Behold, I was shapen in iniquity, etc. We are not to suppose that David here reflects upon his parents as the medium of transmitting to him the elements of moral evil; and that by the introduction of the doctrine of original sin he intended to extenuate the enormity of his own crimes. On the contrary, we are to regard him as afflicting himself by the humbling consideration that his very nature was fallen, that his transgressions flowed from a heart naturally at enmity with God; that he was not a sinner by accident, but by a depravity of purpose extending to the innermost desires and purposes of the soul; and that there was "a law in his members, warring against the law of his mind, and bringing him into captivity to the law of sin and death" Romans 7:23
Bros,

Matthew Henry's commentary is rich and exhaustive......

It "richly" explains passages in the scripture. Many today's pastors (so-called) are simply lazy to research, they just jump on podiums and desecrate the scriptures

He was never even competent enough to handle that post! Look at even how otondoish he looks in that snap shot! Unfit, old, very poor orator, dull, always looking as if he is scared, dodging the press! This chap only got the job because of nepotism and not because of any sort of outstanding background he has in dealing with government administration! He has always been a northern coordinator (run around mallam) for most of buharis campaigns so this was a "reward job"!

But at what expense should we keep doing this? With all the young pros in the system waiting for a chance! What the hell is an electrical engineer doing with such a complex post? Buhari needs to wake the _fuck up!
Bros,

Some lessons for you - There is a clear difference between "Leadership Competence" and "Profession Competence". Some people go through both, starting with the later; while some never attain leadership competence. That he's an engineer does not preclude him from leadership.

Meanwhile, I think you should find out information before making suppositions that are wrong and unfair. First off, Babachir deserves to be fired, BUT you cannot rubbish his ascendancy on some wrongly famed northern oligarchy. Besides Babachir is a Christian, an ECWA theologian and not a mallam as you suppose

Let us learn to deal with facts and lay off sentiments, especially when those sentiments are actually clear case of ignorance

Femi Adesina claimed the presidency wasn't consulted before the reporter was expelled. This is a big sign that Buhari is incapacitated and every head of department in Aso rock is acting based on their own discretion. If the president was healthy and in charge of things, the CSO would have consulted him before taking such decision.
The CSO decided to do this on his own because Oga couldn't be reached.
It is well. We all know what will happen to a boat without a captain. For the sake of Nigeria, I wish him a speedy recovery and a healthier comeback.
Then he can go to Daura to rest in 2019.
These are conjectures that are baseless. An officer can err, can mis-interpret, can be judgemental and go overboard, and much more can act legalilly within his remit, yet his action may not be expedient.

How this action automatically translates into PMB being incapacitated beggars logic. The same thing happened when Daura barred AIT journalist from PMB prior to swearing-in. When such was brought to PMB's attention, he directed a reversal of Daura's order and that he intended not to gag the press. How you come to these ridiculous conclusions.......you deserve a medal for obfuscation

It is ironical that people "conveniently decided" to blow this out of proportion.
1. First of the matter was resolved ammicably and the journalist was called back by the media office
2. This is a case of a CSO that acted on his own and did not get carry the media office along
3. The media office and the President's handle had said they had not qualms with the journalist and should be left to continue his work

Now
@Raziii

Let's not get over ourselves....... Some of these teething issues like this will crop up. Security can interpret such publication as a compromise or even security agent can go beyond their remit at times. It is how the situation is handled that is important.

This is the 3rd time PMB's govt is having to correct some of this missteps and you should credit them for that. Interpreting the CSO's move as a presidential order is hypocritical, nonsensical and unnecessary

Look mate, as far as this issue is concerned, is a no brainer. Buhari and his goons can confuse Nigerians but I refuse to be part of that lot.

To start with, officially, we still don't know who owns the apartment. And if it's by the gist am hearing, which is the DG's wife company that owns the flat, that wife ought to have been arrested and all this suspension is totally unnecessary cos whoever owns the apartment owns that money or is a big witness against whoever owns the money.

If the money was approved by Jonathan, was it just withdrawn recently because the money movement into the apartment was very recent. So many unanswered questions.

