Shikenan ba, all the civil service organisations should emulate ASUU, develop their customize software and submit to FG. |
You cannot dictate to your employer the process and procedures of making your salary payment. ASUU is in a tight corner and is trying to cover it's tracks. Even the members are divided over whether to key in to the IPPIS or not |
Wouldn't they, ASUU, in their innovative senses, developed a software to track both the university building capacity- a prototype on how it can withstand a glabal academic standard and research-conduct atmosphere rather than this IPPIS of a thing. Funny how they quickly unveil their own payroll system after bogus handouts sales to students of knowledge. They should know they are employess of FG. An employee can't be a rightful decision-maker,it can only suggest the way better convincingly . It could be more than what I see anyway. |
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), has pledged its readiness to fully support any step that would eradicate corrupt practices from the university system. Biodun Ogunyemi, National President of the union, made the pledge while speaking at the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Forum in Abuja on Sunday. He was reacting to accusations that ASUU’s stance against the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS), a platform for the payment of workers’ wages, was an endorsement of corruption. President Muhammadu Buhari had, on October 8, directed all government employees to be enrolled into IPPIS to ensure accountability and curb corruption in the system. Mr Ogunyemi told NAN Editors that the union had developed a prototype of the IPPIS, called University Transparency and Accountability Solution (UTAS), which it urged the government to implement rather than the IPPIS. “In February 2014, after much debate about IPPIS, we told the government our reservations about IPPIS and the uniqueness of the universities. “We thought they agreed with us; they said we should nominate three people and they will also nominate three persons; and then we should come up with a platform that will be acceptable to ASUU. “We did not hear anything from them until in July 2019 when ASUU members were asked to enroll into the IPPIS. “The platform we had in mind is the one we have now started because they pushed us to the point of taking on the challenge. “ASUU will sponsor the development of that platform which we call University Transparency and Accountability Solution (UTAS). “UTAS came about as a way of showing them that we are not against the war against corruption; that ASUU fully supports any step that will nip corruption in the bud,’’ he said.https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/more-news/369399-ippis-ASUU-develops-own-software-utas-to-curb-corruption-in-universities.html? The Nigeria Wrestling Federation has received a $60,000 (N21.7m) grant from the United World Wrestling for the purchase of equipment. President of the Nigeria Wrestling Federation Hon. Daniel Baraladei Igali said in a communique after the Board’s meeting, that the grant will be used to purchase equipment for the Wrestling gymnasium and Complex in Yenogoa. ADVERTISEMENT “In our resolve to have a permanent training venue, for the past two years I have been constructing a wrestling gym and now an accommodation complex in Yenogoa. ADVERTISEMENT HOW OVER 5000 NIGERIA MEN HAVE PERMANENTLY OVERCOME TERRIBLE BEDROOM PERFORMANCE DUE TO THIS RECENT BRILLIANT DISCOVERY BY MEDICAL CONSULTANTS “We want the centre to also accommodate wrestlers from the West African region. Consequently, we applied to the UWW (United World Wrestling) for a grant to acquire some equipment for the training facility. $60,000 grant has been approved. It will be used to purchase a 150 KVA generator, wrestling mat, a fairly used bus and a few physical conditioning sports equipment. UWW will directly pay the suppliers. The Generator has already been delivered. “If we ever get $60,000 as grant, within 6 years, Nigeria will be one of the super powers in world wrestling in virtually all styles of wrestling”, Igali stated. The Nigerian military successfully repelled a Boko Haram attack on Damaturu, the Yobe State capital, an official has said. PREMIUM TIMES reported the panic in Damaturu as loud gunshots and artillery fire rented the air. Residents rushed into their houses and businesses closed hurriedly on Sunday evening while the attack occurred. While speaking on the attack, the spokesman of Sector II of Operation Lafiya Dole, Damaturu, Njoka Irabor, told PREMIUM TIMES that “the insurgents made an attempt to enter Damaturu from the northern flank of the town but were given a heavy blow by both air and ground troops.” Mr Irabor, an army captain, said Sunday night that Damaturu was now calm and “details of the attack will be relayed by tomorrow”. While the attack on Damaturu occurred, scores of vehicles trying to get to the town were stranded as the army blocked the roads leading into the town. Witnesses said more than 200 vehicles were stranded including the Borno State governor’s convoy along Damaturu-Maiduguri highway. Some journalists who were part of the governor’s convoy told PREMIUM TIMES that over 200 vehicles including commercial and private cars were held up at the entrance of Damaturu town at about 9 p.m. Governor Babagana Zulum was, however, not in the convoy, which was said to be travelling to Gombe where it would be joined by the Borno governor for a tour of Southern Borno. “Sir. please this is to inform you that presently military at Damaturu entrance from Maiduguri have closed and blocked the highway not allowing motorists entrance into Damaturu since 3-4 pm. Over 200 heavy and small private and commercial vehicles are stranded. Some are going for Xmas in Gombe, Yola, Kani, Kaduma, Abuja, Jos and others. Even Gov Zulum convoy is now stranded on the road in Damaturu. We learnt that intelligence said BHTs said they will enter Damaturu from Gashau axis but the military has not made any explanation yet. People helpless and afraid of being attacked by BHTs from the bushes at worst without any security with them. Govs Press Crew and Correspondents Chapel of NUJ are also on the convoy. Thanks. Please help these innocent motorists and passengers,” one of the journalists in the convoy wrote in a message to PREMIUM TIMEShttps://www.premiumtimesng.com/regional/nnorth-east/369473-military-repels-boko-haram-attack-on-damaturu-governors-convoy-200-other-vehicles-stranded.html? Bizibi:The united states is always interloping! We are independent country no matter our challenges. |
Goldencheese:Its better for them to concentrate on their own critical issues. But leave Africa and Nigeria in particular alone. |
A government that cannot put masked people everywhere to prevent impeachment of their president is putting a country that could arrest even a sitting law court on watch list....... Nigeria should equally put US on a watch list [ |
It is a common attitude of US fueling crisis in most part of the world , a hypocritical country! I admire the way presidency responded! Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria |
The presidency has again asked the U.S. to stop interfering in Nigeria’s matters.https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/369486-alleged-religious-persecution-presidency-tackles-u-s-says-no-one-appointed-america-world-police.html?
