Before going to Malaysia they knew the punishment for whatever crimes they have committed. I believe they prepared for the punishment. So let them face it. FG can try and save the innocent, if any, among them.. |
Amnesty International (AI) has identified 119 Nigerians among a total of 1,281 persons sentenced to death in Malaysia. AI gave the figure in its report titled, “Fatally flawed: Why Malaysia must abolish the death penalty.” It said the 1,281 death row inmates were being kept in 26 detention facilities across Malaysia. In Malaysia, 33 offences are punished with a death sentence. The AI report said the 119 Nigerians were convicted of hard drug-related offences. “As of 22 February 2019, 1,281 people were under sentence of death in Malaysia, held in 26 detention facilities across the country. A startling 44 percent (568) of all those under sentence of death were foreign nationals, from 43 countries. “Nationals from Nigeria made up 21 per cent of this group, with those from Indonesia (16 per cent), Iran (15 per cent), India (10 per cent), Philippines (eight per cent) and Thailand (six per cent) following suit. “A significant 73 per cent of all those under sentence of death have been convicted of drug trafficking under Section 39(b) of the Dangerous of Drugs Act, 1952 — an extremely high figure for an offence that does not even meet the threshold of the ‘most serious crimes’ under international law and standards and for which the death penalty must not be imposed,” AI said in the report. http://community.thenationonlineng.net/forum/shocking-119-nigerians-on-death-row-in-malaysia-amnesty-internati?fbclid= Mynd44 oam4j lalasticlala |

Niger Republic has banned the exportation of rice to Nigeria following the closure of Nigeria’s borders. Since August 20, 2019, Nigeria has closed its borders in four geopolitical zones across the country, which include South-South, South-West, North-Central and North-West. In his address during a joint press briefing in Abuja on Monday, the Comptroller-General, Nigerian Customs Service, Hameed Ali, revealed that Niger Republic recently banned the export of rice to Nigeria as a result of the closure. He said, “The government, through diplomatic channels will continue to engage our neighbours to agree to comply with ECOWAS Protocol on Transit. “Goods that are on the prohibition list in Nigeria, such as rice, used clothes, poultry products and vegetable oil should not be exported to the country. “As a result of this [border] closure, Niger Republic has already circulated an order banning exportation of rice in any form to Nigeria.” http://community.thenationonlineng.net/forum/breaking-niger-republic-protests-border-closure-bans-rice-export-?fbclid= Mynd44 oam4j lalasticlala |

Good development but The cost of constructing one km road in Nigeria is higher than anywhere in the world even though Nigeria do not have the worst soil topography....yet these roads got bad just six months after the construction work is completed. ..?? The supervisors from the ministry of works connive to cut conners with the road construction companies and do shoddy job. ..?? This is the reason why almost all the roads in Nigeria got bad at same time. ..?? The govt needs to look into this issue.. |

The Kano State Police Command has arrested eight suspects involved in the kidnapping and trafficking of nine children. The victims have been reunited with their relatives. The children, aged between two and 10 years, were kidnapped from various locations within the state capital and trafficked in Anambra State. The Commissioner of Police in the state, Ahmed Iliyasu, who handed the kids to their relatives, said some of them were abducted in 2014. Eight suspects were arrested in connection with the alleged kidnapping and trafficking of the children. Parading the suspects at the command’s headquarters, Iliyasu said one Sagir Mohammed Bako had alerted them about the mysterious disappearance of children from neighbourhoods across the state capital. According to him, the ring leader, Paul Onwe and his wife, Mercy while moving one of their kidnapped victims, Haruna Sagir Bako, to Onisha. The police chief stated that Bako was kidnapped on September 11, 2019, on his way home from Islamiyya School at Yankaba quarters, of the state capital. He added that the suspects’ confessions during interrogation led the command to extend its investigation to Anambra State where eight other trafficked children were sold. Ten-year-old Farouq, renamed Onyedikabo Ogbodo, shared his experience: “When Paul brought me to Onitsha, there was a man called Emma. I saw this one (pointing at one of the victims). There is another one that has gone. They were playing and Emma bought me Cheese balls before Aunty Ebere came and took me up and later took me to the hospital. Farooq, who could not recall the name of his biological father, said he was in Basic 4 in a primary school in Onitsha. Iliyasu said, “The suspects confessed to have conspired among themselves and kidnapped various children from areas like Sauna, Kwanar Jaba, Kawo, Hotoro, Yankaba and Dakata quarters, all within the Kano metropolis.’’ Among the suspects paraded for kidnapping and trafficking of children were Onwe, Mercy, Emmanuel Igwe, Ebere Ogbodo, Louisa Duru and Monica Orachaa. Onwe told journalists that he had made over N2 million kidnapping seven children and taking them to Anambra in the last five years. Each child he abducted, he claimed, was sold for N200,000. Onwe said the kids were sold to Ebere Ogbodo. The suspect, who hails from Ebonyi State, has lived in Kano since 1998. He told the journalists at the parade that Igwe introduced him to kidnapping. "This man (pointing at Igwe) introduced me to kidnapping. He told me that Madam Ebere Ogbodo, who was a restaurateur, needed a child because she didn’t have any. "Subsequently, I told my madam and she started searching. "The children I kidnapped were seven. For the first one, who was two years old then, she gave me N150,000. I took that one from Brigade, Kwanar Jaba side." Speaking, Ogbodo said, "I am a childless woman from Enugu State. I was crying because my husband sent me out when I met Emma and I told him about my problem. He said he had a brother whose wife was working in a motherless babies’ home. "He connected Paul to me and he told me that the children were brought from a motherless babies’ home. I put them in school. I bought two of them for N200,000." http://saharareporters.com/2019/10/13/how-kano-kids-were-kidnapped-trafficked-anambra-igbo-suspects-police? mynd44 oam4j lalasticlala |
Nukilia:I don't know why Nigeria and its people are always keen on anything America , while the Americans never take us seriously. Even during the civil war , the US , even though busy with Viatnam war, was more on the revel side . while the federal government was aided and supported by the Soviet Union. So history is nearly repeating itself |

