Onabanj: Hmn-mn, APC b careful cos many ar out to destroy ur original plan of ''CHANGE" That is why people like Akpabio wants to join the party. The plan of people like Akpabio and Saraki is to destroy APC. APC made a mistake by admitting people like Saraki into their fold. |

bigerboy200: Politics isn't 1+1 = 2.. where will Atiku's ambition fly to?? All are thieves and we Nigerians should care less.. Atiku may decamp to PDP, but Saraki will definitely decamp to PDP and will be given the Presidential ticket of the party. But I doubt if he will win. |

angrybull: This is a very small company with higher potentiality for growth. Do you think if they remove unclaimed dividend from their future balance sheet this will not impact negatively on their bottom line? I will advice you to get the annual reports of the company for the past 2 years and try to understand their business. I am not in the position to know what will happen to this company in the next 5 years, but I have a feeling that the future is very bright for this company. |
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by manie(m): 6:48pm On Jun 24, 2015 |
angrybull: From your analysis above. One can deduce that Afriprud is investing with investors money ie money that is not theirs not even invested in their company only that the money is temporarily unclaimed by the owners. Now the regulatory body has instructed them to return all the unclaimed dividend. What do you think that will happen to their balance sheet in years to come. If they rely on unclaimed dividend for their business venture then with this policy, there is imminent danger! They earned N856 million from registrars income, they earned N11 from dividends, interest on term deposit is N353 million, interest on treasury bills is N376 million, interest on BA/CP is N317 million, interest on bonds is N260 million. They have less than 80 workers and the personnel cost is just N243 million. APR ie former UBA Securities that comprised of UBA Registrars now APR and UBA Capital now United Capital are well managed subsidiaries of the old UBA. |

manie: I was able to get mine for between N275 and N285. The other stocks I have on NASD are Afriland Properties and CSCS. Try and get the annual report of CSCS to have and an idea of the growth and money spinning ability of this company. CSCS is in charge of shares traded on NSE and NASD, also in charge of the FMD and the proposed commodity exchange. But the shares of CSCS are very difficult to get, I have just 8000 units. |

Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by manie(m): 6:29pm On Jun 24, 2015 |
angrybull: Yes, some OTC stocks are doing well but the problem is that OTC stocks can be easily manipulated unlike stocks in NSE because of very close monitoring by regulatory bodies ie SEC, CSCS etc. SEC and CSCS also monitors NASD. Most stocks on NASD are not good, but some are money spinners for the long term investors. |
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by manie(m): 6:28pm On Jun 24, 2015 |
davide470: WAMCO right? That have been the toast of the OTC market for a while now, as also seen in the recent BGL transaction.. Yes |
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by manie(m): 5:19pm On Jun 24, 2015 |
angrybull: Most Stocks value are fundamentally sound but the problem is the shambolic state of Nigeria economy. It pays more if u can cherry pick fundamentally healthy stocks at a fairly valued prices and nurture them for at least one to two years Some stocks on NASD are not doing badly for the long term investors. Currently have 3 stocks on NASD, one of them is now close to N300. The one selling for about N300 on NASD is more liquid than some stocks on NSE. |

mercylicious: Cyriacus, are u related to zebrudaya okorigwe nwodo alias 4.30? @ house, has d rule taken effect? Plz let's know the % of afriprud profit that is due to unclaimed div. Unclaimed dividends are not part of APR profit, but it is part of the money invested by APR. According to the annual report, APR has over N9.2 billion in cash, N5.4 billion in Treasury Bills, N13.7 billion in customers' deposits ie dividends, public offers returned money, intersts, they also have N10.9 billion as unclaimed dividend as at 31st December 2014 You can see that the company is small but it is sitting on huge cash, why you think say Uncle Tony make sure say his brother is a director in the company and this guy and another nominee of Tony are members of the 3 man committee of the board's investment and finance committee. |

yemcoguy: @op take the new job, there is every tendency that u might be retained plus its an eye opener to a more challenging environment. Believe in yourself and go for it That is how my friend left a job of 200k per month at First Bank, for another job of 730k per month at Intercontinental Bank in 2007. Even-though I advised him not to take the Intercontinental Bank job, because I doubted the ability of the bank to sustain that salary, based on their balance sheet and some other ratios that investors lookout for in a company's financial statement. Unfortunately my friend did not listen to me, he only earned the salary from Intercontinental for 6 months before he was suspended based on his inability to meet targets. After he was suspended for 3 months he was finally eased out of the company. The guy was jobless for 5 years, but now drives a cab that ply Ikeja to Airport. |

Mgbadike80: daviejay, i think ur engineer is misleading u, 6inches blocks still sell #80 while 9 is about 120, to be honest some places vary upwards and this is in neighboring Niger state. also masons charge about #25 per block. I'm not judging d man but investigate by ur self by going to a block industry and Mason joints. things are generally cheaper in d north. 6 inches blocks are sold for N150, while 9 inches blocks are sold for N170 in Lagos and some parts of Ogun staate. |

mufutau55: I think that is the normal rate in Lagos/Ogun area... you can probably cut it down.
Hajji M. I did at N40 per block laid in Ikorodu Lagos |
Properties › Re: My 3 Bedroom Bungalow Project by manie(m): 6:15pm On Jun 16, 2015 |
daviejay: Excavation = N30,000 9" Blocks = N135 6" Blocks = N120 Trip of sand = N15,000 Trip of gravel = N35,000. This is the quote the site Engineer got for me.
Please note that this is not fixed, as it depends on location and your bargaining power also... Where is this project located, the prices are very cheap. 6 inches blocks in Lagos is N150, while 9 inches blocks sell fot N170. |
