onotukabiru:A lot of sacrifice must go into this. I believe people should tell themselves a reality of postponing comfort for a 5-10 year period. Starting early is also key. I remember I once advised my sister in law that to make her relationship worthwhile, she and fiancee should commit to house project - either build or buy. In 2007, I gave my wife 900k to cover a summer trip. She suggested we shelve summer that year so that we can invest in a business she's had her mind on for a while. I bought the idea (making ICE BLOCKS in large quantity) and we started. We built a mini-factory from scratch. Summer was shelved for 6years. It was a rewarding experience for us....but one thing that was key, the experience I got building the factory was key both as impetus and little experience in building the one we live in today.........I will forever be grateful for the kind of wife I married. She like her grandmother believed in the concept of "tying things down" (building projects) I am currently thinking of starting a complex next year (4 floors minimum), consisting of supermarket, restaurant and office spaces. I simply tell myself that after acquiring the land, I just need to throw a minimum of 5 million Naira at it every year and will wrap it up when I exit paid employment. |
NaijaFutbol:I remember back then, my mother practically forced my first housing allowance out of my hand and used it to buy 2.5plots of land @ Ibafo. I was 24+. It shaped my perception for life...... for example, we used all the cash gift we got at wedding 4yrs later to complete payment for a second property |
onotukabiru:I'll rather put it @25Logician: :Why? |
Evathyst:Now I can confirm you have obviously lost it. For someone that was seeking for "counter arguments.....". But sista, are you so dumb that you don't know your level? Direct collages and nonsense stuffs like these to your cohorts, who are bereft of the capacity to rational thinking..... |
Evathyst:Stew.pid O level literature student, you just quickly flip through your textbooks and lift quotes, without assessing the relevance. Try and explain how Olujimi's reply is a metaphor! You shamelessly defend a Senator who harshly replied a constitutent that was voicing out his concern on wanton waste and impunity in the Senate. You shamelessly want to explain away a Senator that told a constituent to go to blazes as he's irrelevant, after all she's "paid every inch of the way..." yet you claim to know that governance is all about service? What an irony? I know you're a pay-per-post IPOB she-tout, but your pay masters should have engaged intelligent ones. O blimey! I almost forgot that it is only unintelligent folks that can condescend so low to do what you do |
Evathyst:I knew I would bring out your emptiness, so much for claim of the command of language yet empty on "brains". obviously things got beyond what your brain can process, frustration had to set in. No wonder you resorted to expletives. |
bumi10:I am also persuade to take this view of yours. She has something she's not telling the courts and just simply wants to lie her way through |
fulanimafia:IHEJIRIKAisBOKO: :Gladly, you can paste the address in your message to attach it to your comment. ![]() |
It is unfortunate that for all your rant, you fail the simple test of logic. Your attempt to swing this just highlights both your comprehension deficit and failed attempt to appear smart. Pray tell, what metaphorical statement is "I paid every inch of the way..." in this context? Did you even bother to read the conversations between the guy that sent her the text and the reply he got? People like you are little minded and the little knowledge you have, you cannot put to good use. Unfortunately your limitations did not allow you to see what is important. The question of who benefits is as useless and worthless as you lay your arguments. We are talking about the common good of our country Nigeria, how in the time of scarcity our Senate is supposed to show concern and commitment by not buying needless cars, not given to corruption by ammending CCT and CCB act and others, yet what you could think of in this whole issue is who benefits? Unfortunately I cannot come down to your comprehension level to explain simple things to you Unfortunately your comprehension level looks less than basic, and I do not find it tempting to "raise a counter argument......" with you. I value the use of my intellect....... Evathyst: |
I am waiting for the turn of Justice Mary Odili |
GboyegaD:Bros, Don't spoil the fun. You need not try to explain what is not relevant to the idi.otic wailers. Let the have their fill........... Don't you see the quality of opposition we have in this country? To say that PDP twitter handle is handle by a youth - Deji Adeyanju....... then you will pray to God that his level should not be reflective of the average intelligence of the Nigerian youth.........but alas! NL is about to make it true |
Is Ambode a twin? or who's the officer at the extreme right? |
Evathyst:1. The statement, taken in isolation may not mean anything, but within the context of the reply to the "alledged" conversation, it is an outright admission that she paid her way to secure votes. Now this is first a moral issue, how the law will interprete it is another matter. Does it not bother you that Senators we voted for to represent us in the National Assembly will talk to a citizen that way? Does it not bother you that the mentality of a typical politician like her is that once she's paid her way through, she doesn't give a hoot about the citizens? 2. Second, this has been trending on twitter since morning and the retweets is devoid of party affiliation, but by all well meaning Nigerians that want the good of this country. Which makes me ask you, are you so bereft of any modicum of care for the future of your children that you will even consider Senator Olujimi as defensible? Other comments of yours needs no review as they are simply unintelligent statements |
