CrimeRe: Robbers (inside Commercial Bus) Took Their Victims To ATM Point To Withdraw Cash by manie(m): 11:52am On Mar 19, 2015
Lionhearted:
Why not link two account to a single ATM card? As in current and savings account to a card.

If ever the need arise just select the account having little or no money.
Since 2 accounts ie current and saivings are linked to a single ATM, once you give your pin number to robbers they can easily withdraw from any of the accounts be it current or saving.

That is if you are not kidnapped when they see like 1 million Naira balance or more in your account. They will kidnap the account holder until they withdraw every kobo in the account.

My brother fell a victim yesterday morning, one the person that gave them a wrong pin was beating mercilessly, this a new device ,people should stop going out with their ATM cards mostly early morning or late at night, they remove 100k from my brother account ,some people always hav their card with them even when there is no reason for that, keep you ATM card at home when you don t need it
I think it is safer in the office.

i dey come make i go put my ATM for house
I read in the newspaper about an engineer with NNPC in Abuja, who was robbed and kidnapped by robbers while driving to Lokoja from Abuja. The robbers made a total withdrawal of N1.2 million from his ATM card over a period of about 2 weeks. This occurred in 2012, now what the robber need do is just to transfer money from their victims' account via ATM transfer.

Commuters that leave early often fall victim of these robbers operating with commercial bus. Prior to the advent of ATM card, they dispossess their victims of their phones, cash and other personal effects. But, what they do now is to collect ATM Cards and Pin of their victims, while the victims are in the bus, they take the cards to the mahine and empty their victims accounts. Another one just happened to a friend this morning, she was picked form Opebi going to maryland but suddenly they changed direction and took her to Adeniyi Jones, ikeja. Her ATM card was collected with the pin while she was held hostage in the bus, one of the robbers went to the ATM and withdrew maximum limit for the day.

What can be done to overcome this crime? What can the banks do to forstall this crime? The use token number to withdraw more than a particular limit a day e.g N20k or some security check should be introduced.
That is why I do not move with my ATM cards that have substantial amount of money in them, the one I move out with usually have a maximum amount of just 50k.

"Akinsanya says that normal body temperature of the body is between 34 and 37 oC while that of cold water is usually between zero and two degrees Celsius and this sudden change in temperature levels, which usually happens when we drink cold water, shocks the body, leading to chronic diseases in those who drink it over time"

Sometimes science makes one wonder.
The scenario above happens when we take chilled water under hot weather condition but does not seem to happen when we take hot water and tea in winter cold alaskan weather condition abi?
Abegi!!!
Human beings are Homothermic, whether the environmental temperature is hot or cold, a normal person should have a temperature range of 34 to 37 celsius

No! They were sacked to cut cost. You employ contract staff who you will pay far less and will do more job.

Why pay someone N150,000 to do a job and the person will be frowning and thinking he is doing his employers a favor when you can employ 3 people and pay them N50,000 each and they will work extremely hard.

OUTSOURCING IS THE WAY OUT ALL OVER THE WORLD.
The latest move by the company ought to have a positive impact on the bottom line and shareholders will be better for it.

Sacked on what grounds or basis please......was it performance based or just restructuring. ..
Restructuring is more like it, I think this is good news for investors of this company.

I will never value any company that never values their staffhuh
Do not expect anybody to value you, it your duty to value yourself and add value to anybody you work for. When a truly valuable worker is sacked, it is usually a blessing in disguise for such a worker.

What I don't seem to understand is that why sack people and then go out to employ another set....is it that the workers were sacked because they are not capable? Or what?
They sacked old hands, in order to employ younger and cheaper workers.

Thanks for your input. I appreciate every word of advice you've offered on here, but please, if u were in my shoes , given the school area and estimated salary range (20-45k) of many other schools in its locality, how much would u quote as minimum salary acceptable?
That is left for you to determine, what an employed applicant commands in the labour market is quite different from what an unemployed applicant will command. Try and have an idea of the salary structure that is obtainable in the place you applied to before deciding on your minimum acceptable salary

Aystarz:
20 to 45k. I am unemployed at the moment.
With this you can easily get the salary range paid by the school. Remember that you are not the only one invited for the interview, quote a figure which you think the school can afford. If the amount you asked for is lower than what the school pays, most good school will still pay you what is obtainable in their school.

Thanks, but I do not know anybody at the school . So, in truth, I do not know what to expect in terms of remuneration.
Try and be friendly with security-men, cleaners or drivers in the school if you do not know any teacher in the school, you can also make friends with people who know people working in the school.

Mind you the labour market is now very competitive, it will be very good if you have the needed information about the organisation you want to work.

How much are you currently earning, this will determine what you should ask for as a minimum income. What is the salary range paid by similar schools in that axis of the city?

Where is rose valley in Nigeria? I am guessing it is in Lagos. Where in Lagos? Location of the schools matters. For instance, if it is located in V.I, Ikoyi or Lekki do not go below the industry standard 60k minimum and 80k maximum. On the Mainland, stick with 45 depending on the location. Refer to the questions than prof.gday highlighted .All the best.
Depending on your experience, academic/professional qualifications, track records in the industry, area of specialization and the value you will add to the school, you may get 200k and above in V.I, Ikoyi or Lekki.

On the mainland you may even get less than 20k, it depends on the size of the school, school fees charged by the school, population of students, stage of the product life cycle of the school, what similar schools in the area are paying, vision of the owners and the financial muscles of the owners of the school.

Hello peeps. Finally, I got a call to come for an interview and micro-teaching by a school in alakija. However, they are looking for a Christian Religious Studies teacher. I have no problem with taking the job but my fear is in the remuneration package. CRS doesn't look like a subject that can fetch any teacher
a mouthwatering pay package, does it? By the way, I have never taught the subject , so I have no idea of what to expect. Please, my experienced teachers on here, how much should I set my mind on (minimally) as I set out for the school on Monday? 10k-15k-30k?
N.B: It's an average school.
Try and have an idea of the salary structure of the school, this will determine what you should ask for. You can get this information from teachers or friends of the school.

All posts av read so far shows dat most pipu work like hell n earn little. Let us gun for d big ones not all dis 15k to 30k slave teaching.
Som of u will crucify me for dis but its d truth cos am tired of earning peanuts in d name of teaching. maximum periods per week sud b 24 not all dis 30;36;40.
Teaching more than 25 periods in a week will definitely affect the efficiency of a teacher who teaches in a secondary school.

As per the salary paid by schools and other small business owners, I can tell you that the business environment in Nigeria is very hostile and we all have to respect entrepreneurs who against all odds decided to create value, render services, make products and generate employment opportunities for job seekers.
