Bayero University Kano is indeed the best according to this rating of International outlook. It could also be the best in term of discipline, quality education delivery, up-to-date infrastructure, beautiful girls, student activists, no nonsense lecturers, opportune students and in general a dogged university community that can absorb challenges. God bless Bayero University Kano. |
The Times Higher Education, THE, of the United Kingdom in its 2023 World University assessment, has ranked Bayero University, Kano, BUK as Nigeria’s overall best university in terms of ‘international outlook’. The university also emerged as number 1,016 in the Global Universities Ranking and 4th best in Nigeria. According to the annual global ranking released on Tuesday, October 11, over 2,500 universities across the world submitted data for assessment and ranking in which 97 universities were from Africa. ad THE is is one of the respected, largest and diverse university ranking organization in the world, which assesses thousands of universities in over 104 countries. About 25 universities from the African continent, including Bayero University, out of the 97 that submitted data got a ranking status in the competitive analysis, while the remaining universities got “reporter” status only. With its global ranking, BUK is now one of the best universities in Nigeria, coming behind University of Ibadan, University of Lagos and Covenant University as 1st, 2nd and 3rd best respectively. In addition to emerging 4th in the national ranking, Bayero University is also the best University in the entire North- West, North-Central, North-East, South-East and South- South regions. The report said the ranking was based on 13 calibrated performance indicators that measure an institution’s performance across four areas of teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook. Bayero University was rated as Nigeria’s overall best in terms of international outlook while it ranked 2nd best in the number of Students Full-Time Enrolment, SFTE with over 44.4% score and was rated 3rd in research in the whole country. In the global ranking, Oxford University was ranked as the overall best, followed by University of Harvard and University of Cambridge who emerged 2nd and 3rd best. Reacting to the ranking, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas, noted that this was a manifestation of the stakeholder’s efforts at ensuring quality and standards as well as improving facilities for enhanced teaching and research. According to him, part of his determination was to make the university one of the best in this continent and among the best 100 globally. He vowed not to relent in this direction. Also speaking, the director of Academic Planning Directorate, Professor Haruna Musa who coordinated the submission of data to the THE, commended the Vice Chancellor for all the support he gives to the directorate. He also advised staff to improve their visibility on university website as well as publish their research work in reputable journals and engage on more collaborations with universities and industries at the international level. https://dailynigerian.com/buk-ranked-nigeria/ olawalebabs Fynestboi Richiez mynd44 oam4j lalasticlala seun semid4lyfe dominique Briareos UjSizzle |

Something isn't aligning here Too many questions seeking for answers Who locked him up? How did they know its up to that number of years? Who supplies him the food that kept him from being hungry? Bottom line away from these questions is that, once he was lost, now he is found. Let him be reconnected back to his family. |
previous thread https://www.nairaland.com/7380137/man-locked-up-20-years The Police Command in Kaduna State has invited five people to assist it in the investigation of the locking up of a 67 years old man for 20 years in Kaduna. The Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Mohammed Jalige, stated this at the scene of the alleged offence on Wednesday. The rescued man, Mr Ibrahim Ado, was allegedly locked up in a room in Bayajidda/Ibrahim Taiwo Road in Kaduna North Local Government Area on Wednesday. Jalige told newsmen that the incident was reported to the community health workers who were on duty in the afternoon at Bayajidda by Ibrahim Taiwo road in Kaduna. According to him, upon receipt of the information, the Commissioner of Police, Kaduna Command, Yekini Ayoku< ordered that the Divisional Police Officer in charge of the area should lead operatives to the scene and bring out the man. He said the Commissioner also ordered that they should find out from the people around the area why the man was kept in a room for so long. He said that the man had been locked up in the room for almost 20 years, where he ate, urinated and did everything. “When we went to the scene, we found the man naked, we gave him clothes to wear and brought him out and took him to the hospital for medical evaluation,” he said. Jalige further said that the Kaduna State Commissioner of Police also ordered a full-scale investigation to be carried out to unravel the true position and cause of the inhuman treatment of the elderly man. He noted that investigations had been commenced by the DPO Magajin Gari Police Division, and would reveal the outcome. He said they found five people in the area who were assisting them in the investigation process. “We were made to understand that the man had children and a wife who was nowhere to be found, the people we met in the compound and the neighbouring houses, we believe will assist us in getting the true position of the whole scenario.” “We will work together with the medical doctors to obtain their report on the man’s health status. What matters now is to get the man alive and make him comfortable, and we have succeeded in doing that,” Jalige said.