Lilimax:Let me help hereFickie: :But before GEJ, corruption has been in Nigeria nah 1. IBB legalised corruption and not GEJ. Under IBB corruption was rampant yet covert 2. GEJ redefined and sign-posted corruption. Under GEJ's "stealing is not corruption" mantra, corruption was brazenly carried out with impunity. The remnants are what we still have in the Senate and both parties |
yekparikpa:I was liking your line until I got to this fabu in bold ![]() |
Adekorya:@Adekorya, you fall my hand o! why are you asking him the obvious when the answer is sign-posted on his monikerBlackPeni5: :Nigga why are you thinking with anus? Educate yourself and get out of land full of ignoramus. Saraki is wrestling with the president and not Tinubu, and he himself is aware of his opponent. I'm not supporting his trial but that doesn't i don't want him in prison if guilty. But for once know the enemy of your master and stop attacking another man. |
stevnwigw:......and this is the reason why it is not good to drop out of school |
Life is funny.......to think that the "Yeye" that used to roll with my cousins in Akobo don become Oni.........God is great ![]() |
TheBatman:Absolutely yes, and that is even what is already in the public space 1. The three guys that started OANDO are Wale Tinubu, Emamofe Boyo and Onajite Okolo 2. Wale Tinubu and Boyo were lawyers in a law firm that offers legal services to firms doing international oil trade business 3. They had formed their companies in the 90s and had made money from successful international oil trade way before 2001 when the came to buy Agip and Unipetrol. Their first successful vessel trade was around 1996 or there about. 4. Bola Tinubu has absolutely nothing to do with OANDO. It is a Wale and friends thing. 5. If you look at the strategies, profiles and structure of Ocean and Oil holdings, you will get a clear picture I think linking Bola Tinubu to OANDO is pretty cheap. These guys did not arrive overnight when Tinubu was governor. They had been in business half a decade before Tinubu became governor then and records/facts in the public domain proves that |
White007:Bros, Unfortunately you post some inaccuracies and misrepresentation of facts. I'm sure if you can google search, you will see certified case studies that relates the story from the 90s. from the days of Ocean and Oil holdings, to international oil trade deals they made, when other were sleeping.....I reviewed the OANDO case back then in business school and your submissions are inaccurate |
Trueyarn:The person that made the video and the photo is a class idi.ot. You don't compromise the identity of people's kids, putting stuffs online and getting it to go viral. I hope Nigerian privacy laws covers this. @OP watch what you post, and who's the mod that cannot exercise discretion? Stuffs like this should have been deleted outrightly and not brought to FP |
modath:Ha Sista, Eyin tie ni. Mo man ngbadun line yin jare ![]() |
VictorRomanov:I think the "difficulty" are in two folds 1. The decay that was met on ground is so gross that effort is geared toward careful assessment of the rot and the remedies to fix it. There's hardly anything tangible in that to "communicate" 2. The government is result centric and concrete results for that matter. Communication I believe will be in top gear when results starts churning out. When Tinubu started in Lagos as governor, for 7months, there was hardly anything visible to see, but once he landed Kudirat Abiola road in Oregun, the jaw droppingness effect of the quality of work itself, was enough communication.... |
darlenese:Which country are you in queing for fuel for 2days, Haba! |
modath:Bros, Pardon me, but with this punch line..... I have to more than jump into this mention ![]() |
dan2976:Bros, Constructive criticism is not when you post senseless and baseless assertions, just to stay relevant. It is also not when you twist logic on its head. When I read a few of Fayose's submissions, I just waived it off as someone raving mad. Let me give you a few 1. The CEECC was the company that did Ikorodu-Mile12 road done by Fashola, one of the best roads by all standards. The contract was so structured that there was an element of technology transfer. For example, all welders on that project were Nigerians. The government made sure that even though they were less skilled, the Chinese coy trained them for 3 months before the commencement of the project and they handled the welding. These are ways you improve the capacity and capability of your local workforce 2. Sanusi's strategic move (as CBN governor) back then to convert some of our foreign reserves to Yuan actually increased the value and Fayose simply twisted facts. Sanusi's move was appluaded by experts and a review of Sanusi's hedging showed it paid off. 3. On the issue of where to source raw materials for the projects, don;t we import many of those from China in the first place? Unfortunately the FG cannot give a response to someone as daft as him, doing so will make FG to be as stupid as Fayose |
Joel3:Apart from the fact that you can hardly play two sides, it is advisable that you stay on your lane as a wailer. Trying to start an intelligent conversation was dead on arrival as you're not cut out for intelligence. Stick to what you know how to do best. |
wasuka14:Bros, one key principle in the game of power is to ignore for a long while and let him (Fayose) run himself amok as he's currently doing so that he continues to demonstrate his emptiness to the world. Besides what attention do you think PMB should give him, when there are people that requuired better use of the span |
Itsekiriman101:Develop where? He cannot give what he doesn't have. Ekiti people have sinned against God and God decided to visit them this the calamity (Fayose) of the Egyptians |