Good move Dan Bagudu Alheri ne! |
The Kebbi Government is partnering the World Fish Programme to boost the fisheries potentials of the state. Gov. Abubakar Bagudu said while receiving officials of the programme in Birnin Kebbi that the state’s huge fisheries potentials were being affected by the effect of climate change. He noted that even the Matanfada river, where the Argungu International Fishing Festival takes place, is already drying up. Bagudu said in spite of the setback, the government was determined to invest in the sector as the “state has the potential to do much better in fishery, just like rice farming”. “We are going to improve fishing activities in the state because Kebbi is the home of farmers and fishery. “Many fishermen around Nigeria, particularly in places like Borno, Kogi, Taraba are from Kebbi. “We acknowledge that climate change is frustrating our fishing activities in the country. “In 2018, I visited Argungu, the Emir of Argungu took me to Matanfada, we stood on its stone and he said never in his life had he seen the stone with his naked eyes which was at the bottom of the river, but now drying up,” he said. The government will mobilise all fishing communities to change the situation, he said. The governor, therefore, urged the world fish programme to bring in its expertise and work with local experts to improve the situation. Bagudu said his administration’s target was to help lower income earners get out of poverty. Earlier, the World Fish Program Coordinator, Dr Harrison Charo, said they were in the state on the invitation of the governor to assist in harnessing the enormous fish resources available in the state. Charo said ”we are ready to work and improve the status of fishing activities in the state.” (NAN) https://www.dailytrust.com.ng/kebbi-moves-to-revive-fish-production.html? naijacutee FOD puskin mynd44 lalasticlala MrKnowitall dominique |

The Federal Government has recruited no fewer than 1,350 unemployed youths under the N-power programme to serve as agricultural extension workers in Cross River. The State Coordinator of Sasakawa Global 2000, Mr Ekok Ntua, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), shortly after inspecting a cassava demonstration farm at Okonde in Ikom Local Government Area of the state. He said the youth, recruited under the N-agro component of the N-power scheme, had been trained on extension services to complement the 94 existing extension workers working under the state’s Agricultural Development Project (ADP). “You know, according to World Bank, the ration should be one extension worker to between 800 and 1,000 farmers. But here, the ration is one extension worker to 4,000 farmers,” he said. He said the recruitment of the N-agro agents had greatly supported farmers in the state by providing them the necessary farming techniques for improved productivity. NAN reports that the officials of team from SG 2000 were in Ikom, Cross River to meet with small holder farmers, under the Africa Cassava Agronomy Initiative (ACAI) project, to assess the new farming technologies being promoted in the area. Earlier, the SG 2000 Country Director, Prof. Sani Ahmed-Miko, advised cassava farmers in the area to embrace the technology under the Africa Cassava Agronomy Initiative project. He said that the research conducted under project was on its third stage of implementation. “The output of the research on cassava/maize inter crop has been validated and the technology is ready for dissemination,” he said. NAN gathered that the visit will also give the farmers opportunity to meet with journalists to express opinion on the successes and challenges of the new farming technologies, especially on cassava production.
