survival

You will even see some of them walking to there office from the train station (1 or 2km away) without complain.