Again, I also see Magu as the whistle blower here cos everything seems to be pointing to him, hence the swiftness in response without due diligence. Else why would someone come and tell me something and I just jump into action without even confirming if it's true or not.

Abegi, I don tire to dey type for this useless country jare...

Nigerians, smh
Keep turning logic on its head at will.....and clap for yourself

1. You don't know who owns the apartment in question? with reports on the authentic owner of the apartment being wife of the DG NIA what else are you looking for?
2. What proof do you have that the money was recently moved into the apartment? and to what effect is that in the context of determining why such an amount is in an unsecured location?
3. Magu is the whistle blower? How that made sense to you beats me! But did I just read you type "due diligence"? GAWD!!!! I give up

GEJ as president had every authority to approve money for an agency.

So, are Buhari's men that took over from May 2015 telling us that NIA did not return the unspent money back to FG at the end of 2015 and even 2016? or was it GEJ's responsibility again to enforce that even after leaving office?

Buhari and his APC strategists are desperate to cover-up this matter.

.....rather GEJ as president had the responsibility of following laid down procedures in his approval of money for agencies. He also had the responsibility to make sure that the approvals he made will not lead to wanton stealing and questionable use. Check this;
1. What is the explanation of GEJ seeking senates approval for borrowing $1b for security purpose (in the public), while approving $289m in private?
2. NIA's budget was $160m. NIA was going to spend an amount almost doubling the annual budget, why wasn't the Senate and house of Reps approval sort for a spending of that amount?
3. Why was such not in the hand-over note to the incoming govt?
4. Why was the money approved in Cash? Have any agency been ever given such and amount in cash in the history of this country or the world?

It should be arrested DG and NOT suspended if Buhari was impartial with his corruption war.
You need to arm yourself with the procedure, which is applicable in both public and private sector. If you are suspected to have been involved in a questionable activity, the first step is suspension, pending thorough investigation. During the suspension, you are queried and allowed come forward and defend yourself. If your defense is found unsatisfactory, then necessary punishment will be meted out.

So there is nothing wrong here, the government is following laid down procedure

EXCLUSIVE: NIA collected $289m cash from NAPIMS account in 2015

The National Intelligence Agency (NIA) collected $289,202,382 in cash from the account of the National Petroleum Investment Management Services (NAPIMS) in February 2015 after the postponement of the general election, TheCable understands.

NAPIMS is a subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) which manages the investments of the national oil company.

It was also from NNPC’s accounts that the office of the national security adviser withdrew the bulk of the $2.1 billion it got for “Boko Haram operations” in the months leading to the 2015 elections.

TheCable understands that $289,202,382 was approved for NIA’s “covert operations” by President Goodluck Jonathan and subsequently withdrawn in cash on February 25, 2015 from NAPIMS account at CBN.

The entire NIA budget for 2015 was a little over N25 billion which was about $160 million at the time — further suggesting that the payment was extra-budgetary.

The Department of State Services (DSS) also got huge sums of cash in naira and dollars for “covert operations” in the run-up to the elections.

These revelations are coming in the light of the recovery of $43 million, £27,000 and N23 million in a flat in Ikoyi, Lagos state, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) following a tip-off from a whistle blower.

NIA said it was its money and that it was meant for “covert operations” — according to reports.

There is now strong suspicion that the Ikoyi haul might have been part of the $289,202,382 released to the agency two years ago.

A presidency source had told TheCable that President Muhammadu Buhari was not briefed on the funds which were warehoused at a private apartment.

Although Oke reportedly said the apartment belongs to NIA, Sahara Reporters alleged that it belongs to Chobe Ventures — owned by Folashade Oke.

The now suspended NIA DG has a wife named Folashade Oke, further fuelling speculation that it was a family affair.

But NIA is said to have claimed that the money was only “in transit” at the Ikoyi apartment for onward movement to the agency’s property elsewhere.

“The circumstances make everything suspicious,” the senior presidency official told TheCable

Buhari has set up a three-man panel to investigate both Oke and Babachir Lawal, secretary to the government of the federation, over various allegations.

Oke was appointed by Jonathan as the NIA DG in November 2013 and retained by Buhari, even though he replaced other security chiefs in August 2015.

Oke’s tenure is up in November 2017.
